So, this was unexpected, in not a bad way. Turns out, Merciless King is more than meets the eye. Quite a bit more. It’s MMA meets Mafia. That’s all I’m gonna say on that so as not to give away plot points.
Get ready to twist and turn and twist again and whoooooooa, so that’s happening thru the whole reading. It’s quite the ride. Captivating and sexy, this story sparked from the start! Chuck and Caroline sparked from the start! The entire story was fire! I loved it!

Whoa!! Merciless King has a lot for me to love...mafia...sports...romance...steam...and good solid characters...Chuck is a professional boxing champion and Caroline is his “one-night stand” ....These two have some big obstacles to overcome, some smoking hot chemistry...and a storyline with so many twists and turns, you have to read every page to follow it....If you like to read darker, Merciless King is a good choice...Ellie Jean’s Cocky Hero Club book is one of her best...♥️🌼

Wonderful. I absolutely loved this sports mafia book by Ellie Jean who was a new author to me. Caroline and Chuck were so good together and their chemistry was so hot. I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down. This book is part of The Cocky Hero Club but can be read as a standalone. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.

Loved this completely original spin on the Cocky World. This is Cocky World x Mafia with a side of sports romance and not to mention some HOT hot scenes between Chuck and Caroline. This is one not to be missed.

If you have read any of the Cocky Hero Club Novels you know that there is a link back to the series of standalone's written by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward - Merciless King has Dex from Mister Moneybags making a guest appearance as he and our heroine Caroline were buddies in that book!.
Chuck is a fighter and wants to challenge for the Heavy Weight Boxing Title of the World he is focused on his goal until he meets the beautiful Caroline little did they know but their worlds were more aligned then either of them could possibly of imagined and not in a good way.
Carolines father is rich and powerful and at 10 Caroline was kidnapped by the Basilio family and her father had to enlist the help of another Mafia family to help him and the debt is about to be needed repaying with Caroline once again at the centre of it - only difference is it now affects Chuck as his father who he thought was dead is revealed.
This is a fast past hot romance with a mystery to it that I throughly enjoyed and am sure you will to. r

This was another great read from this author, and a perfect addition to this world many authors are taking part in.
With lovable characters and a plot that will keep you on your toes, you'll be enthralled from cover to cover.
Both main characters showed strength and resilience no matter what obstacles were thrown at them.
It contained two of my favourite tropes, so this girl was one happy camper.
Definitely recommend whether you're new or familiar to this author.

A King will always protect his Queen...
Ellie Jean is a new author to me, how did I not know about her? This story captured my interest right from the first chapter. Caroline and Chuck's journey has all the elements I crave in a book. Mafia, Boxing, Romance and enough sizzle to heat up my kindle.
Chuck is best described as an Alpha sex on a stick. He is dominant but has a soft spot, especially for Caroline. Caroline has a no nonsense attitude. I love strong and feisty women. They are a perfect match together.
There is drama and angst weaved into their story that give it a delicious edge. I am definitely hungering for more of this couple.

I absolutely adored this book based in The Cocky World Series. Mafia Sports romance filled with plenty of action drama suspense and passion. So many twists and turns.
The sexual chemistry between Caroline and Chuck was intense from their one night stand forward.
The storyline was well written the side characters were intriguing. I want more.
Chuck is indeed strong, cocky arrogant and sexy as hell.
Caroline is a only daughter to a wealthy businessman who has always been a wonderful father, allowing Caroline the freedom or so she thought.
A strong independent stubborn boxer wanting to be the heavyweight champion and a rich sassy woman who lives by her own rules. That is until everything changes.

What an absolutely brilliant story. There was absolutely nothing in this book i didn't like. I was pulled into it from the beginning and didn't want it to end. I was so disappointed when I finished, I just wanted more. Brilliant story.

Wow what an amazing read this was. There was so much going on, i devoured it, couldn't put it down. Chuck and Caro are amazing together, they are exactly what each other needs at that point in their life. The need someone to depend and lean on and that is exactly what they are to each other. A one night stand that ends up being sooooo much more!

Merciless is a fabulous addition to the Cocky Hero Club. I loved Chuck and Caroline's story. It certainly checked off all my boxes ....romance, suspense, mystery, mafia and MMA fighting. That is a recipe for me for a great read.

This book was awesome, an unexpected story by Ellie Jean. It had all the wonderful elements of action, love, lust, surprise that I am used to when reading her books. It made me feel all the feels, happy, sad, angry, scared. I love the rough side to the story and already wish there was a follow-up to this story. In the end it was an awesome love story with a HEA. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to read it and give my review.

This was a new author for me and I was excited for a chance to read something by someone new to me. These book was part of the cocky series and was alil bit of x mafia with some sports romance thrown into it. Caroline and Chuck were perfect for each other. I literally couldn't put this book down once I started to read it.

Chuck and Caroline were fire! Total intense raging fire.
These two are electric together and had a wicked hot chemistry from the get go. I loved the two sides of them both. I loved them being able to be the best versions of themselves together.
The hardships are tough and the angst is real but I wished Caroline would've been a little more ballsy when sh*t hit the fan. I wanted to see her fight, not just cower in the corner and hide..
Overall I really enjoyed this book and the characters.

