I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a bit like a little reminder that should be read again every once in a while. At the same time it is so basic and elementary but also genious. This book has something for everyone. I had to read it for my masters studies but for sure there are pearls for parents, married couples, teachers, therapists, managers and leaders. I wouldnt say much, just the most important thing that I take with me from the book. In life and communication there is no resistance - everybody has their own unique way of cummunicating. If we believe people around us give their best and are their best, then this is exactley how it is.

Poorly written and irritating layout (half of the text seems to be in bold), but some interesting and useful insights.

Excellent in its simplicity. Good techniques to use with colleagues/employees, your children, your spouse, and... yourself.

Since coaching has developed as a major management discipline, hundreds if not thousands of titles have proliferated to satisfy the interests of a large market. Theory, academic texts and case studies all have their place, however it's refreshing once in a while to come across a book which has no pretension, doesn't present the basics of coaching as some dark science and is written from the heart. "Water the flowers" is one such book: simply written and immediately appealing. The few but important principles spelled out and beautifully illustrated get to the heart of what coaching others is all about, and their impact loses nothing in this translation from Peacock's original French text. Reading this book reminds you that the coaching isn't a reserved right just for a trained "master" or academic specialist, but may often be applied most powerfully by those who take its intended 'helping others' power to heart, and who take pleasure in the simple when there is no need to complicate. The book is an inspiring introduction to the principles under-pinning "solution focused" coaching - and, for that matter - solution focused living. Thoroughly recommended.

I just LOVE this book. It's easy lighthearted written with a strong urge of truth in it. It's practical to use for all kinds of relationships, even when you think the situation is to difficult. Nowadays I use and advise this book to people I guide in team processes.
