Summary:The story starts when Dr. Nipun and Dr. Nishtha join Nirog Hospital for their MS course under Dr. Ujjwal. Nipun is a prankster and Nistha is someone we can call beauty with brain. Dr. Ujjwal is the god of surgery with an attractive record with ladies. How they both survive in Nirog Hospital and what all things happen after that is the main story.
There are so many sub plots into the story but I won't reveal them because they need to be read!

My review: I am always Very fascinated about doctors. Their white coat always attracts me. The medico serials also increased my curiosity for them. So it's very obvious that when I got this book i became very excited. There are some things that I would like to mention-
1) This book is not one of those medico melodramas where the main story is about some handsome hunk hero and gorgeous heroine. I loved the fact that author has portrayed every bit of the story in a very realistic way. Hats off to him for that!
2) The writing style is pretty simple and it never goes out of the pace.
3) It is a light humor fiction and I liked the fact that author has kept it in that way only. I loved those parts where everyone planned Dr. Ujjwal's relationship (to save them from Overstress) , Ridhi-Nipun's spoilt date, Dr. Mayur's evil dramas, Dr. Anuryp's hilarious incidents.

Those things that I think need attention are-
1) The cover should have been more attractive.
2) I felt Nipun's character to be little whimsical. I got confused that whom did he actually like.

Recommendation:I must say this one is a must read for every one because it really gives you a nice time while reading. You will laugh continuously while some parts will force you to think deeply.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance! by Jas Kohli drove my interest with its blurb and the cover grabbed my attention. The book focusses on the lives of resident doctors and the lives of the doctors, in general. It traces the responsibility that lays on their shoulders, their abrupt schedules, their unpredictable routine, etc. It also sheds some light on how the doctors are held culpable for anything that goes during the treatment and how the petty politics do not leave even the most coveted career untouched!

In a humorous tone, the author makes his way through the nitty-gritties of the medical profession. There’s so much of love that it makes me sick. The character of Dr. Ujjwal thoroughly annoyed me. Given the fact that he’s a philanderer, his acts are glorified in the book with so much ardor that I could not help but feel terrible. Although he’s adept at his job but his casanova image left me bewildered. If this thing is true, I am gonna be at edges while dealing with the doctors! The disappointing characters and their poor stories made me feel sad than happy.

Nipun is the protagonist of this story which does not really seem to be a story. His failed attempts bringing humor to the table are disappointing and his ever-changing transitions from one love interest to another were too much to my chagrin. The book might count as an entertaining read for a good writing style and quite unfitting ‘humorous’ narrative but I didn’t find anything amusing about reading it.

Book Name : Lights! Scalpel! Romance!
Author: @authorjaskohli
Publication : @rupa_publications

This is a story about Surgeon's life at Nirog Hospital.

Title is perfectly goes with story.
Cover could have been much better.
Language is easy.
Pace is well maintained throughout the story.

Characters : Dr. Ujjwal, Dr. Anuroop, Nipun & Nishtha are main characters of the story.

It seems that author had gathered all experiences from medical field & wave a story around these main characters. Every shade of a doctors life is well portrayed.

Once started reading it's unputdownable.
.
✳️Author presented the serious topics very gently with a comedy touch.

I really enjoyed the book. Author portrayed typical life of resident doctors & surgeon, their duties, their mistakes, their learning process, hospital staff & their relationship etc.

Throughout the book many cases of patients discussed, as I'm from the same field I easily correlate them with reality. No any exaggeration, everything is very real.

He shared both good & bad experiences of doctors life. Like when they admire as a God & when they humiliated as a devil.

Not every doctor is God, Not every doctor is evil There are some exceptions too... Afterwards they are also humanbeing like others.
Don't judge everyone through the same frame. . .

He shares some good & some bad truth of medical field. Yes there are some bad things happened in this field too. These people not deserve to be a part of this field. Also talks about quack doctors, who ruin reputation of all doctors. .

This book is also shows how difficult for doctor to keep his personal life seperate from work. Almost impossible b'coz family life is always on second number for true & dedicated doctor.

This book makes happy to all Medico reader which reminds them all their college days & also good for readers from other field as it help them to know about doctors life without any filter.

Definitely recommended for everyone.

