And the one NHL player I have spent way too much time fantasizing about…
After years of picturing my favorite hockey player naked, guess who shows up in my office and in need of my help? Duke is suspended for twenty games for fighting. And the team owner has given me two months to whip his broody butt into shape, or he’s trading Duke to another team.
I can’t let that happen. Not when I can help Duke work through his anger issues.
Except there’s one problem….
As we grow closer, Duke thinks I’m the cure for thawing the ice around his heart.

Jillian Quinn scores with Prince Pucking Charming. In this story, Washington Capitals captain, Duke Baldwin, needs to attend anger management therapy after pummeling Philadelphia Flyers rookie Dean Crawford on the ice for getting his sister pregnant. He sees Dr. Delilah Devine. Her and her daughter, Max, might just be what he needs to heal. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Prince Pucking Charming is a fantastic story. There are interesting ethical issues. There are league politics with Duke’s father having also been in the NHL. Duke went through a lot growing up it is understandable why he has anger issues. I love that Delilah and Max help him heal. They are a great couple making each other stronger. I appreciated that Max reminds Duke of Kat. Duke loves his sister and would do anything for the people he loves.
Prince Pucking Charming was skillfully written. It is a heartwarming and entertaining novel. I want to read Dean (Face-Off Series # 6) after reading this book. In that story, Dean gets his best friend, Kat (Duke’s sister), pregnant. The two books overlap. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
You can see how unethical it is to have relationship with your therapist. He starts to ask "get to know you" questions like he's dating her....so two stars off for author making her a lousy therapist. He still three his phone!!
It's fiction but it's not "fun" so it's a bit more serious. I had wished he had actually gotten some coping tools (or had actual therapy that wasn't sex) because he still had problem.
What did play real was the senator getting her job back. That is how Washington works.
This is my first time reading anything from this author, and I really enjoyed reading this book, It was entertaining, and kept me engaged the whole way through. This is the story of Duke, and Lila, they meet when Duke is sent to therapy, to control his anger. This was a great read, steamy, emotional, sweet, fun, and romantic. This was well written, and the characters had hot chemistry, I would definitely recommend this book.
Duke is a hockey player who can’t keep his temper under control and gets suspended because of it. Now he either has to get help or he is off the team. His feelings about therapy change when he meets Dr. Lila Devine. Fast-paced read with plenty of steam and emotion. I really liked the characters and the story really draws you in. A good read.
Excellent book! I was dying to read this after I read about Duke in Deans book . He’s so dark and moody , disturbing in a way but his troubles are made by his upbringing and the stress he’s been under , Lila is everything he needs and Max is so sweet. He has a readymade family to settle him . This is a great book and as always with Jillian’s books . I loved it .
Duke and Lila grabbed my heart and squeezed Intense emotional broken heart stopping Beautifully written Love this series Grabbed my heart Ready for more Who's next
The cover for the version I read is beautiful, though I'm not sure how it relates to the story.
Before I get into it, I'm going to give the author props for going outside of the norm. Most of the romance books I've read in this vein tend to aim more towards delayed gratification.
That being said, this book read like a fan-fiction/fantasy/adult movie script when the MCs had their sessions. He's hardly in the door and the fem protag is looking him over in a very non-professional way. On top of that, she's a terrible therapist.
Fem protag: What was your childhood like, hot stuff? Tell me about your family.
Male protag: Blah blah, family drama and childhood trauma, blah.
Fem protag: AHA! Your anger issues stem from lingering anger at your father for abandoning you and your siblings! Case solved. Let's bang.
Me: Esqueeze me Ms. Doctor therapist lady, do you have any ideas for how he should deal with this latent anger or cope when he feels like beating another guy's face in or throwing something?
Fem protag: Uh, I don't know. Wait, yoga, lots and lots of naked yoga, with me. And by "yoga", I mean sex. We should really get on that, we've still got twenty minutes in our session after all. Excuse us!
I didn't like any of the main characters. I hated the fem protag, she had this stupid "No, hot male protag, don't ravish me, it's unethical! Oh yes, ignore me and keep up your ravishing, but no really stop this is unethical, keep going," thing. She also told her daughter and the male protag the very legit reasons why she "wouldn't" have a relationship with the male protag, then proceeded to lie about doing exactly what she told her daughter she wouldn't ever do. I'm sorry, Maxie, the power of the D is just too strong for your mother to remember your trust in her and in men in general is at risk. You know, priorities.
