Mapleville Omegas #3

Mardi Gras with His Omega

Rate this book
Whatever happens at Mardi Gras stays at Mardi Gras—unless you leave there pregnant.

When omega Brent accepts his future stepfather’s all-expense paid trip to NOLA to meet his future half-brother, Jaxon, he anticipates they will hang out together, drink a little too much, and collect beads. What he doesn’t expect is for Jaxon to fly out of town as soon as he arrives, leaving him with an apartment full of mooching guests.

Alpha Joaquim is nomadic by nature, taking one traveling nursing job after another, never growing roots. After his last day working in NOLA, he decides to burn some of his restless energy and explore the town. The second he sees Brent on the balcony, he knows he needs to meet the sexy nerd who captured his attention.

After one steamy night, both are hooked. Unfortunately, fate has other plans—a fire at Jaxon’s apartment calls Brent away, and a misplaced note ruins all chances of them reconnecting—or does it?

Mardis Gras with his Omega is a super sweet with some knotty heat non-shifter mpreg romance.

As a non-Twitter savy person I was a bit confused, but if that's how it works then that puts paid to the Village Voice personals lol. Mardi Gras with His Omega was a light, non-angst Alpha/omega romance. And to be honest, knowing it was written by three authors does show in the style and consistency of the writing. They either need an editor or a really good beta team to catch those issues.

This was book 3 in the "Mapleville Omegas" series. Brent is an omega who we met in book 2 he is Kayson's cousin and Vivian's son. After catching his boyfriend with another man his son to be stepfather Henry gives him a trip to New Orleans during Mardi Grad to meet his son Jaxson only he leaves as soon as he gets there leaving him with his friends. While throwing beads he meets a hot sexy alpha. Alpha Joaquim is a travelling nurse when he looks up and sees Brent its love at first sight. After spending the night together Brent leaves to handle an emergency without telling Jay and he is heartbroken so he moves on to his next assignment. When Brent returns he is also heartbroken because Jay left and the note he wrote is on the floor so he takes to social media. This was a pretty good read with the help of Twitter these two find there way back together just in time because they got a big surprise coming. This was a good read with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Mardi Gras with His Omega (Mapleville Omegas #3) (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the author(s) for an honest review.

  #AMardiGrasLoveStory

Wow..I just finished an absolutely beautiful, heart-warming, feel good type of story.  I feel like I should be walking around dreamily as I allow the events of this story to settle into my brain, as they are thoughts I do not want to forget.  This new release is one of those types of books that will stay with me for a long time to come.  Mardi Gras with His Omega by Lorelei M. Hart and Ophelia Heart, is a story from the Omegaverse, where things are a bit different, and was therefore an even more of a welcomed read, as I felt myself actually loving it within the very first chapter.  As a result, I now feel like I have cheerful little birds flying around my head with an over-abundance of warm fuzzies which are keeping me all gooey and content at the culmination of this most recent read.

Mardi Gras with His Omega is the third book in the Mapleville Omegas Series, which follows two young men, Brent and Joaquim, who meet at a chance encounter at a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, and, as the existence of that indescribable pull was breathlessly evident, both men begin this journey filled with intrigue, desire, protection, love, sacrifice, and, dedication.  As both men throw caution to the wind, with fate's guidance and with the help of social media and helpful admirers, Brent and Joaquim grab on to the strengthened hand of the other and as they answer this desired call, begin this wonderful, and, incredibly loving life with that one person that each had been searching for their entire lives..

This story is such a sweet, humorous, somewhat angsty, you're-rooting-for-the-characters kind-of-read, that I felt myself not only squeeling at various moments, but, I also found myself hoping and wishing for a positive outcome for Brent and Joaquim.  I absolutely loved Brent in the previous book, and, was so excited to see that he had his own story.  As I read Mardi Gras with His Omega, I continued to love him with his adorable quirkiness and felt such joy in seeing the love for his family develop into this deep-seeded love that was so wonderfully developed and could be seen as this love that seemed to wrap its own arms around his newly formed family.  I also felt such a loving sense of pride for Joaquim for his experience in the medical field that I was not surprised what-so-ever with his insurmountable amount of kindness and love for Brent..

