Cute YA sports romance. A story about ambition, relationships and choices. Ally, a budding Olympic gymnast transfers to an exclusive college full of rich kids like herself , leaving behind her friends and, above all, her coach. After a serious injury and this upheaval , she's determined not to give up on her dreams. Ryan is the complete opposite, laidback and easygoing. One thing Ally is sure of is that she wants no distractions especially from annoying pranksters. However cute and kissable!!! Clean romance, ideal for teens and the young at heart.
I wasn't too sure I liked Ally at first. She's so driven to succeed that it's pathological - literally. And seeing Ryan from her perspective makes him look annoying.
But then the author begins opening up each character to us, and how they influence each other for the better. And I'm a total sucker for romances where each of the protagonists helps the other to become a better version of themselves
Ryan's efforts to win over Ally helped win me over to their story. Ally has to undergo some pain to find the balance & healing that she needs in her life, but the extended view of their happily-ever-after is so romantic and sweet that the ending leaves you with a megadose of warm fuzzies to warm your heart long after you're done!
I don't think there is a book that Sally has written that I haven't loved. She has such a real feel for the issues that kids face these days in their teen years! Ally is a very driven girl who has her world spun after an accident in the gym derails her dreams. Her parent send her to a boarding school where she mets Ryan. The character development in this story is outstanding. Thanks so much for writing a fantastic story!
Perfect summer beach read! Light hearted read about a competitive gymnast who learns there is more to life than the gym. Well written, and a sweet story line!
I’m going to say this ..... hmm this book was okay. I wasn’t really into it. Took me a while to finish it because I stop and read another book which was boring than on top of that read any other good book. Then went back to this one. It was good, but after a while, I got bored with it and was over reading it.
I just glad that Ally came to her senses but that was after the second accident she had when it came to gymnastics. I was glad she also apologize to Ryan because she was mean to him. When he was nice to her and was trying to help her.
But it had to take her “Ally” to learn from her mistakes especially when she overdid herself when it came to gymnastics.
This was a cute story about a high school relationship. Ally is a gymnast and meets Ryan (the class clown) when her parents send her away to boarding school. Ally is driven with a very good work ethic when it comes to gymnastics... Maybe too good. Ryan likes to have fun and take life easy. I like their relationship and the difficulties they encounter seem realistic especially when their personalities are so different. I did struggle to like Ally's mom. As a mom myself, I can't understand why she would send her daughter away when her daughter is going through a difficult time. I would recommend this to teenage girls. It's clean, pretty light, and a nice escape.
This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments; BUT it also had lot of just okay moments that really didn't bring the same warm smile to my face as the other moments had. However, even though there were times when it would lull and I would begin to ponder about choosing another novel, something would grab my attention again- just enough to reel me back in to stick by the side of this author. In the end, though, I'm glad I finished reading this novel.
This was a sweet and clean read! I enjoyed getting to know Ally and Ryan. Ryan seems to be the class clown, but is very intelligent. Ally is a gymnast whose goal is to be in the Olympics. I would have loved to have seen both of their points of view and in this book we only see Ally’s. But overall and great, clean read that any age can read. I did receive an ARC and have voluntarily chosen to review it.
This is a sweet story of teenagers, struggling, overcoming, maturing, learning, hoping, and falling in love. Ally is certainly a competitor who knows what she wants and what she needs to do to reach her goals. Ryan is a silly, fun loving fellow who knows what he wants and how to get it. He’s a planner and a bit of a conniver. I loved getting to know them. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. The plot is well thought out and interesting.
Ally is focused on getting to the olympics in gymnastics. When her parents drop her off At Mt. Reneir School, she doesn't know what to think. Then she's paired up with a class clown.... Oh my.. Ryan likes the new girl. Can he show her that he's more than just a funny guy? Can he help her have a little fun in life? Find out in this fabulous YA romance:) Happy Reading!
I enjoyed this clean YA romance Ally fell for Ryan, who seemed to be the class clown, but what she learned from him was that you can have goals but not to let them consume your life to the point where nothing else fits in such as; fun, love, friends etc. Ally's goal was to make the US Gymnastics team, but she pushed herself too far. I would highly recommend it.
I am reviewing ”Don’t Kiss the Class Clown” after reading a free ARC copy from the author. Ally is 16, focused and determined to make the Olympic team. But injuries, academia and Ryan threaten to derail her last chance at success. Life lessons are learned and a series of firsts are experienced in this sweet & clean teen billionaire romance.
I really enjoyed this Billionaire academy, high school romance. There was humor and gymnastics and family and conflict. Sweet times and pain. Lots of figuring out to be done by our adolescent characters. A very enjoyable read and my first by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