The male protag was an asshole in the beginning and excessively selfish (beating down the potential love of his sisters life, father of her unborn kid, and possible future member of his fudging family without concern for how it would affect his team, his family, or his fans, especially the young ones, is a prime example) so I didn't like him off the bat. By the end, he was still selfish (he was definitely the bigger instigator of the relationship with the fem protag without regard for her career or his team).
I'm not a total monster, the moments the three of them spent together were cute.
But all in all, it's not the fantasy of an "unethical" relationship (between two consenting adults) that makes a book like this good, it's the relationship those characters build that makes a relationship like that worn the risk. This relationship was not worth the risk, and still, frustratingly, no one really got punished for it, so all that llama drama about ethics was total fluff and they could have been boning in front of her daughter and all of America from the get-go.

Pucking Charming Jillian Quinn Duke Baldwin is so pucking charming…
He's hockey royalty. The hottest player in the NHL. And after a fight gone wrong, Duke is my new patient.
I've never wanted to cross the line with a patient before.
But as we grow closer, Duke breaks down my walls. He's not the rough defenseman I once thought he was but a fierce protector and a man who knows what he wants.
The only problem? It's not just my heart that's on the line.
My daughter is also falling in love with the man who teaches her to play hockey. But with my past history, I’m hesitant to go all-in and allow myself to feel something real again.
Because there's one question that keeps me up at night…
Will Duke stay after our sessions are over? Stephannie's 5 star Review: Duke Baldwin is a star hockey player who took an outside problem and decided to handle it on the ice. Punching a opponent ended in him getting a suspension. He now has to clean up or his act or he is gone. He has to attend some therapy from Dr. Lisa Devine. Duke has demons that he needs to deal with and the first step is agreeing to work on them. Dr. Lisa Devine enters the picture to help him deal with his troubles so he can get back on the ice. Duke is drawn to her presence in a positive way. There is a attraction between these two. For the first time ever Duke wants more from a women. Them being together is forbidden but try as they might it doesn't stop them from crossing that line. But crossing that line if caught could be damaging to Dr. Devine career and it might cause issues for Duke to return to the ice.
I really loved this story and the characters and their connection. I felt Duke's draw to Lisa and really felt conflicted because starting something isn't something a doctor should do with her patient. I was conflicted about their actions but I still wanted them to be together. I love these two together. Its a great story and I enjoyed it.
Prince Puck Charming is a standalone hockey romance that is interconnected with the Face-Off series and is told from the first-person point of view.
Duke has anger issues and when his anger finally gets the better of him he is forced by his hockey team to seek anger management or find employment elsewhere. Duke does not want to go to therapy but when he sees his therapist he starts to rethink things. Still not wanting to share his secrets, Delilah's daughter, Max, reminds him of his sister and growing up which allows him to open up and start sharing his secrets and more with Delilah. Delilah has her own secrets and also has a strict rule of not crossing the line with her patients until her celebrity crush walks into her office and threatens to upend her whole life.
Prince Puck Charming was a great read and the characters were so fun to get to know. I loved the way Duke and Delilah's relationship grew and absolutely loved Delilah's daughter Max, she was so cute and funny and a big player in the novel. Prince Puck Charming is the first novel that I read by Jillian Quinn and I will be reading more by her.
I was provided with an arc of Prince Puck Charming in exchange for my honest review
Duke Baldwin is like a ticking time bomb, and when you're a hockey player that could be considered a downfall... especially when you let it lead you to punching out an opponent and getting suspended because of it! His little incident has earned him the attention of the team owner and also an ultimatum, clean up his act or he is gone!
Which lands him on the doorstep of Dr. Lila Devine... and a little closer to a happily ever after than he ever thought he'd be!
Between the pages of Prince Pucking Charming you will meet a man struggling with his demons, and the woman who has come into his life for the purpose of helping deal with them, but quickly finds that her presence also awakens his heart too! Watching these two tip-toe near the forbidden line while trying to maintain their professional relationship was quite entertaining. They tried hard to keep things innocent, but their attraction to one another kept luring them closer to that line, and closer to having everything they never knew they wanted. I loved what I found here, the words were addictive and heartfelt, and the characters completely stole my heart upon first meeting. This is definitely one of my favorites from Ms. Quinn to date, it was perfectly penned and so good on the heart! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
This was the first book by Jillian Quinn that I've read and I was delighted. Prince Puking Charming was beautifully written, emotional and heartwarming. I enjoyed the authors writing style, it was clear and the storyline was easy to follow.
