My least favourite one to date. The characters felt stiff and it was hard to grow on me. This one is about the youngest brother of Joshua and him being a photographer who wants to forget his father abandoning them. He has a one night stand with a model and they have a surprise pregnancy and this is them falling in love and getting past their demons.
The sixth book in the Seven Sins Dynasty series shows how the Black Cresent Scandal affected Sammie and Oliver. Oliver is the youngest Lowell son that deals with addiction in the wake of his father's scandal. Sammie is a model that Oliver has a one night stand with and ends up pregnant.

Untamed Passion by Cat Schield is the sixth book in the multi-authored Dynasties: Seven Sins series and features a sexy one night stand and an ‘oops! unexpected pregnancy!’ romance.
Oliver Lowell has been paying for his mistakes for years, and frankly he’s getting tired of it. Yes, after his father fled from an embezzlement charge that ruined the reputation of Black Crescent Investment Firm and the lives of many of his victims, including his family, Oliver sunk into an abyss of drinking and partying. But those days are behind him now. When one fabulous night spent with Filipina model Sammy Guzman results in her becoming pregnant, he’s determined to live up to his obligations and be a better father than his ever was. But can he also convince Sammy that what they shared can be the start of something even better?
I’ve been enjoying this series and waiting for Oliver to get his turn! Each story can be read as a standalone and while there is a loose story arc throughout the series, the individual stories have complete couple romances and explain enough details about what’s been happening for the reader to catch up easily.
Oliver has had his share of troubles but has found himself a good career as a photographer, staying out of the investment firm run by his brother Joshua. He’s still close with his brothers, even if they don’t always see that he isn’t that angry young man he used to be. His night with Sammy and her subsequent pregnancy are a way for him to show everyone that he’s ready for real responsibility and commitment.
Sammy is ready to be independent. She’s lived with her mother for years, a woman who pushed her into the modeling career for multiple reasons, and who is afraid of what Sammy’s unexpected pregnancy will mean. Oliver is wealthy, handsome, and a perfect catch really – but Sammy has spent so many years under the control of her mother that she doesn’t want to trade in being under one thumb for being under another. She is reluctant to accept financial help from Oliver and stands up for herself and her independence, which Oliver admires. Their first night together was a sexy affair neither forgot, and now that she’s pregnant and going to be in his life more permanently for the sake of the baby, it’s easy to keep succumbing to their attraction.
Oliver has to deal with family issues when his father, thought dead, turns out to be alive and gets arrested and put into jail. Sammy is willing to listen to him and offer him advice on how to deal with that, understanding how it is to have a complicated relationship with a parent. This helps them bond, and eventually they are able to figure out how to make their individual wants and desires coalesce into a meaningful and long lasting relationship. Their happy ending is very satisfying, and I’m looking forward to the conclusion of this series!
Oliver and Sammi’s book was one of my favorites of this series! I love an accidental pregnancy storyline, and this one was just sooo good. I felt for Oliver, and what he was going through, but Sammi really stole the book! Plus, I got my theories about the central mystery validated! I can’t wait for the conclusion in the last book!
Fifteen years ago, Vernon Lowell stole millions of dollars from his family and clients at Black Crescent Investments. He later disappeared without a trace, never to be seen or heard from again. The Dynasties: Seven Sins series shows the fallout of his actions and how they affected not just his heirs, but the heirs of the families he stole from as well.
Untamed Passion, written by Cat Schield, is the sixth book in the series. The story focuses on the youngest Lowell son Oliver and has a different feel than the other books in the series. The previous books have been about Black Crescent Investments and its search for new leadership. Untamed Passion is truly personal.
As the youngest of three kids, Oliver always felt unloved and overlooked by his parents and twin older brothers. When excelling at sports and school got him no attention, he stopped trying. With the scandal surrounding his family, Oliver turned to drugs and alcohol. After almost dying, Oliver gave up his addictions and became a sought after photographer.
