HIS BRAND OF JUSTICE (Longview Ridge Ranch Book #4) by Delores Fossen is the final romantic suspense in this series. Ms. Fossen does give enough backstory that you can read this as a standalone, but I would recommend you at least read book #1 first. These four books are about four modern day law enforcement cowboy brothers and the women they meet under perilous circumstances.
Caroline Moser was a profiler and computer wiz working on a program for law enforcement to identify serial killers spearheaded by Gemma Harrison. Their research assistant, Eric Long was a serial killer who almost killed both women. Caroline escaped with a severe head wound causing amnesia and she was placed in the WITSEC program under the protection of Marshall Jack Slater.
Marshall Jack Slater is determined to keep Caroline safe at all costs. Their relationship was lost when Caroline lost her memory as well as any clues to the murderer of the Slater brother’s father who was killed trying to save the women.
Eric Long might be dead, but someone does not want Caroline to get her memories back. As Jack tries to keep Caroline safe, he races to find the threat before even more people turn up dead.
I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Longview Ridge Ranch series. Ms. Fossen does a great job of bringing together all the threads of this plot and the overall arc of the series. I was bouncing back and forth between the suspects and for such a limited number of characters, I was still surprised. I always know that I am going to get an alpha cowboy hero and a strong heroine to match in any of Ms. Fossen books I pick up. I was excited to read Jack and Caroline’s HEA and it did not disappoint. There are explicit sex scenes, but they are not gratuitous or dragged out.
The Intrigue series always gives me a great romantic suspense or mystery that I can read quickly and be completely satisfied with the HEA. I recommend this book, this series and any book by Ms. Fossen!
Caroline Moser is in protective custody. She had been abducted and witnessed a murder. Suffering from memory loss, she is being protected by the US Marshals. Jack Slater is more than a Marshal when it comes to Caroline. The murder she witnessed was that of his father. What is more is that the pair share a steamy past.
WITSEC is no fun, especially when one is plagued by memory loss. Factor in the danger nipping at her heels, Caroline is more than stressed. With Jack asking question after question, Caroline's apprehension rises. But then her memory comes back. Apprehension gives rise to fear, increasing the panic attacks she is unable to control.
With romance being part of each story, the danger facing the protagonists is blended with romance. The conflicts that Caroline and Jack face seem insurmountable and it was wonderful how things unfolded between them. His Brand of Justice is the perfect ending to a thrilling series. I loved the first three books and really enjoyed how the tension never let up, from story to story in this series, and in this concluding book.
Many thanks to Harlequin Intrigue and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Usually Delores Fossen’s romances have a formula that she very rarely deviates from, however, in this one it was a nice change to see that Hero & heroine were already in a relationship and not separated & hating each other! Yes, heroine had amnesia and panic attacks are mentioned repeatedly but she never had one and that made no sense to me. Shouldn’t we have seen at least one such case from her – especially as the situation she was in warranted it?
Besides this, I did enjoy the element of suspense and their growing relationship. It IS a part of a series though and if you are like me who didn’t read the others, there are parts that may have you scratching your head but all in all, it can be read as a standalone. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.
The final installment of the Longview Ridge Ranch series didn't disappoint! We had to know who killed Buck Slater and there was only one woman who knew, or so we thought. The problem? Caroline Moser had lost her memory after being attacked that night by a serial killer.
Now protected in WITSEC she's being protected by the marshals and her old flame, Jack Slater. As a cop, he'll do anything to find out who killed his father. As Caroline's lover, he'll do anything for her to remember him and their love.
When Caroline gets her memory back, what she remembers terrifies her. What she overheard that night sent terror through her and she didn't know who to trust. One thing she did know, she could trust Jack, because when her memory returned, so did her love for the tall, dark, and handsome cop.
I was a little weirded out by the nonstop talk about Caroline having panic attacks that she never actually had. It just never went anywhere and I thought that was odd. Thankfully, you were able to ignore it and enjoy the story.
The danger is high for Jack, Caroline, Kellan, and Gemma, but the stakes are even higher. Caroline has to take the most dangerous risk of all and when the mystery unravels, the truth is startling.
This series was a winner from beginning to end and you don't want to miss the finale! Happiness finally finds the Slater family again.
