Emma and Theo were working together on a class project about shark's teeth. A trip to their school library and the local branch put the kids in touch with two librarians who were more than happy to help. Share the excitement as their school librarian and Ms. McMahon help Emma and Theo find all the information they need-and gives the kids a first-hand look at a librarian's job.

Meet a Librarian! is a good place to start in teaching children about the library. Readers learn the purpose of the library, the types of books that can be found, how to find books and how to borrow books. It also tells us the importance of the librarian such as when you need help researching but don’t know where to start. Readers learn librarians are not limited to helping match readers to books but help to select the books that are purchased for library shelves.
Readers learn all the many services the library have to offer: computer labs, study/reading rooms, tutors, meeting rooms, book clubs, reading programs and more.
I absolutely ador this book series! This one specific book follows emma and Theo, as they go on a mini adventure to learn about what librarians do in their school and local library. I really appreciated how it intorduces the library roles clearly, and how well it is for community learning. It also has a fun mix of narrative, real photos, and factual snippets make it a strong choice for early learners curious about community roles.
