Calla Marshall dives into her studies and job at a human attorney’s office. She distances herself from the pride to keep her mind off of touching a male after she turned twenty. Her reasons for getting her law degree are valid, but the secret she and her brother keep weighs heavy on her mind when her panther finally realizes Taze is to be her destined mate.

It’ll be a long ride of uncertainty and growth, but will Calla finally return to the female he fell in love with in the training facility all those years ago?

Theresa daydreams of the perfect love affair and takes those ideas to paper.
This book is now my favorite in this series. Calla has dealt with a lot in her past and she is trying to deal with it and also is going to school to become a lawyer to help her species. Taze is a Guardian of the tribe and he is pretty sure Calla is his mate. He is very protective and patient with her. He decides to leave the first touch up to her to see if they are true mates. Will Calla touch Taze and they become mates? To find out read this book. Theresa always leaves you anticipating the next book.
This is Book 11 in the Rise of the Pride series. You don’t have to read the first books in the series, but it does help to know what’s going on. Calla is Taze’s mate, but she refuses to accept it because of things that have happened in her earlier life. Her brother refuses to allow it because of those same things and he really doesn’t like Taze. These secrets are hurting them, but they can’t tell them. I have to say that Calla was so strong in one way because she wanted to help the Pride during the war against the Gadai, but I could have easily kicked her butt! And her brother, let’s just say that I have a love/hate relationship with him because he wanted to help his sister but then he went way overboard and ended up causing problems between her and Taze. Now Taze was amazing. He tried to keep his distance, but he also wanted to help her overcome her secrets. So, let’s just say that I had a love/hate relationship with all the characters in this book. I’m glad that they finally grew a backbone in the end. I can’t wait to read more in this series.
I love all of Theresa Hissong's work. But her Panthers hold a special place in my heart. I was ready for Taxes and Calla's story. With a well evolved plot and such great characters it was a can't put down read. I can't wait to see the next one. I also can't wait for Mal to get his story. If you haven't read the series... Why wait.. Start at the very beginning. You will not be disappointed.
I absolutely LOVED Taze's book/story and finally being able to mate his true love, Calla. This book has everything you want when reading a book, especially the paranormal genre. There is a lot of action with the Guardians and Protectors working with Agent Tabor and the FBI, rescuing girls that have been taken and drugged with Khat and saving them from rogue wolves that we learn who the real Holden Manzelli truly is, which was such a WOW moment for me! I love when a book allows me to experience a mixture of emotions and Theresa Hissong did that with this story. This story was exciting, I had happiness for Taze and Calla, but I experienced heartache for Calla and what she sadly admitted to enduring when she and her brother Malaki were held captive years ago. This is the 11th book to the Rise of the Pride Series and I honestly never want it to end! I fell in love with this Series from the very first book, Talon and have fallen in love with the entire pride! I'm already excited for the next book and I also want to say to Theresa Hissong that only did I love this book, but I also love the dedication you wrote for this specific book and I couldn't agree with you more! Thank you for writing such a great Series!
This is the eleventh book in this series. They should be read in order. The pride is still working with the human FBI to try and stop the gadai. Taze has known for awhile that Calla is his mate. However, she isn’t ready for a mate. Plus, he and her brother don’t get along at all. Calla pulled back from being a possible warrior and protector. There is more going on as well. Her brother and her haven’t told anyone everything that happened when they were kidnapped by those wolves. It affected Calla more than she realizes. She wants to get help and she is going to. Maybe with help she can be with Taze. She wants him but she is just so scared. Taze will do everything in his power to help Calla. The pride are getting closer to figuring out who is behind the Gadai. When they figure things out, they are beyond surprised and everything begins to make sense. Will they be able to catch the person before they get away? I love this series so hard. There are always twists and turns. Each couple has their own special place in my heart. They always have a special story and just enough trouble to make you feel for them. I can’t wait for the next book. I can’t recommend this book/series enough.
Oh my goodness, I ugly cried while reading this book. It is definitely not safe for work either. I had to take a break so that I can calm my nerves. Calla and Taze have a turbulent relationship. Taze knows that Calla is for him. But her brother says otherwise. We find out a lot about these three. Let me say that this is not for the faint of heart. Taze will do anything for Calla even if that means to just be friends with her. It also means that he needs to put his issues aside with her brother. This push and pull dynamic that these two have is crazy and stessfull. Let's not forget to mention the intensity of the mating call to. So if you want a book that will drop you to your knees and break down then this book will do it. So far this series has yet to disappoint me. I hope that there is more to come.
