Wherever there are people, there are penises. And even though men always carry their penis with them, we might not know it as well as we think...
Members Club is a fascinating and important exploration of the penis written by leading urologist, Piet Hoebeke.
Half of the world's population has one; the other half sometimes comes into contact with it, and yet a great deal of ignorance exists regarding the penis. Join celebrated professor of urology Piet Hoebeke, one of the world's leading experts in his field, as he sets out to clarify the mysteries of the male reproductive organ.
Professor Hoebeke draws on his years of experience to address the key questions, such as: What is the ideal penis? What's the best technique for taking a pee? Why is an erection that lasts 24 hours a bad thing? And, of course: What to do when your foreskin gets stuck between the zipper of your trousers?
Other areas covered include: the evolution of the penis, size, deviations, sexual health, the disturbed relationship between the man and his penis, sperm production, and the art of good penis maintenance.
Members Club is the no-nonsense guide every penis user needs.
This definitely an odd one to rate, as it’s not really a story but it was quite informative. I’ve never read a book about genital health, and I’d think a urologist is a trustworthy source. Some very interesting medical facts and advice in here.
Zero sources cited. Weird focus on what danger early humans were in while fucking (fast sex without foreplay seems more likely to be caused by rape rather than happy couples being intimate in a bear den). Says juicing is healthy. One fucked up story about a dude that wanted to rape his mother so he had his penis amputated- added nothing to the book, and the surgery itself certainly did not “preserve his love for his mother”
Has some ok info about anatomy and common diseases so I won’t rate it a one star.
The author bent over backwards reiterating the fact that a 13cm penis is perfectly normal and of average length. Life is good! 👍🏾
Also, the author interjects a lot of personal views and opinions regarding penile surgical procedures that he still performs and procedures that he used to do but will no longer perform along with great insight into his evolving thought process with regards to this controversial organ.
Guys... You don't want to miss this. Concise facts and anecdotal revelations by a seasoned Urologist in Belgium, 5/5 Must read, because its equally important to understand the organ behind all the fun and the pleasures.
It’s fair to say I don’t have one. It’s also fair to say I don’t want one, except for times (winter and cross country skiing) when it would be easier and less cold to go pee. But I figured if I was “using” one, I should at least know how it works.
I absolutely loved this book. I found it engaging and chock-full of facts. The beautiful mix of science and history and even mythology made it a true pleasure to read.
Factual Overview Of The Penis. This book, written by a Belgian urologist, has a bit of everything when it comes to factual information about the penis. We've got history. We've got biomechanics. We've got anatomy. We've got medical recommendations for a wide range of topics related to the penis from basic hygiene to STDs and when to seek further consultation. If you've ever wanted to know really most anything about the penis, this is the book you should probably look to if you don't already have some degree of academic knowledge of it. Seemingly comprehensive, though the version I read (nearly 5 months before actual publication) didn't have much of a bibliography at all - just about 5% of this text, vs closer to 25% of an average nonfiction text. Still, Dr. Hoebeke mostly relies on his own decades of experience and appears generally authoritative - at least in a general sense - even without the extensive bibliography (which may yet be added between the date I write this review in early July 2020 and the date of publication in early November 2020). Very much recommended.
