Riot MC #5

Foolish Riot

Rate this book
Patricka “Trixie” Baker grew up being used and abused. The night she met her “knight in a leather cut,” she dedicated herself to infiltrating his life. For ten years, all she’s wanted is to be Roll’s property more than anything. Anything. She’s a fixture in the Riot MC, but not part of the family. She never cared what anyone thought of her, but she refuses to be anyone’s fool. With determination to change, and Roll’s inability to commit, she won’t waste any more of her youth on him.
Homer “Roll” Rolland has two secrets; one he knows will hold Trixie back and limit her life. He’s wanted her in his bed since the first time he laid eyes on her, but holding her back is the last thing he wants to do to the woman he loves. When his other secret leads to Trixie being brutally attacked by a rival MC, Roll is forced to make a decision.

Trixie wants to be Roll’s property. Roll’s secrets hold him back from her. Will they find a way to stay together?

Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
================

“I don’t do sloppy seconds, so I damn sure ain’t gonna be third-string. We’re partying all weekend. You’re around, maybe I’ll be interested.”

I heard Roll say, “Ain’t nobody with me. You know that, Blood. No ties. No settling down. Wanna fuck, I fuck with a woman who’s willing.”

The only things I ever wanted in life were absolutely and always the things I could never have. My innocence. My mother. My knight in leather.

“In case you didn’t hear it in the kitchen, I don’t claim women. Ain’t got any need for an old lady. You look at me like that’s what you’re after, so if we party tonight, you need to recognize it for what it is. You won’t get your hooks in me.”

Ten years later… It was pathetic and sad, but nothing with Roll had changed over the years.

I was all about the Riot MC brothers, but I would only give up my snatch to Roll.

Roll still saw me as a piece of ass and nothing more.

“Why’d they go after Trixie to start with, and what do they want with you, Roll?” Razor asked. Roll sighed, but looked Razor in the eyes. “My best guess is that either he or another Devil Lancer saw me with Heathen’s Ol’ Lady.”

Women. Christ, I had my head planted in the sand. That thought told me that even my damn subconscious knew I was never the only woman in his life.

The last four days forced me to take stock of my life. Roll was never going to settle down, and I had wasted the best years of my life waiting for him.

Any other time over the years, Roll let me fend for myself where food or drinks were concerned.

He woke me at dawn with his mouth at my center. That was new for me, because he typically made a habit of getting out of Dodge before sunrise.

“Then why do you use condoms with me?” “Just because I’m sterile doesn’t make me immune to STDs.” I gasped. “You’re the only brother—” “Not in the beginning, but bottom line, I’ll go get tested. I’m clean and you’re clean, we can lose the rubbers.”

Ten fucking years you’ve devoted to Roll, and he’s been holding back because of what may or may not be a low fuckin’ sperm count.

Abby’s voice was deceptively gentle. “He strung you along for ten years, Trix.”

Hell, I wanted to kick your ass when you tried to run off with a club skank before Liar and Razor were patched-in back in November, but Vamp was busy trying to drag me to his room.”

Roll darted his gaze to them, and then back to Major and Volt. “What they don’t know is that I was forced to claim Trixie because of their actions so what difference does it make?”

“Because I love you, that’s why”

Not only did Trixie finally get the happy and good life she deserves, but she almost broke my heart in the process! She and Roll have been “casual” for almost a decade, and it’s time to cut ties and move on. Trixie knows that Roll doesn’t really care about her, much less love her, and she’s beyond tired of trying to pretend that being his non-woman girl is enough. Of course, that means that fate must intervene to change Trixie’s mind.

Roll has loved Trixie for so long, but he wants her to have everything in life. And he knows that “everything” is something he just can’t give to her. Roll doesn’t want to let Trixie go, but he’s afraid she won’t be kept so easily anymore. Then Trixie is used as a pawn in a game that no one knew was even being played, and Roll sees his chance to step up for REAL and for GOOD for his woman. But will Trixie believe in him and in them enough to give in and fight for the man she loves?

