Catwalk

Prada. Sfilate

Rate this book

This is an exceptional work that brilliantly explores the world of one of the most iconic luxury brands in fashion history✨ This collection definitely offers a sophisticated yet accessible exploration of the brand's evolution, philosophy, aaand cultural significance

Frankel, an experienced fashion journalist, masterfully dives into the intricacies of Prada’s rise from a small Milanese leather goods shop to a global fashion powerhouse; she immerses the reader in the brand's deeper artistic intentions and philosophies

One of the book's greatest strengths is its celebration of Miuccia Prada's visionary leadership - not only does it illuminate Prada's transformation under Miuccia’s guidance, but also provides a nuanced portrait of the designer herself. The way Frankel portrays Miuccia’s fashion ideology is compelling, showing how Prada’s designs have always been more than just garments - they are reflections of shifting societal norms, intellectual thought, and personal expression✨

The collection are portrayed in a way that is both cohesive and easy to follow; presented are the various phases of Prada’s evolution in a logical and engaging manner. Evolution of Prada’s collections, from the early days of minimalist elegance to the more daring, avant-garde statements that define the brand today are being marvellously explored and described. Each section is thoughtfully thought of

The inclusion of high-quality photography is another noteworthy feature of the book. Whether it’s a close-up of a runway look or an iconic campaign image, the photography feels like a natural extension of the text, further immersing the reader in the allure of Prada🧚🏻‍♀️

This runway collection explores the brand's profound impact on culture, art, and identity, offering a thoughtful reflection on how fashion can be a powerful tool for social commentary; whether you’re a fashion enthusiast, a student of design, or simply someone who appreciates art and culture, this book is a must-read🫶🏻

A wonderful fashion book with high-quality images that showcase Prada’s evolution. I absolutely love Prada’s design and how her feminism and minimalism always shine through. My favourite quote she uses to describe her autumn/winter 2018-2019 ready-to-wear show: ‘The whole point of my job is trying to understand how women can be powerful but also feminine, and be believed and stay respected when everyone assumes those things mean you don’t care about clothes.’

Thankful for my friend who got me this for my birthday ♥️ I always been drawn to Prada. Always thought it was beautiful especially 88- the early 2000s. This is my first of the Catwalk collection and I enjoyed it. I loved the descriptions of each collection and the details of it all. The best part for me was when someone tried to read or diss the brand Miuccia was always like “Yes! That’s EXACTLY what this is.”

V impressed. New to this Catwalk series; will try Vivienne Westwood next. If they ever make a Marc Jacobs edition I will be all over it. V beautiful, well made, readable short text for each collection beginning w Prada’s 1st runway show (AW 1988) to this publication’s most recent (SS 2019). Definitely one of my prized fashion/art/“coffeetable” books.

First of all, let me tell you those collections are a must have for any fashion addict.

Regarding Prada, everything is in the details. Belle et déroutante.

Nevertheless, it is true that sometime it's a bit too "ugly chic" for me. Like some people said : "Plutôt mourir que porter ça."

As for the models, elle sont tous des visages blancs, fermés respirant l'ennui ; très peu pour moi.

I just cannot wait when they make the one about McQueen, Givenchy and Fendi.

Bonsoir.
