Shandra Higheagle Greer is minding her own business when she walks into a room for a massage and it is already occupied—by a dead body. Always the champion for someone she knows, when her favorite masseuse looks like the murderer, Shandra listens to her gut and dreams choreographed by her deceased grandmother. Detective Ryan Greer can’t believe his wife has walked into another homicide. He’s learned no matter how he tries to keep her out of the investigation he can’t. But this time the consequences could be deadly for Shandra—she heard the murder happen.
Paty Jager is an award-winning author of 55+ novels, novellas, and short stories of murder mystery, western romance, and action adventure. All her work has Western or Native American elements in them along with hints of humor and engaging characters. Paty and her husband raise alfalfa hay in rural eastern Oregon. Riding horses and battling rattlesnakes, she not only writes the western lifestyle, she lives it.
Another great mystery. Author Paty Jager has once again written a great mystery. Shandra and Ryan make a great couple both as husband and wife and partners solving mystery. The mystery is well plotted with plenty of suspects and surprises. I recommend this book to cozy mystery fans.
All thoughts and opinions are mine, I have not been influenced by anyone.
This mystery had more suspects than a picnic has ants. All of them had good reasons to want the victim dead, and there really isn’t a solid alibi in the lot. Ryan and Shandra have their work cut out for them sorting through the misdirections and double-crosses their suspects try to lead them through. But the Greers are tenacious and none of the suspects know about the Higheagle secret weapon. I love watching this pair do what they do best to divide and conquer and catch a criminal. I’m a little distressed by how often Shandra puts herself in potentially precarious situations, but I really like seeing the give and take between the couple to satisfy her need to be involved and Ryan’s desire to see her safe.
This is another good mystery that Shandra gets involved with. When Shandra goes into the room to get a massage, there is a woman already on the table. Once the masseuse comes, they find out she is dead. I admire Shandra on how she isn’t afraid to talk to suspects even though her husband Ryan wants her to stay out of it. He likes discussing the cases with her, especially when she has her dreams from her grandmother. But, he wants to keep her safe. Lil who lives on the property Shandra owns is a real character. Lil has a little excitement in her life in this book. As always, Ms. Jagger does an excellent job of keeping us guessing who the murderer is until the end. I enjoy trying to figure out who did it before I read it in the book. I enjoyed the book and strongly encourage you to read it, especially if you love mysteries. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Toxic Trigger-point: Shandra Higheagle Mystery (Shandra Higheagle Mystery #13) was a great read by Paty Jager. Shandra Higheagle Greer walked into a room for a massage to find that there was a dead body. Her favorite masseuse looks like a murderer and tries to follow her guy. She tries to listen to the dreams that are choreographed by her deceased grandmother. Her husband, Detective Ryan Greer, can't believe his wife walked in on another homicide. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
Shandra just wants a relaxing massage, and finds a body instead. This mystery has everything. A wealthy couple who know that money can make everything bad go away. A FBI agent who gets too close to a witness, and spa employees who aren’t always who they seem to be. Throw in grandma and her dream, and you have an intriguing mystery.
Toxic Trigger Point is an entertaining murder mystery about a woman who turns up dead at a spa. The main character is a potter with Native American roots who is married to a police officer.
The narrator of the audiobook does a pretty good job with the characters though she makes some of them sound a bit slow.
I feel like I have a connection to Paty Jager. She's a rancher in the northeastern part of Oregon and she writes about the areas that I've camped and hunted in. A place I love! This one is about Sandra Higheagle and yes she's at it again. Sandra stumbles across another body and her friend is the suspect. Sandra's never one to let a friend dangle. So as per usual She's gonna stick her nose into the investigation. Ann M Thompson isn't great, but a known consequence so for me it's worth getting the audio version.
The mystery was great, Patty does a great job in hiding the murder till the end bring a lot of suspense. I have enjoyed all the books Patty has written.
I really enjoy this series featuring Shandra Higheagle and Ryan Greer as she helps him solve murder mysteries. I particularly enjoy the Native American elements in many of the stories.
I've read every book so far in this series and have been engrossed in each one from the start of each book, and this one didn't disappoint me, from the 1st chapter I was hooked again and in 2 nights (could have easily been 1 long night! ) I'd finished it, and am eagerly waiting the next book...
Shandra finds a body in the room she's meant to be having a massage in at the local spa, as usual, her husband, Detective Ryan Greer is sent to investigate; and so starts another mystery which Shandra helps to solve, with the help of her dreams involving her Grandmother.
Alongside the mystery, Lil has a personality change and a man is involved, but is he who he says he is? Shandra will not let her employee and friend get hurt so she asks around.
Of course, there's Sheba too, can't forget the bear like dog afraid of her own shadow!
I love these books by Paty Jager, I've read the books in her new series too which are equally as good. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next in this series.
Another great Shandra Higheagle mystery! This one, however, has a slightly different tone. Sandra is just as independent and self confident as she has been but now that she is a married woman she is showing signs of trust for her husband. She doesn't have to be the one to do all the questioning to find out the clues to solve a murder. Ryan is by her side and she even let's him take the lead (it is his investigation) sometimes while she lets herself go home to bed.
I received an ARC and the opinions and views are my own. Another great Shandra Higheagle mystery. I love watching her grow with Ryan and work together as a team. My favourite character is Lil and this time she is given a love interest. I still did not guess the killer till the end. Lots of clues and plot twists. An excellent read. I would recommend this book to all who love a good mystery.
I enjoyed this well-written book. Shandra discovers another dead body and she and her police detective husband, Ryan, work together to follow the clues and figure out who did it and why. This was an entertaining book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I just finished binge-reading 12 books of the Shandra Higheagle Mystery series. Romance, mystery and Native American culture. I highly recommend this series.