Sammi Guzman is a twenty-six-year-old model who has been in the industry her entire life. She thinks it’s time for a change, but her manager/mother won’t allow it. After breaking up with her boyfriend, Sammi meets Oliver, who just happened to be her teenage crush. The two share a night of passion which results in Sammi becoming pregnant. Oliver is shocked and surprised to discover Sammi is carrying his child. While he doesn’t feel his past has taught him how to love, he knows he wants to take care of Sammi and his child, and have them both in his life.
I loved Untamed Passion because it was different. Yes, there are parts of the story that are predictable. But I genuinely loved Oliver and Sammi. They both carry baggage from their childhoods and adult lives. However, they truly complement and bring out the best in each other. The love they have for each other helps them heal and address the issues they have with themselves and their respective families. Untamed Passion was a story I didn’t want to end. I literally want to see Sammi and Oliver tomorrow, next week, next month, and years from now.

Since I knew going in that this book was not a favorite trope, I mentally adjusted my expectations because I really want to complete this entire series. And I was excited to read about Oliver! I've been intrigued by the other Lowell brothers this entire series. But unfortunately for me, this installment just didn't work for me for reasons aside from the accidental pregnancy after a one night stand. Also unfortunately, a lot of what doesn't work for me is the end.
Oliver is a recovering addict who has been sober for eight years but still doesn't quite trust himself, especially as his dad is found and put in prison for his financial crimes of many years ago. Arguably, this is not the time to find out that the woman, Sammi, he slept with as a one-night stand is pregnant with his child. But he does. Sammi wants Oliver to do whatever he wants, but also if he keeps saying what he wants is her, he needs to pull it together and be emotionally available. For Sammi, that means he needs to forgive his father. And that... is about where things started breaking down for me. I should also mention that Sammi's mother is verbally abusive but has a redemption narrative, which was also discomfiting.
Without spoilers, what I can tell you is that the emphasis on forgiveness of bad actors in this book just rubbed me the wrong way. With spoilers, I will say that
Also, so far I've focused on Oliver, so let's talk about Sammi. She's a model, who had been considering how to leave the profession and the pregnancy has rapidly accelerated that plan. She likes making lists and at one point sits down to make a list of things she loves and struggles to come up with things. This could be a super compelling storyline about her reconnecting to who she is away from her toxic mother, but the book doesn't take the space to do that. I think both of these characters had really compelling back stories that would have made this book better suited for a full length novel as opposed to category length because there needed to be more development of each character's ARC than what was allotted.
Anyway, this was a solid installment in the series, but definitely not a new favorite. Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for the advanced copy!
Oliver Lowell is the youngest son of the Lowells. He has two older brothers who are twins Joshua and Jake. Joshua is the responsible brother, because he has to take Black Crescent Hedge fund and rebuild it after his father left town with the money and his partner was killed in a car accident. It bankrupted the company by taking the money and so him and his brothers had to deal with the aftermath of what his father Vernon Lowell did. At first Oliver felt sorry for himself because he was the one always trying to seek attention from his fathers and even any of this brothers and even his mother. He went to Harvard but he flunked out because he partied and drank and did drugs. The turning point for him to get help was when his best friend Carson Bowels overdosed on drugs and he was not there for him because he was out trying to score some drugs. Until this day he always had Carson's dog tags on him in fact he had them on him that night and he doesn't know why Carson gave them to him. What sends Oliver into a tail spin is that he finds out from social media sights that his father had been caught somewhere in the Islands and they were bringing him back to New York to stand trial. His father to him was this larger than life person who would never give him any kind of attention unless it was to berate him never telling him he was good enough. So his world is coming lose after he had been sober for years so he goes out to this bar. He orders a drink but he just sits and looks at it. He sits in a corner of this pub in Soho and just watches people. This is where Sammi aka Samantha Guzman comes in. She is a model and she is coming into a bar with her boyfriend and total Jerk Ty. He is berated her and even from where he was sitting he could see that the man is abusing her emotionally and she is just sitting there and taking it. He is finally getting ready to leave and Oliver gets up on purpose and runs into him drops his drink on him. He tries to berate Oliver for that but Olly does not pay him any mind because all he could see was this exotic beauty that was a model but was sitting taking abuse from this man. Samantha aka "Suzi" was a model and her mother was her agent. They came to New York from the Philippines with her mom who had no money and just a high school diploma. So she used what she had which was her daughter's beauty. So Sammi has been modeling since she was one years old. She was going out with Ty because of her mother but she had no interest in him. So they meet she goes to his studio which is part of his home and from their goes the story of how their relationship grows. Loved this book. Would recommend it.

