The MC life was a hard one, but it was also sweet for Texas. He found his place until he broke the cardinal sin and lied to his club. She was never meant to crash back into his life. From a place he’d left behind years ago, But the moment he saw Penelope Astor, New York’s elite socialite, a cord was struck in his chest and he knew he had a second chance at living.
Who hasn’t bought a woman in a wedding gown from a rival MC and then kept her for himself? It’s absurd and yet … their desire feels like redemption.
He wants forgiveness. He wants his brotherhood back.
He aches for the indecent love he feels building between them.
She’s a breath of fresh air, adorably innocent and so lovely that the once-cultured biker has no choice but to be owned by her.
Thwart the enemy to help his former club and keep the girl? It’s a tall order, but Texas really doesn’t have anything to lose.
His lies got him into the mess. Can lying for the right reason give back his life?
Read in order to better appreciate the ongoing background story lines...or jump right in if you don’t mind missing out on the world building back stories and character development♥
I write steamy, emotionally driven contemporary and MC romance, featuring tough-as-nails alpha men who only show their soft side for their person.
My books are packed with dirty talk, detailed sex scenes, and swoony, slow-burn chemistry that explodes. I lean into dark-lite themes, sometimes forbidden tropes, but I always deliver that satisfying, well-earned HEA.
Currently, I’m riding with bikers and bad boys—but one day I’ll be bringing you the dirtiest, most seductive vampire in paranormal romance. If you love intense love stories, broken characters, and men who love hard and fight harder, I’ve got something for you. 🖤
So I had to take a couple of days after reading this book, just so I could try to find the words to adequately describe my love for all the words that Victoria has given us. At the beginning I was a little weary of Poppy but the more I got to see below the surface, the more I loved her and by the end of the book, she was probably one of my all time favourite heroines written, ever!!! Poppy is girly, and naive and not at all worldly or jaded and for me, that gave me something I don't often get and I loved her for it. She comes across almost weak but her strength comes through when you least expect it and the confidence that she builds is truly awe inspiring. Texas, oh Texas...Where do you even start with this man?!?! My heart feels like it has finally come home now that we have gotten his story. I had truly missed him and getting to see him and watch him grow and see where to all comes from just makes me over the moon happy. Texas has changed so much and yet it was in the best way possible, seeing him do what was needed not only for Poppy but for his MC family warmed my heart and soul when I didn't even realise I needed it. So much goes on in this book, so much is revealed so sit with some tissues and some chocolate and make sure you have an entire day free because once you pick this book up, you won't want to put it down again. There is absolutely everything that I could ever want and need in this story, all the laughing to the point of tears and crying because of the utmost growth and the sexy times...can we just take a minute here, Vic knows how to write a sex scene that will have you squirming in your seat, but what really gets me, is that Vic is the Queen of the perfect kiss!!! For me, the first kiss is always the most important and she did not disappoint, I felt that all the way down to my soul but what I love is that every kiss between these two is just beautiful, wether it's sweet or savage, you can feel their souls touching! I cannot wait to see what Victoria does with the Souls next, she has 7 full length novels and 3 novellas and I am not even remotely close to having enough of these amazing men and their woman!! This is my honest and unbiased review!
“Life was funny like that. Sometimes it delivered you places you never thought you’d go...”
Where to even start. When old flames return. Coming back into Texas’ life now with Penelope’s own world upside down, together will they find a way to make their worlds upside right?
“Her family didn’t need to understand how she felt, she didn’t think they ever would, but Poppy was truly and wholeheartedly happy for the first time and content like never before.”
I love the little inserts this author does from her other series. I kind of squeal with excitement and in awe. Such a story weaver.
But i never guessed how V. Theia would get Texas back to Colorado.
“He considered a few times taking what he knew to Lawless, but though some of the boys were friendly with him, it didn’t mean they’d trust his word.”
The little twists author lady does in this story, will truly have readers with their jaws wide open. There was so much story in this book. From Penelope finding her way in her new life, to Texas finding happiness, to the entire MC world coming to some ends of somethings and the beginning of others. Always leaving you wanting more of the world and completely sedated and enthralled with the main couple’s love story.
“She has changed him and she had no clue what she’d done.”
