Join Pirate Mouse on a treasure hunting adventure of a lifetime!

Pirate Mouse is a tenacious, treasure-hungry pirate, with an overwhelming fear of… WATER. She hates it so much she hasn’t washed in years! Her grubby habits forced her mouse-crew to abandon ship, so when she sets off on her latest treasure hunt, she is all on her own.

The treasure hunt takes her on a swashbuckling adventure across a giant pirate ship, where she must confront her fears to claim the ultimate prize.

But there’s a twist! When she FINALLY makes it to the pirate-booty, it isn’t what she was expecting at all. She was hoping for gold and jewels, but is she about to discover an even greater treasure?

A funny and heart-warming tale that’s sure to have you talking like a pirate.

Perfect for fans of Julia Donaldson’s, The Troll, or Jonny Duddle’s, The Pirates Next Door.

Reviews

With an important message about not letting fear stand in the way of your dreams, Pirate Mouse has become a firm favourite with children, parents, and teachers alike. Here’s what some readers had to say …

It’s a delightful tale of life on board a pirate ship for a Mouse .

And it’s so nice to see a female role for the central character. A real rarity, especially in pirate stories. The illustrations focus on the main characters and are really distinct. I like that the pages aren’t busy and distracting with small details. They don’t need to be.

A fabulous story for children of all ages!

We have been so excited knowing that a 2nd book was being published by Kirstie Watson and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

It was a welcomed treat during lock-down and was well received by both the 3 and 6 year old!

It is now on the favourites shelf in my sons room although I quite often find it’s been snuck into my daughters room! I have a feeling that I will need to buy a 2nd copy!

A story with a surprise that leaves you and your child smiling.

“I love this book because it is about kindness and that friendship is more precious than treasure. I also like that a little mouse can also be a strong, brave and tough pirate!”. Words from my 6 years old daughter. This is a great story full of adventure and mishap that leads to an unexpected discovery...a little like life in general! The story teaches children about perseverance and compassion, qualities that are relevant more than ever, to today’s world

Aboard the ship lived a pirate mouse.
She loved finding the treasure.
But not fond of the water.
Her shipmates had abandoned her a long time ago.
She looked at a map where buried treasure lay below the sea.
It thundered & started to rain.
When it was over a Pirate Puffin was stuck in 1 of the ships fishing nets.

What happened when they became best friends?

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures, charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (preschool/elementary age) yoga storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational presentation (emotions, Coping Skills), movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

I enjoyed this read, which shows children that we have strengths and weaknesses; obstacles that we can overcome especially when we team up with a true friend.
This seafaring adventure has original characters in an unlikely combination who become better pirates because their personalities and strengths complement each other.
The illustrations in comic-book style were fun.
The reason I give this book a four-star rating is that the print was minute and that in places, the level of the language was not controlled for younger readers.
Overall, a charming story.

who doesn't love a great pirate read? i will never look at a fish again without thinking about them with normal human noses. lol!! 2 funny. great idea. great illustrations. i really enjoyed this read ... i wish more would be this size when reading through KU. they tend to be super tiny ... in the medium of the screen on the kindle. so that makes the text almost unreadable. but this ...whatever did happen ...it is just right. great read. i enjoyed it. well done!!

Super cute!

Great illustrations and a great story! A pirate mouse hates getting wet but loves searching for buried treasure. After being left behind by her “friends,” she soon finds herself bored and decides to seek out some treasure on her own. She’ll end up finding so much more.
