Great conclusion of the series.....buuuuuttt

The editing. I’ve waited for this book to be released, impatiently so. I couldn’t really enjoy the book as I had to re-read words, sentences and sometimes whole paragraphs due to misspellings, incorrect verb tenses and even who’s speaking at times 🙄 I’ve read previous books from this author and I don’t recall the editing to be this bad if at all. The story felt rushed with unnecessary parts added and to top it all off.....I don’t feel “completed”. Still a good story tho 🤷🏾‍♀️ so I gave 4 starahs, 😂

3.0 - 3.5 ⭐

This was an OK conclusion to the current story arc. Dmitry and his family are in hiding but not waiting for the fight to find them. He's willing to go on the offensive and take the fight to his enemies. Dmitry sure knows how to outsmart his opponents. As always, Royal was annoying so I ended up just skimming past her scenes. I felt like the story bounced between all the different couples plus Dmitry's enemies a bit too much. There was an 'ewww gross' element that that kept popping up in the story. I got it the first time and the idea of chopping up Dmitry's enemies and cooking them in a stew had a life of it's own and kept popping up as a shock factor. That was just unnecessary, IMO.

I also think the author should have invested in a good editor. There were numerous spelling and grammatical errors. Not to mention just the chaff that could have been excised to polish the book off. Too many characters were given a part in the story then just dropped off.

Unfortunately the book can't be read as a stand-alone. The series has to be read in order. It's a decent Russian mafia series and I'd recommend it.

Powerful Ending

I went through a lot to get this book completely downloaded and I mean alot... Bought the damn book 6x and talked to customer service 4x...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. The ending was spectacular and everything I thought it would be. I've read the Medlov books Soooo many times throughout the years. When I run out of books, my go to is the Medlov Family. I start with Dmitry's closet and read them all. Again, Excellent ending! Definitely a rollercoaster ride, my heart was beating so fast. Tears pouring.

I initially gave the book one star because I couldn't finish it due to all the tech issues and pure frustration. But after completing the entire book, it's worth 10 stars. I know stuff happens but Latrivia it's because you're such a good author that we were in turmoil. Keep up the good work. As always, I'm waiting on grown Anya! You've given us a glimpse of the woman she becomes through Dmitry's Chronicles. I just know that's gonna be the best book ever. Love that girl! She's gonna be a Beast! Heck what am I talking about I Love them all! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I wasn't ready!!!

My goodness this was something I'm shocked I'm excited and I want more. This book was so good Dmitry is king followed by Anatoly and Gabriel. And the Medlov women were pure fire. I won't give in any spoilers away but I'm kind of pissed off about a death that happened in this book. Even though Mrs. Welch told us it would happen I was hoping for it be someone else that didn't really matter to me. But besides that amazing job. Dmitry's Redemption book 2 was kick ass!!!!

OMG...They made the Butcher really live up to his name !

OMG.... Latrivia you put your foot in this book. I got to 89% read and had to stop. The anxiety and suspense was killing me. My heart was racing faster and faster as I read. I had to take a break. I know that with war there will be loss but gosh, I did not expect what happened. After reading this series from the beginning, the characters grew on my heart and right now my heart aches for love lost and aches for love re-found and snuffed out again.

The series showed that even though Dmitry, Anatoly, Gabriel, and other cohorts are bad men, members devoted to the Bratva way of life, the one thing they had in their lives was a deep abiding love for their wives and family. That was one thing that Eric Popov's selfish spoiled self knew nothing about. He played the role of an idiot, biding his time to unleash his unholy plan. The Medlov men were willing to do what was necessary to keep their families safe. I truly believe that was why they were successful in this war.

Popov, Renat, Oleg, and Lev could not rise out of their classist bourgie hatred for Dmitry's working his way to success, even if that success made money for them. All they saw was a gutter rat bastard born to a whore. This same man, his son, and his nephew found love of women whom they would not associate with and did not understand the Medlov men's love of their wives. Those same women were not arm candy as the other women the men on the council would have as spouses. They saw their lives as partnerships with their husbands and were willing to defy them to work by their sides to make sure that whatever their husbands did was successful and that they would come home to them and their children, even if they had to sacrifice their lives to do it.