This story moves the MC world forward in ways i never imagined. #inlawlesswetrust
That’s what keeps bringing me to this author. Her amazing ways of weaving her worlds. Storytelling is in her DNA. And I just love how Texas finally got the HEA he deserved.
“He deserved to have someone for himself who loved him wholly, flaws and faults, mistakes and regrets. She loved him completely.”
“And he didn’t know his lies would have bought him to this indecent and perfect happiness. He might’ve lied sooner had he known.”
I cannot state highly enough how much I loved this book.
Tex and Poppy are my ideal couple (sorry Beau and Winter I still love you)
V has done it again, with a hot read that has your emotions all in a flutter. I smiled, cried, laughed and was on the edge of my seat. This series just gets better and better and I hope it continues for a heck of a long time. #InVicWeTrust
Texas has been one of my favorites in this amazing series since the first time that I discovered him. There was just something about this beautiful man. I was sad, literally and figuratively, when he was forced to leave. The author did a phenomenal job creating a character that was caught betwixt a rock and a hard place. I felt pain at the position he found himself in because I could empathize with both sides of the betrayal. Which made me that much more invested in what was going to happen in this book and how the story would evolve in finding peace for both sides.
Well, let me just say the author not only did it but she did it with a twist that I didn't see coming. Texas was everything that I knew he could be and more. However, the surprise was Penelope. This girl was exactly what he needed and deserved. There were a few times that I was caught off-guard at her naivete but then I, too, fell under her spell. She made Texas happy. She gave him a reason to smile. AND, she stood up for him after many years that he had no one doing that for him. That made her priceless.
There were glimpses into other characters' stories that definitely had my attention piqued as well as some glimpses of their lives which I greatly loved because this whole series is a favorite for a reason. I also liked seeing the interactions of the other characters and Texas again. I cannot wait to see what happens next and hopefully get a few answers to a pretty big plot twist.
I cannot recommend this author or this series enough. There is a reason that she is a one-click author for me. She is that good. This series does need to be read in order because there is a storyline that weaves through the background of the story that overlaps. Plus, it helps to know the characters as they make several appearances throughout each book.
I loved Tex, I mean I liked him before, even with all the drama with the club. But with Poppy, they are just so adorable. She loved him forever, the real him. Glad we finally understand the backstory of the Hunt twins and Addison.
I loved the twist in the tail with Mal. Hopefully he can join the Souls too
Loved having the mention of other characters like Noah and Sena, and Tom
There is a few questions raised, so Im hoping the next book is out tomorrow???
This series!!!!! I absolutely love love love this series! It's like snuggling in a warm blanket directly from the dryer. It gives me so much comfort to delve back into the Renegade Souls world. I hope it goes on for a very long time. This is the best MC series I have read in a lllllooooooonnnnngggggg time! It makes me happy, swoon, sigh, cry and I know overall, throughout the drama and heart-stopping moments ( you know the one in this one... Oh prez!! ) I trust V. Theia to always deliver a HEA. Her epilogues make my day. She wraps the romances up in delicious bows and leaves me wanting more from the rest of the gang. So much goodness happened in this book, I think we all were waiting for Texas to get back with the boys, gah, his sadness made me sad. I loved seeing a different side to the well cultured tie wearing biker and I loved how Poppy loved him gruff and all. How he protected her and tried to make his wrongs right, despite danger to his own life. This is my kind of hero.
and when he got bossy..eh yes please!! The biker who wears ties can boss me around.
It's all the stars from me because days later this book is still on my mind and I'm awaiting my paperback. i don't buy many physical copies, sadly don't have the room, but V. Theia is a must for me. these boys and girls are fantastic. If you love MC like I love MC, where it is character driven all the way from beginning to end, then this is for you. It's hot. it's sexy. it's dreamy. it's heart stopping. it made me laugh and cry. and ache and die and cry some more. and then I was happy. so happy. I'll leave you with my last thought of this book ( besides being dreamy happy for Texas ) LAWLESS.....WHAT!!!!?!?!!?!?
