When her Royal Siren’s family demands his loyalty, will he take the throne?
Layla’s Royal Siren lover Reginald has two masters – his stern Siren-clan in the North Sea, and the Red Letter Hotel Paris.
Born to rule but outcast since his youth, Reginald has dominated the Paris Hotel as Head Courtier for two hundred years.
But when his father the Siren King demands he become the next King – forsaking both Layla and the Paris Hotel – Reginald is torn between duty and love.
When Layla’s enemy Hunter infiltrates the clan, will Reginald acquiesce to his father’s will?
Or will he protect his mate – and become the man he’s destined to be?
This is the 6th book in this erotic dragon-shifter series which is for a mature audience and not for those who are prudish, but for readers who can appreciate sex scenes which are tastefully described in minute detail, set in the fae billionaire world, full of opulence, and decadence in a reverse harem setting, revolving around our sexy hot and very intelligent heroine. In this book we venture with Layla to her Royal Siren's home in the North Sea, where Reginald had gone to claim his place within his clan, she goes to try and persuade him to return with her to the Red Letter Hotel which needed his services there. Reginald will find himself torn between duty and love as political intrigue and dangerous enemies once more threaten their lives. Layla gets to meet Fury, his twin brother who is self exiled in the White Deeps and both Deep harbour and the Royal Sirenni Palace and the White Deeps are enchantingly described and brought to life for us, the readers, in all their magical oceanic splendour. Whilst the battle rages between Reginald and his tyrannical father, Hunter is back on the scene and as usual where he is, trouble and death follow. Another gripping read from start to finish with yet another lover bound to Layla but with a cliff hanger ending. I cannot wait to get book 7 in my hands as I just love this series.
I’ve been waiting for this book with baited breath, since the previous book was released. The books in this series are consistently read in the week of release because I love them so much. This book was not a disappointment and has left me in a similar state of longing for the next book.
In this book, Layla is at the hotel in Paris without her bound dragons. Her Royal Storm dragon is acting as Regent in his mother’s court and Adrian and Dusk are dealing with the fallout from the death of the Crystal King. Reginald is still in his father’s court trying to prove his worth. So Layla is left trying to manage the Paris Hotel and the budget is showing the effects of the Head Courtier, Reginald’s, loss. When Adrian asks Layla to go to North Harbour, Reginald’s home, to see a contact who might have developed technology to find Hunter, she is persuaded to go, not least because she misses him.
This trip challenges Layla deeply and her magic and her mind are attacked multiple times. She has to fight free of her darkness and learn to rely on her bound dragons. More of Hunter’s machinations are revealed, that were started centuries before Layla’s birth. His vision of the future has so many people twisted and battered from his plots and plans.
This book is dark and magical, with the beauty of the Twilight Realm described in all it’s glittering glory. The plot is all encompassing and my mind was wrapped in the world that Layla was plunged into, with very little thought of my escape. I was a willing captive and didn’t stop until the last page was read. There was so much ground covered in this book and we were left with a mighty cliff hanger. Even though it was a good point to stop the book, it has left me itching for the next book.
Ava Ward, I love this world and can’t wait to see what you create for Layla next
Totally awesome, I was on the edge of my seat with the excitement. Non stop action. Lots of cold showers needed though, the books just keep getting hotter and hotter. The story has moved to theNorth Sea where Reginald and his family are sorting out all sorts of issues. So grab yourself a copy and curl up in your favourite reading spot with your favourite beverage and enjoy. Highly recommended.
