Caden may be the hottest boy I’ve ever seen, but he’s also an arrogant jerk and a bully, and the heir to the Dinarti crime family—my family’s biggest rivals.
Getting involved with him is the last thing I should do.
Only, Caden won’t leave me alone. He acts like he owns the school and seems hell-bent on tormenting me.
But he doesn’t know who he’s messing with.
I refuse to bow down, and I just might take the bet everyone is talking about, even if it gets me in trouble.
Caden’s icy heart will be mine.
And then I will crush it.
This is the first installment in the Allegri Elite High School series. It is not intended for readers under eighteen years of age and ends with a cliffhanger.
Moira Barretti is the author of the Invern Elite Prep School series, the Allegri Elite High School series, the Rivenn Royal Academy series, the Vincenzo Elite High School duet, and the Sarri Mafia series.
For a quick read, this was good until the very end. Adrianna and Caden weren't very mature for seniors in high school. Caden's bullying was childish. I would have expected Caden to be more disciplined since he is the mafia heir. Adrianna's plan to get back at Caden was really stupid. It didn't make sense, and since things changed over the course of the book, it made even less sense to do what she did. Not only did she inflame mafia tensions but made Caden even more of an enemy. I'll read the next one because with all this crazy shit going on in the world I need mindless entertainment.
Continuing on my path of reading bully romances aka Bullymances. I decided to read Bully Bet by Moira Barretti. Of course, I go into the bully romances blind so I wasn't sure what it was about and this one turned into a Mobster Romeo and Juliet sort of situation. What I also liked about this particular one was it was a nice change from the reverse harem situation that Bully romances tend to go for. In this book, our main female character Adrianna is secretly a Mobster princess and is going to high school and keeping a low profile, trying to be normal and all. That is until Caden Dinarti arrives at the school in all his glory and swagger and plans to make Adrianna's life a living hell. The Dinarti's are another mobster family and are Adrianna's family's arch-enemy. What happens though when Adrianna hears about a Bet to seduce Caden? Is this her way of getting revenge on the guy who has made her last few weeks at school a living hell. What will happen though when Adrianna actually starts to fall for Caden, only for things to turn out crazy when her brother and family discover something is up? Find out in Bully Bet by Moira Barretti. I am now looking forward to reading on and continuing this series and checking out Moira's other series Invern Elite Prep School.
The writing is mediocre. The writing felt amateurish. I was reading this and all I thought was how annoying and stupid all the characters were to each other. The hero’s behavior does not feel like a bully read, but a 9 year old boy trying to get a little girl’s attention by pulling her braids. His actions were just ridiculous. The heroine's inner dialogue was even more annoying than his behavior.
I am giving up on this one. Thee are too many other bully reads out there. Maybe this one improves later in the story, but I have no patience for poor dialogue and weak plot. You may love this one. It is a DNF for me. My opinion.
A mafia's son transfers to a new high school where a rival mafia princess attends. The mafia princess does not know why the son of a rival mob transferred to her father's "area'. The mafia's son starts "bullying" the princess by telling everyone that she is a daughter of a mafia boss. I guess this was a BIG secret. Anyway, the heroine gets frustrated and blah, blah, blah. Sorry, but the plot was weak and I just felt no connection to either character. The heroine just whined.
Adrianna is a mafia princess, but she has kept her secret from others knowing who she was at the high school she is attending. When she finds out that Caden Dinarti is now attending, she is furious their families are enemies. Caden makes no bones that he plans play with her, bully her but Adrianna has her own brand of revenge for Caden, but will she ultimately regret it.
Cliffhanger ending. This was ok, didn't find myself really liking either character. Had promise but not a huge fan of the revenge-bet trope.
I liked how it's a family thing kind like Romeo and Juliet thing going on but I wish there was but more mischief on bothside however it's well written and to be honest who doesn't love the Romeo and Juliet mafia thing kind twisted .will read the next book.
