We return for the fifth installment of the Lion and the Mouse. Kazimir is not only dangerous, but he is feared by all. No one crosses him and gets away with it. And he will stop at nothing to protect Emily. Still, threats loom around every corner. Murder. Kidnapping. Betrayal. Enemies lurk within the shadows. Dead animals appear along with ancient warnings. And with a cruel twist of fate, a huge rival that Kazimir and Emily thought they were done with, returns. Can the lion and mouse beat these hidden enemies at their own game? Or will these challenges destroy them completely? Dark and deeply erotic, this high-octane romance will lure you into a mystery with deadly twists and turns.
Prepare for sleepless nights as well as an emotional rollercoaster that may cause impregnation.
Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.
Words are power, and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.
It's an audacity to inspire and teach the healing of love through arousal.
It's this crazy idea that love can not only help a reader escape, but the story can also teach the person about being human, while making them laugh, cry, and hot for more sex.
I am disappointed and I feel duped by the author. This book should have been the ending of the Lion and Mouse saga. If the reader can sense the end was not near based upon the creeping pace, introduction of new conspiracy theories and alliances, history lessons, and drawn out answers then the author should have known as well. To say the characters led her there appears to be a flimsy explanation for her indulgence and motivation to coerce more funds from those who invested their time in this series. It would have been more ethical to have spin-offs using the various interesting secondary characters: Max, Boris, King David, Baba, Blue, Yellow etc. or even retelling the story from the points of views of other characters: There could have been a prequel of Kaz and his gang featuring: Igor, Adrik, Timor, Rolan etc.
As an avid reader, it is disheartening that it appears authors no long invest in proofreaders or editors. The frequent misuse of words / basic spelling errors is not only distracting but a paradigm. An author who possess a lack of respect for words.
This series has been a crazy, action packed ride from book one, page one. I'm here for it all! Emily continues to be kickass and Kaz is even sexier. KW delivers murder, mayhem and mass destruction in the midst of a love story for the ages. She weaves her story arcs so skillfully, you find yourself gasping, guessing, fanning yourself in between getting more wine and desperate for more. I can't wait for what's next.
The pair is back in Moscow...the Mouse is has suffered a unimaginable loss and the Lion is dealing with his pain from the loss by bombing Paris....the Mouse is not having any of it and scurried away to stand her ground...that infuriates the Lion and as powerful as he thinks he is....he realizes that the Mouse is the most powerful because she is his life and gives him breath...meanwhile...the Butcher is watching and waiting to make his move....in Russia...and not in Paris as the Lion thinks...and the Brotherhood has so many layers of deceit and traitorous players...especially those closest to the Lion...and now the Mouse has to flex her muscles...serial killer style...slicing and dicing...while the Butcher goes to work with his killer violin....but wait there's more...on stage WTF.....enters the Nigerians...Black Axe enters stage front and center....it's gonna get darkest literally and figuratively....KW is once again a master storyteller......go Black Girl Magic👑
I think the note to the readers at the end of this book, was a necessity. Because for the first time since starting this series, I found myself taking breaks instead of gobbling what is probably the longest novel in the series.
With that being said, this is another filler book to the never-ending storylines that surround Kaz and Emily. I too, like our characters, need a vacation.
With more time to judge and understand the characters, I am now in agreement with my fellow reviewers. Kazimir's power lost it's strength when the Corsican mafia was able to hold a gun to his head shortly after he released a load of cum in Emily. It's been slipping ever since.
I was excited about this series because while we read about powerful men, we never really get stories of the men who have the power to control those powerful men. However, I am now wondering if Kazimir is just crazy rich enough to constantly hire a small village of men but that's where it ends. Where is the loyalty? Where is the fear? He's starting to become a folklore.
Our Harlem serial killer is growing and changing before our eyes. If I am being honest, she is more of a boss than Kaz. Max is also transforming but I don't know if I like his new Max. We saw him move from a level-headed fixer for his small crew, to the stereotyped black man who spends most of his day high. While funny and a good source of entertainment, we once dedicated chapters to this man and I miss him. I don't know who this man is and I have no idea of his thoughts.
The amount of sex has lessened, so thanks for that and as per usual, with each stamp of their illegal passport, they bring home more misfits from across the world, to help fight this never-ending battle of power.
As allies go, I must say that with each book, I want to explore the French. I might just get Jean-Pierre's story after this and I especially want to read about Giorgio and Louis.
A lengthy book, but one of more questions than answers. Still, the writing is good, despite the heavy grammatical and spelling errors and I understand the author's need to not rush and to take her time unravelling this complicated world.
It's like Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys on crack. I can't wait for more!
I love this series! Who can't get enough of the Lion and the Mouse? Kaz is the quintessential badass, scary Russian mafia dude. Emily has a particular set of skills that revolve around knives and Tinder and bodies ( but I digress...). Anyway, the Lion and the Mouse wreak havoc across Europe, annihilating their enemies and trying to figure out who keeps gifting them monkey heads (the nerve!!!) in their bedroom! Oh, and can there possibly be a novella or two about the adventures of Maxwell? He is funny as he...ck!!!
