Kayla may have pulled on the tiger’s tail one too many times. She’s been in love with Joe her whole life, and when he leaves for the military she has the bright idea to send him dirty letters and pictures the whole time. When he comes back from his time away, he makes it clear he’s coming for her. But has she gone too far?

Joe has been teased by Kayla for years and it’s about time she made good on her filthy words. He’s been counting down the days until he can make her his…and now the wait is over. She’s going to admit to him and herself that this is what’s right. No matter their age difference or their time apart.

Warning: He’s a great American hero coming home to claim his reward. Don’t worry…it’s the dirty happily ever after we know you want!

Pretty short and sweet with some steam. This is book is sorta book 2 and you can hear it on readmeromance or ebook :)

We saw a glimps of these two in Bookstore barbie and omggg i enjoyed Kayla she was the friend who would be in the jail cell next to you ;). When Joe was on leave she sent packages of dirty letters and pictures. Now few years later he's back home and shes hiding from him. Shes alittle embarrassed thinking that he doesnt feel the same and shes also helping Barbie with her missy drama. But shes suprised when he's chasing after her not letting her get away hes done waiting. Joe is everything you want in a alpha he's protective, funny, charming and lord 🔥🔥🔥 love the chemistry between the two.

No ow/om drama(well incase you count missy), no cheating, tiny drama, sexy times, slight secondary charas, virgin gal and no manwhore

This is the story of Kayla and Joe who make an appearance in the 1st book (Bookstore Barbie) , basically this was like the first book, funny and sexy with cute 3 epilogues ❤

"General Joe" is the story of Kayla and Joe.

An uber sweet May-December romance with a heroine in pursuit, and a hero who has loved her always. There's courting, acceptance, gooey lovemaking, breeding and multiple HEAs!

If it wasn't so short and abrupt, this would be rated much higher.

I think the novelty of short romantic reads have passed on me and I'm not enjoying them as much as I did when I discovered Alexa Riley back in November 2018.

It was ok. Nothing special. Joe came back from serving his country and got his girl who of course was a virgin and 12 years younger.

Loved the epilogues, however the time frame did not add up. It was the same with the Bookstore Barbie where a hero had a full on beard and then a chapter later a morning shadow. It looks like details stopped counting which is OK with these short novellas but annoying for and OCD person like me.

Also one more fact from the book no 1 but mentioning Kayla... Barbara commented that she never knows what colour of the hair will Kayla have that week and then Joe says about her 'attractive brunette', or curvy? Well, you know what I mean. It's OK if you come just for the naughty parts but if you're looking for details, and a plot, it just makes the read a bit confusing.

I liked this Alexa Riley read. I liked that Joe was older and as soon as he got back to town he wanted Layla, the love of his life. Even though this is a short novella she does give him a BIT of a chase at the beginning but there really was no dark spot which I hate.

General Joe was a really short story. I enjoyed very much and fell in love with both characters almost instantly. But—and yes, there is a but—it felt rushed and if one story had deserved to be longer, it should have been this one, not the first book in this series.

description

description

It's been a minute since I read an Alexa Riley book and like... I almost forgot just how over the top their books are. But, they are what they are and you get what you get. So, that's kinda all the review I have. It's 100% an Alexa Riley book about a virginal heroine and a hero that's been saving himself for her, cause, obvs.

**Listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast.

Safe, I liked this more than I thought I would. I didn't care for her sending him pictures and videos when at the time they were only friends, almost brother/sister. It all worked out in my crazy brain for me.

their latest stories are totally boring and so predictable in how the heroine acts/hero reacts. Used to love their books but since releasing new ones recently, their quality has fallen so hard. Can’t stand their writing style now, its terrible. The older books had actual plots and better romances.

Super short and no insta love (which I appreciate)! I liked it but I would’ve liked more details about their relationship before. It was okay but I’m not sure these extremely short stories are for me anymore.

Ok, I struggled to connect with the heroine in this one, so the overall enjoyment level I usually find in an AR read just wasn’t there. But hey, that’s totes on me, so abso try this treat for yourself - plenty of peeps gobbled it up!

I listened to this one on the read me romance podcast.
It features Alexa Riley's signature over the top romance and was a short slice of deliciousness.