Good conclusion to the series. This is the fourth and final book but can be read by itself. The author gives enough details from the previous books to keep from being lost. In this book, Caroline is under the protection of the Marshal Service, specifically Jack Slater. He has two huge stakes in keeping Caroline safe. First, she is the only witness to the murder of his father. Unfortunately, she was kidnapped and held hostage, and in the process lost her memory. Second, before everything went down, Jack and Caroline were a couple. Jack wants his Caroline back so that he can reciprocate her words of love.
The book starts with a rush as the safe house where Caroline lives has been compromised. Jack arrives to protect Caroline and her nurse to find that a man has breached their perimeter. As a second shock, Caroline recognizes the man and confesses that her memory returned a few days earlier. Now it is up to Jack to get them to safety and find out what Caroline knows.
Things are not as cut-and-dried as Jack had hoped. Caroline never saw the murderer, and what she overheard makes her believe that someone inside law enforcement had a hand in it. Caroline doesn't trust anyone other than Jack. Someone out there wants to make sure that Caroline doesn't have a chance to talk about anything she knows.
The suspense in this story was intense from start to finish. There were multiple attacks on Caroline and Jack, showing that someone is determined to protect their secret. Which suspect will it be? One of Jack's fellow marshals, who has some questionable connections and suspicious actions? Or the creepy best friend of the serial killer responsible for Caroline's memory loss? Or maybe the do-gooder socialite or the computer hacker? I constantly flipped back and forth among the various suspects. Something would happen that would convince me of one person's guilt, only to be pushed aside by the actions of another. By the end, I was down to two but could not make up my mind between them. I liked watching Jack, Caroline, and the others as they tried to fit the puzzle pieces together. The final confrontation was a nail-biter, as it could have gone either way, right up to the end.
I liked watching the relationship between Jack and Caroline. Jack had never lost his love for Caroline, even while she was missing and later with her memory loss. He tries to keep his emotions under control while protecting her because he doesn't want them to distract him from her safety. Caroline was wary around Jack until her memory returned, and she remembered her love for him. I liked seeing them work together, protect each other, and long for the resolution so that they could get on with their lives. I liked the ending as they both finally got what they wanted.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Anther hit for a very talented author. Can't wait to read more of her books. I highly recommend this author to everyone.
His Brand of Justice is the fourth and final book in Delores Fossen's Longview Ridge Ranch series, and since I'd read books #1 and #3, I wanted to find out who murdered Jack's father, the mystery which ran through this entire series, and so I requested an advance reader copy of this novel. Unfortunately, I found that even though I'd met many of these characters in the two previous novels I'd read, it didn't take long for me to realize that I didn't remember most of them, that I couldn't keep them straight without a scorecard, and I was further confused by the addition of many new characters/suspects, and for that reason, I couldn't give this novel more than a 3-star rating, and although I suppose it could be read as a standalone, I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
While I believe this series and this novel were well written and extremely suspenseful, both traits I've come to expect from a Delores Fossen novel, what I didn't expect was the almost total absence of character development in her main characters, Marshall Jack Slater, and his former lover and criminal profiler, Caroline Moser. As the novel opens, we learn that Caroline had been abducted a year earlier, and tortured by a maniacal serial killer named Eric, now deceased, and that since her rescue, she has suffered from amnesia and can't remember what happened to her. Of primary importance to Jack is that she might know if Eric also was the man who killed Jack's father. Caroline also doesn't remember that prior to her abduction, she and Jack had been enjoying a torrid romance. Because she has been in therapy and has nightmares and flashbacks, Jack isn't letting on about his feelings for her or their previous relationship, but is anxiously waiting for her memory to return.
Since there have been additional threats to her life and a safety breach about her location in the WITSEC safe house where Caroline has been hiding, clearly someone still wants her dead, will stop at nothing to get to her, and so Jack brings her to his home in Longview Ridge, where he and his many deputies can also keep an eye on her. From this point on, while I was interested in finally learning what was going on and why, I became a victim of complete character confusion. Many of the characters have similar names, like Kellen and Zeller, Caroline and Clarie, and as the novel continued, even more people were added to to list suspects, some of whom might have been working for and with Jack in law enforcement, and the plot became so convoluted I kept hoping for clarity, but it never came.