Simply brilliant. The MC series everyone needs and not just for the hot hot hot bikers ( though they are delicious ) the storylines that go on in front and in the background continue to have me slack jawed. V. Theia is a wizard at dropping crumbs of interest for every biker and yet the romance between Texas and Penelope was ever present on the page. I felt every palpable second of this broken biker coming home to buy a runaway bride back from a rival MC and then letting her live with him because she had nowhere else to go. it was such a simple plot and I was hooked into it. I needed Texas happy more than I need chocolate. When he got kicked out of the MC for his wrong decisions, it killed my book loving heart. My investment in this series is higher than any other series now, that's how GOOD the author is. Now I'm left happy and sated and also ravenous for more because the crumbs to the other bikers are just so enthralling, I can't help but need their books now. Every sexy, heartfelt and funny word built this book into one of my faves of the series and every one has been amazing. I already want to re-read Texas and to fall in love with the goat dad all over again. He's everything we wanted and so much more than we didn't expect. Virgin heroines are never my fave, but Poppy was amazing, and just the woman to bring him back from the brink. Her naivete was so lovely and innocent that I fell under her warm spell instantly because she too was seeking happiness and she found it with the most unlikeliest of people from a life she'd never known existed before, and she did it by taking a chance. Gah, my feelings loved this book so much!!!
OMG! I love Texas and Poppy. Texas has always been one of my favorite character in the series and as you can imagine, I waited patiently for his book (his redemption) and V. Theia did not disappoint…not that I think she would. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this book and the series. I cried…I laughed…I cried…and laugh some more…really a rollercoaster of emotion. I love the two main characters together…can you say chemistry for days. I never thought I would like Poppy so much, so I was surprise that I did. She was hilarious, sweet, and loyal…the way she stood up for Texas make me love her even more—just who he needs in his life. Of course, the rest of the boys made multiple appearances and can you say Rider was the shit! There were some new characters that showed up and I can’t wait to see what V. Theia has in store for them. The characters each have a unique quality that draws you in. I love the way the amazing V. Theia brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotion...their pain..their love. The plot got me on the edge of my seat…you will have to wait to find out what happens, but all I can say is FREAKING WOW!!! PLOT TWIST GOT ME LIKE WOW! I have to keep repeating #invicwetrust. You will not be able to put this book down for a second and you won’t want to. #invicwetrust #authorcrush
“Little badass,” he amused in her ear and she beamed, clutching his chest. “I’d walk through fire for you, you have to know that.”
Wow, she did it again. She had me reeled in from page one and I'm still heavy breathing now after the last word. Texas brought it and then some! This had everything. i nearly died several times with the plot twist to end all fucking plot twists. I nearly screamed and thought the author had done me dirty but she played it so subtle and amazing. I can't ever see me loving a MC series as much as this one (I have a top three) honest to goodness fantastic writing, plotting, character building, mush upon sexy mush. Devoted bikers which i love the most of all.
AMAZING BOOK 7. 5 STARS!!! Don't skip and jump in on book 7. enjoy the rise and fall of Texas from the beginning and his comeback. You won't regret it. you'll meet lawless, and hawk. my 2 favorite characters of the whole series and no one wants to miss out on them!
My last review of the year and a FANTASTIC ONE to end on!!!
I simply adore V. Theia's writing. She's drawn me into every single MC book (and her other series) almost from page one. I was eager for Texas' book having been heartbroken when he got kicked out of the Renegade Souls MC. It was so lovely to see this broken man being healed by the lovably melodramatic girl with her heart wide open for the boy she'd always loved. Loved more how Poppy got a backbone, stood up for her man on two occasions. the twists and turns will keep you gasping. this book was fuck hot. SO MUCH HOT that I needed a time out. Such a fantastic addition to the series which keeps getting better and better. Dying to know what happens next. and FINALLY FOR RIDER! Yes, my boy held in there and got what he wanted. PURE PERFECTION!, I don't have enough words to describe the magnificence of this story.
Oh yes Texas and Poppy, well isn't little Penelope a little ball buster hey! might be a socialite and tries her hardest at smack talk, but she stands up for her man, even against the big bad bikers, and the Ice Queen, and Texas beams with pride for finding someone that will always have his back and fight his corner, he might not have his MC anymore but he has got his Poppy, who he can make into an inferno with his all his dirty talk! I give my Texas five dirty talking stars *****
This book was well worth the wait. We're riding again with the Renegade Souls MC and this is Texas and Poppy's story. This was rollercoaster ride if a book and it did have a few heart stopping moments. I'm excited to see what's up V. They'd Sleeve next.
