Love Me or Leave Me Alone

Rate this book
Mission Alexander is the epitome of a boss. Rude, uncaring, and sexy all at the same time, Mission is who he is unapologetically. Nothing comes before his money or his business. Now that he has conquered the illegal world, his cousin urges him to cross over into the legit side. Not liking change, Mission resists this new venture until he realizes the connection it has with someone he wants. Tayah Nolan! Tayah Nolan has always settled to make things in her life easy; this includes her fiance and career. Feeling like her life is stagnant, with some encouragement from her sister, Myon, she finally takes a risk that will change her whole life. Meeting Mission Alexander forces some big changes in her personal and professional life, but is she prepared to embrace either one? Myon Nolan is what some would call a free spirit. Living life day to day, she prefers things to just flow. This has caused her to stay with her boyfriend, Niko, even though she knows he constantly cheats on her. A quick run in with Navarro Alexander has Myon realizing what a real man is like, even before she wants to acknowledge it. Navarro Alexander, lawyer by day and thug by night, has been stuck in his situationship for far to long. He is comfortable where he is at, but in the back of his mind, he knows he wants more. A rough upbringing causes Navarro to care more than he should for people. Navigating through their personal and professional lives, these four must figure out how everything fits together. The puzzle won't be easy and will have each of them reevaluating things. As they go back and forth, there will come a time when they each think, "Love Me or Leave Me Alone."

Mission accomplished

When I first started this story, I wasn't too fond of Mission. His whole rude man personality drew lighter and eventually warmer by the end of the story. The way Mission went about his business was remarkable. Him finding Tayah and making her his mission to crack, that process was too funny. The story also had sister heroines, with Tayah's sister Myon falling for Mission's friend and business partner, Navarro. I liked Navarro and Mission's relationship. Like-minded in business and the way they moved in this story. There
were a lot of events and episodes in this tale, with the right amount of grit. The story was a good read. Now, I need to see if Trevor Holt has something to tell us...

The second time around was just as exhilarating.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - 4.0 / 5.0 !!

This was my first read by K.C. Mills, and while I can see why her name carries weight in urban romance, this book left me with mixed feelings. Some parts of the story felt dragged out and, in hindsight, a bit unnecessary once everything was revealed. I personally wasn’t a fan of how the plot was initially set up, and I found myself waiting for the story to really pick up.

Still, there were highlights that kept me tuned in. Mission and Tayah were characters I connected with at times and at other times, they frustrated me. Their chemistry was undeniable, and I enjoyed the tension and vulnerability in their dynamic, especially when their walls started to come down. But just as often, their choices or lack of healthy communication left me frustrated. I guess that’s what made them feel real, though—flawed but still worth rooting for.

Overall, K.C. Mills did a good job weaving in themes like loyalty, heartbreak, romance, and emotional baggage. The family and street dynamics added another layer to the story, making it feel rooted in something real and relatable.

I’m honestly stuck between a 3.5 and 4-star rating, but I’m rounding up because of the potential I see in the main characters and the emotional beats that did land well. If there’s a part two, I’d love to see more character development and stronger pacing. That could easily push this series to a solid 5-star for me.

This book was the perfect mix of ghetto and romance. Tayah and Myon were something else. Mission and Navarro were the perfect blend of rude, mannish and thug. The ending made me swoon. Loved it!!

This was…A LOT

** DISCLAIMER—THERE ARE SPOILERS AFTER THE 1st PARAGRAPH***

This book had some okay/good moments but overall it was a hard read FOR ME, I can’t lie. 56 chapters and I was pretty much over it by chapter 9 but I forced myself to keep reading it bc I wanted to find some redeemable characteristics in Mission and whew it was hard…VERY HARD! Even with the little ways he “changed” it really wasn’t enough to turn it for me. I have to agree with another reviewer Mission was TOO much. The way his character was written, the arrogance, aggression, and disrespect, not just to his enemies but to Tayah was overkill. It made him so unlikeable.