One of the trademarks of Harlequin Desire is the promise of scandal and sensuality. Cat Schield delivers this so well in her latest release of Untamed Passion.
A model, Sammi, becomes pregnant after a one night stand with Oliver who is a photographer. Of course when their paths cross again there is still chemistry between the two of them and his discovery of the pregnancy comes after a she winds up in the hospital after an accident.
As they start their journey together Oliver must reconcile his alpha male tendencies for her desire for independence. Her mother is her manager whose need for control over Sammi's life goes beyond her vision for her modeling career....and Sammi wants to do something other than model after modeling her whole life. I felt like Schield did an excellent job with the characters in this regard as she balances both of the characters desires in their journey together.
While a lot of the drama does rely on both of the characters backstories, Schield manages to keep the reader in the moment allowing for the dialogue and action in the present to propel the story forward. This is possibly where the genre comes off as ridiculous at times but one must note the mastery that the author has in making sure there is movement in the story while staying within the tight word count guidelines Harlequin has for their series romance.
There have been times in my quest to build my writing craft that a lot of more "literary fiction" fails to keep a plot structure and if it does have one it fails to entertain. This is where solid genre fiction writers have been my guide schield maintains to be a solidly entertaining writer who incorporates plot so well in every book she writes.
A few of the other things that I appreciated about Untamed Passion were the fact that the happily ever after had reconciliation with characters who were not love interests. But it still manages to live up to the promise of the title Untamed Passion with delightfully racy sex scenes!
I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Harlequin Desire or to anyone who wants an entertaining short scandalous read. I definitely had fun reading it!
Thank you to the author for my advanced reader copy of this book!
We read about one of Oliver’s brothers Joshua the new CEO of Black Crescent financial investment firm. Oliver Lowell is one of the infamous sons of Vernon Lowell who was CEO of his financial investment firm Black Crescent, he’s also the man who ran away from his family and embezzled all of this client’s money. Vernon left a big burden on his clients. His wife and sons are left to deal with the downfall and it is not pretty. They are being blamed for what their father did.
Oliver is an artist/photographer and has battled addictions. Sammi is a model and her boyfriend is not a nice person and her mom is not that much better. Sammie is having it hard.
Oliver and Sammi meet at a bar and Oliver notices how Sammi’s boyfriend is treating her and when the boyfriend walks away and leaves Sammi with the bar tab Oliver steps in and invites her to join him at a table and takes care of the bar tab.
Oliver informs Sammi that he is a photographer and would love to take pictures of her because pictures reveal a lot about a person. Sammi agrees and goes with Oliver to his apartment and they have a one-night stand that results in a pregnancy.
Can Oliver and Sammi help each other mend and be loving parents and overcome their past.
I enjoyed this Oliver and Sammi’s road to recovery and looking forward to reading the final book in the series about Jake Lowell the 3rd sibling in the Lowell family.