TEXAS OWNED ME! This book. OMG. Book 7 and those Renegade Souls are fucking-amazing-dot-com! I don't say that lightly. It takes A LOT to impress me, especially in the MC Romance genre, but I am hooked, addicted, a slave for those RSMC bikers and their old ladies. Poppy is a great addition to the gang, in that she knows nothing about the biker lifestyle, she's actually scared of them and I loved the first few interactions the most. Even though she was scared, it didn't stop her standing up for her man. Boy, was I cheering like mad in my head. I love a ballsy ball busting heroine, but there's something so lovely about a girl sheltered from the world, made to act and talk like a socialite drone per her parents orders, and then see her blossoming under her own strength, tenacity to live her own life and to win the love of the man she's always wanted!
Basically, I'm team Poppy. And I'm even more team Poppy because she made our tie wearing biker so so so happy. she made him smile, she gave him delicious candy...... and she fucked his brains out. Honesly, Theia writes the hottest shit in the land. If you're not a wheezing wreck after one of her hot sexy scenes, then you must be from the planet Mars where I hear they don't sex up there, just rub their ears together to make babies. Some of the filth out of Texas mouth made me blush and I do not blush easily or at all!
If you know this series, then you know the author drops nuggets of goodness for the other bikers inbetween the romance. These are BRILLIANT. What's happening with Tag... is that really his heroine???? Capone...man, I'm glad he wised up cause I wanted to punch his gorgeous goatee off. WILL HE GO TO MIAMI? The Butcher, holy fuck and excuse my french but I will beg on my knees for his and Roux's book next. He's in love with a rival MC princess. That has forbidden deliciousness written all over the pages and I'm salivating for it. Please, book gods. Fucking hell, Rider! God. I can't even. If you know you know. But fuck and YAY! can we just give Rider Fucking Marinos all the props he deserves! Prez in a million. That insight to the future generation has me terrified, excited, scared, deliriously happy. All you need to know is the author is a bloody genius.
the sightings of the manhattan crew had me so happy. Love when she does that.
LAWLESS OMFG. This man has held my interest from book one. Lawless gives a lot but doesn't give a lot at the same time. I am SO full of questions right now.
Texas baby, you did it. You made it right and I am SO HAPPY to see him back.
Texas and Poppy. I honestly do not know how V. Theia does it. I Really don’t! This world of bikers gets better and better with each addition and of course Texas did NOT disappoint. Read this bad boy and you will not be upset you did.
Texas wasn’t my favorite character in this series, but I loved him from the beginning to end in this read. (If you’re up to date in the series prior to reading this review you may have an inkling on why exactly I wasn’t too keen on Texas). Of course I ended up loving his story with his Poppy. Sweet, caring, rough man with a heart of gold and a tie to match! YES! This man can dress but has the mouth to fix one of the roughest alphas you can come across. Absolutely no improvement needed! Poppy was a wonderful heroin for our beloved Texas, a runaway bride with the pedigree of a thoroughbred she was quite an equal for him. A spunky delight and completely out of the norm for her to find herself chasing after a bad a**biker ;). She’s great and I’m slightly envious.
The world of the Renegade Souls is GROWING and I do not tire of any character, in fact V. Theia does an amazing job of planting small drops of information on each person and where they could possibly be going in their story. I prefer to keep my review spoiler free, so I will just leave my comment there, but I will hint that my mind is BLOWN with 5 years.
Do you need to read the others, YES! WHY WOULDN’T YOU! But is it required, not exactly. Texas and Poppy are a great read if you’re wanting to just read this book in particular. But I warn you, you will miss out on so many great reads that came before. I can’t wait for the next installment!! Happy Reading!
It takes a strong woman to heal a damaged man. Poppy was like a breath of fresh air. She literally came running in with no forethought, crashed into our guilt ridden biker man and would not take no for an answer. I loved this melodramatic, sweet, kind and funny woman. She was full of heart and soul and made Texas whole. Oh my God, I just made a rhyme! Let see if I can do it through this review.
