They call him the Cupid of New York. Even though he doesn’t believe in love.
Xander is a matchmaker for the social elite. For a quarter million dollars, he’ll find your soulmate and guarantee that you’ll live happily ever after.
He’s damn good, too—because he’s actually Eros, the Greek God of Love.
After thousands of years of doing the same job, he’s come to New York to be inspired again. His only companion is his personal assistant, Charlotte Galloway, a single mother who keeps him in line. She wants nothing to do with his lavish, playboy lifestyle, and he’s not interested in ruining their working relationship.
But when someone tries to destroy everything he’s worked for, he offers to pay Charlotte to be his fake fiancée to fix his public image.
To his surprise, she accepts.
To her surprise, he’s not the scoundrel he pretends to be.
But it won’t go any further. After all, this Greek god and mortal woman don’t believe in love…right?
Playboy of the Gods is the third book in The Elysium Legacies. It was originally published as The Playboy God, and while names and some scenes have been changed, it remains the same book.

Small synopsis- but no major spoilers if you read on.
Loved this book! In it the Olympus God Eros, now going by the human name Damien Eros, is the Matchmaking God of Manhattan. Also known as Cupid, all he needs to do is work his magic and boom- instant love- the kind he can charge a quarter of a million dollars for to the city’s elite and have a money back guarantee. The problem is, our God of love is a bit cynical and does not believe in love for himself. For himself he is a playboy God, hooking up with meaningless socialites and having his personal assistant give them the boot the next day.
His personal assistant, Maxine (goes by Max) Galloway, is a tough as nails super woman who happens to be a single mom and the worlds greatest assistant, according to Damien.
Damien’s negative lease on Love must be affecting his work because the book starts out with a disgruntled customer demanding her money back after her marriage (setup by Eros matchmaking service) fails. Problem is, this has never happened before and Eros is stunned. It’s been over the year that is given for the money back guarantee and this disgruntled customer vows to destroy Damien’s business. Add in negative press from a few of his one night stands and he finds himself and his company in a media nightmare.
Next, in an effort to combat the negative publicity his company is receiving , his PR guy suggests that Damien and Max show the world that they are engaged to be married and that Damien has put a stop to his playboy ways. Of course to Damien’s shock, Max agrees to the ruse for a quarter of a millions dollars.
That’s enough to get you setup for the story- and believe me, it only gets better from there! I don’t want to spoil any of the plots twists and turns, but you will absolutely love this book when you read it! I was hooked from chapter one and the book kept me in its grip until the last page! Erin Hayes has done it again!!
Love this read with the feisty assistant who isn't afraid to speak up and the man whore of a boss who is sleeping with anything and ruining his already soiled rep. Loads of fun and shenanigans make this an enjoyable read by this author. Her characters keep you laughing and panting and rolling right along with the story. Great read. It's always fun watching the gods of Olympus have their day.
The Playboy God is a personal assistant/ boss romance where the boss just happens to be a God. Eros the God of love is living as a mortal and running a successful matchmaking service. A long string of lovers is the only form of love the god allows in his personal life. Cupid is tired of love and people hurting each other. The only bright spot in his life is his faithful, wisecracking personal assistant, Max, that keeps him on his toes and refuses to get him coffee. When someone sets out to destroy his business, a fake engagement to Max seems the only way to save his image. Real feelings emerge from a fake relationship as Max and Eros struggle as the past comes back to haunt them both. The characters brought smiles and happiness as I was swept along on their way to a HEA. A nice romance with hints of humor and fun that lifts your mood and leaves you with a goofy grin on your face. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy.
Damien Eros is a matchmaker for the elite and is damn good at it - he should be - he really is Eros the Greek God of Love. His trusty PA Maxine Galloway is a single mother and she keeps him in line. However when someone tries to destroy his reputation and business he pays her to be his fake fiancee to fix his public image. Surprisingly she accepts, and then she is surprised when he isn't the bad boy he appeared to be. It can't go any further - neither believes in love so it's just never going to happen - or is it?
This is a lovely light read that was a charming take on the boss/employee fake engagement theme. The characters were very vibrant and alive, I could empathise with them and their situation, plus I ended up rooting for Damien hoping that he would get a HEA. It was well written and really enjoyable.
I'm a smitten kitten for anything contected to Greek mythology. Add to that an author who never disappoints and I was practically an unsupervised kid in a candy store when I found out about this book.
At it's core you could say it's a falling for your boss romance, but this is so much better. The hero is Eros the God of Love living the mortal life as Damien, the upper elite's matchmaker. While Max is his take charge personal assistant.
These two will capture your hearts. No arrow of love needed!
This book was so good! I couldn't get enough of Eros and Max (Maxine). I've read many books that follow the boss/employee trope, but nothing like this. It's got it's moments, both funny and serious. Definitely a must read.
*I had the privilege of reading an arc of this book. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Eros is the God of Love. Max is his personal assistant. He runs a matchmaking business. One thing leads to another and affects the business. Well worth reading. Twists and turns makes this story interesting.
Erin has a way of pulling you in and holding you hostage - with some laugh out loud comedy a good twist and romance. This is not your typical boss/assistant story - it’s imaginative and and quirky. You can’t go wrong with this book, grab a drink and get cozy Eros is going to take you for a ride.
I loved reading about Max and Eros. The way she would put him in his place and make no apologies about her personality really sold this book for me. I even loved the bits of drama added in for extra effect. This book kept me smiling while I was reading it.
Fast read with a lot of funny moments and dialogies. Damien was a Little irritating (but he had to be) and Max - so strong That I wanted to shout: go goo!