Having also read the prior book in the series, it was such a joy to see cameos from the characters and felt like I was visiting with old friends.  I loved the storyline, because you know..alphas and omegas.  'Nuf said about that..  The plot had me immediately hooked with its scented-form of insta-love, and, with its hint of angst, had me reading without wanting to take a break.  While there wasn't a complete development to the characters, there was just enough to positively contribute to the overall smoothness of the story.  That being said, along with minor seemingly unresolved issues, I still enjoyed it, and, didn't want it to end..

I am loving the writing style of these authors.  Even though there are some typos within the story, and I had to re-read for better clarification, at times, it was, once again, an enjoyable and welcomed read.  I absolutely loved the characters, found the storyline, plot, and the setting(s) to be realistic and well written, and, thoroughly look forward to reading additional stories from this world, where their depth will no-doubt pull me in as this story did as well.  :)

This is the third book in The Mapleville Omegas Series. A delightful book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Brent an Omega and Joaquim an Alpha are the MC’s of this book and mates. There was a nurse, New Orleans, a baby, social media, travel, a flower shop, family, moving, pregnancy, school, jobs and so much more in this book.

Here is a quote from the book, “Hours later, I left the hospital, my satchel over my shoulder and jacket in my hand. The spring was making the weather warmer, and soon I’d be going somewhere else. “Are you off?” It was Harris talking to me from right outside the doors, holding his phone. The kid had an issue. “Yeah, I’m off. Harris, shouldn’t you be home?” “Look, I know you think I’m nuts, but I really think you should see this. Just take a look and, if it’s not him, you can tell me to shut up, and I won’t talk to you about it again.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can recommend. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

What a sweet story! Brent and Joaquim have a one night stand during Mardi Gras. Both men quickly realize they want more; but a lost note causes each to leave New Orleans, disappointed and alone. Social media then comes into play, as each man tweets his longing to find the other. Soon, Brent discovers that he came away from that magical night with more than memories; and the Twitter-verse helps Joaquim find him and show up just after that realization.
I really love the characters in this series. The main couple here are so in love, and admit it freely, so there isn't much relationship angst. It's primarily a tale of two men getting to know the person they've fallen for, and it is so good! I recommend this to fans of sweet and spicy romance that includes humor, emotionally available men, and mpreg. So good!

I love Hart's mpreg books, but this one had a lot of typographical errors that need to be corrected. Aside from that, the story was really good. I kind of loved the whole social media helps them come together again. It's very relevant to this day and age. They are really cute together. Brent has trouble with dealing with conversations that make him uncomfortable or afraid, and I hope Jay can help bring him out of that a bit more in the future. Jay was such a supportive alpha for Brent, and they fall into each other's families relatively easily.

After a wonderful night during mardi gras, Brent and Joaquim are hooked on each other but because of a misunderstanding, each goes home with no information on the other. But thanks o social media, they just might be able to connect again. If they do, will Joaquim be happy with the big surprise Brent has for him!

I was overjoyed to discover that Brent is Kayson’s cousin and Aunt Viv’s son! I adored Aunt Viv when I met her in Kayson and Reid’s novella, so getting a little more of her sarcastic wit plus another sweet and sexy romance was a win-win in my eyes. So far I have to admit I’m enjoying these short and very cute romances.

NOLA during Mardi Gras takes crowded, drunk, high, and sex to a whole new level that can only be understood if you’ve experienced it. Brent and Joaquim have an instant attraction and bond when they see each other and it doesn’t take long to fall into bed. When Joaquim wakes up alone the next morning he figures Brent just wanted a one-night stand and, feeling incredibly sad about not getting a last name, or even a phone number, he tweets his disappointment with some very cute hashtags attached.