I absolutely loved Caroline and Chuck's story. Their impressive mafia/sports romance plotline had me enthralled inside the pages. The suspense and intrigue, the fast-paced action and holy wow, their insanely hot chemistry practically melted my Kindle. I freaking loved Caroline and her badass, determined and independent self. And Chuck, that alpha deliciousness with a soft center, yum! Ms. Jean is a favorite author of mine and I was pretty excited to see her participating in the amazing Cocky Hero Club world of books.

Caroline and Chuck were perfect for each other. I loved Caroline’s take no bs attitude and Chuck being a OTT alpha I absolutely loved it he was such a sweetheart. The storyline was really really good, I was glued to my kindle from start to finish.

Chuck is a fantastic character, without giving anything away I can tell you he is hardworking and has a heart of gold. Yes, he is a tad arrogant but that’s not something that seems to last long, his better qualities do. Caroline is a rich, businesswoman who is super sexy and has a terrific sense of humor. Together they are dynamite and their passion is extremely explosive.
The spin on this mafia theme is a different one and works really well, which is refreshing. I found it super easy to read because of its fast-paced and exciting storyline. There’s a great balance between the darker elements of the mafia side and the lighter elements of the romances within the story.

Merciless King was fantastic! I really enjoyed this book! It has sports, mafia, action, and suspense. I was hooked from the very beginning. The twists and turns had me guessing what would happen until the very end. I loved Chuck and Caroline! They are great characters. Caroline is sweet, caring, and independent while chuck is athletic, protective, and strong. Chuck is determined to become the next boxing champion but some interesting news may change the path of his life forever. After meeting Caroline there is a lot to learn and many secrets are uncovered. Can Chuck have it all or will there pasts be too much to overcome? This story was written very well and now I am curious about this world. I have not read any other stories from the Cocky Hero Club and now I am going to have to check them out. I would highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this book. When Chuck and Caroline met, they originally just wanted a one night hook-up. But they both soon realized there was something more there. I absolutely loved their connection.
I really liked how Chuck and Caroline were able to let go and show a different side of each other when they were together.
When some family secrets are brought to life, this story took a whole new turn and really picked up speed. I was so glad when Caroline finally stood up to her father. That was long overdue.
Highly recommend this book.

I loved Ellie Jean's take on her Cocky Hero. MERCILESS KING was dramatic, sexy and romantic, with a touch of Mafia darkness added to make it thoroughly intriguing. Hooked from the opening chapter, this was an extremely hard book to put down.
Chuck Sansone has one dream ... to hold the World Boxing Heavyweight title. It's been his goal for as long as he can remember, and nothing is going to stand in his way. His focus is solely on winning that title ... until a certain blonde begins to take some of that focus. Caroline Chambers does not suffer fools, she has a no-nonsense attitude and I couldn't have loved her more. Strong, determined, sassy, this woman knew what she wanted from life and from men. Then she met Chuck, and everything changed.
Two different worlds collide and the sexual chemistry, tension and desires take over. The passion between the two is completely off the charts, while their banter had me laughing quite a few times. Clothes never seemed to be a priority when these two were together. Just when everything seemed to be going along nicely, Chuck's previously unknown links to the Mafia throw a spanner into the works and the story moves into another direction, producing a spellbinding read.
Ellie Jean has put together a perfect story. With enough romance, drama and suspense I couldn't help but be intrigued. I love the way Dex Truitt (from Mister Moneybags) was given a role in this story. He slotted in just nicely. Overall, this was a terrific story, one that I didn't want to end, and one that I highly recommend.

Merciless King is an unforeseen story by Ellie Jean. Chuck and Caroline are intense and had a lot of hot chemistry. The plot had all the elements you want in an awesome story. The story line will keep you hooked until the end. I received an advance copy of this book via Give Me Books Promotions and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sports and mafia in the same book?! Hell yeah, sign me up! Ellie Jean is a new to me author, and I absolutely LOVED Merciless King. Chuck is trying to achieve his dream of being the Heavyweight Champion in the World (obviously he's a boxer), and he's not about to let anyone distract him from that goal. Well, that is until he hooked up with Caroline, who is his perfect match & that chemistry (I'm fanning myself again), but little did they know how intertwined their lives really were. A bunch of family secrets are being revealed to make those fun twists to get the f-bombs dropping as each bomb (and not f-bomb because those come from me) is dropped. I honestly don't want to get into any more detail because the fun is so much better going in blind! So you know what to do & I"ll HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Merciless King has an enticing premise: a Cocky boxer on his way to becoming the world's heavyweight champion, a one-night stand with a smart and sassy blonde and family secrets that could stand in his way. All wrapped with a splash of drama and the most powerful mafia family who runs New York City.
I've never read a book by Ellie Jean and this story seemed like it could be the perfect starting point to know her work. Merciless Kings starts just a Chuck is ready to celebrate the win that will guarantee his shot at the title. Caroline is the daughter of a business tycoon in need to unwind for a night. Their chemistry is evident from their first exchange. He has no filter and she is the right match for him. She bounds to no one, knows what she wants and it's not afraid to say so.
Chuck has worked hard for his dream and is not willing to give up, even when a past he wasn't aware of comes crashing his life. Caroline has a past of her own, one she has tried to put in the back of her mind. But who gets to chose how life goes? And so the story develops.
But, overall, Merciless King didn't work for me. And it had nothing to do with the writing. I just simply didn't connect with the characters and got annoyed a lot. I guess it wasn't the book for me.