It was clear that there had been some real heat and deeply felt emotion in Caroline's previous relationship with Jack, however, I felt that the fact that her amnesia suddenly disappeared one day and that she didn't bother to mention it to Jack for the next three days made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I could understand her wariness about his staff of deputies, but this is a man she claimed to love, one who is risking his own life trying to keep her safe and alive, and with whom she finally rekindles their sexual relationship--so why keep it a secret?
As the mystery deepens, the suspect list grows, and there are additional attempts to kill Caroline as the novel progresses, I found myself far more drawn into the whodunit aspect of this novel than I was drawn into caring about the life and safety of Jack, Caroline, and the rest of the cast of characters. It was a lot like watching a chess match as the characters became pieces of the puzzle that were moved onto and off of the suspect list, but without engendering any emotional connection to any of them for this reader. So, while this romantic suspense novel worked for me as a pretty good mystery, for this reader, it failed as a romance. Once again, I strongly suggest reading the previous novels in this series in the order they were written before reading this one.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
Delores Fossen continues to cement her standing as one of the finest writers of romantic suspense writing today with her latest novel: His Brand of Justice.
Marshall Jack Slater and Caroline Moser had once been head over heels in love. As their relationship intensified, so too did their feelings for one another and the two of them had truly believed that a long and happy future was around the corner for them – until tragedy struck and fate had torn them apart in the cruellest way possible. Jack remembers Caroline telling him that she loved him and he still regrets the fact that he hadn’t told her he loved her back prior to their world imploding and their future and their safety being put in jeopardy. When Caroline had walked out of the door, nobody could have possibly foreseen the catastrophic events that would unfold for the two of them – or that Caroline would lose her memory and be in immediate danger.
Now in Witness Protection, Jack will do whatever it takes to ensure that not a single hair on Caroline’s head is harmed, and with her enemies getting closer and closer, Jack realizes that he needs to step up his game even further, keep his eyes and ears open and trust nobody with Caroline’s safety. When her safe house is compromised, Jack knows that he is the only one who can protect the woman he loves – even if she doesn’t seem able to remember the fact that she had once shared a very special bond with him. Jack cannot allow his feelings for Caroline to compromise his case in any way, yet the more time he spends in her company, the more he begins to wonder how he will cope if Caroline’s memory never comes back…or if her enemies succeed in getting to her!
Caroline is terrified for her life and frustrated that she cannot remember anything about her life prior to the incident that had plunged her in acute danger. Now in Jack’s custody, Caroline knows she must trust him and hope that she remembers who is out to destroy her – especially as she begins to find herself drawn to the handsome Marshall who will move heaven and earth to keep her safe from danger.
Can Caroline recall her past before any hope of a future with Jack is destroyed for good?
His Brand of Justice is another superb romantic suspense novel by Delores Fossen. This much-loved writer once again blends nail-biting intrigue with spine-tingling chills, intense emotion and heart-pounding romance and has written a wonderful page-turner which grabs readers from page one and keeps them engrossed until the final full stop.
With characters readers cannot help but fall for, danger, desire and drama, His Brand of Justice is another must-read by Delores Fossen.
Suspicious activities, murder attempts and lovers reunited. Lots for readers to enjoy!
Caroline Moser was a profiler working with Gemma Hanson on a project at the local university. Unbeknownst to either woman their research assistant Eric Lang was a serial killer. He ended up abducting Caroline and struck her head hard enough for the injury to cause amnesia. Eric is no longer a problem but Caroline is still placed in the WITSEC program with her former lover Marshal Jack Slater overseeing her stay in the safe house. Due to the amnesia Caroline doesn't remember Jack... until she does. Her memory has returned but she doesn't trust any male in law enforcement because when she was being held by Eric she heard him talking to someone and heard the police radio in the background so she thinks someone in law enforcement is a dirty cop. Caroline just doesn't know who to trust. Then the location of her safe house is compromised and the attempts on her life begin. Caroline comes to trust Jack will keep her safe and believes he loves her. They just need to survive these attacks and find out who is behind them.
Marshal Jack Slater is hoping the love of his life Caroline Moser gets her memory back. One of the last things she said to Jack before being kidnapped was, "I love you" something he hadn't told her back. Also it is believed that Caroline knows who gunned down his sheriff father and the deputy that fateful day when she was kidnapped. When Caroline's safe house was compromised and the attempts on her life commenced Jack went into super protector mode. It is imperative to find out who is gunning for Caroline. Nothing can happen to her. He loves her too much to lose her.