Lirdcthese book keep getting better and better! Kaz and Emily are loves for me. Kenya Wright does an amazing job continuing this saga with twits and plot lines that was a thread woven several books ago. Get the whole series and buckle up! This is a ride you won't regret taking 🤗
He would “destroy the world” - threaten, harm, or hurt her in any way and there will be hell to pay. Fresh off of the devastation that was France and the loss that came with it, the lion and the mouse must push through their grief, guilt, rage and despair. They suffered a great loss and are trying to deal with it in their own separate ways. The lion wants to blow up France regardless of the casualties and blowback because this is war and the French pansies brought it on themselves and their country. The mouse is trying to heal physically, mentally and emotionally but has guilt about her actions that may have caused it to happen. She just wants to be held by Kaz but instead she has to get out of bed to prevent a war brought on by her emotionally unstable man. They love each other to distraction, but there’s more distraction going on than they realize. The French, the mutilated animals, and more have thrown their attention in different directions and moved their focus. Who profits the most from all of this? Definitely not them. Many things happen in this book that kept me on the edge of my seat! The disloyalty and betrayal is rampant. Who do they trust? Their love is beautiful, but will their endure? There’s danger at every turn, but are they prepared? Excellent read!
I’m seriously having a hard time thinking what aspect I wanted to write about in my review. So I’m going to just say. Freaking Wow!! This book was thrilling, sad, scary and a bunch of other emotions wrapped in it. Kaz and Em, I loved the both of you from the first time I read about you. Your passion and badness is power couple goals. Max, Boris and Blue, I really enjoyed your loyalty towards Kaz and Em
Not forgetting that my other favorite Jean-Pierre was quite frequent in this book. I felt that mentioning the French really sweetened the story even more. Now I’m just not here for Kaz and JP (lol) fighting each other. They are my favorite and I can’t wait to see how they’ll become acquaintances. I’m not a believer in fortune telling but my gosh was I rooting for Kaz and Em to not forget the words of Baba and to apply it in their situation. Like everyone else I was sadden by who the traitor was and Im anticipating the punishment that person would receive.
All in all, KW wrote another epic book about the Lion and the mouse and I’m here to see how their story concludes. I can’t wait for book 6
So... I was hoping that this book would answer my outstanding questions. I got some answers, but now I have more questions. I love Kaz and Emily and I am excited about what the future will bring for them. Pavel, why??? I hope there is a way out of this for him. I have tons more to ramble about, but I can't wait for the next book!
Another great read! I forgive you for the 2 that were almost exactly alike and even for squeezing in one more book. Really like this couple. Scream page turner.
I am enjoying this series with Kazimir the Lion and Emily the Mouse. This book has lots of twists and turns as they try to solve the mystery of the dead monkeys in the bedroom. Jean-Pierre returns with a surprise deal and traitors are coming out of the woodwork. Through all of this the Mouse rides her mighty Lion with her head held high.
There are too many moments when Emily pushes too hard for her independence and always wants to do things her way even if it puts her life in danger. Too many moments she would challenge Kazimir acting like a spoiled brat wanting to get her way. It made her seem petty and him seem weak. It didn't help that the female narrator has this high pitched, sing-song voice that makes Emily sound like a winey spoiled brat.
Overall, I am enjoying this series BUT, if I were to repeat, I would read the books instead of listening to the audible. Even though this book has a different female narrator than the other awful one, this female narrator is just as awful as the other one.
Here we have Emily who is leaving Kazimir because she did not get her way!!! WTF and if he doesn't let her go she will shoot her way out! Come on.......
And what does Kazimir do....................he gives in and once again he looks weak. How can you go from bombing up shopping centers to saying okay I will stop now?. Where is your follow through and your viciousness
So I stop reading here at page 80, I need time to get over my mad before I maybe finish this book.
So after reading Sonata, I decided to go back and finish Dirty Passions(I was over my mad).
Surprisingly, this book picked up and I found myself enjoying it. I understood Emily's actions better.
It was nice seeing that Kaz became the badass that we are told he is.
I am liking the progression of their relationship.
Oh this was rough. I started reading before the audiobook was available because I felt like I couldn't wait. Turns out I couldn't get through it without the audiobook. so much unnecessary repeated dialogue. I love Kaz and Emily, I want to know the end of their story.. I was really hoping this would be the last book
I read this book because I'm a fan of Kaz and Emily and really want to see some progress so can book 6 not be a drag? Some parts felt monotonous but yea... Not quitting yet so expecting a bit more kicks for readership.
The Dirty Series Okay, okay, okay. Where does one begin? The Dirty series has turned me into a stalker. Kenya Wrights, ma'am I looove your work.
