Fidget is a young puppy training to be a herding dog and look after Farmer Fred’s sheep flock. But he isn’t interested in learning when there are more fun things to explore. His poor listening and training gets him into some trouble with the Farmer and he fears he will never be a good sheepdog. But when a wolf threatens the flock, Fidget is the only one who can save them.
My 3 year old daughter loves this book. It has the right amount of silly bits and of course the cute puppy illustrations help. I think it’s relatable to many children who might have a hard time sitting still or paying attention to things they aren’t interested in, and are then made to feel like they’ve failed, it has an encouraging, although maybe not fully realistic resolution to that particular problem.

This is a great fictional narrative about a sheepdog. It would be an excellent mentor text for kindergarten to grade two writers. My son enjoyed the story and was able to make accurate predictions while we read it.

OMG ... read this book and I'm getting it for my nephew Junior who is very wiggly but a good boy who knows what to do when it counts! I'm giving it to hi for Valentine's Day 2023.