Oliver has always felt like he was never good enough, smart enough, successful enough, talented enough for the demanding father whose approval he craved. Sammie has let her mother run roughshod over her modelling career and her life. Will these two broken souls be the key to unlocking each other’s freedom from their pasts? I enjoyed this book and I really love how the overall story arc of the series is filling out. I liked seeing that the main focus of this story seems to be about growth and forgiveness, but to my way of thinking it all happens too fast in the eleventh hour of the book. Both Oliver and Sammie have years worth of anger and resentment to work through. And, while the first steps can be as quick as this book shows, true healing usually takes much longer. On the other hand, that this story shows their love for one another and their unborn child being the starting point to make those changes to be better people, is something I can applaud. I’m also wondering what the point was in making the heroine a Filipina? If it was for the sake of cultural diversity, then I would have expected to see some of the lush beauty of the Philippines, but Sammie admits she knows nothing about her people. So, I ask again, what was the point? Similarly, I still desperately want to know what the photo would have shown. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Oliver Lowell is a successful photographer with some serious demons to battle: Alcohol, addiction and anger. Samantha "Sammi" Guzman is a model who needs to break free of her mother's clutches. The two meet and have a hot one night stand. From that single encounter, Sammi learns she is pregnant. From that point on her life changes. Oliver can't get Sammi out of his mind, so when he learns she may be expecting his child, he finds himself opening his home, if not yet his heart, to this woman. The heat and chemistry between the two characters drove this story for me. It was an intense physical attraction. I was glad to see Sammi come into her own and gain some independence. And, Oliver, who may not be every reader's idea of a book hero, also has to decide if he will be ruled by his anger toward his father or if he has the strength to rise above. I enjoyed the story. It kept my interest and the cover art is absolutely stunning. There wasn't much in the storyline that made it diverse for me. However, I do like the strong theme of forgiveness, of love and of second chance. Memory quotes: "If you can't let go of your anger, you will always be its victim." "Loving him meant she had to be brave enough to goad him into fighting for their future, and failing that, be willing to let him go." thank you #Netgalley #Harlequin
Untamed Passion by Cat Schield is the sixth in the Seven Sins multi-author continuity series by Harlequin Desire. Oliver Lowell is the younger son of Vernon Lowell, the hedge-fund hotshot who betrayed Falling Brook more than a decade ago when he vanished with stolen billions. Oliver's always lived in the shadow of that betrayal--his oldest brother stepped up to preserve the family's legacy, and turn around the company's direction, while Oliver's always felt both overlooked and unloved. And so, SO angry and resentful of his father. He struggled for years after with addiction, and while he's feeling satisfaction with how he's continuing to conquer those demons, he isn't exactly a light-hearted person. One incredible night with model Sammi Guzman leaves them with a permanent connection. He's never felt the passion and emotion with anyone else, and while he wants to pursue this, both of them have some maturing to do before they can make this work.
Cat Schield's Untamed Passion is an emotionally charged and tumultuous read, full of heart wrenching and moving moments. My one reservation is that I felt the resolution came about somewhat too quickly, although I was definitely rooting for Sammi and Oliver to find accord. An exciting addition to this series.
Uncensored lust leads to consequences they never expected! With book six in the always sinful Dynasties: Seven Sins series Cat Schield delivers one of my favorites so far in the series when a footloose playboy meets his match and curtails his wild ways. The characters each had intriguing back stories and the passion they ignited was decadent. Looking forward to what the conclusion of this dramatic series has in store for us!
Oliver just might be my favorite of the characters affected by the Black Crescent scandal yet. He's such a kind-hearted guy and pours his pain and struggles out bit by bit to show us the man he used to be and how far he's come to put himself back together. I adored him and loved watching him fall for his new future.
Sammi is a sweetheart. She's worked hard all of her life to try to achieve greatness but just feels like she's some kind of a Barbie doll playing at life. She has a breakthrough when life throws her the curve of a baby on the way and makes her strive to be the person she really wants to be for that little one.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a dramatic love story filled with passion, angst and happily ever afters.
This is the sixth book in the Harlequin Desire Dynasty Sins Series. Sam I Guzman has a chance meeting with Oliver Lowell, just as she breaks up with her boyfriend that really didn’t care for Sammi. After meeting Sammi and Oliver wind up in a one night stand. Six weeks later Sammi finds out she is pregnant and that it was Oliver’s baby. Oliver has some demons from his past family relationship and he feels so much wrath towards his father because he left town after a ponzi type scheme amongst the rich and elite families whose money was invested in this scheme. Sammi now has to deal with being pregnant and having a mother that runs Sammi’s life and modeling career. With all the life drama that is going on in each of their lives, can Sammi and Oliver raise this baby as a family and deal with each other’s damaging past? You will have to read this storyline to see for yourself. I don’t want to give away spoilers as to what happens or didn’t happen. The author developed the characters that are relatable and you can feel their emotions.. I recommend this book to read along with the other 6 books in the series, which each can be read as stand-alones. Cassandra H.
