That was... something. It read like the kind of thing I would have written in the 9th grade, only with way better grammar and a weirdly spiritual bent. That's the best way I can think to describe it. It was a ride, that's for sure! It was maybe a half hour read, but in that time, the protagonist went from fat zero to svelte and spiritually enlightened hero. I won't spoil the details. There was just so much with fulfillment fantasy going on, and it all just.... happened. Instantly. No lead up, no plot development, just....bam, bam, bam! Look, I just need you to read it for yourself. Objectively, it was not great, but it is such a small time investment, and the price is so low, that it's worth reading just to see for yourself. And maybe wax nostalgic about the stuff you wrote as a young teen and stashed in a shoebox under the bed.
Strange book !! Maybe it's for California teenager but no one else? I'm any case got to about a third of the way they but could not keep going!! If the writer has made the character likable then maybe it would have been so I but as it is the main character was a spoiled rich kid!!
A story that shows that sometimes what you wish for is not the best thing for you and may have unintended consequences. An interesting, short read. I won this book thru a goodreads.com giveaway.
This is a great YA/adult crossover that covers a lot of ground in terms of humor and theme. Lost one star because many of the minor characters and plot points felt rushed as a result.
I’m not sure exactly what I just read but I’m here for the sequel.