Long-awaited book about our moody and magnificent Siren and his family
Ava Ward's mystical, sensual, decadent series has stolen my heart. The world-building is superb, the places and settings so well-described I could draw you an accurate map. All five senses are engaged when I read, everything jumping off the page when I close my eyes and I am suddenly in the lavish settings of the Red Letter Hotel Paris or Riad Rhakvir or Deep Harbor, rather than my decidedly humble home. Ava transports her reader to the wonderful world she has created and I, for one, never want to leave. The action this time takes place at Deep Harbor, the home of the Sea Siren Clan, Reginald's family. Reginald's father is another tyrant, like King Marcus Ambrose, but whilst he rules with an iron fist, it is his family that bears the brunt of it. Reginald's siblings are an interesting lot and I love seeing him with them, especially the one closest to him. The family relationships are compelling and secrets are revealed as the story progresses, shocking and thrilling and heartbreaking. I have missed Reginald so much since Book Three when we really got to know the man behind the powdered wig and love him for his haughty self. He seemed so self-possessed, closed off and condescending but with the aura of a bad boy just waiting to rebel and turn everything on its head. This book unleashes his inner rebel and *fans self* holy wow! And I also love the way he has completely opened up in this one and shown Layla his soft underbelly. Every time he calls her 'beloved', I melt a little. He really is a big softie for the woman he loves. His tenderness and vulnerability are things that I never imagined we would see from him until now. He is just dominant and delicious. Whereas Reginald is outwardly as hard as pure gold but inwardly spun into the softest silk, Rhennic is pure sunshine through and through and a joy to spend time with. He is incredible, so grounded, so loving, so compassionate, and he really is a summer's day incarnate. Wanting to court Layla before becoming intimate with her was delightful and so fitting for him. He is old-fashioned in a way that is incredibly sexy and alluring. His heart is so big and he completely swept me off my feet. He is literally a force of nature, able to control the weather, but in fact he is the calm at the heart of the storm. Steadfast, grounded and loving, he is everything that Layla and the Bind needs to keep them stable and whole. His influence on the Bind was made so clear this time. I thought Dusk was the stable one of the men but it is actually Rhennic who is the bedrock they all stand on. Of all five of them, Rhennic is the only one who is not actually broken down by life and circumstances. Seeing Layla with Rhennic and Reginald was a joy and their dynamic was unexpected and wonderful and oh so hot. They just sizzled together. so much so that I didn't miss Adrian and Dusk too much. This is definitely my favourite book in the series so far. Ava Ward has captured my heart and I never want this series to end
This book was given to me by the author in exchange for a honest review.
This review can contain some spoilers.
Finally, after almost 3 book we got Reginald back. And like always Ava killed us with this book.
Layla is trying to adapt herself with the owner duties, since Adrian and Dusk are still away in Egypt dealing with the aftermath of the events of book #5 but with Beltane coming up, Quinn wants to bring Reginald back to the Hotel to be the Head Courtesan once again. So Layla goes to Deep Harbor, the home of the Sirens to visit and try to bring him back with her. But nothing goes smoothly in Layla’s life and in this book this couldn’t be different. We got a new beau for the bind, a big (like, BIG) revelation about Reginald’s lineage and finally some sexy time between Layla and Reginald (and Rhennic to boot!). In the end, Layla will have more challenges to prove that the bind between her and her mates is strong enough to beat Hunter once and for all.
Mrs Ward once more made a amazing book that is impossible to put don until the end. We have the right doses of sexy, drama and mystery to make a really compelling story. We got a new plot twist in the end that makes everyone nervous and very anxious to read the next book in the series. Get the first book, that is available in KU, and start reading!
They just keep getting better! I keep saying this with every book but this IS my favorite so far. I don't even know where to begin. The luscious rich descriptions of the Siren King's palace is stunning with pearls, abalone, star fish, and sea shells, everywhere you look and mother of pearl walls with waterfall doorways all in colors of the ocean, every hue of violet, blue and green. For me the creativity in Ms. Ward's latest novel "Sea Dragons Destiny" just went into overdrive, with a 'dangerous character' of interest and hidden truths come out. Reginald and his family are at the palace to meet Layla and what an interesting family, plus Rhennic just happens to shows up and is a longtime Siren family friend, who knew. Such intensity, such tragedy, Layla comes to a huge turning point in her life. This is so good and so much happened that I am re-reading this right now, I couldn't get enough!
