Jenny Somerset fell in love with the handsome teenage Derrick the moment she first laid eyes on him. She was eight and he sixteen, with no use for her, but she knew, deep down inside she knew that one day he would be hers. And when she boldly told him that she was going to marry him one day and he agreed to wait for her until she was eighteen, she had no idea that he said it in jest, just to humor the kid who followed him around all day with stars in her eyes.
Now he's back after years away and she's unrecognizable.
Derrick hadn't given a second thought to his little shadow in years, why would he? She was just a kid when he was already a young man. So when the hot little number came to his home to interview for the job babysitting his twin girls, he had no idea who she was. He never would've guessed anyway, because this girl looked nothing at all like the scrawny little kid who used to dog his every step. He may have forgotten, but Jenny hasn't, and life is about to get very complicated for the two star crossed lovers.

I should probably be embarrassed with how much I enjoyed this crazy-town tale. 🤣🤣

I loved that she didn’t make the hero at all creepy. He never lusted after the heroine when she was underage or even when he met her again at 18. He went out of his way to protect his marriage and didn’t act inappropriately or make any moves at all toward the h until his wife had shown her true colors… and even then he was under the influence of pain meds. I really like how he was portrayed and the timing of everything.

I also liked that even though the heroine had a huge crush on the H since she was 8 yrs old, she also never came on to the H. She didn’t try to entice him. She went out of her way to be appropriate and respectful to his Looney-tunes wife. She ends up being a secret badass. Some of this was eyerolly, for me, but I didn’t hate it.

Also this book only has one mention of the hero’s big d*ck, which is quite circumspect and lady like for a Jordan Silver book 🤣🤣🤡

I really love the trope where the OW ruins her own life through unreasonable jealousy and lies. I appreciate that the entire thing wasn’t blamed on mental illness. She did plenty of stuff that made her awful beyond her mental problems.

Anyway. This was a lot of fun. I’ve read a lot of JS books and this might be my favorite. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣😈🫣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️

- cheating - technically the hero is still married when the MCs have relations the first time - the marriage is really over at that point and the hero is not in his right mind due to pain meds and doesn’t remember what happened for all while

- no sharing

- Loads of OW drama - the wife is crazy and irrational

- OM drama - all perceived - once the MCs are together the H is super jealous of any man in the h’s vicinity

- the wife tries to murder her infants and the hero

- H is 26 and experienced

- h is a 19 yr old virgin

- no dubcon/noncon

- we do see the H intimate with his wife - low details

"Babysitter's Club Jenny" is the story of Jenny and Derrick.

Hold your horses- this one actually has a plot- albeit a very strange one!

The heroine has been smitten with the hero ever since she was a child, and vows to marry him- something that is a common knowledge in their whole society. He does not care, leaves, marries his high-school sweetheart and returns to the town they have twins. Him and his wife are very much in lust/love. That is until they need a babysitter, and decide to hire the heroine. She is now a gorgeous 18 year old, who is working to be a psychiatrist. Anyways, initially he does not remember her, and even when he does, he ignores it. However, his wife decides to go down the instability lane, becoming more and more possessive and jealous of the heroine, going as far as to have psychotic breakdowns and jealous rages. It is after one such where the kids are threatened- the heroine saves their lives, the hero is injured and the wife runs away. The second half of the story has the hero finally seeing the heroine, banging her 369 ways to pregnancy and falling for her while the crazy wife tries to return back and take revenge.

Absolutely bonkers yet enjoyable and sexy! I didn't like the vilification of the wife, who was obviously having a personality disorder and suffering from some serious trauma, and wished she got the help she obviously needed.

This was actually pretty tame for a JS book. The characters had some depth, and I believe there was only one mention of the H’s big dong.

The blurb sets it up, Jenny fell in love with Derrick when she was a kid and followed him around everywhere. At 8 she declared to 16-year-old Derrick they would marry and he said Ok, just to appease her. Then he left for college and never thought of her again.

The Good
💚 Derrick wasn’t a creeper. He had ZERO attraction to Jenny at all. He tolerated her because he felt sorry for her but most of the time, he didn’t even notice her.
💚 When he comes back, he’s dedicated to his wife. He doesn’t stray and actually takes steps to distance himself when he feels attracted.
💚 Jenny doesn’t try to seduce him either. She does insert herself in their life some by agreeing to do babysitting jobs, but she’s not flirting.
💚 The wife, Lauren, is unhinged and delivers loads of drama.