I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Netgalley and this review is of my honest opinion.
This may be my favorite book of this entire series!!
The writing is superb—well thought out, and beautifully executed.
The story was emotional and raw in a way very different from the others in the series, the culture it emulates within its characters...I loved it from start to finish.
Sammi is inspirational in her approach to life and it’s uncertainties...the growth and wisdom she exudes is something all people can and should strive for.
Oliver (I love his name!) is a perfect counter-part to Sammi in that his growth and change comes from trauma suffered and past hurts that keep him stuck in the same cycles...Sammi helps him to see that only he has the power to change his future, and it shouldn’t be reliant on the approval of others.
That is just one reason this story was so remarkable and unforgettable...the other? Well, the chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS sexy! I found myself blushing even (and I don’t blush anymore—so I thought).
Very tasteful and true to Harlequin in style, but pushes sensual limits which was refreshing and most definitely perfect for the context of this particular “sin”.
Well done! I look forward to reading more from this author...thank you, NetGalley and Harlequin for the opportunity to read this title and provide my honest feedback.
This is book six in The Seven Wins Series and it is Sammi and Oliver's story and what a book it is, this book is so well written on such a difficult subject. Sammi and Oliver have one got night together only for Sammi to find out that she is pregnant with Oliver's child but how will he react to the news. Oliver's father as disappeared with billions of dollars after betraying Falling Brook people and that has had a big effect on Oliver and he has never felt good enough for anyone. Will this be the same up call that Oliver news to turn his life around and take on his responsibilities and be a good person and father . Wow Sammi and Oliver's chemistry was so hot between them that you could feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I couldn't stop reading it to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. Cat Schield is an amazing author and writer and I love her books so much and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
4 stars for the romance content There is not much steamy passion but a sweet thoughtful romance between nice compatible people I can see how Oliver fits into the family saga and interesting to learn more about the other family members If you normally enjoy this series you will enjoy this as a sweet comfort read
However... I was thinking of rating much lower I am so bothered but I don’t think it’s fair on the author - this however is a topic that must be addressed
It’s a big fail the heroine being a Filipina. It makes for great cover art but that’s where the “diversity” ends No sense she has this cultural heritage. Sammie comes across as culturally generic and that took me out of the story a lot. I’ve read tons of Harlequin Presents books where different cultures are celebrated and are made part of great romantic plots - here there was none of that and it was very disappointing It seems like a missed opportunity

This one was a little hard for me to get into but once I did it was enjoyable. Oliver has been dealing with his feelings for his prison inmate fathers lack of love and approval all his life and therefore never wanted to have a serious relationship. Sammi has been a model all her life with her mother relying on her for support and now at twenty seven she is ready to walk away but her mother is not happy. When these two end up together for one night leaving her pregnant she knows she can take care of herself and the baby but decides to tell Oliver but lets him off the hook if he is not interested in the baby. They can not stay away from each other and he ask her to move in with him for the sake of the baby but she does not want to rely on him because she has fallen in love and he does not feel that way. When he decides to visit his father he is able to release the anger that has been holding him back from a loving relationship but is it too late to get Sammi back into his life.
Oliver is a man who tried to handle the scandal and pain of his father’s action through self-destructive behavior but has turned his life around and is now a successful photographer who has rebuilt his relationships with his siblings. When he comes to the aid of a woman, he didn’t know he had now idea that it wouldn’t only be a night they would always remember or that it would create a lifelong bond.
Sammi is a woman who is weighted down by the demands of others which has led to a career in modelling that isn’t her dream. When a sexy stranger comes to her aid, she never thought that one steamy evening would change the course of both of their lives when she finds herself carrying his baby.
Not only are Oliver and Sammi trying to maneuver their feelings for each other, but they are also both dealing with family drama. For them to have a future together they not only need to deal with the past but also decide who and what they want in their future.