Taze and Calla finally get their chance for a mating in this story but unfortunately like everything in life, it’s a long and hard road as they have to first overcome some of Calla’s demons from her captivity with the wolves when she was younger, not to mention her brother having issues with her future mate😢
This story was as usual amazing but I had a moment where I needed tissues as I was so overcome with emotion when Calla was sharing her past with Taze😳 I’m looking forward to Storm’s story next❣️
Another great read from This talented author! So many feels in it. Lots of action and some adventure. Some intrigue and some sexy scenes. Some parts made me want to throat punch some wolves. May be hard to read at times, but necessary to the story. Taze and Calla go through some hard patches. Taze will not give up. Get this book so you also can enjoy the story that unfolds. I could not put it down... From a True Fan... Pam James
Calla & Taze have known that they were mates for awhile now but, haven’t touch to find out for sure as they have some obstacles in their path. 1 being Calla’s brother & a secret that she’s been holding onto since her kidnapping.
All of this comes to head in this book & they also discover who is the mystery bad guy.
But, to find out what the secret was & who the bad guy really is you have to read the book.
My hunch was correct on who was the bad guy. I loved Calla and Taze. I wasn't sure about him at first. Taze's story was one of my favorites. This was the 11th book in the series but there are many more mates to be had. I am surprised that this is a cliffhanger. I sincerely hope MS. Hissong is busy writing the next few. I definitely recommend the series (in order) my friends.
This book was amazing! Gaze and Calla knew they were mates, but Calla had PTSD because of a traumatic event in her past. She believes she will never be able to get past it,and decides she will never mate. Taze, along with the healer, help Calla believe in herself. I loved this book!
Calla had been through so much at the hands of the wolves that had kidnapped her and her brother. Taze just wanted to help her in anyway he could. He knew they were mates. I loved this book. They just keep getting better and better. I am looking forward to Storm's book next.
Calla knows that Taze is her mate but due to conflict between Taze and her brother Malachi she rejects the facts. Calla has an emotional history and she has to overcome her fears in order to accept what she already knows Taze is her fated mate.
OMG! this was what we have been waiting for, Calla and Taze mated. But oh my what she had to release first. And the ever scary cliffhanger ending. Storms book better be next!
Love this series can't wait for the next book it keeps getting better and better can't wait!!! Everyone should read this series I just got this book today couldn't put down!!
This book is full of the lot. Take is a guardian for the Shaw Pride & is working with the FBI to stop the War. Calla is his mate, but is having problems with coming to terms with it. This book is all about their life & what else is going on!
On sweet Calla. It has been 6 years since they found Calla and her brother. It has been 2 since she has come of age. Take has been very patient. His patience is running a little thin though.
Calla is Taze’s mate, but she refuses to accept it because of things that have happened in her earlier life. Her brother refuses to allow it because of those same things and he really doesn’t like Taze.
Will Calla touch Taze and will they become mates? To find out read this book. TH always leaves you anticipating the next book. I can't wait for her next book.
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
OMG. This series just keeps getting better & better.
If I could have given it a higher rating I would have. I hate reviews that give too much away, so here is what I have. I loved finding out what happened to Calla & Malaki. I really loved how Taze handled everything. Not only did I smile & laugh reading this book, I cried. I was really moved. You have to read this series and especially this book. I can't wait for number 12. I'm excited to see what happens with Storm and Malaki.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved getting more of Taze and Calla but there was so much pain in this book, especially from what Calla and Mal had been through when they’d been held by the wolves, they’d hidden most of what happened from Talon and Harold the healer. It’s no wonder Calla didn’t want a mate and why Mal is so protective to Calla. The moment Calla finally told Taze everything you could just feel both their pain it made me tear up. I loved how supportive Taze was but he did have a few moments when he was trying to get Calla to come back to fight and being a Protector as she was so good at it, that was mainly because the war with the Gadai but once Calla explained that being a protector isn’t what she wants and she thinks that she can make a huge difference for the Pride and shifters alike by becoming a lawyer, after her explanation he fully accepted that she had to do things her way but really loved it when she wanted to train with him again again for her own wellbeing but not to become a Protector as she was happy and it helped keep her sane. I loved that Taze let Calla lead and forced himself not to touch her and said that when she’s ready she has to be the one to touch him so the decision is hers and hers alone.
I loved how much Taze grew up from being a complete a*sehole when the females first wanted to train to fight to being Calla’s fiercest supporter and even offering to help her train. After Mal and Calla have words when he found out that Calla and Taze are mated, Calla tries to get him to talk to a professional since it’s helped her but he won’t as he has so much guilt over failing her when they were held captive by the wolves, even though he did everything he could to try and save her so he has PTSD and major anger issues but his anger is a coping mechanism for him so I really hope he finds what he’s looking for when he leaves as he needs something to help him. Man, I really can’t wait to see what happens next as Agent Murdoch/the Gadai alpha needs to get caught so Talon can dole out shifter justice. He’s done so much wrong and is setting shifters back in human’s eyes as they’re not just mindless animals targeting humans especially females and turning them against their will and basically mind controlling them to do his wishes. I’m looking forward to reading Storm and Amaya’s story since she was ab*ucted from the animal clinic, they think by the Gadai. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