The Not-So Good
❌ I didn’t like the plot device used for Lauren’s downfall. I wish she would’ve just stuck with her being evil, less messy. JS did add some tidbits later that helped though.
❌ The partner swap is lightning quick, so you’re going to have to go with it that Derrick changes his mind on a dime.
❌ FYI-not a deal breaker for me, but there’re a couple of scenes and reference of sex between H and his wife.

Bottom Line- This is not the typical JS with the OTT obsessed alpha H, so if that’s what you’re craving… this isn’t it. Derrick starts out a bit beta but grows into his alpha-ness.

The best of the babysitter series

Very good story. A lot longer story than her other babysitter books. I was a little worried at first because he was in love with his wife, but it ended up all good as the story went on.

What I liked about the story that it had depth to the characters and progress to the story. I expected smut and irrational romance being about "wow she's mine and I'm getting her, consequences be damned."

Instead, the story had substance. It is true that Jenny loved Derrick since she was 8. She told him (I'm gonna marry you when I grow up). Derrick as a 19 man, of course, did not care about her and once he went to college he forget about her. He married had twins and when he came back to his childhood home, babysitter services were needed.

He didn't even remember her at first. When he saw that she's an 18 year old beautiful woman he knew instantly that his overly jealous wife wouldn't accept her. Which ended up to be true and MMC thought that his wife behavior was funny until she began irrationally accusing him of infidelity.

FMC was of course heart-broken that the man she saved herself for moved on but she was never a homewrecker.

This is the story of a genius child, who had a crush on her neighbour. She promised to herself and him that when she reached 18, she'll marry him. Fast forward 10 years later, the guy moved back home with his wife and twin daughters.

I think I loved the heroine. Her impassiveness when she met her first love and he didn't remember her. He was happy with his young family and his wife. The heroine knew this and stepped back. She was very interesting as a character. Only if I could pick up this character and drop her in another book. She is the proof where you can be silent, patient, and charismatic in the same time.

I think JS is branching out from her normal erotica. She's getting better (in some way). This book of course still has its typos, but in terms of depth and story, it's different. I don't know how to feel about this. She has always been my guilty pleasure author and while her works are not the greatest masterpiece out there, I liked to get lost in them.

For now though, I'm excited to see what's next from her. Maybe one day, she'll make my favourite smut ever.

Not my cup of tea

I truly enjoy this author’s work even though her grammatical errors drive me bonkers, lol! She can weave a tale. It’s the little things that kept me from enjoying this book. One example is how she mistakenly referred to the wife as Jenny, when her name is Lauren. Jenny was the sitter at the time. This book was waaaaaaaayyyyy longer than necessary and got repetitive when Jenny or Derrick thought of their feelings for each other. I really got annoyed by the fact that (jokingly), Derrick would refer to her as a “little s**t. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Finally, there were loose ends that needed to be tied together. I found myself skipping a great deal of pages in this book. My favorite book by this author is The Unconventional Mistress! I may read it again since I wasn’t a fan of this book.

It wasn't that intense as her other books.

Yes the "Hero" is married and has 2 daughters

Yes, the heroine loved him since she was kid, but once she saw he was married with kids, she still loved him and wanted him to be happy

His wife total.... I can't tell you total spoiler

No, he doesn't cheat, but some might consider it cheating because he moved on fast.

This book might not be for everybody. When I read the description, I'm like, oh no, he's married with kids, I don't like reading books where the hero is married to another women who is not the main heroine, and because is jordan silver I know she will tell us every detail, but in this book, not really, like I said wasn't intense as the other of her books. I reccomend.

I see I am in the minority because I was utterly disappointed and disliked this book. Obviously, I should have DNF'd it and went to sleep instead of staying up to finish it hoping it got better or Derrick at least called BS on Jenny. He did but she stopped talking and used sex instead to do her bidding and the conversations were forgotten about.

The only character I cared about in this story was Derrick. Lauren & Jenny to me were interchangeable for the most part. They were both selfish, deceptive, lying & manipulative women.
Jenny is an 18 year old "genius" (she was tested per her mom) so everything she does is "perfectly planned out and executed" she never got over her school girl crush at age 8 on Derrick who promised to marry her when she turned 18. She lived by that promise never pursuing a relationship or ever entertained the possibility of finding anyone she could love more then him because as time went by her love (obsession) for him grew.