Trixie and Roll have a painful, angsty, somewhat dark, and scary road ahead, but they’ve proven one thing many times: they don’t give up. They don’t quit. And no one messes with Riot MC or their women without serious consequences. As usual, this author brought her A game to the story of Trixie and Roll, and I hung on to every last word of their tale until the very happy, beautiful end.

Love this series!

You are an original when it comes to writing K. Renee. Your books always flow, with plenty of heart, action, and passion. I loved Roll and Trixie throughout this book. Roll, was determined to push Trixie away, only to pull her closer. Possessive, jealous, and determination for her to be safe was always at the front of his mind. Trixie, was in love from the beginning. The day Roll saved her she saw no one else. This book is filled with powerful emotions! It showed the heart of the MC and it's members!

Roll and Trix

LOVE this series! I couldn't wait to find out the story behind Roll and Trixie! This is definitely the couple I wanted to NOT like when I first encountered them in Cal and Mallory's book, but I developed a soft spot for Trixie as the series went on! This story had me all over the place from loving Roll one minute to hating him the next... but one things for sure the lady really did push his hand!

excellent…

This story was good. It has family drama, exciting car chases, kidnapping and with an with HEA. No cliffhanger. This has a lot of action, romantic angst and it provides a glimpse into the lives of the other brothers and their sufficient others. I really enjoyed this one.

Wild & hot

He didn’t need a reminder of how quickly Trixie could get familiar with someone and he sure didn’t need someone like Har shoving it in his face when he knew to call her his property,

Riot.

I have loved Trixie since she was introduced in Cal and Mallory’s book. But man I love her and Roll together and when she is being the Venom Vixen and putting everyone in there place. Biker drama and crazy rival clubs make this a great book. Love me some Riot MC.

I flew through the pages of this book!!! Karen Renee has had me hooked on this series from the first book and I can't get enough. These books are ones that will have you flipping the pages and not realizing that maybe I should have went to bed. Sleep is not important, finishing this book and seeing how it all plays out will be.

I have been curious about Trixie from the beginning and I loved that we finally get Trixie and Roll's story. My heart was in my throat for Trixie. Not only for all the B.S. she deals with when it comes to Roll but her past wasn't easy either. She has had to learn to become the Venomous Vixen that she is known to be but underneath it all is someone that just wants to be loved, protected and safe. Roll doesn't want an ol' lady but he doesn't want to let her go either but he wants her to have whatever she wants in life. He has secrets and he when they are revealed I was shocked. I wasn't expecting them but is it too little too late. Danger is lurking and people are going to get hurt.

This is a MUST read!!! You don't want to miss out.

Honestly, I wasn't sure about Roll and Trixie going into their story, but I'm so glad I got to know them better because they deserve their HEA!
Roll is big and gruff but also a huge teddy bear when it comes to his family.
Trixie has had a crap life and her defense mechanisms war with that stubborn hope that lives inside her- the hope that convinces her (thankfully) to stick it out with Roll, despite his initial best efforts to shut it down.
This story also has some of my favorite elements in romance:
*A tough as nails heroine who isn't a doormat but also knows when to give in.
*An alpha hero who is equal parts swoony and a pain in the ass.
*THE CHASE. Yes, Trixie has moments when she is resistant (she's been hurt so many times, so even though she loves Roll, those defense mechanisms kick in) and Roll is determined not to let her get too far.

This series continues to be one of my favorite MC series out there, and I'm really looking forward to the next book!

Trixie has been in love with Roll since the day she met him. She spent a good amount of time trying to get on his radar, and now that she has been, she wonders what she is doing hanging on to a man who will never give her more. (I feel ya sista!)

Roll has always been upfront and honest, no one will get their hooks in him. He likes the time he spends with Trixie, but he’ll never be able to give her what she deserves in life. He pushes her so she’ll find someone who can.