The whole “my way or the high way” thing that mission and Varro had going on is crazy. Especially when they were just meeting/getting to know Tayah and Myon. It was like Tayah and Myon had to just swallow everything and get over it. Even when they expressed their feelings it was like this is what it is move on and that’s nasty. Like Mission inviting them to the section, not getting them wristbands then being petty by letting the random girl give him h***d because he was mad Tayah wasn’t pressed to be up there and was in the club dancing with other ppl. But when she got up there and seen what the girl was doing he laughed in her face, acted like she was being childish, and basically SA’d her in the bathroom. Then the whole thing with Harper he dismissed Tayah feelings, telling her to get over it but he went crazy when Tarique was at her apartment or even when tarique seen them on the street and mission told him not to call her Tay bc that’s what he calls her..Man are you nuts, first of all that’s too familiar for you bc yall aren’t dating and really just met but you telling the man she was engaged to that he can’t call her Tay when he’s been calling her that for years?!! Anytime Tay expressed her feelings about his nonsense or when he was talking out his neck to her it was shut up, get over it, I’m not going back and forth, you being sensitive. But whenever he was in his feelings he could fly off the handlebars with her.

Varro was a little more likable than Mission but not by much. He was another one doing what he wanted when it came to Myon and she just had to accept it. Myon did set herself up in the beginning by letting him go between her and Tiv but when she finally started stepping back Varro wouldn’t let her. He was manipulating her with his whole I’m a good guy I can’t just walk away from Tiv even though i wanna be with you I still gotta do for her. Like okay, making sure she don’t go to jail is one thing but paying her bills for year and giving her money bc he claimed he couldn’t leave her high and dry is crazy. If Myon had even thought about helping Niko in any kind of way Varro would’ve lost his mind! There wouldn’t have been any explanation Myon could’ve given that would’ve made him okay with her doing anything for Niko but he can put Tiv up in a hotel suite for months, then pay her rent at a new apartment for a year and Myon just gotta shut up and deal with it? Insane. Even when he was meeting Tiv at the hotel and then the doctors appointment, him claiming he wasn’t lying to Myon he was just choosing when to tell her, he wouldn’t have accepted if Myon moved like that.

Lastly, Tayah and Myon’s relationship was the best part about this book and even that had me side eyeing bc Myon was telling all of Tayahs business to Varro when she didn’t know that man from Adam. Doing your sister like that is foul no matter how you spin it. That stuff she was telling Varro should’ve never happened at any point but especially not within their first conversations.

I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to this author and give some of the other books a chance but i am a little skeptical because this book was very male centered in the worst kind of way so if the other writings are going to be complete blatant disrespect of the women they’re perusing and little to no compromise, I’m sorry, those aren’t the romance/love stories I’m interested in reading. Relationships and love aren’t perfect so that’s not what I’m expecting but i need more balance than what this book was putting out.

This was a solid 3.475 to 3.5 read for me. The story line was one i enjoyed, even though the book either wasn't edited...or wasn't edited well.

There was so much foolery going on in this book that frustrated me to no end. For instance, I couldn't understand (although I know it happens) how a woman who was ALWAYS at her man's neck because he was a serial cheater, would then KNOWINGLY fall into the role of side piece right after that first toxic relationship ended. You would think that because you didn't like the feeling of being cheated on, you wouldn't do that to someone else, but I guess that's too much like right.

I think one of the biggest reasons why I didn't round this book up to a 4 star read is because I'm predominantly a romance reader and there are just certain tropes I don't like in my romances. Heavy abuse is one (which is why I can't really get into dark romances) and cheating is another. It makes it hard to route for main characters and their relationship when it starts like that.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love that KC. Mills circled back and gave us Mission, Tayah, Navarro and Myon's stories.

This book also took us back to the Hood a bit.

Mission was nothing to play with . And yes, we were all looking at Tayah a bit sideways in the beginning because for all intents and purposes, Rigue was a solid dude. So the story really played out like a Lifetime story, IYKYK.

Mission put that work in her life and it was a wrap 🤷🏾‍♀️. Buddy lost his chick, respect, "job" and ultimately got unalived.

It's hard not to love Navarro. If nothing else he was loyal. His past and origins made him that way. He was every girls dream. Street and book smart and had a heart. He just wanted a family. He had his work cut out getting Myon on the same page. In the end he got it all.

Mission accomplished!

I loved every part of this book (even Mission brash personality)... I thought his alpha toxic ways would bother me but I actually laughed more so at them. I like how he was slowly changing and hated that he liked it. Mission and Tay were just too cute together. That 1st date had me rolling! Navarro was just a overly sweet guy to be in the streets but I understood to tug-of-war.