Duke is a professional hockey player, struggling with a lot of issues. He has a bad temper that gets him in a lot of trouble. Throwing punches during a game was not his finest moment and if he wants to keep playing he must clean up his act. So he ends up going to anger management therapy with Lila Devine, the team doctor. Their relationship starts off as a professional but there is strong chemistry between them from the first time they meet. Catching feelings for a patient isn't something Lila expected but she gets to know Duke a little bit more with each session and suddenly an innocent crush transforms into something more, even if she knows better than to cross that line.
The story was fairly paced, I loved the banter between the protagonists and the way they challenged each other constantly. Both were relatable characters and also Lila's daughter was so sweet, she stole my heart. The plot was a bit predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless and I'm looking forward to reading other books by Jillian Quinn.
This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect. This book is a sports romance and was a okay read.
Duke is a sexy, hot alpha male and he's a hockey player hes the captain of the team and he also finds it hard to control his bad temper sometimes. Duke is extremely protective of the people around him who he loves especially his sister. Duke gets sent to anger management as a way to control his temper flares.
Lila she's a doctor Dr divine she's a psychologist and she works with sports athletes and she also had a 10 year old daughter, her ex husband and he can sometimes be very difficult. Duke and Lila start working together and the chemistry between them is sizzling, its very hot. This is the kind of forbidden romance because he is her patient.
This book was a good fast read but it was on the tad predictable side. These characters do have explosive sexual chemistry maybe its the forbidden love forming. I think that this author writes the characters awesomely. This book is told from separate points of view which I always like.
Thank You to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released on 19TH February 2020.
Prince Pucking Charming is a standalone hockey romance from hockey romance queen Jillian Quinn, but is a spin-off of the Face-Off series. Duke's little sister is Kat from Dean, and we see the bloody ice fight from Duke's POV in Prince Pucking Charming. (Also, Alex Parker is referenced several times as a former teammate, so it's in the same timeline.)
I'm torn about how I wanted to rate Prince Pucking Charming, though. I knew that there was going to be an about-face from Duke, where he went from wanting to bang the hot anger-management therapist to really falling for single mom Lilah the person. And that turning point came with no warning, no lead-up and seemingly out of left field. I didn't FEEL it.
I loved everything that came after Duke realizing that Lila challenged him, made him work for her attention, just like his late mother told him the woman worth loving would make him want to do. But him getting to that point felt kind of anticlimactic to me. That said, Duke really stands up for Lila and her daughter, Max, in ways that Lila's ex does not. Over and over again, Duke proves that he's in it for the long haul, and there's a nice growth in his character from the angry jerk we meet in the start of the book to the guy at the end of the story who is totally besotted with his girlfriend and her daughter.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Prince Pucking Charming—He’s Charming with Attitude
Duke Baldwin and Lila Devine are featured in this book. Lila is a psychologist hired by an NHL team to work through anger management issues with troubled hockey star Duke. Right away in the book readers begin vacillating between being frustrated with the arrogant Duke who excels on the ice and with putting up an icy wall between his heart and anyone who isn’t family. Lila has the patience of Job when in counseling sessions with Duke and immediately fights the alpha bad boy temptations she sees in Duke. She can’t get involved with a patient.
Lila’s 10-year-old hockey-loving daughter Max provides many moments of delight as Duke and Lila support her while wrestling with their own romance.
Author Jillian Quinn develops as an author with each of her books. Duke was a minor character in the novel featuring his sister, Kat, in the book DEAN: FACE-OFF SERIES, BOOK 6). It seems like Duke’s character just began talking in Quinn’s head and here is his story. What a story he had to share.
If you like a bit of angst, a dose of heart-wrenching memories, and a joyful happily ever after, this book is a good place to start. I hope we get to see Duke and Lila again, as Quinn adds to this series.
