I read this during a week of upheaval and pressures from all fronts and it was such bliss reading for the ENJOYMENT.

For too long I've been reading books which took so much away from me that reading this left me invigorated.

Sex, Lies DECLASSIFIED is the second in the trilogy. Having read Sex, Lies and Stellenbosch, I was looking forward to the drama because the ending of SLS was a cliffhanger of great heights.

Eva Mazza does not disappoint. The lives and dramas of the wealthy are stretched beyond breaking point that I am more than looking forward to the third instalment. The structure and form of Sex, Lies DECLASSIFIED made for a read with an impressive pull effect.

John is still the biggest asshole ever but I felt so sorry for him towards the end. Pete grows into an admirable young man and poor Bridgit...Frankie and Jen...well, you'll have to read this till the end to find out more.

I love stories which centre friendships, especially women-friendships because I cannot imagine going through life without my network of girlfriends across all ages. I love stories which centre family no matter how dysfunctional. I love stories which do not try to deal with contemporary political issues playing out on the global stage because most times, things are not clear cut. We miss something. A nuance. A gesture. A look. An action. Sometimes we only read the room after the fact. I love stories which do not leave the sociopolitical landscape of the locale out of the narrating because that is how our communities are structured. Inequalities, stereotypes, sexism classism and racism. Wealth and white privilege. Stories in the winelands partularly, still have Master/Slave undertones. White people who had accumulated wealth in the apartheid era still battle, up to today, to come to terms with the ending of apartheid and separatist policies and we see that in a couple of characters in Sex, Lies DECLASSIFIED.

I love stories which stretch my imagination because hey, these lockdown restrictions have me imagining my lives outside of restricted environment. Travelling. Dining out. Having spritzers with friends. Dressing up. Venturing further than my gate.

If you are looking for escapism with plenty of sex, sexy and sensuality AND a huge dose of WTF, this is it! "Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives".

'Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.'
A light and beautiful read, the second book of her trilogy. When I reviewed her first book, Sex, Lies and Stellenbosch, I said do not go around envying people's lives because what happens behind closed doors will shock you. This was after Jen was betrayed by her bestie who for years slept with her man under her nose. Enough about that... in her second book, it's getting worse. The book is a light read from the beginning but as it develops, a lot is revealed. The day to day lives of the rich and famous get interesting as you turn the pages. After those expensive dinners, wines and Gins; there are a lot of tears, secrets and betrayals.

I am not the one for lot of sex scenes and that is what I loved about the book, the author leaves a lot to our imagination. There's lot and lot of sex scenes, but the how, made me read this easily. I even wished in some scenes she could go deeper but the effects were the same, the mind knows what it knows...

John, the cheater... Shame, things are not going well for him. He is an outcast in this offering though his kids are trying to involve and show him love, he is still a problem to many. Now am wondering what he will do with Shelley's explicit pictures, lord have mercy! His daughter, Brig, I really hope, she's her father's daughter because wow, they resemble each other, with almost everything. From rudeness to sleeping with anyone they want without considering the victim's partners. Oooh! I loved the helper, Gladys... She did a number with that sjambok, I was like 'go on woman, whip that arse! I loved how Pete has grown as a character...very matured.

It saddened me to see almost all relationships not surviving in this read, those between friends, kids with parents and women and their lovers. The one that killed me the most was for Myron and Jen.... I loved how he loved Jen but also I understand where Jen is coming from. Sometimes we have to be selfish and think about what we want not about what everyone expects of us.
There were a lot of cliffhangers here, I cannot wait for some of the answers. One word.... Lee....

The drama continues, yes a bit predictable but still keeping you in the loop of wanting to know more. I felt like this could have turned better if it became a tv adaptation cause there is so much drama in Stellenbosch and syndicates. Of note, I considered that Jen rashed into a relationship before she had time to herself and love herself ending up looking so selfish and self-centered. John🤦🏾‍♀️continues with his shenanigans resulting in an unexpected end. Brig 🙌🏾🙌🏾 lover of controversy. The ending of this book yaah, hopefully, the final book of this trilogy will give us enough closure of the drama in the Winelands of Stellenbosch.

Highly recommend it for lovers of fiction and faction.

How can it end like that? I thought this would be a self-contained story like the first one, but it ends on a cliff-hanger and I NEED to know what happens next!

This book started out light and fluffy, but it turned quite a bit heavier. I enjoyed the change of pace.

Loved this second book of the Stellenbosch series. Easy read, and I liked the fact that the chapters are not long. Can't wait to read how the story of Jen, and co. ends.

Well, if I described the first book in this sassy trilogy, “Sex, Lies & Stellenbosch”, as “The Real Housewives of Stellenbosch”, then “Sex, Lies Declassified” just upped the ante to full-blown soapie territory.

Once again, we are transported back to the glamour and turbulations of the Winelands – and the scandals and betrayals keep coming.

The family drama continues and, in this book, almost every one’s personal relationships are put to the test. The story continues where the previous book left of, and although in the beginning it feels like a bit of a fluffy chick-lit read (there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I must say), it becomes quite a bit more intense and tense as you keep turning the pages. And sometimes you can’t turn it fast enough! Eventful, short chapters make this such an entertaining read.

As with the first book, the author deals with current socio-political topics, specifically sexual abuse, human trafficking, racism, sexism, corrupt business practices and vigilante justice.

I enjoyed the fact that Pete and Patty got a bit more attention as well, their characters are more visible and developed.

I may have missed it the first time around, but the race of some of the key players are prominently mentioned in this book, which I found quite interesting.

I read somewhere that, to mention in a review that there is a plot twist, can be seen as a spoiler, so I will not mention it then! *wink* One word though – cliff-hanger!

The next and final instalment of this saucy saga, “Sex, Lies & Alibis” are waiting for me, I hope to be able to dig into that soon!

With thanks to NB Publisher’s / Melinda Ferguson Publishers for the opportunity to read this book.

That escalated quickly......this book started off as such a slow burn but it all took a turn and went to shit very fast 💨

My absolute fav highlight was when Gladys bleksemed the privilege outta John's arse with that sjambok! 🥷🥷🥷 I was screaming like a friggin village idiot. So well deserved, well done my girl 💥💥💥

I definitely enjoyed the second book and all the drama that came with it (the amount of YHOOOOOOOOO's that came outta my mouth lol) - the Stellenbosch elite definitely gave off 'Days of Our Lives / The Bold & The Beautiful' vibes 😮‍💨🤌🏼

I need to get my hands of the final book ASAP because that ending leaves alot to be desired 🤯🫨 I need answers!

Ahh, I do not even.... just another winner really, this segment of the book has alot of mystery in it, which works on my nerves hehehe which is a good thing because it kept me going throughout the book. There is one character that makes me angry throughout...lets just say, she is a little brat, I cannot stand her! hehe but all in all, so-so well written, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one!

Yes I know it's in the title, but there is a *lot* of sex in the book. To the point where it feels like it's just there to be there instead of actually contributing to the story line.

I was hoping for more meat to the Patty story line, but not enough attention was given to that imo. I found the John & Frankie scene towards the end of the book quite disturbing.

A quick and easy read. It feels like this installment had fewer plot twists that the first book. I look forward to the last installment. We need to know how this saga ends…

Sex, Lies Declassified - Eva Mazza

Once again the author knows how to bring the heat. A racy novel with a mysterious tone. It was great to see the development of some supporting characters from the previous novel (Sex, Lies and Stellenbosch).  The first book left me guessing and this one did too.  I'm really looking forward to the next in this series to see how the plot plays out.