We finally get something on Hunter in this book. A direct attack by Layla though we're not certain how much damage it caused since he disappeared right after. Plus, we get a way to track him which still seriously cut down on his surprise pop ups all of the time though I knew who he was as soon as he danced with Layla. It's a wonder what Hunter's end game is, especially since it appears to be changing the more he interacts with Layla. I wasn't surprised to find that Hunter had been behind Layla's binds with Dusk, Adrian, Reginald, Rhennic, and Fury at all, only wondering how many more binds there were to make. And boy does she make a doozy of a bind, which is with Reginald's twin brother Fury whom we meet for the first time in this book as Layla travels to the North Siren territories to visit with Reginald. I expected something to go awry but nothing so eye raising at what transpired. Leviathan, the Siren King is dead and neither Reginald nor Fury now lead, but their sister Lani does who we also meet for the first time. Too, Reginald's and Fury's father is Hunter which was the major revelation I think in the book. Although Fury's siren forces Layla to bind to him and it was kind of odd with him being Reginald's brother, I couldn't help but love Fury and felt so bad for Fury in his isolation. The man and the siren both. He's brought back from the brink of sanity by the bind and swims from his isolated island to be with Layla in person. That Hunter manipulates Fury into making Reginald kill his brother, Layla with her quick thinking is able to bring Fury back to life by using her magic and the pearl in which Fury's siren and magic were encased to put him back together. Right after though, Hunter throws a spear through Layla to separate her binds and so goes her dragon powers and she launches her final strike at Hunter.
More than anything, I'd like to know what's going on with Hunter and Layla. He seems to have a grand plan but whenever he spirits her away, something changes. We now know what his true face and form look like and it's no surprise that he's gorgeous because why not?
There's very little Dusk and Adrian in this book which I can appreciate since the last one was heavier with the three of them plus Layla. Rhennic finally gets some page time along with an intimate scene sharing Layla with Reginald. Turns out Reginald and Rhennic are lovers. Hmmm. Didn't see that one but one thing I was glad of is that the no monogamous thing with Rhennic and his relationship with Reginald came before the intimacy. So far, there's been little overlap with Layla and her men's lovers but it makes me question what her reaction might be if she were to see one of them with someone else. Especially since Layla comes from the human realm where monogamy was the ideal.
Reginald is torn between a father’s demands and his own desires, which will Reginald choose?
Layla finally meets the Royal Siren family. She discovers that Leviathan is a powerful, overbearing brute to not only Reginald but to all of his children. In this part of her life, she discovers the beauty of Reginald’s home. The magic of water, coral, pearls and so much more, makes Deep Harbor a magnificent wonder. Her dragon is attracted to more strong, very sensual men. Layla meets Fury and learns the story of his inner demons. And there is Rhennic, the Storm Regent. The love between the four is overwhelming.
This part of Layla’s life is filled with sensual and emotional scenes. The beauty of her surroundings, the high emotions of the adventures makes this book hard to forget. This a winner!! Looking forward to the net book in the series.
This series has taking me on a crazy ride. There is so much emotion and crazy with these characters.I truly hope to see them overcome all of the trials and tribulations they've had to undergo.I hope they never have to lose Each other. Their love and commitment is truly amazing as a group and as individuals. The future seems so much brighter even though it will still have many twist and turns but I love to continue the ride. Looking Forward to the next book This is really fun.
This is my favorite series of books by far!! I read all the books and I just can't wait for the next ones! I will say that book #7 was my least favorite of them all. Wasn't exciting at all for me, but every other book was just..... Hot hot hot!! Dusk and Reginald are my absolute favorite mates for Layla. I wish one of them was Layla's true mate because Adrian has barely made an appearance and hasn't really shown he is mate worthy.
Overall this is an amazing, exciting and adventurous series! The author is an amazing writer.