Love me

I loved all the characters Tay, My, Mission, and Varro. I enjoyed the sarcasm and the roughness of the men along with the women. They complemented each other and Tay with her smart mouth, although they did what they did which was hoodish because they were in the streets, and like Tay said, I accepted the good and the bad with the men. I truly enjoyed this book. Job well done!

Okay, so I was waiting on a story about Tay and Mission as they were talked about in the last two books I read and let me just say I am not disappointed. Mission is definitely a must read character. Navarro too!!! Loved this read.

Never a dull moment

These sisters went through so many emotions dealing two cousins who one, was already in a relationship and the other no intention on being in a relationship. It was good to see the maturity and growth in the four as the navigated through the issues surrounding their relationship. That Mission was something else.. neither of the men were to messed with when it came to family and their women.

Unconventional Love!

Ok, this book was GOOD! I love that they were from different worlds and backgrounds, but everything they were missing, the other person provided! I’m obsessed with Navarro and Myon! I connected with them most! I still have love for Tayah- but Mission… nah! Ge was too much for me, even with his soft changes! lol! All in all 10 stars! And a must read for this series!

Decent Book

Ok so this was an okay book. Some of the details were a little confusing. Especially the pacing of the book. Somehow on one page you’re in the present and the next it’s months later.
And I can’t ignore all the errors, this book would really benefit from a good editor because all of the mistakes honestly were annoying and throws you off.
Overall it was a decent read.

Enjoyable

I think it was a great idea to release a double book, especially when all parties have so much interaction. I loved Mission and Navarro. They are some sexy thugs with hearts of gold. My and Tay are no pushovers. Love the closeness they have with each other. They sisterly bond is beautiful!

Complexity of love and family..m

Love me or leave me alone was an example of what we should make happen in our lives. Sometimes we get comfortable with our situations and something or someone can alter your perception about life so that you can live it to its fullest potential. My, Tay, Mission, and Navarro guide each other on this crazy journey that you just have to read.

Let me love you

Hunny, the 2 alpha males in this book, WHEW CHILE!! I'm a sucker for love especially when it comes from a manly man. I wanted to knock some sense into Tay a few times, like girl really. At one point I thought she needed meds. Myon was my girl, she was unapologetic and that's the rule I live by.

Immature much?

At one point in this ook.I was like these are some immature people! They slept with any and everybody. It started getting substance with Navarro's mom issues. I'm so glad you gave him some sense when he was dealing with Tiv. And that we didn't have to suffer through a fake pregnancy. Mission was a fool but I ended up liking him. Good story overall!

❤️🔥😍

Great story. 👏🏽👏🏽I loved the sisters and the cousins😍. They were hard but soft for their women. Mission was the hardest and fell the hardest. Mission and Taya’s were meant to be from the very beginning. And she showed him that she was not going to play. Myon and Navarro were just fun to read about. Both couple chemistry was amazing🔥💦Definitely five star.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

mission accomplished

Oh wow. You looking for drama, love, family? This is the one. I saw and read it all. Mission was a real different breed. Navarro was one I’ve never met before. Tay and Myon hit the jackpot when meeting these two. Have fun reading about the antics they all go through to take care of things that we go through in life. Awesome book.

Happy Reading‼️

I loved everything about these books except for two things. I didn't not like how book 1 & 2 were literally combined, and there was too much story for what? If the books had to be this long, at least give us a slow burn.

But even after all of that, I loved these books. All of the characters were coo, even Mission's mean ass.

Honesty is always sexy

I throughly enjoyed the book. I loved having two story's in one. At first I thought I'd choose the cousin but in the end I found Mason has everything to get a good woman and more importantly, how to keep her. I have to say this though, the only thing that could make it better would have been Wesleigh Siobhan, and Jakobi Diem as Narrators.

This was a very good book. I enjoyed the lives they share. Each couple had their own set of issues, but they survive and thrived on making things work. The love was beautiful and this book was a good read.

I love the relationship between Mission and Tay. I really enjoyed reading this book. I think Muon would have slept with Holy if he would have approached her in that way, I wasn't feeling her character at all.
