Ready for the final book.

4.75*

Okay, so wow the fifth and penultimate book and it’s a good one. Maybe the best so far.

We catch up with all the major players.

Liz, Llewelyn, Kevin and Mihai have escaped the southern evacuation camp at Gatwick Airport. They are now fugitives.

The Prime Minister and Colonel Griffin have made it to the Permanent Joint Headquarters.
She has a fight on her hands. And he’s suffering with his leg.

Rose, Chris, Seth, Ryan and Nutmeg are travelling towards Hereford. They come across Rowan again.

Melanie, Ben, Sarah, Chanita and James are in Oxfordshire. Ben has been accidentally scratched by James and is transitioning.

Vijay is still at Gatwick with Drake and his family. They’re crowded and short of food.

Leanna and Canning have made Windsor Castle their base. Leanna has proclaimed herself Queen of the Werewolves. But she’s growing more short tempered and volatile.

Warg Daddy (by far my least favourite name and character from the series) and his brothers are travelling the country. The toss of a coin determines their direction.

So once again all the major characters are in play.

Leanna sees Lycanthropy as the solution. But the rest of the world sees it as the end.

Things are hotting up and I can’t wait for the final book.

Like the other four books in this series, this book is next to impossible to put down. The only trouble is, I read these back to back and now must wait for the next book. Each character has taken to a whole new level and the end of days tension is real. This is a solid author who can give lessons on how to write great novels.

Word of warning, don’t read this book first, start with the first book. You’ll thank Mr. Morris too

The 5th and penultimate book in this series about the Werewolf Apocalypse. Again, this book carried on where the previous book left off. This time though, I was into it from the start and didn't look back. This was just so good!

This book had a more mystical feel about it. The religious aspects and beliefs which have been present throughout were once again questioned, and the concept of good and evil and how that could realistically be defined. As well as Christianity, Sikhism beliefs have been a running theme through these books as some of the main characters are a Sikh family. But in this book, those organised religions have also been joined by paganism with a druid making an appearance, and even the Norse God's have been mentioned. Fate and destiny also feature strongly throughout as the theological questions are raised and pushed forward.

The good and evil concept is also challenged in this story, it has been an ongoing undercurrent throughout, which has made you stop and wonder who are the real evil ones. But the parallels and obvious similarities between the insane meglomaniac Wolf Queen and equally tyranical and rapidly unravelling human Prime Minister (also a woman) are really quite chilling at times in this book. Then you have the fact one of our main female leads and all round heroic good person is actually now a vampire and one of our male leads (and another selfless hero) is also a werewolf.

The scene is now set for the final book, which I am assuming is going to be the end of days finale. This story has taken us by the hand and eloquently walked us through Armageddon, with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse spreading Conquest, War, Pestilence and Famine and clearly setting the scene and showing where all our main characters stand for the finale. Now the question is, how will it all play out? Will good overcome evil? Will there be a brave new world or will it be end of the world as we know it? I can't wait to find out.

Unfortunately it only goes up to 5 stars ... I give it 10/5

Penultimate book of this series ... and I absolutely LOVED it!! Unexpected twists and turns. You have to be prepared to get emotionally invested in these characters ... experiencing everything in this book as if you are physically there. That is how good Steve Morris is at immersing the reader into this series of books, and just when I think he can't get better, he proves me wrong. This is one of the times where I am happy to be proven wrong!

Brilliant tension building that doesn't disappoint! All I can say is ... if you have not read this series, you need to start with the first book as you wouldn't want to miss anything!!

I cannot wait for the next book - a bit of a bitter sweet feeling as I really want to see where it goes from here, but am not looking forward to the ending and having to bid these characters farewell.

Read ... read ... you won't be disappointed!

PS - there is gore, so be prepared for that!

I have to say that this book wasn't as good as the others.

I've had some issues with how some of the characters have been portrayed, but I guess that's just life. But, some from characters started to make pretty dumb, out-of-character, decisions that just really pulled me out of the story.

I mean no offense to the author, he obviously has read up on military history, doctrine, and equipment, however, I'm fairly sure he shouldn't be planning any major strategies anytime in the near future.

Meanwhile...what about the U.S? I know this is a story set in the British Isles, but it's an apocalyptic story. Can't really ignore the rest of the world.

With half the military budget (and a more powerful Navy) than the rest of the world put together...plus more civilian guns than there are civilians! I don't see anything similar happening in the States.

I'll finish the series out, and, while overall I still enjoyed it, this book dropped sharply in quality.

Book 5 of Lycanthropic (the Werewolf Apocalypse saga). Although nuclear warheads have demolished most of Britain (and the rest of the world, but this series is based in and around London) and werewolves have either killed or captured a large majority of the military--as well as the armored cars, tanks, and other weaponry, most of the remaining human survivors have gathered in evacuation camps--protected, somewhat, from the constant threat of the lycanthropes as they grow in number and in strength. But as these civilians, struggling for warmth, for food, for medicine, for safety, they are unaware of the newest, and possibly, worst threat yet.
The werewolves have themselves a "Queen" who rules by force and has started utilizing the information of the "turned" military officers on how to properly engage in a war. And what will the remaining human government (safely far away) and the few military forces do in response to this new threat?

I have truly enjoyed this series, however, if you don't start from Book 1 (Wolf Blood), I don't think that you can fully appreciate or understand what is going on as the author doesn't bother to link information back to the previous books and I imagine you would have to fumble around for a bit to understand what is going on, and what has already gone on, and there are so many "main" characters that it is hard to play "catch up". This is the one simple reason that I didn't give these books a 5 star rating.

There is a promise of a 6th (and final) book, however it is not yet available and I am very much looking forward to reading it.

Read it in 3 days

It's the quickest I've devoured a book in a long time...im about to start the final book and am very eager to start. If your wanting a series that seems realistic in a fantastical way and almost irritating in its ability to highlight human cruelty as there area few characters I wouldn't mind teaching a lesson this is for you.

Great Character Development and Action

I love books that have multiple plots, all spiraling to meet up for a grand finality!
This books has so much happening at once with all the villains and hero's and victims.
The future looks dire, but is it? Good werewolves and vampires teaming with humans to
Survive and shape the future of the world, not just mankind!

I loved the fifth book in this series. This book dives deep into the characters and some philosophical dilemmas, as well as having some great action scenes. Looking forward to the finale.

Very good series

Couldn't put it down, the intensity waxing and waining felt like a roller coaster ride. Loved the characters as they matured.

Getting bored of this series now, dragging on and characters are suddenly changing their personalities randomly.