Texas was the man Running away without a plan Poppy dropped into his lap Due to the fact she had no map A payout was had Our big biker man was not mad She sassed, she stroked and let love heal She gave Texas candy for each meal Crazy things occurred Lines between right and wrong were blurred The Souls once again rallied And this amazing book was right up my alley.
Ok I think it's clear that I should leave the writing to this amazing author, who creates a biker world that we can all get lost inside. Once again she took the broken and pieced them back together with all the drama, intrigue, bread crumb trails, wit, humor and let's not forget the heat! I hear it's hot as heck in Texas, on Texas and under Texas..... I highly recommend this book!
Texas and Poppy's story drew me in. Texas thinks he's unlovable because of the choices he made in the past. He wasn't loyal to his MC and he has allowed his brother to control some of his decisions. Poppy has loved Texas since they were teens, but she never thought she'd have a real chance at a real relationship with him. When Texas saves Poppy and is forced to spend time with her they both discover feelings so real. Through in some MC bikers, an evil Russian, a wimpy ex-fiance, some meddling parents, a cat and a goat and this book is just AMAZING.
Ms. Theia's Renegade series just gets better and better and I can't wait to see where she goes next.
Words cannot describe how good this book is. I loved every second of it. The twist with a certain biker had my jaw drop and I will admit I cried. The event that finally happened made me scream. Patiently waiting for the next one as always. This series only gets better and better. I admit I have always had a soft spot for Texas and it would take a lot of woman to be good enough for him but here poppy was more than a match for him and anyone who got in her way. As previously said this book is worth every second.
This book is amazing!! It was the perfect way to bring Texas home! And his girl omg!! She is exactly what he needed! They are everything that you would expect but also so much more! There is craziness that wasn’t expected, there is laughter, and there is so much love that is the best thing for both of the characters, they have been through so much and it is beautiful to see them together and the love they have for each other!
Yes that about sums it up with these two. They were up, they were down and they had us cheering like redeemed sinners at Sunday service. Who doesn’t love a bad boy forgiven? I don’t want to give a lot away but let me just say.. Lawless. I need that explained like yesterday. What’s he trying to do us?
Also, Capone. I’m claiming that boy right now. V Theia has climbed her way into my soul of favorite writers and pushed a few people right out. 5 stars
Texas is the man. A tie wearing biker yummy. But he also has that heart of gold. That is proven when he saves Poppy. She was running to Texas but didn't realize how much she really needed him. And she defends him so hard. Shows me that she was perfect for Texas. We all need a Texas in our lives. Do not miss this Renegade Souls members book.
I really liked Texas' story! Some moments had me like WTF?! and then others I was laughing! Poppy came off a little too little girlish for me at times but I loved all of Texas!
As a major lover of this MC Series, each time a new book comes out, I think can it possibly be better than the last??? Well, Indecent Lies proves it can. The story of Texas and Poppy will enthrall you from beginning to end. If you have read the other stories in the series, then you will know about Texas, but I won’t spoil it here. When he is called to help someone, he never figured it would be Penelope aka Poppy, a young woman he knew from his past. Poppy has always had an unrequited crush on Texas, so when he steps in to help her, she is absolutely done for! Poppy’s character is a complete breath of fresh air in this series. She may be young, but she knows what she wants in life, and that’s Texas! She is fierce, a bit of a spitfire, naïve, dedicated and has a great sense of humor! I found her completely endearing and she has snuggled her way into my heart. Now, as for Texas, who doesn’t love a rough and rugged man who loves to wear pressed shirts and ties! But for a while, he is a different man, until Poppy “pops” into his life with all her beauty and kindness. These two characters take you on a wild ride that makes you fall in love with both so hard. And as always, this author, sprinkles things to come and things of the past that makes you never want her stories to end. I am in complete and utter awe of how this author writes in such a way, that you get so invested in her story, in her characters, that they will forever be in your heart and soul. This is absolutely my favorite MC series and I highly recommend that you read each one. You will love them as much as I do!