Fast forward 10 years Derrick of course thought nothing of it and moved on with this life. Derrick's college sweetheart turned wife Lauren has an undiagnosed mental health issue that suddenly turned her violent when she purposely got pregnant to keep Derrick and had to stop taking her regular meds and start a different prescription as not to harm the babies. They did not work as well and then she decided to stop taking them all together under the delusion she was doing fine without them. Lauren grew up in different foster homes and never received the love or attention she needed.

Derrick knew nothing about this mental health issue or meds she was taking throughout their relationship but, Jenny being a genius does but keeps that info for herself. After Jenny meets with Lauren she also knows how insecure she is of 18 year old Jenny being around Derrick and that is why Lauren doesn't hire her. Until they need a babysitter to go to a very important social event for Derrick's father of course everyone in the neighborhood raves about Jenny. Jenny makes herself available to care for the twins that night b/c they are Derrick's children and obviously she is playing her own game of manipulation. At the event Derrick's unknowing mother spills the beans regarding Jenny's childhood crush on Derrick. Derrick tries to reassure her and brush it off but this starts Lauren's downward spiral and what ultimately destroys her marriage and mental health. At one point Lauren becomes violent, flees her home and life.

Derrick takes stock and divorces her deciding to leave her nothing. During this time (and get this...out of no where) he also realizes that after a tragic accident in high school he stopped being himself and changed into the man that married Lauren without being in love with her.

Of course Jenny had already figured this out and makes it her mission to draw the Derrick out she fell in love with at 8 years old. Her main manipulation is sex while using every perfectly planned and executed move "via science" to her advantage. This includes knowingly and purposely getting herself pregnant even though he was still very much somewhat happily married and worried about his wife's safety and sanity. He was taking prescribed meds after an incident sent him to the hospital. When he returned home he was taking prescribed meds that made him not know what he was doing but she did and didn't care because in her obsessed mind he was always hers. Jenny was all about taking what she wanted, when she wanted and how she wanted. Not much different from how Lauren confessed doing the same things to catch and keep Derrick for herself. Although I have more sympathy for Lauren because she has a mental health issue and Jenny doesn't have that excuse for her obsessive behavior.

Jenny doesn't seem to talk or show much emotion unless she has a purpose for it like making people believe she feels a certain way when she doesn't. At least Derrick was written to not be her doormat and could sometimes see right through her. Plus he turned much more alfa male the longer the story went. So, of course Jenny got what she wanted when Derrick reverted back to his high school version of himself while still being a responsible father. Her manipulations keep coming after that. She wanted every reminder of Lauren gone so she arranged with her billionaire father to adopt the twin girls Lauren gave birth to and like a robot Derrick went along with it. Jenny is now the only mother they will remember because they are so young when all this took place. Jenny was a real piece of #%#! work that I did not enjoy reading about. Lauren was a pathetic cartoon villainous given a mental illness to make Jenny look like the better option. Spoiler alert she wasn't in my book. Derrick could have done so much better then the both them or just stay a hot single father that would have worked for me too.

This is either the 2nd or 3rd Babysitter's Club book in this serious that I did not enjoy reading and will not be continuing on if she writes more in this series.

Usually I love reading her books, but you can tell that she doesn't proofread or have someone else proofreading the stories before publishing them. This time Lauren has parents then was orphaned at a young age. Then Jenny really only babysat the twins once, why was he remembering different times she babysat. It's like Jordan Silver used the outline from previous books, and forgot to change it for the new book.

This book was a good mix of erotica and bit twisted plot; not a lot but a bit twisted. The story was playing on the borderline (grey area) of cheating, mental insanity, and semi consented rape (See how well the author writes it. I can even properly describe it. Ms Silver always have a way to play around on this area between what's right (and normal) and wrong (illegal or immoral)). The h watched H had sex with several women in the past.
All in all, don't read it when you don't like carnal smutty plot with grey-ish area being the main backbone of the story.

Virgin h, experienced H
No contraception
Anal, spanking
Borderline possessive h and equally obsessed H after they got together
No OW, OW was present when they met again, but then out of the pick after incidents - breakup
No cheating
Overall score: 5 erotica twisted stars

Head spinning

I actually liked the story in the beginning, but by the middle the heroine was just as batshit crazy as the wife and by the end I thought they both needed to be locked up. It went from sweet to wtf the longer it went on.