What an interesting book! I can’t say who I wanted to root for, Roll or Har? OMG can I have the one she doesn’t choose? I’ve really been enjoying this series and this book was not different. 4.5 stars! Can’t wait for the next one!!

I love my MC book and I LOVED this one!
It was an emotional roller coaster that is for sure but I wouldn’t have it any other way really.
I loved the chase and even though Trixie & Roll have a painful/angsty relationship ahead of them they never give up!
The MC world is so well represented in this series/book that I can never put down the book.

Trixie and Roll have has a weird relationship for over ten years. When she is ready to give it up and move on, Roll decides he can’t let her do that. Add in some real danger and these two fates are sealed. Excellent writing with a storyline you will never forget.

The book felt long. I believe its because I read the first four and now they are blending together. I didn't care for Trixie. You couldn't figure out if she was a club girl or a hang around, because they in no way get a choice about who they seggs with. To tell members no is not really done. I thought she was whiney and a little bit stupid. Even her back story didn't make me feel for her. Roll was kind of the same way. Giving mixed signals for years, was a no for me. I did fell bad for Rage, he didn't deserve what he got. To many new characters dropped in this one for roll...brother, nieces, mom, and the new bad guys as well. At one point, there were four possible clubs involved. Too much to follow.

The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I love Trixie. I wanted to like this series. Many have given it a high rating. I never finished this book. Every H is the same and every h is the same. Over the top controlling H. The h appears strong but then gets railroaded and does it thinking it was all her fault. Ugg! at one point another character tells her it is all the fault and she needs to stop messing with him. And she then blames herself! I'm sure it ends all happy like the others. But some variety would have been nice. I won't be reading the others in the series..

I ended up taking one star off. It is, in my opinion, just not good

Foolish Indeed

I loved the characters Trixie and Roll. They are perfect for each other in this story of secrets and poor communication. Because of that, nearly 10 years of uncertainty plagues their relationship. I laughed and shed tears reading about their journey. Karen Renee's characters in all her books are so well developed that they touch you deeply right in the heart. Read all her Riot books and enjoy being a part of their world.

Ok, my irritation is gone!!!! This book was so much better, to me, because he curbed his caveman. 9 years it took for Roll to take his ole lady, but she didn't give in easy. Loved this book!!! 😍

One of my favorite things about Karen Renee is that fact that her stories have long enough lengths that everything really develops well, not to mention how emotionally invested I become because of that fact. Foolish Riot is the story of Trixie, a girl who was a bada**, so needed a bada** man, which is how she ended up falling for Roll, a member of the Riot MC. Although, he told her the first time they hooked up that he would never claim any woman, she still took him anyway she could get him, with that hope that she would be the one who changed him. This went on for like 10 years, and at that point, I was no fan of Roll, because he truly kept coming back for more without claiming her, so I can honestly say that I was actually cheering when Trixie decided she was done. He wouldn't stay away from her all the way, and she was tired of it, so since she wasn't getting any younger, she decided it was time to distance herself from all of Riot. Then something heinous happened to her because of Roll, and all of a sudden, he decides it's time to claim her. (Can you feel my eyes rolling yet?!) She didn't agree with him, so he had his work cut out for him. Seriously though, while she did make things difficult, she didn't make them difficult enough in my eyes. In the midst of this drama, twists started coming out of the woodwork, and my f-bombs started raining down loudly. Roll still made some questionable decisions, and some of them really hurt Trixie, which found her trying to get away from it all. This is when he really pissed me off badly, because he couldn't be bothered to give her the time she wanted, even going as far as saying if she didn't watch herself, he would be gone, and I flipped the script. She waited for his stupid a** for TEN YEARS, and he couldn't give a week or two?! At this point, I felt like my head was about to explode from my rage. And that's all I'm saying at this point, because as you can see, I was fully invested, but I want everyone else fully invested so no more hints from me! So did Trixie & Roll finally settle in for happily ever after?! You'll have to one click to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