The fact that I skipped the first week of school just so I could finish the series, says a lot. Kazimir, ugh! I hate that I can't pronounce his name. Emily, I love you too baby. If anything, I love both these characters, I've learnt quiet a number of things from their love story, I just pray that's not how it ends. One of my favorite parts, are definitely when Emily starts referring to Kaz as 'Baby'. That simple word had me wishing I could easily allow my tongue to call someone's son 'baby'. I could also relate to Em with the wigs personalities, lol. Her background story... saddens and angers me but moreso over it left me drowning my thoughts in "somethings happen for a reason". Now, I know it might sound crazy, matter of fact it's crazy that i think Maxwell's father raping her happened for a reason. However, everything that happened led to her being with Kaz, her Lev and that for me is "there's light at the end of the tunnel". I love how overly protective they are of each other, although I could argue there's a receptive and ... Kazimir's way of protecting his Mysh is dictatorship and Emily's way is "if i was one of your men". The humor in it is that they're both getting it wrong. He/she won't listen but they admit and learn. The exotic scene's!! Yall are lying!! The exotic scene's had me writting down a list of things I want and I'm going to do in the next year 1. Take my blogging seriously 2. Learn basic Russian language and learn about the country. 3. Graduate. Russia will definitely be the second country I visit after my Africa tour. I'm a sucker for happy endings and the Lev and his Mysh just don't make me want to rush to the end. I love Maxwell! I love Misha's possessiveness, it's a bit creepy at first but the end result make up for his "obsession". Ugh!! If I go on I might not end. The series is amazing, honestly. Very few mistakes that could've been avoided and they take nothing away from the story/book. Recommended!!

OMG I love the Mouse and Lion series don't get me wrong this isn't the name of this story or the series it's a nickname for the two main characters this story number five. Now have you ever been so into a story that nothing else matters at the time? That is what this series does to me I'm in a trance. This story is linked to a series of nine stories and they are all so multi dimensional as life is. Dirty Passions covers another adventure of the Loin and his mouse, I love these stories because there's self-discovery, chemistry, love and sizzling passion. I know this sounds like I'm repeating myself but chemistry is friendship and passion is lust and the rest explains themselves but you need them all for me love the story and so much more, this is all written in a way that is realistic and relatable. Emily is one woman you don't mess with or her Loin she has her own people and is very protective of both. Kazimir is the king of the Brotherhood but he's obsessive and LOVE his mouse that he would destroy a country, state or city and even take a bullet to the heart for now that's LOVE. In this journey they have to find and solve a problem that will make them both safe, while starting a adventure to heal from the trauma and protect a new life from it all. Yeah its steeped in lessons and opening yourself to give trust to the one love you deserve. WOW this is a read you won’t be able to put your reader down. I know I love a book when I can’t stop thinking or telling everyone about it. I definitely feel this way about the Lion and mouse series What could have been a dark romance this becomes something richer with each moment Kenya Wright adds more to this insightful and humorous story. I love every character in this story, including the villains, which come alive with every chapter. This book is a feast for the senses along with your heart. It gave me such amazing experience I didn’t want it to end. This I highly recommend and the series, I'm so excited for the next story!!!
Dirty Passion picks up immediately where Dirty Minds ended. Kazimir is crazier than ever. People that are supposed to be loyal to him are still stabbing him in the back. I mean seriously hasn’t he suffered enough? First he’s betrayed by his brother Sasha then his BFF Luka and then Jean-Pierre’s “soft” kidnapping of Emily has taken this psychopath to the next level. Emily knows she’s the only person who can tame the lion before he destroys Paris and everyone in its vicinity. Kenya does an excellent job navigating you through this story. I love how the characters from The Lion and Mouse Series and The Butcher and Violinist intertwine through her books. A lot of authors try to do this and fail miserably, but Kenya doesn’t. Anyone picking up either series for the first time can start with either series first and will not be confused (I wasn’t). I read The Butcher and Violinist first. I had no idea they intertwined with The Lion and the Mouse until the very end of the book.
This book brings back all your favorite characters: Misha and Ava – So cute together. I hope we see more of them in another book. Valentina – That crazy bitch needs to talk about her baby daddy. Maxwell – Still smoking his life away. He and Valentina need to figure it out. Giorgio – Still cleaning and killing King David and Blue – I hope they end up together Louis – He is my favorite. A crazy hacker with a rocket launcher. Kenya I loved this book and I can’t wait to read the next installment. Let’s get Jean-Pierre and Kazimir kids married LOL.

"Dirty Passions: An Interracial Russian Mafia Romance" by Kenya Wright
My Speculation:
Kenya Wright knows how to write books that keep you turning the pages as she did for 'Dirty Passions' featuring Kazimir and Emily, also known as 'the Lion and the Mouse.' Be ready for lots going on in this journey from 'murder, kidnapping, violence, humor, betrayal' and oh my goodness, some awesome loving. However, this is not for a read for the faint of heart reader. I will say that there are some very intriguing secondary characters that will keep your interest in all of the shenanigans that will be going on in this story. What will the future be for these two main characters? Will, there be a wedding soon, and what will happen to Pavel? I am glad there will be another series, so maybe some more questions will be answered in the storyline of Book 6.