There were a bunch of things about Jenny that seemed to be added for no real reason and made her seem like a skitsophrinic or sociopath. It just went left for me and I really wanted to love this book

Well the concept was fine but the execution was not great
Clearly here h was alpha and H was beta
There were several things which didn't work for me:
1)The h pining for the H when she was super rich and beautiful, i mean whyyy??
2)At the start she was shown as silent, frigid, no sunshine kind of girl as if life has been snucked out of her, like ice princess, not sure it was necessary and in the later half she becomes this spymaster planning and securing H for herself from the crazy OW.
3)I don't understand why didn't she wait for H to come to her, rather than giving easily , once she helped him out she needed to get out of their and live her life , if H loved her as he said he would have waited, but no.
4)SHe was crazy about him so we can say H lucked out though not sure why he attracted crazy women.
5) The way she kept making excuses about him, his real personality n stuff, it all felt like shit justification.
6)Plus her getting pregnant again was shitty, surprised the H didn't lose his shit as the OW did the same thing to him ,they should have waited and once things settled down then maybe plan
Now H, he was someone i didn't like at all, the way his feelings pinged ponged all the way didn't sit well with me,
Initially he was in love with the OW and his life and suddenly one crazy incident and he is questioning everything about his life and as such
2)The H we were told became someone else after the incident that he always want to do what is right which means he stopped using his brains and married the women who he was friends with in college.
You really believe that you knew nothing of your gf's past , ok at times it happens but you never could make out how she really was?
3)He never gave on single thought to the h , understandable as she was a child and all but once you see the craziness of your wife all thoughts which weren't der of the h suddenly started popping and it was just your brain blocking your true self which would never have chosen the OW. Realy !!!!
4) i wanted him to give himself time and sort his mess and plus give the h and him some space to make things clear for them , rather than jumping and fucking all over
I just felt that the H was first in lust with the h and then seeing his less beautiful and crazy wife felt better to be attached to the stunning and rich h rather than the crazy OW.
5)The divorce , custody n all the way easily it worked , could not digest that.
6)The justification of his feelings for h and OW was not done well

SOrry didn't believe in it
but the h was crazy for H so he lucked out.

Felt bad for OW(Slightly)

I really enjoy this Babysitter’s Club series. Each story focuses on a different couple, but the common theme is that the FMC starts out as the babysitter. Even with that shared setup, every book feels unique.

Starting this one honestly made my heart a little sad. There is an eight year age gap, which means when Jenny was 8, Derrick was 16. She has had a crush on him forever and follows him around like a shadow. She tells him they will marry one day, and he agrees but says she has to be 18. She waits. He does not.

He completely forgets about her until years later when he moves back home with a wife and twin baby girls.

What I really loved about Jenny is how honest she is with herself about her feelings, while masking them very well around everyone else. Derrick does not even remember her at first and honestly does a lot of shitty things when it comes to her. His wife, who he would never dream of cheating on, becomes convinced he is having an affair with the young and beautiful Jenny.

They are not. Jenny knows that would never be possible and even tries to stay away once she realizes the wife’s jealousy is more than just insecurity.

Despite the messy emotions and bad choices, this is actually a very touching story. It hurt a little in places, but in a quiet emotional way that really sticks with you.

My GAH! I loved, loved, loved this book. I read it in one sitting, for the life of me I couldn’t put it down. I loved how this book is so different from the others I’ve read. Jenny is a very intelligent little girl/teenager and that’s cutting it short, she’s a genius. She’s always been in love with Derrick whom is 8 years older than her, she’d follow him around all the time and he would get annoyed but after talking to his mom he thought about it and was being nice to little Jenny. With a promise of marrying her when she turned 18 she saves herself for him; of course Derrick didn’t think anything of it as he thought she’s 8 years old. He went away for college and got married, had twin daughters and came back home. Jenny, wasn’t so little anymore and she turned out to be this beautiful young woman whom he felt a connection with. I don’t want to give too much away but seriously this book is that good. I love how the heroine (Jenny) is not this helpless little girl, she’s strong, determined, focused, and knows exactly what she wants. The chemistry between Derrick and Jenny is off the charts HOT! 🔥

One of the best yet

So I’ve read a lot of Jordan Silvers books, but I think this is the best yet, I would say if you were a fan of her Lyon books then this is on par if not better. Yes I actually said better than The Lyon series! But I don’t want to big it up too much as then ppl get high hopes and are disappointed, Jenny is in love with Derrick and has been since she was 8 and he was 16 (don’t worry nothing happens), he goes away to college and university where he meets Lauren and marries her, when Derrick and Lauren come back to live in Derricks parents house with twin baby girls, Jenny is asked to babysit the twins and is devastated when Derrick doesn’t remember her, Jenny is studying psychiatry as is trying to understand her obsession with Derrick and wants to help understand why she feels such a pull to him and also wants to help others to overcome these feelings, I don’t want to give too much away but Lauren isn’t all she seems and although at the start you may feel for her by the end it’s worrying.