Indecently Delicious!!!! It was such a treat to see the immaculately turned out and controlled Texas in a different light. I absolutely loved the banter between Poppy and him and she was a breath of fresh air so impulsive and fiercely loyal. There were moments in the book I was laughing out loud imagining her. The scene with Zara was brilliant and I liked Poppy was so much I was surprisingly in her corner. She had no artifices and wore her heart on the sleeves. The introduction of another heroine was awesome to read as well and I hope we get to more of Roux the rocker biker princess as well. I can’t wait to read the next ones as so much has been laid out in this book for future heart-stopping glory. The MC world is been layered so well and is a testament to V Theia’s brilliant mind. She really is the best kind of fish😍😍😍. The romance between Texas and Poppy will have you sighing and the heat will have you fanning yourself. It’s so good to have Texas back and redeemed and whether you have read all the MC books or this is your first one - it’s a great way to step into the world of intrigue, action and breath taking romance.... now we just wait for Lawless with a bittersweet anticipation😱
This book is everything! I've waited so long for our Texas and V. Theia sure did deliver him. Poppy is a strong heroine who comes into her own as the story progresses. It was exciting watching her grow and become more confident in who she is. V. Theia knocked this one out of the park.
After reading Reaper I just dreaded getting into Texas because I didn’t think he could compare . Even as I read the beginning with Poppy and her diamond purse in a wedding gown I rolled my eyes and thought V has lost her mind . I still think V has lost her mind but that has nothing to do with Poppy . That’s more about Lawless but we will address that later . That’s a big bone I have to pick with her . Ughhhh okay so back to Texas. He’s disgraced and banned from the MC because he betrayed his brothers . I thought there was no way I could like this guy but he totally redeemed himself and I fell hard for him . The way he loved Poppy and hey he’s a goat dad . Who can not love a goat dad ? This book was amazing ! I can’t love the Renegade Souls more than I do now. They are men with a moral compass but they don’t always follow the law . They treat their women like queens and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book !
I don't often like the main female characters in books. They are either too bold and sassy and always seem to have a traumatic upbringing to grab the reader's sympathy. Penelope is just right. Brought up as a socialite, never to have to lift a finger to work for a living, only meant to find a rich husband. Yet she finds life superficial and runs to the one man she has always loved, the man who knows her during childhood but doesn't particularly notice her, Tait...or Texas as he was known in the MC Renegade Souls.
Texas has been stripped of his membership and is out on his own when Penelope turns up. How they manage in their relationship, while other factors are thrown in, make for an entertaining read. This author really knows how to create complex characters. You just can't help liking them despite some of their notorious deeds.
I didn’t like Poppy at the beginning as she seemed to just take it for granted that Tate/Texas would take her in despite not being in contact for years. They actually didn’t have much of a relationship when they were traveling in the same social circles. Just rude. Wearing her wedding dress while traveling cross country - I don’t think so. (Although now that I think about it I thought Sally Field was cute in her wedding gown when she was picked up by Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit)
Anyway, she’s had a crush on Tate for years and he finally comes around to her way of thinking and they become a couple. Texas helps save the day in a confrontation between the Renegade Souls and Russians. His brother’s bitchy wife gets shown the door (although if Tate supposedly always rejects her overtures, why does she keep coming back?)
2.5 stars. I liked the first part of this book but felt like it was once again, too long. A lot of repetitive thoughts and not a lot of dialogue. Also, I felt like the author rewrote Texas’s history a bit. In previous books he seemed WAY more into his brother’s wife Addison than is depicted in this book. I went back and read his chapter in Luxe’s book, when he has a very detailed erotic dream about Addison and it’s within the last year or so. He even chastises himself for being in love with his brother’s wife. Now in this book he suddenly sees her as the bitch she is? Not buying it and don’t appreciate revisionist history by author to make us believe he’s into Poppy. Also, it felt forced and weird that he’s calling her “little girl” all the time when he’s 30 and she’s like 26?
Oh Texas, poor sad and guilt stricken Texas. He’s so lost without his MC brothers and how he feels he’s betrayed them is eating at him. It’s been a year since he’s been kicked out of the club and he’s traveling all over. Penelope/Poppy runs away from her $200k wedding in NYC and lands herself at a different MC’s clubhouse where she asks for Texas. Hilarity, romance, hot sex, and drama ensued. I loved seeing my favorite characters and there’s tons of surprises in this book. Zara comes off a bit b!tchy and I didn’t really enjoy her scene in the bakery. A lot happens and changes, and the book is just awesome.