I can not applaud Latrivia enough for this series. If I could give it ten stars I would. This book was full of drama and suspense that had me crying in places. With that said, I noticed in the end how Anya was seated in the meeting with her father. She is going to be a storm to recond with when she comes of age. She will be unstoppable, just like her father. I can't wait to read the next Medlov book. The year-long wait was worth it. Congratulations Latrivia, this series should be made into a TV show, as a movie would not do it justice.

NOTES: Update after re-reading 22 Aug 2024 After re-reading my review I wrote years ago, I still stand by that review. I was reminded of some events I had forgotten about and found some new things I did not get the first time around. I still stayed up half the night reading this story because I just could not put it down. My heart hurt for Coral and Simeon for a love that could have been, and equally hurt for Gabriel and Valeriya for a love that was. What will become of Gabriel? Will he ever get over his loss? Come on Latrivia, curious and dedicated readers want to know.

Brilliantly written, terrifying story

The whole story from start to finish was captivating, I could not put the book down. At one point I cried I knew there would be casualties but I was convinced it would be a supporting character, alas I was wrong. This book is the bomb and anyone whose read the series about the Medlov Men will love this.

I'M SPEECHLESS...

I have loved every installment regarding The Medlov Crime Family. Czar Dmitry Medlov is the ultimate Alpha. The character is ALWAYS so well written that I feel an actual connection with him. The characters have been so well written over the years, I forget sometimes that it's not real.
The last book was huge disappointment! This was the first and only book regarding The Medlov Crime Family that I've given fewer than 5 stars.
It's as if Dmitry became more incompetent and emotional as the story progressed. I mean this is Dmitry Medlov we're talking about here. The Czar, The Butcher, the most powerful , ruthless, feared and respected boss of the brotherhood. Eric, on the other hand, seemed to go from a totally clueless and entitled idiot to the smartest guy in the room! Really??? From the very beginning of the "war" to the bitter end it was one disappointment after another.
Starting with Ivy's Twisted Vine, I've been anticipating each and every one of the books in the series!!! Every single book was a huge hit that left me looking forward to the next. This book right here...seriously shaking my head right now.

I can not praise these series and stories about the Medlov Crime Family enough. And this final story about the man, Dmitry and his wife Royal, and their family has come to the end. That is until I read these stories all over again. This is my second time read every single novel written about this crime family. I have to say, the author wrote about places, customs, cultural, countries, and on and on that created such a compelling read. I can not recommend The Medlov Family Crime series with every single store written about Demitry, Royal, and all of the other outstanding character that makes it such a must read enough. I have to say you will not be disappointed. I. Love. The. Medlovs! ENJOY!

The Medlov Series

The end of this book was hard. There is still so much to unravel. Spoiler alert: the death of Valeriya was gut wrenching. I really wanted her and Gabriel to walk in the sun set. Gabriel has been broken. What will become twins? Will Gabriel be able to find peace and recover his sanity? Because I do not want him to become Ivan.

Then there's Anya, for child there is such coldness. She had experience so much lost and death. She is a mini Dmitry.

As Erik, his death was to kind. He did not suffer enough.

Peaches and Marat are intriguing.

Anastasia and Nedai have earned respect. They are two souls who have found each other.

With such pain I feel the Medlov are more deadly then ever.

Dmitry's Redemption book 2

I loved this novel. I first got the 26 chapters and I was confused. Ended up calling Amazon to get all 30 chapters. I love the Medlov men and the Medlov women. I read the first 26 chapters twice. Then I read the whole 30 chapters twice. I can't comment on some things without spoiling it for others.
Latrivia wrote a good book with strong characters some good and some evil. I liked the introduction of the new characters and the development of Any and Dylan.

Although this is the end of the Medlov Men series it is not the end of. Dmitry or the Medlov's.