Cover has been designed very beautifully. The torquoise blue background is so appealing to the eyes. This is one of the very reason why I decided to pick this book. Title is unique, sounds interesting & I'm a reader who loves to read books from romance genre. Hence, the reason why I wanted to give this book a chance. However, in the end I got only sheer disappointment as an outcome.

Lemme get straight to the drawbacks concerning this book, one of them being the lack of a strong storyline, which is the basic foundation of any proper novel. Though the courageous attempt made by the author to make the story look more appealing through doctors & good characterisation, but, he ended up failing miserably in this regard.

I wished there could've been more light thrown to the concept extrapolated here, as the context relates to medical profession & professionals. But instead, it just focuses on a mere love story which we often come across in many books from romance genre & also we usually find them in typical bollywood parody movies & serials.

The plot & story itself felt discouraging as there're situations where women are labelled as puppets or mere source of entertainment. Also, affairs at workplace act as a source of harassment. The overextensive justication of the male protagonist which has been hidden very effectively highlights male chauvinism, toxic masculine behaviour, perverted idealism - doesn't fit well with me.

I was a medical student once. So I felt this book could've been considerably better.
There're also usage of colloquial hindi slangs which maybe inappropriate for young readers. There's also few grammatical errors. So, humourous attempts in the name of poor jokes addes upto another failure. Overall, the book felt cringy. Not enjoyable in the least. Characterisation is poor. Climax is not justifying either. Not worth recommending.

Book: Lights! Scalpel! Romance
Author: Jas Kohli
.
.
This book follows Dr. Nipun and Dr. Nishtha. The story is based in Nirog Hospital. Nipun and Nishtha join the hospital and work under Dr. Ujjwal. Nipun is a prankster and smart witted guy, while Nishtha is a driven and determined girl. They are under the guidance of the best surgeon, Dr. Ujjwal, who is a charmer himself.
This book is a fresh wave in the genre of remands for me. We all have seen serials like ‘Dil mil gye’ and fancied this type of love. This book refreshed that memory for me. The humour in the story is subtle and great. The book fun parts as in the lives of doctors, but with the hardship they have to endure. The book feels realistic, which makes each aspect of the book more likeable. No one likes over dramatic romances, specially if it is related with the doctors. All the characters are introduced and developed throughout the story in an adequate manner. The medical terms used can throw a non medical reader off a little. Nipun’s character could have been a little more decisive. The writing is good. The narration is well done. I really liked the cover as it shows the aspects of the story like romance, hospital and humour. The title is unique and amusing. The process of the romance building was thrilling and entertaining till the end.
Overall, I rated this book a 3.5/5 🌟

We have all gone to see a doctor some time or the other. What happens behind the scene has always interested us and there is a dearth of TV shows and movies made that show the other side of a doctor’s life.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance! is a witty take on the subject of doctors. Set in the Nirog Hospital in New Delhi, we are introduced to Nipun, a prankster, who is pursuing his Masters of Surgery there, and Nishtha, who is a peer of Nipun in the same course. They are put under the tutelage of Dr. Ujjwal who is a brilliant doctor, but a serial womanizer and the alfa-male of the hospital. Apart from these 3, we meet Dr. Anuroop aka Candy, who is a smooth operator. Put these people in an enclosed environment under stress of being a doctor and what happens next is a roller coaster of emotions, laughter and a pinch of romance. As the book progresses, we are also introduced to Ridhi & Mayur, who are a year junior to Nipun & Nishtha, and Ayana, a friend of Dr. Ujjwal’s cousin. With romantic relationships getting made, getting broken, emergency patient calls and high-pressure situations, we see Nipun, Nishtha, Ridhi & Dr. Ujjwal battling emotions and juggling work and personal life, leading to freaky situations.

The plot of the book is quite straightforward and simple. The setting of the book is described in great detail and one can imagine the scenes as they unfold. The author has kept the complications in the plot to a minimum so that the actual humour of the plot comes out. He has created the scenes beautifully and the transitions are seamless. Be it the witty punchlines by Nipun, or the denials by Nishtha, none of them seem unreal and can be related to very easily. The one-liners at the beginning of each chapter are an interesting addition to the book. The ending of the book is not so conventional and specially the closing line of the book deserves a very special mention.

The characters in the book are wonderful and almost realistic. Be it the sarcastic Nipun, or the wary Nishtha, each of the character has a characteristic flavor and each of them do their role very nicely. The myriad of patients with different ailments create the perfect scenario for the flavor of the characters to come out. Being a doctor himself, he has used his trump card to his advantage and used medical terms liberally, sometimes as puns, which give it a distinct touch.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance! cuts away a 4/5 from my rating board.