Wow. How amazing is this series! Such complexity is weaved throughout each book. I was frustrated that for almost 2 whole books Reginald was barely present. Oh, but the wait. It was so worth it. And then Fury and Rhennic. Eee!! Each written character so uniquely different and swoon worthy inspiring. Glad I don’t have to wait for the next book! This one was a doozy of epic proportion that I LOVED. Intrigue, complex storyline, deep love and steamy madness!
Great book, as Layla and two of her binds wage war against Hunter. We find long time connecting relationships between two binds. Layla is forced to bind another that upsets all the drakes. They kill the King, but Hunter is badly hurt and Layla loses her dragon during the fight. Already started the next book. I can’t put these books down.

Ava Ward did it again this time with her story focusing on Reginald story bringing in his past and futures and his choice of being King or being with Layla. The readers journey to see how the story plays out keeps you reading till the end.
Holy shit!!! Nooooooo!! What the heck happened.. this series just gets better and better...I'm obsessed.. I'm not a big RH fan, but this one is so good
Layla and Reginald go to his home near Shetland and meet his insane brother Fury, and his cruel father who is pushing them to kill him to ascend the throne, but Hunter is on the island.
Unfortunately, I just can't anymore with this series. The writing is not this issue; in fact, it's good. I think it's just the topic. The first several books in this series were just ok, quick, fluff reads and maybe my tastes have changed drastically over COVID. Now, it is painful to even think about finishing this series. I like a good paranormal here and there, but this is just too...over the top? Weird? I don't know how to describe it because this is purely my opinion. I just know that I have totally lost interest, and in the many, many books I have read, this hasn't happened very often and is working on my nerves.
Phenomenally romantic, paranormal romance you don’t want to miss! MUST-READ! SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY, author Ava Ward’s sixth book in the ROYAL DRAGON SHIFTERS OF MOROCCO series is an awe-inspiring mix of romance and an action-packed page-turner. For those of you who have not yet experienced author Ava Ward, she is the writer behind A RED LETTER HOTEL PARANORMAL ROMANCE. The title gives away the primary information, but it is merely the tip. At its foundation is Layla Price, a woman who was raised in the human world for the first twenty years of her life. However, a handsome stranger walks into her life and Layla finds through a series of events that she is a rare Royal Bind dragon shifter who must live in the Twilight Realm where she will receive the training needed to control her powers. Basically, Layla binds the Realm’s most powerful royal dragons to herself. The Twilight Realm is a world of author Ward’s creation. A fantastic place built with Ava Ward’s wonderfully descriptive prose, a place that is so detailed and fantastic that it is epically believable! A place so exquisite and a story so compelling SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY seems more real than the world outside of its pages. However, there is an evil within the Twilight Realm that Layla and her Royal men must battle. An evil that is so corrupt, so powerful, so secretive that the battle is nearly over before those fighting the evil register the crisis. Without a plan, they are left to using their strengths and skills in whatever way they can to stave off destruction and keep each other safe. And since SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY is a reverse haram tale one of the most powerfully romantic scenes has a hero who does not ask for her hand, but rather asks if he can join her life and support her. It is by far the strongest profession of love within the most romantic act I have ever read! I volunteered to read a copy of SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY by Ava Ward and must admit to loving every page of this sixth book in the series. Each novel has been better than the previous, and while some of the STEAMY scenes get pretty explicit (so those 18 or older only, please) this author keeps her facts straight and both the primary and secondary characters maturing while remaining true to their respective roles. The angst is tight, the action is non-stop, and the world is supremely difficult to walk away from when reading is complete. I would give SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY ten stars if I could because it is JUST THAT GOOD! I voluntarily read a copy of SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY, and this is my VOLUNTARY and HONEST 5+STAR review. I STRONGLY suggest that you purchase your copy of SEA DRAGON’S DESTINY right away. Even if this the first novel you read – you will love this standalone novel which depicts life at A Red Letter Hotel. Happy pages! 😉
This series is for mature readers and is the 6th installment. It builds the story nicely. By this stage in the series you need to have read the previous books. No way you could jump in here to start. This book wandered around for quite a while building the relationship between Layla and Reginald. There were also a lot of descriptive sequences about the Siren world. Think I was just impatient though as Ms Ward certainly gave us vivid imaginary, but it was a little repetitive with all the pearls and coral etc. But Ms Ward got us back on track with some strong story development, which for me really is the back bone of this series.
