Maulana Wahiduddin Khan is an Islamic spiritual scholar, who has adopted peace as the mission of his life. He was born in a family of landlords in 1925 at Badharia, a village near the town of Azamgarh, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (formerly known as the Eastern United Provinces).
After his father’s death in December 1929 he was brought up by his mother, and his uncle, Sufi Abdul Hamid Khan, arranged for his education. He comments that becoming an orphan very early in life taught him that, to succeed in life, you have to take such situations as challenges and not as problems. Being an advocate of result-oriented and positive action, he explains that treating such situations as problems can only be negative in result. All you can do in this state is either try to fight to remove them or lodge complaints or protests against them. On the other hand, if you take such situations as challenges, you can positively and constructively work to overcome them yourself, as and when suitable opportunities present themselves. His success in life is largely due to the implementation of this and other such principles, which he has derived from Islamic scriptures.
It is amazing to acknowledge that the best self help book that I have read is by a Maulana I.e. this one. It actually a sign of the times that this epithet has become a caricature of Rumi's Maulana Rumi. Once a time there were such eminent Maulanas as Azad and Hasrat on politico literary scene of the sub-continent. What makes this book so spectacular is that Maulana Waheed ud din Khan has given examples from World over on different issues of life. He has quoted great thinkers and the response to different situations by great leaders. Most of the advice that is precipitated is very practical and specially relevant considering the current milieu in our region.
A truly life changing book. Will make you halt, stop and reflect time and again while reading. Something to be read truly like a meditation loud and daily with your kids. Soak it up by discussing its platinum thoughts in friends and family circles.
Miserable, wretched, shameful. Just like the author. Wahiduddin beliefs are little more complicated. He writes in the prespective of Minhaaj that the prophet Muhammad SAW wasn't the final model. He ends by stating that the Prophetic example is not the final example to be followed in every time and age.
One of the most amazing books I have ever read. I would highly recommend to everybody that at least read this book once in their life and I am sure you won't regret it.
I have read this book in English translation which name's "The Secret of Success". One of the best book for self help guide. There are many small chapters about 2 to 3 pages long. In start of every chapter Maulana Wahiduddin Khan Sahab share a story and quote and then give us a perspective to think and conclude on the morals of that quote and story.
Such great teachings from the minute examples around you. One of the finest book to make yourself a better person and learn new things in much more learned manner.