His Brand of Justice by Delores Fossen is the fourth book in her Longview Ridge Ranch series. This is the story of the final Slater brother, Jack. His three brothers, Kellen (Safety Breach), Owen (A Threat to His Family) and Eli (Settling An Old Score) have all found their special someone. In each of the previous books in the series the unsolved crime of the death of their father overshadows the happiness of the family. Finally they have their closure. The killer is revealed.
I always enjoy Ms. Fossen's writing style in her romantic suspense stories. I love how she lays out all sorts of possibilities and suspects for the reader to cogitate on. Then she ties up all the suspicions for the final reveal. This is classic Delores Fossen and a great read.
An intense, energetic, action-filled, engaging, fast-paced whodunit that I inhaled at one sitting. Wow, what an ending to an explosive series! And it is written so brilliantly, given just enough background information, that even if you haven't read the previous books, you can easily follow along and get what's going on - or as much as it is possible in the midst of the chaotic life or death situation. Caroline Moser might be Marshal Jack Slater's ex, but there is nothing ex about his feelings towards her. The love and passion he feels for her are palpable. Yet he is doing everything he can to keep his feels in check and to stay focused, not to compromise Caroline's safety or the case they are working on. Caroline is weary to trust anyone after everything she has gone through, but her heart remembers Jack, and her instinct says she can rely on him. Maybe. I adored Jack and Caroline and how their story was told. There are no pretenses or games, they are honest, straightforward with their intentions, and their emotions. The only things that could possibly keep them apart are amnesia and/or death, and someone is working hard to make that happen. The thrillingly intense momentum builds up throughout the tale, every twist in the plot dangerous and potentially deadly, followed by fierce action and riveting passion, making the book unputdownable. I have read many of Fossen's romantic suspense stories before but this just might be my favorite... ~ Five Spoons
Caroline Moser a profiler is in witness protection after being held captive during the murder of Marshall Jack Slaters father. Everyone believes that she knows the identity of the killer, but she has amnesia. Now someone is trying to kill Caroline, and she must decide who in law enforcement she can trust. Mostly, can she trust Jack, the man she told that she loved him right before her nightmare began?
Jack Slater and his brothers have been trying to solve the murder of their father, and Caroline looks like the best chance they have to finally get their answers. Jack will stop at nothing to protect Caroline and find out who is trying to kill her. The clock is racing, and they are running out of time.
This story is fast paced and full of action. Delores Fossen does not disappoint in this fourth book of the series. She does a brilliant job of catching up the reader on the history of the series, so you could read this as a stand a lone novel but you will want to read the whole series after this action packed book. Thank you so much to the author Delores Fossen, Harlequin Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.
Caroline is a witness to a murder. However, due to trauma, she has lost her memory of the events. She is in protective custody with her ex-boyfriend, Jack, in charge. As her memory returns, she is not sure if she should trust him. But she just can’t stay away from him.
As most of you know, romantic suspense is a guilty pleasure. If I am in a reading rut, I can usually pick one up and it gets me back in the groove. This is a typical romantic suspense, hot guy, hot girl, hate and love all mixed together. These two have a great chemistry and the story moves quickly. I fell in love with Jack. He is someone I definitely want on my side.
However, I did feel the writing is rushed in spots. And maybe some overdramatizing exists too. But, it is a lightening quick, good read if you are short on time.
I have never read this author before and this novel is part of a series. So, I did feel like I was missing something. I do recommend picking up the other books first. I would have liked to have known more about Caroline and Jack’s relationship prior to this story.
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.
I love a bit of danger and intrigue with my romance, and His Brand of Justice fills the bill for all three. Delores Fossen certainly knows a thing or two about tension building, and it runs high in this book. Caroline's amnesia was a big part of that, and it's impossible not to feel for Jack in that situation. There was a lot of talk about Caroline having panic attacks, but it never went anywhere. She didn't actually have a panic attack, it was just mentioned several times. That's not a big deal, but it kind of felt out of place when nothing came of it. Other than that, the story has good flow, and it's so easy to get caught up in the romance and intrigue. Things do go a little over the top and stretch the imagination in terms of believability, but the pacing and storyline keep the pages turning. Besides, a nail-biting bit of escapism, believable or not, is the perfect thing to while away a lazy weekend. I came into this series a bit late and only caught the last book and this one, but I've found the characters and stories engaging and fun, so I'll be checking out the earlier books, and I'll be interested to see what this author does next.