Prince Pucking Charming was a fantastic read that I couldn't get enough of, which isn't surprising since I absolutely LOVE Jillian Quinn's writing style. Duke Baldwin is the captain on the Washington Capitals pro hockey team, plus being the hottest player in the league. There's just one issue with Duke, he has a temper problem, and after the latest fight, he has to get anger management therapy to play again. This is when he meets Dr. Delilah Devine, and it's the best thing to ever happen to him. Between her and her daughter Max, they're actually just what the doctor orders. They bring some healing to the table for him, and there's romance about to come into play. Of course, with her being a his Dr. there are also some ethical issues at play as well, which Ms. Quinn does perfectly on top of keeping me enthralled. Not to mention there are league politics, and Duke is hockey royalty with his dad's career before his, making some deep issues as a kid which were never addressed. And I definitely CANNOT WAIT for more of the back story leading up to the fight with Dean's (the one Duke beat up) story being up next! Now, how do Dude & Delilah get through all the hoops?! Hit that one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is a spin off of the Face-Off series centering around the Baldwin Hockey family. We met Duke Baldwin in “Dean” when he decides to beat up his sister’s BFF and baby daddy Dean on the ice. He ends up in with a 20 game suspension, and must attend Anger Management with the team Dr if he doesn’t want to be traded. Of course, the psychologist is the hot Dr. Delilah Devine. Thus begins the forbidden Dr/Hockey player patient romance. I really enjoyed the development of Duke’s character from a dangerous hothead to caring boyfriend and potential step-father. There were a few issues that kept this from being a five star review, mainly revolving around Delilah. Delilah continually states that she and Duke cannot cross the Dr/Patient line, but in the next breath is making out with him. Also, for someone with a PHD, she isn’t the brightest when she thinks she can go out with a famous hockey player and no one will notice. Overall, it was a fun quick read and I cannot wait for Austin’s story. I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
Duke Baldwin is a ticking time bomb and since he is a hockey player that could be considered a bad thing especially on the ice. Duke takes his anger out on a opponent who happens to be his sisters boyfriend. This little incident results him getting suspended, and gets the attention of the team owner who threatens to trade him if he doesn't clean up his act. His outburst lands him to a visit in Dr. Lila Devine office for his angry management. Lila is a single mother who happens to have a little crush on Duke Baldwin and she is surprised when he becomes her patient. Between the pages of this book we meet a man struggling with his demons, and this amazing women that continues to push him away. These two continue to do a little dance of who will crack first when it comes to there feelings for each other but Lila wants to what until he is no longer her patient. Will Duke be able to break down Lila's walls when it comes to having a relationship and can Duke be the man that Lila needs in her life.

This is a sport romance book. This is a spin off of the Face-Off series centering around the Baldwin Hockey family.
In this book we have Duke, who is the oldest sibling of the Baldwin Clan. He grew up under a hockey great, and has become a hockey great himself. However, he also has quite a temper to match! He's a hot head. He's been sent to a therapist for Anger Management. Will he be open to this?
The anger management therapist Duke has to see is, Dr Delilah 'Lila' Divine, she's a psychologist and she works with sports athletes. Lila has a 10 year old daughter, and an ex-husband, who can be very difficult.
Delilah continually states that she and Duke cannot cross the Dr/Patient line. But, they start making out in the next sentence. For someone with a PHD, she isn’t the brightest when she thinks she can go out with a famous hockey player and no one will notice. Duke is noticed everywhere he goes!
I did receive this ARC book free. I am freely leaving an honest review.
Duke is an Enforcer who lives up to his hockey position. When his anger gets the best of him one game he is suspended and his team has had enough. It’s anger therapy or get traded. He can’t leave his hockey family so therapy it is. He may have to go, but he doesn’t have to participate or does he?
Lila is a therapist and has always had a major crush on Duke.. Now he is a patient and she knows she can help him work through his issues. Duke starts flirting from day 1 but she must keep things professional. Doctor/patient lines begin to blur as Duke befriends Lila’s daughter Max. The closer they all get the more Lila thinks this may work if they can just make it through Duke’s suspension.
Duke never knew what he was missing until he meets Lila and Max. Now he knows what he wants but can he get it?
This is a great book that was hard to put down. Another well written book from Jillian Quinn.
