Why You Really Hurt: It All Starts in the Foot

Rate this book
Why You Really Hurt is the story of how one bone in your foot could be the real reason for pains thru out your whole body. This book is important because it offers the public new information about why millions of people suffer everyday with aches and pains, and offers new hope to get rid of problems they believed they would have to live with for ever.

Mortons Toe can cause the following problems; back pain, hip pain, knee pain, leg pain, plantar fasciitis, calf pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, corns and calluses, bunions, fallen arches, ankle pain, heel pain, arch pain, weak ankles, hammer toes, tired feet (all over), neuromas, burning feet, shooting pains in the toes, stress and march fractures, night cramps (restless leg syndrome), temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ), diabetic foot ulcers.

Millions of people suffer every day, with these torments and do not know why. I believe that in many cases Morton's Toe is the explanation for this WHY, and the reason for aches and pains not only in their back, knee, and hip but also in alot other places in their body.

I found this book in my local thrift store. Only (sort of) amusing because what caught my attention was the title...and my feet were hurting, horribly, as they have been for months. Particularly my left heel.

This book offered a simple suggestion to try. Cutting a shoe pad (cut to 1" x 2" in size), stacking two together...and taping the small stack to the bottom of my foot. (I, it turns out, have a short first metatarsal bone. This small stack, taped under the first metatarsal bone, stops the pain. It is incredible.)

The condition is called "Morton's Toe" and is a hereditary plight. My (maternal) grandmother had it, too. Or so I assume because she taped cushions to the base of her foot, too, and now I know why!

This was a known cure in the older generation. The cure (seemingly) fell out of vogue. Experiencing less pain, however, should be known by everyone.

I am so glad to have happened upon finding this book!

I read this book in 3 hrs. I now walk without pain! I had bunions and the dr told me surgery was the only solution. But why did I have calusses on the bottom of my feet (where the 2nd metatarsil joint is)? The reason is that I have an anatomical variation called Morton's Toe and the solution is so super easy and effective that I was walking pain-free the next day.

The book isn't written incredibly well but WHO CARES?! You can have your life back!

The book is about Morton's Foot (where the 1st metatarsal is short so the 2nd toe appears to be the longest). The gist is that all sorts of physical problems, up to and including TMJ are caused by this inherited condition. The simple cure is a pad that you can make yourself and tape to the sole of the foot. I tried this, and it wasn't helpful for me. I believe it probably works for many people, but I am not to be blessed with quick solutions.

So I discovered, thanks to this book, that I do indeed have a Morton's Toe and consequently, understand the reason I've acquired a painful bunion. The way to alleviate the problem and take away the pain is so simple! This was not necessarily a gripping read, but definitely enlightening. I am so grateful I stumbled upon it.

Must read for anyone suffering from foot pain - rating is not for the writing itself but for how easily it can get you moving again without pain. Amazed that more podiatrists don't look for this foot structure and recommend this simple fix.