The h is Adrianna. This is her second semester at a private college. She's from the Savantis crime family.
The H is Caden and he's a transfer student and is the heir to the Dinarti crime family.
His family and hers have been enemies for decades but their fathers okay'd them going to the same college. The H starts off informing everyone that she's a mafia princess. She was told to just avoid him and ignore him, and that he's supposed to leave her alone. The H keeps saying there's no point in her getting a college degree since her father will just make her have an arranged marriage to make an alliance with another family.
Honestly, bully stories are my least favorite. How can someone fall in love with someone that picks on them, demeans them, humiliates and abuses them? I can see them still finding them attractive on the outside but their behavior makes them reprehensible.
The book ends in a cliffhanger, which had I'd known I wouldn't have read. Never got boring but not continuing on.
Three star rating! I actually liked the storyline. The characters I didn't care too much about. Adriana's personality and behavior did not fit that of her character. Caden was of course the sexy moody character with issues. There was way too much internal dialogue from the FMC. It was a constant "should I do this, shouldn't I do this" which made the FMC look weak, indecisive, and nothing fitting being a "mafia princess". Don't get me wrong, I like some internal debates, but not regarding the same exact thing that would cover 2 to 3 pages repeatedly throughout the book.
So sexy and complicated is the relationship between Caden and Adrienna. I love them together and feel heart broken that everything is such a mess! Caden stole my heart and I want for him to be happy. I cannot wait to read the next book and see what happens next for them. They are going to have to see if they have a relationship or not and decide what they want to do. I love the story and find it to be both mesmerizing and cause for emotional turmoil. This book is Amazing and Addictive with a cherry on top!
At first, I thought I wouldn't like it because it looked like "Romeo and Juliet" meets "The Godfather" and to be honest? That sounds so cliché to me. And all Caden and Adrianna did for the major part of the book was to bicker and fight like old married couples do. But then something happened (which I still found it shallow, NGL) that made them date in secret which turned out cool in the end, BTW. I loved the ending tho! I needed more that's why I'm about to start the second book today.
It was a very quick read. The storyline had promise - it reads like a Romeo and Juliet, but with the mofia - but there wasn't any anticipation, no build up. I'm not sure how this was categorized as a bully romance - it's more along the lines of "let me annoy you to get your attention". It's not bad, had promise, but it's not a hook/line/sinker read either.
A little bit cliché love story, if I’m being totally honest. Kayden and Adriana got together because of lust that’s it. However you might look at it, it’s just like that. I don’t get the book cover, however, I don’t see the relevance of the girl to the book. It’s basically a love-hate relationship and I am so over it.

Caden is new to Allegri Elite High School and from a rival mafia to Adrianna who is in her senior year there. This is a great first book in this series and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next between Adrianna and Caden.
Love this book and even if caden is a bit of a douche canoe I have such a soft spot for him, This book is amazing and the typical bully book I suggest this as a book to read as its brilliant
I enjoyed this fast paced story. I was hoping we’d see more of Caden’s backstory, like why he is how he is, how he got his scars etc. He seemed like he’s lonely & needed a friend so felt truly betrayed in the end.
The writing is mediocre; almost like it was written by an 8 year old. The characters are unlikeable, yet the book is not long enough so it's finished quickly.. I am still curious on how the author will proceed yet I don't really care either.
i wish it was one big book or even two lol I love the way the series started and had progressed. most bully books aren't about star crossed lovers they are enemies to lovers etc. so this was a nice change
I love the bully to to,acne stories and this one did not disappoint Adrienne and Cayden's story is kinda sad, Both in high school and have similar families. They couldn't deny the attraction between them too and the chemistry is hot. You just want to know mo about them and see if somehow they could find a way to be together. One clicking book two now,,
An exciting read! A protected daughter of a "mafia" family and the son and their if the opposing family force. A whirlwind romance based on a bet. A must read for "bully" fans.
