The last time Carl, Volka, and 6T9 fought the Dark, 6T9 failed Volka. If he wants her and all the carbon based life forms that he loves to survive, he needs to change. Change for an android is as easy as flipping a switch, but dealing with the consequences is not so simple.
To save Volka, he'll have to give up the part of himself that Volka adores. He'll need to become something an innocent, peace loving sex 'bot was never designed to be, something he despises.
To save Volka and the galaxy he'll need to become ... Android General 1.
C. Gockel got her start writing fanfiction, and she is not ashamed! Much. She received emails, messages and reviews from her fans telling her she should 'do this professionally'. She didn't; because she is a coward and life as a digital designer, copywriter and coder is more dependable. But in the end, her husband's nagging wore her down: "You could be the next '50 Shades of Gray' and I could retire!" Unfortunately, the author isn't much for writing smut. She is sad about this; she'd love for her husband to be able to retire and just work for her so she could nag him.
At the moment, Ms. Gockel is working on the next installment of her Archangel Project series.

Entertaining per usual, though C. Gockel left this book with zero closure and a final note that two more books will complete the series. Not sure what to make of that, but again this is not serious reading. In fact, if you lack a sense of humor you most likely will not "get into" the characters and their escapades.
Characters: A weere - think human wolf that is more human than wolf. No, not werewolf. I'm sure the pun is intentional. A werfle - think a ten legged weasel with telepathic capability. 6T9 - a sex bot' android. Definitely a play on words with the number designation. "Sixty," for short, becomes even more human in this edition and falls in love. Sundancer - a faster than light, sentient spaceship.
Keep your funny bone active when you read the Archangel series.
I was given an ARC for an honest review of this book but I have already pre-ordered it to support this author.
Loved this next chapter in Sixty and Volka’s life. Right from the beginning you could see that they had a special connection and where it will end up at will be interesting. They remind me of Noa and James in many ways.
Sixty has come into being his own person with the ability to change his programming without having to answer to anyone. He now owns himself. But with that, he is experiencing emotions which he knew intelligentially but never experienced emotionally. His first one was anger which he never knew that he had so much of it stored up in him. But later he experiences love, jealousy, empathy, and even humor. As he continues to grow, his also learns to control his emotions. Loved that you learn so much about him and on a side note you also learn a bit more about others like Alaric, James and the One.
Volka is from the lowest class of beings on Luddeccea, her home planet, but she has such special talents that she is respected by many in the higher administration. She has the ability to sense Dark and treats machines as friends and with respect. She is so unique and even though you think that she is naïve, she is not. She just has a lot of respect for others and wants to help where she can. She is a total contradiction where she can kill without thought but will fight to save even a machine.
Spoiler: the ending was a cliffhanger but in some ways it was not. I loved Sixty’s line just before the story ends. To me that was one of the best lines in the book.
Another fantastic book in the series. I think this was my favorite one so far! The perfect blend of exciting, well paced space adventure while also examining what makes a person - human or otherwise. What does it mean to have choice? What morality guides you - a higher power? Self interest? Is it more valuable to actively choose to save a life or to do it unthinkingly? There are also big strides made in the epic, universe-ending fight against the Dark that will keep your heart in your throat.
If you are rooting for Sixty and Volka you will be very pleased! Even the side characters are compelling. My favorite new character is the robot coldSWEEPER. Overall the only complaint I have is that we now how to wait for the next one.
As with the rest of the series I bought the paperback, and it was very well formatted and presented. Cover delightfully consistent with earlier entries. For those who still prefer a physical book these things matter and I'm happy to say the quality is great.
I've read all the books in this series so far (been gifted ARC's) and LOVE it!! C. Gockel has a great way of combining whit with science to bring this sci fi adventure to life. There are glimpses of injustices from our world portrayed in this futuristic world, every day struggles encountered by our favorite characters. The adventure isn't over yet, and this book ends with Volka, Carl and 6T9 headed in different directions to battle against the Dark... Can't wait to see what happens next with these characters, as well as Noa, James and Alaric...
The battle against the Dark continues, while the 6T9 robot becomes more human and the Weere woman, Volka becomes more mystical. Together with marines and the only surviving sentient spaceship, they battle the Dark. While all this is happening, 6T9 asks Volka to marry him, knowing that Volka loves Darmadi, the one in charge of the fleet, and gets the chance to decide whether he lives or dies........... Happy reading.
I was super excited when I saw the title for this book in the series - Sixty was going to level up, woohoo! I'm still excited. C. Gockel continues to weave her own unique blend of action and philosophy in the most absorbing way. The character growth is fantastic and I'm really enjoying the development of the side story arcs as well. The only downside, truly is the wait for the next book!
I love this series, and this stoey arc is awesome. The characters and world they live in is so cool (except for the impendong doom on the horizon... lol) i usually listen through audible, but just couldn't wait for it o be released-- so I'll have to buy it to listen to when that happens.
I hope Admiral Wolf isn't too far off, thank you C.Gockel for creating this story!
Sixty, Volkswagen, Alaric, Carl, James, Alexis, and all the rest of the ensemble grow and experience new challenges. I absolutely love the relationships and interactions. I could not put this book down. Very highly recommended
Really! If the author had not left us hanging on a thread, I would have given this space opera five stars. We are promised in 2 more books to get this epic story completed, so I guess we all get to wait until 8 and 9 are released.
I have enjoyed every book in this series, but omg, now I have to wait for the rest of the story? I just love Volka and Sixty. Can’t wait for the next installment.
To truly appreciate this journey you need to start with the first book. Like Heinlein and Asimov you need to start at the beginning. You will not be disappointed.
Another real good book... that's some of the most off-the-wall Sci-Fi you'll probably ever read... but it's good and I can't stop reading them! Highly recommended.
This book is a bit darker than the earlier books in this part of the series. The danger has become too great for much humor to seem appropriate. There are some parts of this book that seem unnecessary and could probably have been edited out, but the rest is very good. We get full out battle mixed with characters struggling to take their fate into their own hands and determine who they are and who they want to become. 6T9 has to start considering whether he is 6T9, Sixty, or Android General 1 - or if there is any way for these traits to exist together. And the question of how much you would change to be what the person you love wants or needs carries throughout the story. The book does end in a major cliffhanger, though, so be prepared to read the next one right away.
Note: This is book seven in the series. You have to have read at least the previous three to follow the story, and, as mentioned above, it ends in a cliffhanger so you will need to read on.