One the one hand it was good to see this author branch out into a story that's longer than 90 pages long. But.....I scored it low as it is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. I know it should not detract from the story itself but I just found myself getting more and more annoyed.
It was like the author wrote it and self published it straight away, like a piece of fan fiction without having anyone proof read it first.
In regard to the story, it was an interesting branch out from the others in the series in that the hero was married and seemingly happily married at the start and it's about how the his eyes open and realise she's not the one for him.
This story took an unexpected twist in that the taking of the virginity (as the heroines are always virgins) was not the major sex scene of the book. It was passed off as pain pilled induced rape.

Not the best in the series and struggled reading it at times, hence the 2 stars

Another great addition to the Babysitter's Club.

When Jenny was just eight years old when she saw Derrick for the first time, he was sixteen at the time. She told him that one day she was going to marry him and he just agreed that when she was an adult they would get married. After all he didn't want to upset the little girl who always seemed to be where he was. Ten years later he moves back to the house he grew up in with his wife and two daughters. Jenny is devastated that he doesn't remember her, but vows not to do anything to come between Derrick and his wife, Lauren. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

Not usually a fan of books that include relationships and sex scenes with OM/OW, but in this case I realize the prior marriage was integral to the plot of the story and the sex scenes weren't too graphic. I think I still prefer her books where the H and h aren't with anyone else after they meet, but this was still a good book even if it wasn't necessarily what I've come to expect from JS. I would like to see a few more books from her though with slightly less manwhorish heroes. I don't mind a good story about a reformed manslut but it is basically a staple of JS novels at this point and I'd like to see a few heroines get a man that puts as much stock in the importance of sex as they do.

Jordan has me hooked! This new addition to the Babysitter's Club might just be my favorite. I didn't know how this story would pan out, especially when Derrick returns to his hometown with a wife and twins. Where does that leave Jenny and her poor heart. Well I should not have feared, cause Jordan would never let us down. Jenny is there for Derrick and his girls when they need him and once the fog that has covered Derricks eyes for the last 10 years has lifted, he knows where his future and happiness are. He does what he needs to do to make it right for Jenny, and we get to see the HEA that they all deserve. Loved this one, it was definitely worth the purchase and will be on my reread list.

My, my miracles DO happen. This one actually has a plot. Quick someone frame this book by Jordan Silver!! This is the sort of thing that happens once in a million years. I have to say I loved the girl in this one, the second she realized that he was married and happy she did everything in her power to stay away and the guy too was surprisingly mature...sure he found her attractive but he didn't make any lewd comments while married so -YOU GO JORDAN SILVER! But obviously the wife was very conveniently made a sociopath and

I absolutely loved this newest addition to the Babysitter series. Jenny and Derrick have a sweet love story with lots of bumps along the way. Both main characters have depth and qualities that you cannot help but fall in love with. And as great as Jordan Silver is at telling a love story and writing a sex scene, she is equally talented at writing a villain. This story has all three of those things! And I can’t help but think that she left the door open for more... What was Lauren holding in her hand and what happens in 18 years??? Great book 🔥❤️

Childe this one is crazy

Well Dang. This was a wild ride. JENNY has a crush on an older boy, she gets him to promise to wait for her to grow up so they can marry. Hahahaha. She’s my kind of determined. But the jerk marries someone else. Dummy. The wife asks JENNY to babysit their twin daughters. The guy doesn’t remember Jenny, in a real kill me now moment. Devastating.
Until he does remember her. Game changer.

Jenny is a d@mn hoot!!! 😂

I loved this FMC. Cool, calm, collected, genius level smart, mature beyond her years, and so faithful it was painful to see her go thru all she had. It took waaay too long for Derrick to get with it!! I loved all the psychology. I felt like I was reading a profound story about predestined fate. Which it was. It was beautiful despite the ugliness there too. Jenny n her dads powwows.....😂😂😅 Scary! 😆

🎯That man was not the price! Everything about their relationship was forced.

🎯Unrealistic expectations, you were eight and he was 16, did you honestly think he would wait until you were older, if he did then that would have been perverted.

🎯The way the author tried so hard to make the ow the villain all of a sudden just so the Hero can be single was 🥶. The man loved that woman and they seemed to have a good life but all of a sudden she’s a cheat and a psycho 🫤 how convenient.