A one night stand that will change Sammi and Oliver’s life Put off by bad memories of his father, Oliver walks into a bar to tempt his sobriety when he sees Sammi being dumped by her boyfriend. Sammi invokes a desire within Oliver, so he seizes the moment to approach her which turns into an evening not to be forgotten by either of them. Oliver has no clue where to find her, until Sammi lands at his doorstep with her revelation which reminds Oliver of his own poor upbringing and his father’s return plastered over the media. Sammi is now forced to look for her next direction in life and wonders how Oliver will fit in with his anger over his past and present. Can the two find their happily ever after despite the forces against them? You have to read to find out and won’t put the book down until you turn the last page!
Untamed Passion by Cat Schield is the sixth book int he Dynasties Seven Sins Series. You might just say this is a One night stand gone a little bad.
Oliver is a photographer and heir to the Black Crescent. He has no desire to take over any part of the family business. He does however want to find the model he spent one night with and she vanished from his bed.
Sammi knew she was ready to do something besides model but she had no idea she would have to figure it out so soon. Those lines on the pregnancy test don't lie though and it soon will be a secret she can't keep. So she must hunt down Oliver to let him know she is carrying his child even though she plans to raise it by herself if she has to.
This was such a great book. It has a lot to do with trust and anger management. Sammie is a model who was dating a man who did not treat her well. They had broken up at a bar and he left her with a big bill. Oliver is a photographer who just happen to be there at that moment and came to her rescue. After a one night stand, they did not see each other for several weeks until Sammie found out she had a problem. When she went looking for him, she got hit by a bike and ended up in the hospital. Needless to say, these two had their problems but when Oliver found out what her problem was he stepped up to the plate to help her. Will these two work it out or go their separate ways?

This is Book 6 in the Dynasties: Seven Sins Series by this author. It is a sweet, heartfelt romance between photographer Oliver and model Sammi. These characters are flawed, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an intriguing read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something. more. It is a love story with enough drama, excitement, frustrating moments, sweetness, some twists and sizzling chemistry. Overall, it is a quick read with engaging secondary characters and a happy ending. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is emotionally charged. Oliver has unresolved anger at his family which led to bad decisions. When he meets Sammi, their one night stand leads to pregnancy. While has pulled himself up and is successful, his anger is still there. When Sammi won't marry him, he takes her suggestion to visit his dad in prison and realizes that the anger is pointless and washes his father out of his life. He goes to Sammi and this time she accepts.
This was a great story. This is about Sammi and Oliver. Oliver is a photographer, and never measured up to his father's expectations, and Sammi is a model and has an overbearing mother who is involved in all aspects of her life. After a one night stand Sammie is pregnant and once Oliver finds out he does the right thing. There are buried anger and resentment on both parties part, and in the story they learn to trust and love. Great story.

Seven writers team up to write "Seven Sins". These stories are about a one man's betrayal and seven lives that were shaped by that scandal. This one is Oliver and Sammi’s story. This is an intriguing story that I could not put down. I love the characters and how their story develops. These two have one incredible night of passion that turns into a little surprise. The attraction between them is definitely not the problem but all the drama and family issues could be the end of them. This is a nicely developed story. I really love the characters. I have really enjoyed all of these stories!!
I picked this book for my alphabet challenge. It is the sixth book in a Harlequin Desire series. I did not read any of the other books in the series. I found that I like the characters and the premise. Sammi Guzman had seen Oliver Lowell when he was still a model. They have a passionate night together and do not see each other again until after she finds out she is pregnant. They both have pasts that affect their present. To find out if and how they decide to spend the rest of their lives then read this book. I recommend this book for adults and mature readers.
Accidental pregnancy storylines aren't my favorite, but I found this novel compelling. Despite years of sobriety, Oliver is haunted by ghosts from the past, especially his father's crimes and his friend Carson's overdose. Sammi is coming out of a toxic relationship and struggling to wrest control of her life from her overbearing mother. When these two damaged souls come together, they're just what the other needs.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I won't say sweet per se but this was an enjoyable read, love the "connection and attraction" between Oliver and Sammi. He was afraid he will make his father's mistake, and she was worried about not being independent enough or not being able to accomplish that. They both had the wrong kind of foundations and working on each their side to make it work. Lovely read and a quick read too.