His Brand of Justice is the Fourth Book in the Longview Ridge Ranch series by Delores Fossen. Even though this book is part of series you may read it as a standalone. I did, Fossen gave enough details to keep you in the loop and not leave you feeling lost.
Jack Slater is a Marshall and is in charge of protecting his girlfriend whom has amnesia and doesn't know they are involved. Slater is protecting her from the perp whom he believes killed his father. While also tracking a sex traffic ring.
Caroline Moser is a profiler whom was kidnapped, help hostage and injured. She now has no memory of the night or the murder of Jack's father well until they all come rushing back to her at once. Now she needs to figure out exactly who she can trust and how she can help Jack solve the murder of his father.
The chemistry between Caroline and Jack is instantaneous. You can feel the charge in the air as you read about them. I adored them.
*I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
I haven't read any of the previous installments in this series, but after reading this you can definitely pick it up without having read them - but I feel like some of the continuing storylines and character connections would have more depth had I picked up the others first.
The story itself is action packed and very fast paced, I definitely flew through this story. I really enjoyed Jack's character, but sometimes wasn't always loving Caroline - though some of the things I didn't like could definitely be explained with her traumatic experiences and injuries which happened before the book started. It did grate on me a bit that her panic attacks were talked about so much, but I never saw one happen in the book.
All in all this was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I may at some point go back to read the others so I can better understand all the back story.
Caroline was kidnapped and lost her memory of why. Marshal Jack Slater is the guy watching over her in witness protection. She may know the person who killed his father so he wants to keep his eyes on her in case she gets her memory back. Things go on the wayside when it seems their location is compromised and now they are on the run to keep safe.
There was so much going on in this book that keep readers till the very end. I loved getting to know the characters and their history. Then there was the wondering about what happens to Caroline that she ended up with amnesia and if she really knew who was behind the death of Jacks father. There was someone obviously out to get her and keep her quiet but the question is who and why. I loved every moment of this book watching as they worked on the case and seeing how it all ended. Highly Recommend!
I was so excited with this book, it's the closure of Longview Ridge Ranch Series. The who and the why of the murder of Marshal Jack Slater’s father willl finally revealed. Yep I'm super super excited and this book totally delivered, I got all the answers and the suspense and I got the romance too and a dash of steaminess. Although I felt all a bit too rushed in the end, I'm still a happy satisfied reader. And there's no doubt that I love all the characters, I loveeeeee Slater Brothers, all are law enforcements, all willing to do anything to protect their loved ones, just my type of heroes, and the heroines, they're all a badass woman, so they're all make badass couple, so what's not to love, right?!?!
If you're looking for a suspense romance read, I totally recommend this Longview Ridge Ranch Series.
Another in the Longview Ridge Ranch series, in which Caroline Moser was a witness to Jack Slater's father's murder, but her loss of memory has meant she can't say who did the deed. When she is at the witness protection house, however, someone tries to kill her, thinking she has shared the information. But she hasn't, so when Jack is determined to protect her, he puts both of them--along with his other brothers--in danger as they seek justice for the former sheriff.
When other people end up dead who might have had information to share, Caroline is determined to flush out the killer by setting herself up as bait for this particular nasty cat. And when she's successful but ends up with a knife at her throat, it's up to Jack to save her. But can he do so in time to prevent yet another murder?
HIS BRAND OF JUSTICE by Delores Fossen is the fourth book of the Longview Ridge Ranch series. Jack Slater is nowhere near in finding out who killed his father. The only person who might know is Caroline Moser, but she had no memory of the murder, her abduction . . . or Jack. When her witness-protection safe house is compromised, she ends up in Jack’s protective custody. She needs to trust him to help her recall her past before a murderer steals their future. HIS BRAND OF JUSTICE is an action-packed adventure about the heroes seeking justice by solving the crime while dodging bullets and succumbing to sizzling heat between them. Delores Fossen has outdone herself with her when the final moment of truth has taken me by surprise.
