I’m not evil, I’m just drawn that way...and Clearwater needs me to tap into my darkness to save the academy.

So, this school year so far…kind of sucks. One of my guys graduates a week into the term, another transforms into something none of us could have possibly imagined, and the other two can’t stop bumping puffed chests. I don’t need this right now, especially when out of nowhere, a bunch of new students have shown up as “magically enhanced.” They can’t control their powers—heck, they don’t even know they have enhanced powers. But they’re making a mess of my academy, a mess the Council is determined to clean up by any means necessary.

Worse, after an exceptionally evil bad hits me with an exceptionally evil spell, I’ve been magically enhanced. Fun twist there. That means my gorgeous, elemental guys have to defend me from my own school…and try to keep me alive in the process, which is harder than it sounds, especially with who’s after me.

And the punches keep coming. The barrier protecting the academy is failing, allowing dark elementals in to randomly attack students. My mom is back and keeping secrets. Did I mention she seems hellbent on destroying my life? Add in the fun fact I’m unable to control my new, gruesomely evil powers, and that makes me the most explosive, potentially deadliest unknown of the equation.

It’s time to decide whether I’m part of the problem…or the solution.

It’s a new world at Clearwater Academy…and it's time to take a stand.

„Rage of Storms“ is the third book on the “Academy of Elements Series” Tetralogy by Kat Adams. This series is one of the best offerings in an extremely popular subgenre in Urban Fantasy. Katy Read (the series MC) a webcomic author, tasked with saving the world in the first installment of the Series (Spark of Fire) has evolved from reluctant hero to key figure in the fight against the forces of dark.

To put it mildly, this school year has left a lot to desire for Katy, not only she is about to deal to losing one of her closed friends to “graduation”, when already having to adapt to the unexpected transformation of another, but she still have to deal with the remaining two boys, which seem hard-on intended on wining the grand-prix of their own “rooster”-fight context 😊 could be funny, or not… if she just wasn’t already dealing with some other serious problems, as for instance trying to solve the riddle posed by the new students, who cannot control their new found magic, a problem the Council wish to eradicate at any cost.

Then the things go from bad… to worse… to worst…. After Katy becomes the target of a particularly evil spell and her beloved Academy marks her as the enemy, she needs the help of the boys to defend her against the very same Academy and keep her alive. And… as misfortune loves company, her mother is finally back with some secrets of her own, the Academy wards protecting the Academy are falling and her new-found powers become her worst enemy.

The series offers very interesting characters, Katy is very likeable and each of the boys has his own personality traits that add to the overall dimension of the story, which is fast-paced and action filled, with unexpected twists and a solid plot, while the exceptional good writing catapults this series at the top of the genre.

A good continuation into the story-arc that extents throughout all four books, which for maximum enjoyment should be read in order of release.

This is a great addition to the series. Katy's big shock at the end of Wrath of Wind (book 2 in The Academy of Elements) leaves her feeling pretty confused and unsettled, and she doesn't have time to catch her breath in Rage of Storms as she deals with her mum, life for the boys in her quad squad changing, her world becoming less and less clear, and the academy getting dangerous. On top of all that, both Katy and the academy are under threat and nothing is as it seems. Despite all the challenges, Katy is growing both as a person and an elemental and taking on more responsibility.
It is another rollercoaster ride for Katy in the paranormal world and well worth a read.
This is book 3 of a 4-book series that needs to be read in order.

Rage of Storms

OMG! Kat kept us enthralled throughout this book! Katy finally gets a chance to talk to her mother but things are very tense between the two - to say the least. She and her guys once again battle the evil pair and are confused when the bad guys suddenly leave the battle when Katy proclaims she is no longer the prophecy. The story definitely has heartbreak within the story. Katy definitely has heartbreak towards the end but vows to make things right. FANTASTIC job Kat! I would recommend this book! Can't wait to start the next book!

Who can Katy trust? She knows she has her guys behind her but they now seem to be going down their own individual paths. Will darkness consume all or can Katy find the strength and pull her team together to face this new threat that is even closer to home? This is the must-read third book of “The Academy of Elements” series. For coherence, the series should be read in order of appearance to follow the none-stop action.

Third book- Kathy is reunited with her mom and it's clear she is trying to like her but something is missing, clearly she is not what she seems to be so it's hard to see Kathy crying and be sad at the end when through the whole series the mom is missing. The sex and the connection to the guys isn't developing. They are more like friends than anything, hopefully next book goes deeper into Kathy developing her powers and her relationship with the boys.

Katy Reed has problems with her mom and other elementals are out of wack. Katy has to carry on and decide how best to help not only herself but all elementals as internal strife starts to tear the campus apart including all her close relations. Some reunions prove to be painful. Adult situations in a elemental world gone awry.

More great fantasy adventure!

I love how the story is playing out. New characters are great whether you want to love them or hate them. At this point I already knew I had to keep reading and finish the adventure with these heroes of their fantasy world...you know you're sucked in to a good story when you feel an attachment to the characters and feel their emotions. Onto book 4!

This series and this book included have been stupendous. They are full of action and twists and turns. It is so fun when you can relate to the lead character so much that you can actually step into her shoes and I can do this with this book. That is a credit to the author's excellent writing to create that depth of a character.

Rage of Storms has us following Katy through her most challenging fight yet: the battle within herself. As she struggles to cope with her mother’s return and the possible demise of the world as she knows it, the reader is treated to an emotional journey full of love and betrayal.

This series just keeps getting better! The characters go through some changes that make them stronger together and individually. Katy finds something she always thought she needed.....it doesn’t turn out the way she hopes.

2.5/5

The book was a fairly short read under 300 pages. I liked some of the complexities of the stories, however I felt that the book had elements which I didn’t really feel were necessary. Such as her having four boyfriends, they could have just had a bond rather than basically making out in front of each other which I thought was weird!
I don’t know if there needed to be so many books, I believe this is book 3 and it ends on sort of a cliff hanger, however I’m not really invested enough to read the final book which kind of says it all for me.

This book is like a KDrama put in book form. I love the imagination behind the story and the well-rounded characters. It is truly fascinating to see the story unfold with each installation and this book did not disappoint in giving a thrilling adventure.