I finished a couple weeks ago. Thought I did a review but maybe not. The book is a wild roller coaster ride. Dmitry is himself and therefore he is a horrible patient and determined to protect his family. The Medlov men are true to form--truly incredible, loyal, confident and truly committed to the family. A few new players who are Dmitry allies were introduced and hopefully we will read more about them in the future. Gabriel is changing...becoming something different--stronger and more focused. Anil is off to medical school but had to grow up fast after surviving this last battle. The book is really intense and emotional.

Excellent Read!

I really enjoyed reading this book! I can't believe Latrivia killed off some good people! No spoilers here! I Love how close the Medlov Family is! Mrs Welch also put some things in this story that I was so shocked, but at the same time I understood it! For example when she wrote about a certain conversation between Anya and Anil, then Anya and Royal! That outcome wasn't what I thought it would be, but I Loved it! So much happened, but you were able to follow along very good! If you have not read any of Latrivia's books, you are truly missing out! This book right here is definitely a book that I recommend to Everyone!

Loved it!

Loved every minute of the finale! I just hated that as soon as I started to fall in love with one couple we lost the wife. I loved Gabrielles growth in this series and his love for his wife. I loved Royal’s passion and strength and even though we didn’t get much from my fav couple Renee and Anatoly, I still enjoyed their appearance and strength as a couple.

I’m so glad the war is over and Dimitry is now the Czar. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Medlov clan!

Latrivia Welch has written another brilliant book. It was well worth the wait. Great characters that have evolved over the series. Latrivia took a risk with not giving all the major characters an HEA. However her being such a brilliant writer only makes me wonder what she has planned for the future. With everyone in place I am anxious to read the next series. This series and book are a 5-Star MUST read

4 1/2 stars

First off, the only reason I didn’t give this five stars is the lack of editing. There were grammatical errors as well as wrong character names in scenes which drove me CRAZY! Now, that being said, the rest was off the freakin’ chain. There was never a dull moment. I was completely captivated. I couldn’t put this book down. I read it every chance I could. I was so anxious during the last few chapters, I had to take breaks to calm down. Great end to my favorite series!!!

All hail the king !!

The death of Erik felted to good for all the pain he caused. I hope and pray that Gabriel doesn't end up becoming more like Ivan .A man can only suffer so much before he breaks to the point of no return.I truly hate that royal never really got to have her second change with her mother and that Cora .missed the chance to know love with simeon. The wait for this book was long over due but it was worth the wait .I can't wait to see what comes next

A befitting end to a splendid saga

Bravo Ms Welch....Dmitry 2 was well worth the wait. I don’t normally write reviews because I don’t ever know what to say.. If as a reader you missed this opportunity to read a truly epic story of family..loyalty... sins of fathers and the Redemption earned in blood and sacrifice, then you will have missed an adventure in storytelling.

Wow

I have waited over a year for this installment of this series. It was worth it. Quite a few gammer errors but over all a good read. I just wished that the author would have answered a few pending questions. I read all the previous books something did not add up ages of the children for one.

Excellent

A well written story, oh my this did not pull any punches. In my opinion this series is romantic suspense/thriller. A very good storyteller, the only complaint I have is with the grammatical errors. That said it did not in any way lessen my pleasure in the series. Excellent again I recommend.

Magnificent read

As usual Ms. Welch has done it again with this exceptional crime family. I felt a veraity of emotions mostly surprised and sadness. This family has been through so much yet they are triumphant and remain a loving family. If you love action and adventure you need to read this collection of books.

Other outstanding series

I couldn’t put the book down often reading into the early hours of the morning. How has the Medlov series not made it to screen I’d never know. Words can’t describe how amazing these storylines are. It has everything from humour, sex, shock, intrigue, sadness. It has it all. A MUST READ!!

D@#m that was GOOD

I laughed and celebrated with them. I cried and mourned with them. The Medlov Crime Family practically leap off the page as real believable characters. I’ve enjoyed every book in the series and this one is no exception. It’s absorbing and well worth the read. You won’t be able to put it down or stop thinking about the characters long after you’ve finished.
