“I don’t do sloppy seconds, so I damn sure ain’t gonna be third-string. We’re partying all weekend. You’re around, maybe I’ll be interested.”
I heard Roll say, “Ain’t nobody with me. You know that, Blood. No ties. No settling down. Wanna fuck, I fuck with a woman who’s willing.”
The only things I ever wanted in life were absolutely and always the things I could never have. My innocence. My mother. My knight in leather.
“In case you didn’t hear it in the kitchen, I don’t claim women. Ain’t got any need for an old lady. You look at me like that’s what you’re after, so if we party tonight, you need to recognize it for what it is. You won’t get your hooks in me.”
Ten years later… It was pathetic and sad, but nothing with Roll had changed over the years.
I was all about the Riot MC brothers, but I would only give up my snatch to Roll.
Roll still saw me as a piece of ass and nothing more.
“Why’d they go after Trixie to start with, and what do they want with you, Roll?” Razor asked. Roll sighed, but looked Razor in the eyes. “My best guess is that either he or another Devil Lancer saw me with Heathen’s Ol’ Lady.”
Women. Christ, I had my head planted in the sand. That thought told me that even my damn subconscious knew I was never the only woman in his life.
The last four days forced me to take stock of my life. Roll was never going to settle down, and I had wasted the best years of my life waiting for him.
Any other time over the years, Roll let me fend for myself where food or drinks were concerned.
He woke me at dawn with his mouth at my center. That was new for me, because he typically made a habit of getting out of Dodge before sunrise.
“Then why do you use condoms with me?” “Just because I’m sterile doesn’t make me immune to STDs.” I gasped. “You’re the only brother—” “Not in the beginning, but bottom line, I’ll go get tested. I’m clean and you’re clean, we can lose the rubbers.”
Ten fucking years you’ve devoted to Roll, and he’s been holding back because of what may or may not be a low fuckin’ sperm count.
Abby’s voice was deceptively gentle. “He strung you along for ten years, Trix.”
Hell, I wanted to kick your ass when you tried to run off with a club skank before Liar and Razor were patched-in back in November, but Vamp was busy trying to drag me to his room.”
Roll darted his gaze to them, and then back to Major and Volt. “What they don’t know is that I was forced to claim Trixie because of their actions so what difference does it make?”
