A unicorn shifter unashamed of who he is... A werewolf with a crush who doesn’t want to overstep... and a biological imperative that might take matters into its own hands.
Josh Parker is a digital artist, a documentary fan, and a unicorn shifter, to name a few things. He likes his life and he likes himself… even with the stereotypes that come with being a unicorn. Yeah, his body goes through a period every couple months where sex becomes a need over a want, but so what? He’s got his medications to regulate himself on top of finely honed self-control. Both good things, considering he’s nursing a huge crush on Raymond, his sweet, clever (and hot) personal trainer. Raymond’s a good guy, Josh’s friend, and he definitely isn't attracted to Josh. Josh doesn't want to ruin what they have.
Raymond Campbell may be altogether too interested in Josh, his smart and snarky (and ridiculously attractive) client, but he’s definitely not planning to say anything anytime soon. His sensitive werewolf nose can easily sniff out that Josh doesn’t have a whiff of interest in him, so Raymond knows there’s no point in making a move. He really, really likes Josh. The last thing he wants to do is make him uncomfortable.
When Josh goes to Raymond’s studio one rainy afternoon to work out, he thinks nothing of the fact that it’s his time of the month. He’s taken his usual precautions, so he can keep a lid on his own impulses without a chance of bothering Raymond.
Riley Rivers has been writing since they were a wee thing and aspires to be That Person who regularly sits in coffeeshops with a laptop and knows all the baristas. They are well on their way to achieving this dream.
sweet and sexy.. i love unicorn stories and this one made me smile and happy. it was a good friends to lovers and i really enjoyed it. i cant wait to read more of this series.
A unicorn shifter Josh deals with a “heat,” and all the trials that come with it, including his crush on friend and alpha werewolf Raymond.
This is a fun take on the “heat” trope. There’s misunderstandings both ways, and some delightful awkwardness. The heat is handled in a realistic and mature way, and how careful the characters are with each other really built up the believability of their long friendship, and how much they care about each other.
The sex scenes are fantastic, but I also enjoyed the aftercare and comfort this book had. Overall it was fun and light, but had a lot of heart. It was exactly what I was looking for in this genre.
A really cute, sweet shifter story. I loved Josh and Raymond, they were actually really good friends before they became involved. A sizzling night of passion has both hoping for more but a decided lack of communication on both their parts nearly derails the relationship before it even starts. Josh was such a sweetheart and Raymond was so kind and gentle. I loved how defensive and supportive tbey were of each other. I honestly wanted to knock some sense into both if them. Luckily they worked it out.
Josh is a unicorn and he has to go through with a ''heat'' every two months without fail. Yea, he takes care of himself, but he hates it, doesn't look forward to it and he wished that the insurance company paid for better quality scent blockers and suppressants. He really wished it when he went to see his personal trainer three times a wee. The sexy one, the one he has been hiding his scent from...you know...the handsome one. Raymond really enjoys Josh when he comes over for his training. He is kinda bummed though because Josh obviously doesn't have any feelings for him. His wolf nose knows when someone likes him and josh hasn't any scent at all...or just barely. We find two men who has a thing for each other. They suppress their feelings, and who was it that said a lack of good communication can ruin a relationship?....not them for sure. They bumble their way through life, not communication well and missing out on a lot of good things...like sex. Can these two men get together or lose their way with secrets and their awful communication skills? I hope so, but you will have to read the book to find out if they get HEA, 'cause, I can't tell you. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
