This is a good book for young children, however the storyline might be slightly unadventurous for older children. The story is great for repetitive language and funny for the little ones. They find the farmyard animals in Mrs Mopple's clothes hilarious... a pig in a pink petticoat, what child wouldn't find that funny?! I also like how Anita Hewitt has asked a question at the end. Do you believe what happened? It gives children a chance to think about reality, could these animals really have these clothes on? How wild is their imagination?
Simple and funny story that is good when teaching children about weather. It has lots of repetitive part which is great for young children to join in with. Could easily do your own version of the story, great for role play and small world area.