There is nothing like a suspense that has a Marshall to help you in the clues. He also has another that can help him which we get to see in here. I have not read too many of her books but the ones I have I like. I also happen to have read another with someone who has no memory in the space Caroline. Jack will have his hands full with the custody and murder. While all this is going on chemistry also when love is the backbone you flow along with this suspense. We get to see when you know she is getting it back. The suspense is above the norm so that you are nose to story so that you are wanting to grab those clues. This is wrapped up the way a suspense needs to be so jump on in.
I loved Settling an Old Score, book 3 in the Longview Ridge series and it was good to revisit the series for the last installment.
Caroline is in a safe house and Jack has to protect her from a murderer who was persuing her in the previous book. I was eager for this book by the end of Settling an Old Score. because I was generally really concerned for Caroline and her young son as well as for Jack.
A quick story and a little rushed at the beginning. A good way to spend a few hours and definitely characters to root for.
Thanks to Delores Fossen and publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
Who is Jack? What humorous thing does he say that flops? Who is Caroline? What is going on in her life? What does Jack do for a living? Who is Teagan? How does Jack know or meet Caroline, Teagan, and Lucille? I like Raylene. Not sure how I felt about Kingston, Eric, Lily, or Zeller. Oh my goodness!! So many murders, so much suspense! What is happening and why? What does the change that happens with Caroline have to do with anything? Read and see!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT from Netgalley FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
We finally get to find out who killed Jack and the brothers father in this book. Caroline who Jack has loved since forever finally gets her memory back but doesn't remember who killed their dad...he is so pissed when he thinks she has gotten her memories back and kept that from him. There is a wild ride trying to stay alive and figure out who is behind all this..I have to say it wasn't who I thought it was..but so glad they finally got it figured out in the end..A great edge of your seat thriller
This story is part of a series. I found it quite disjointed with a lot of characters and history that didnt make sense . I wouldn't recommend reading it unless you've read prior books.
I lost interest because the amount of characters and storylines was confusing. Again, reading the stories in order might have helped. So I may go back and read the other stories in the series
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
In this novel, the last in the series, Jack Slater is trying to keep his lover Caroline safe from someone who wants to kill her. There are several good suspects who might have reason to want Caroline permanently silenced, including a possible dirty cop. As Jack tries to find the person who is trying to kill Caroline, he encounters several challenging situations. There is a lot of action in this novel and some tense scenes; and, finally, the brothers find closure for their father's murder.
Anesthesia plot line barely lasted 20 pages. Most of the book was set at a police station which was boring. This is like the fourth book in a companion series but you absolutely need to read the other ones before this one to get the full story. Too much tech which was also a boring part .Basically I did not care
I enjoyed reading Jack and Caroline’s story. The three suspects weren’t very likable. I have to say I am glad that the culprit wasn’t predictable. Now the entire family has answers about who killed their father. Good series!
His Brand of Justice (Longview Ridge Ranch #4). By Delores Fossen. 2020. Harlequin Intrigue (ARC eBook).
His Brand of Justice is the fourth book in her Longview Ridge Ranch series and is the story of the last Slater brother, Jack. The overarching mystery of the unsolved murder of their father is finally resolved.
Caroline Moser was a profiler working on a project about serial killers. Unbeknownst to her was that research assistant Eric Lang was a serial killer himself. She ended up struck on the head and kidnapped by Lang. On the same day, Sheriff Slater was killed. When she is rescued she is put into the WITSEC program under the custody of Marshall Jack Slater. Prior to this, Jack and Caroline had been lovers, but Caroline’s amnesia put a hamper on their relationship.
Now, even with most of her memories returned, Caroline doesn’t know who to trust. She decides to keep her distance from law enforcement, including Jack and his brothers. But then her safe house is compromised and Jack refuses to let her out of his sight as he and his brothers are unable to detain several suspects, including another marshall who had been working with Sheriff Slater before his death. Caroline will have to trust Jack if they are to put everything to rights and reunite.
His Brand of Justice is another solid installment in the series. And as the final book, Fossen does a good job tying up all the suspicions and suspects while not neglecting the romance. Overall a great romantic suspense series!
