Three Weird Tales of Music and Song
- The Death of Sergeant MacLeod
- The Case of the Highland Fiddle
- The Scotsman's Fiddle
Music can transport you. It can bring sunshine on a cloudy day and lift your heart in times of trouble. But there is another side, a darker side, to music. Allow yourself to be open to a different melody, and who knows where the music will take you.
In these three stories you will follow the dance into dark places, down dark passageways, where dark melodies play.

Entertaining paranormal listening 🎶🔰
Another three will written British 🏰 paranormal fantasy world 🌎 haunting horror adventure thriller short stories by William Meikle Chapbook Collection book 44 of 53. Three very different short stories each different with interesting well developed characters lots of action, misdirection, and violence leading to the unexpected conclusions. The second story is Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of paranormal fantasy adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 😀👒☺

This is my eighth William Meikle book this year, and as ever I was completely captivated. There's just something very, very special about the way this amazing author can immediately draw you into a tale, and hold you there, breathless, until the very end. Then you wish it hadn't ended!
A master storyteller, William Meikle can turn his craft towards many different themes, and this collection especially shone for me. The mere fact that you know you have just read something beautiful, ethereal, and haunting, is superb, but what engages me most with this author is his ability to actually take you a different place. Literally. And, for the duration of his tale, you just don't want to be anywhere else. That is a rare gift.
Folk Songs: Three Weird Tales of Music and Song is an absolute gem. Not only is the concept behind the stories flawlessly carried out in their telling, the places, characters and strangeness in the tales all feel completely real. In many ways, the craft of this author is so pitch perfect (pun intended, here!) it feels as if you are enveloped in his imaginings, and these tales are all absolute classics in their own right. No spoilers, but be prepared to have your heart wrenched by the poetry and beauty you'll find here, as well as kept awake, wondering what terrors are coming. What a combination that is.
For me, reading has always been an escape; as an only child, I very soon discovered that I was never really alone when I could open a favourite book, and be with my friends in their world. I have rediscovered that passionately, with William Meikle's tales. These stories will linger in my mind long after I have finished the book, and I just know that I will find myself drawn back to them again and again.
I am so very glad I have discovered this wonderful storyteller. His work is, in my opinion, a masterclass in writing and a joy to read; I am so thankful that there are many more amazing yarns spun by William Meikle to yet be discovered by me!

Excellent little book (shame about the padding)
Of course I enjoyed the stories. Meikle has a talent for weird storytelling. I knocked off a star for the repetitive addition of the same over long "about the author" section to every one of these "chapbooks" to boost the page count. It's starting to irritate me.