The hot and steamy continues and built significantly as the book went on so hold onto your hats for that. It was also nice to find out more about Rhennic in this book and there were a few surprises thrown in about Rhennic and Reginald and some of Reginald's family...sorry no details as I don't want any spoilers.
The book finishes on a bit of a cliff hanger and whets the appetite for book 7. I will stick with this series to the end as it draws you in and hooks you in, and Ms Ward has an amazing ability to build very imaginative stories and worlds.
One complaint however, I do get a little over the excessive adjective use and some poor grammar use continues throughout the series which really gets to me. However don't worry as it doesn't spoil the story per se, but it does grate.
There are exciting developments in Ava Ward’s sixth novel in the Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco series, both in the story and in Ms. Ward’s telling of the story. ”Sirens-as-dragons” is an excellent idea and beautifully realized throughout the book! I need pictures of Siren dragons, right now! Many metaphors are distinctive. I spent time trying to find out whether blue whales do swallow oysters because of the comparison "more pearls than a blue whale could swallow.” I've dropped my pedantry. For example, the image in this sentence, “Layla felt his power stroke her, like the tongue of an oyster.” is too beautiful to worry about whether oysters have tongues, like clams do, or not. The relationships between the characters we already know continue to expand and deepen. Layla begins to realize the difference between a polyamorous relationship and a harem-like relationship. At the same time, a new presence, a potentially disruptive one, has come into Layla’s bind, giving both her and the reader a more definite sense of the connections and balances that exist between the different men, not just between her and each man. These connections and balances exist for and between Layla's bound men, even when she is forced outside of their mutual linking. I wait impatiently for the next installment.
Holy Moly! Just when I thought there couldn’t possible be any more plot twists and turns up Ms. Ward’s sleeve she somehow makes my jaw drop and exclaim aloud ‘no flipping way!’. Which is really inconvenient because then my husband wants to know what’s going on and I have to try to explain this imaginary world I’ve been submerged in just blew my mind. Just Machiavellian. Speaking of imaginary worlds, we get to visit Deep Harbor in this book and explore Reginald’s childhood homeland. Again Ms. Ward hit the ball out of the park when it comes to world-building. No one else can conjure such awe-inspiring mental images of decadence and sensuality. The attention to detail is amazing while still leaving just enough for your imagination to work with. I really liked that we got to see a softer, nurturing side to Reginald, though he was still deliciously dominant. AND...are you ready for this? RHENNIC!!! Finally we get to spend more time with Layla’s tall drink of a Storm Dragon. *fans self* don’t tell Dusk Reginald’s alpha-male dominating and Rhennic’s gentleman-like tendencies were a perfect combination...that’s all I’m going to say. I hate when reviews give up spoilers, so I’m not going to do that, but this is a must read series if you like incredible world-building, soul-deep emotional connections, strong female characters, magical elements, and duh, dragons!
What just happened?! ALL THE THINGS! Ava Ward has done it again ladies and gentlemen! Created another masterpiece! Ms. Ward has taken us on another stunning journey, this time to Reginald’s clan home. We learn a great deal more about Reginald and his family dynamics. We also get some more insight and finally some sexy time with Rhennic. The imagery is beautiful, the bonds are lovely, and the battles are fierce. Things heat up even more with Hunter and of course we’re left wanting MORE!! So many twists, turns, and unexpected drops to this story!! Truly loved it from cover to cover! Can’t wait for the next installment! ❤️