Duke is a professional hockey player and captain of his team. He has always been known for having a short fuse but when he allows his protective instincts for those he loves lead to a bad decision on the ice he finds himself suspended with his career in jeopardy. He has been mandated to see a therapist but when he meets her, he wants much more from her than her professional services.
Lila has her hands full between her ex-husband, her ten year old daughter Max and her career. Seeing Duke in person has only make the secret attraction she feels for him that much stronger and knows that getting involved with him personally could damage her professional career, but will she be able to resist?
Duke and Lila are great characters with hot chemistry and her daughter Max is a scene stealer in a good way.
Duke has wide shoulders and man has he had a lot placed on him, after his mother's death and his father throwing himself into his hockey career Duke took over the father figure role. Now well into his own hockey career he's known for is aggressive playing but when he goes to far he's suspended and must take time for anger management. Therapy has never worked for him but then again he's never had a doctor that looked like this one. Delilah wants to keep this professional, she's good at what she does but digging into Duke's mind is harder than pulling teeth and it doesn't help that he is fine and a starring spank bank go to but how he is with her daughter, well sometimes crossing the line never felt better. Very good read!
Duke is known as the bad boy of hockey.. When his anger gets the best of him one game he is suspended and his team has had enough. The GM and owner tell him he either gets help or he gets traded.. Duke loves his team and doesn't want to be traded so he agrees to therapy
Lila is a therapist and has always had a major crush on Duke.. Now he is a patient and she vows to help him work through his issues. When Duke starts flirting with her can she keep things professional. Lila has a daughter, Max who just adores Duke. The closer they all get the more Lila thinks this may work, but how is the question..
Duke never knew what he was missing until he meets Lila and Max. Now he knows what he wants but can he get it?
Duke is a temperamental hockeyplayer who has to go to anger management where he gets to know his best remedy against anger and rage. But something threatens to take it all away. He is tough but also soft and very lovable. A real familyman and good friend.
Lila had a crush on duke even before they met but had a hard time trusting him and letting go of her fears.
The story is beautifully written, with a little bit of humor and a lot of love and fire and passion. You could really feel the pull between the characters and my heart followed the entire story in awe. Just lovely and i believe this isn't the end. I am hoping for a story about Duke's brother Austin in the future or some of his other siblings. (fingers crossed).
I have been extremely lucky to have been able to read every book Jillian has written. I love her writing style but more importantly I enjoy the stories she tells. Duke and Lila’s story was nothing short of outstanding. He is your typical alpha male who doesn’t really believe in love. Lila is a single mom who is extremely passionate about her career. When you read the reason why she chose this career it will break your heart a little. Then there is Max. What a wonderful character that ended up being such an integral part of the storyline. Now I don’t know what I am hoping for more - a series based on the Washington Capitols or the Baldwin family. Jillian - maybe both?? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Duke has a lot of anger built up but he uses it on the hockey rink until finding out a rookie knocked up his little sister and he goes a little too fast this time. He has two choices get traded or go to anger management. He can't be traded so he sucks it up and goes! What he didn't expect his new therapist Deliah or as he calls her Lila. He uses his looks and sex to get around talking about his feeling but something is different this time. And when he meets max Lila daughter it's all over for him. She makes he not be angry anymore. But Lila is a professional and can't get involved with Duke but there connection is too strong for either to ignore. I loved Max so very much and loved this book!
Truly another truly read from Jillian Quinn. What happens when Duke Baldwin, one of the hottest NHL players in the league gets suspended for his fiery temper and lands a 20-game suspension? He ends up in the office of therapist Delilah Devine, and that is where the sparks truly ignite. The chemistry between these two characters is intense, smoldering and sexy that simply burns up the pages. This is wonderful and fun page turner as you see so many sides and layers to these characters as they work through their feelings for each other and their own insecurities. A fabulously great read that is filled with amazingly fun characters, sassy dialogue, sizzling heat as they find their path to love and each other.
Not only would I say this book is a must read, but it was also a book that I could not put down. When I did put it down I was thinking about it and plotting when I could get back to reading.
This book is definitely a take of the biggest and toughest guy having the biggest and sweetest heart.
I was not a big fan of Duke in the previous book, but love how much he loved his sister. In this book, I think he became my favorite Jillian Quinn character. Not only is this a love story between a man and a woman, but a story of a man falling for a little girl. This is a bit of an opposites attract story on the surface, but these two very different people are not so different after all.
