Jack and his women are trying to build a life on the islands, but there is something or someone out there trying to end them all.
They disembark on their most dangerous mission yet as they try to rescue the last of the women from their shipwreck. The islands won’t give up anything easy, though.
Join Jack and crew on another adventure through the archipelago
Book four and for me the least interesting of the series. All the main characters have now gained superhero mental powers and those became the focus of almost everything that happened in this book. There's an overall story arc that is getting close to it's conclusion but I'm not sure if the author has a clear idea of where this series is going. If the next book is the last in the series I will probably read it, otherwise, probably not.
The weakest book in the series so far, but arguably the best cover :)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was easily the best book in this series to date. This is because this author did what was needed for this series, which is that he expanded the story significantly beyond islands, survival and sex.
He has been gradually doing this over the last 3 books, but it is this book where that build-up finally starts to pay off.
Beyond this, these books have found their rhythm and have a good balance between action, story and breaks for the reader to let off steam. This was something I was critical of in the first book and with every book since the author has just got better and better.
If I could I'd rate this a 9 out of 10 as there's definitely still room to improve, but being as Goodreads is just a 5-star system, I will give it a full 5 because it deserves more than a 4.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series now.
*Audiobook review* I just stop reading 1/4 way though, cause it was just to damn annoying and tedious. The writer has the set up for a great harem romp, mystery and super powered adventure and he just missed the nail. I can imagine that it was damn hard to put all this together and I do applaud M.H. Ryan for trying. However, I got the feeling he was trying to put too much into one little package. World/ multiple island building, superpowers, island survival, base building, island mystery, the growing stable of women etc etc. was all getting mixed together into this whole big mess. For example, they build up their base but immediately run off to an adventure righting after they hammer in the last nail on their latest project. Their adventure never really gets answers but just vague clues before the clues/people mysteriously die off. Their powers seem so powerful in one area but useless in the next minuet. However, my main gripe is that there are way TOO MANY WOMEN. That't right you heard me; there is a baker's dozen of hot buns and a single Frankfurt on the grill. The writer comes up with the situation and the various hot characters but they he falls short on the application of lust. Instead he gives us some boring sexual encounters and LOTS of relationship nonsense as they more like his harem wives rather than his harem girlfriends. The MC just keeps on talking about how his girls are great, how strong and intelligent they are. The girl are collage teens and man the writer does an amazing job in recreating the annoying conversation super young collage women talk because after an hour of talking about unless drivel I wanted the kill myself. It was like a Nam flashback for me but collage edition of long ass arguments, teasing and a plethora of "awww so cute" bullshit for hours. I liked the earlier island jumper books, as there were only 3 to 4 people tops. You want an example of great harem isekai series? Tamer: King of Dinosaurs by Michael-scott Earl. Great base building, mystery and the right amount of women who stay being his harem GIRLFRIEND after they become his harem wife.
But certainly worth the wait. A great addition to the series! More characters and more insight into the history of this fantastic world. I would drop Cameron like a hot rock, and I'm not sure what is going on with this disproportionate dislike and mistrust of the guardians. Okay, one did have a maladjusted pet octopus the size of a house that tried to eat them in a previous book, but come on! Where's the love and trust? Great fun! Probably my favorite so far. Everyone stay safe, stay healthy, stay home, and stay entertained with MHR's newest adventure.
This four book series has been one of those series that you can't put. Down. The characters and the plot are diverse and very entertaining and full of action and adventure.I can't wait to read the whole series.I recommend this series for all readers of action fantasy.
I was rough on this series when it started. But I kept reading and when book three came out.It really stepped up the story and the characters are really awesome.Book four was like a adrenaline rush reading through it.Relationships grew and abilities became more powerful. This is a must read series for sure.
I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for awhile now and I loved every moment of it. I am also thrilled to have read that the author is busy writing away on book number 5.
Finally here been waiting a while for this book to come out read it,loved it, now waiting for the next 1 hopefully it dnot take as long. If this genre is your cup of tea give this series a bash keep up the good work Mr Ryan
As good as the first 3 in the series; now, WHEN is jumper #5 coming out (cliffhanger as last line in 4, plus MHR claiming 5 being in progress - this almost 2 years go)?