A big thank you to Rupa Publications for sending over a copy of this book!

The world is no stranger to medical rom-coms despite us having a rather rigid perspective when it comes to doctors. While over in America, 'Scrubs' was and still is a classic, India had 'Sanjeevani' and 'Dill Mill Gaye', with the former considered to be more popular. But we hardly have had any books that talked about the light-hearted shenanigans that go on in doctors’ lives.

Jas Kohli’s 'Lights! Scalpel! Romance!' talks about Nipun and Nishtha, two resident doctors who join Nirog Hospital with the intention of making a difference. Nipun is a prankster while Nishtha is a grounded yet cheery woman who is dexterous in whatever she does. Their life under the chief, Dr. Ujjwal, their interaction with the other resident doctors, how they study for their MS exams, how they have fun while doing their job forms the entire story.

I enjoyed reading 'Lights! Scalpel! Romance!' because of how devoid of negativity it was. Quite a few things happen, but they are resolved quickly without being too abrupt. The pranks, the romances, the medical procedures, the doctor’s way of thinking, mentorship, mentee life, dealing with the stress of being a doctor – everything is conveyed despite being lighthearted. And that’s what makes a book so interesting!

The biggest thing about this book that I liked was how it concentrates equally on the lives of the doctors inside and outside the hospital. I’ve always been in awe of doctors and the amount of grit that is required to become a doctor. So reading about them as people who are prone to cultivating hobbies and with the ability to stay afloat rather than going to pieces in a back room was a great read.

Like so many other books, there were a couple of things that grated on my nerves in this one. The prose is good but not great. Many times, I felt that it was trying to be flowery and complicated, using big words, when smaller, easier words would have sufficed, made it into a better read, even. I also felt that there wasn’t much of a story to it, just a plateau that went on and on. It could have done with some drama to it to add a bit of a masala.

But all in all, 'Lights! Scalpel! Romance!' is an enjoyable read that you can pick up and breeze through in a few hours tops. It’s a one-time read, but enjoyable. So that’s a plus.

Lights, Scalpel and Romance is fiction book covering unique lives of surgeons at Operations Theater in hospital. Book inter-alia shows weird funny and scary incidents in the life of Dr. Nipun, Dr. Ujjwal and Dr. Anuroop. Book portrays enough romance and feelings of love. Special thing of the book is the humour it presents before the readers.

Things I liked were-
1. Language of the book was mediocre except terms used for surgery and diseases. Good use of vocabulary were quite visible.
2. Cover of the book was lovely. However, it slightly deviates from the description of characters made in the book.
3. Book has good sense of humour. It seems that even for a small venture, author has worked upon to add humour.
4. There were number of Characters in the book and mostly were shown fairly. Dr. Nipun and Ujjwal were the most emphasised.
5. Titles of the book and each chapter were the most beautiful thing about the book which were perfectly framed.
6. Assorted kind of diseases were narrated in the book which truly reflects hardwork of author and makes a reader lucky enough for being not trapped in any of those.
7. Book was forwarding in a unique style and it was a pleasant read.

There is nothing to mention on dislike part except of some instances where performance of surgery was described a little detailed which could be kept shorter.

Overall book is a good humorous read and recommend for fiction lovers.

BLURB-
The story begins with Dr Nipun and Dr Nistha who have joined Nirog Hospital to pursue their MS course under Dr Ujjwal who is considered the God of Surgery. The story follows their journey through the years, struggling to maintain professional and personal life. Baring the politics in the hospital, the hardships and the little joys of being a surgeon. Doctors have said to have little time for love, this story proves different. Join Nipun in his conquest for love. Who will be his life partner? Will he ever find love?
Opinion-
🌸Humour is infused in each chapter making it a light fun read.
🌸 The cover is apt and we'll justified. The title is intriguing.
🌸 Characterization is brilliant. Dr Ujjwal is portrayed as a famous surgeon who is sort of a Casanova. Nipun is following his footsteps but not as lucky in the looks department, he isn't fawned upon. He is juggling to make any of the three ladies he can his beloved. Nistha is beauty with brains. She is determined not to let her gender decide her success. Well sketched and Well developed.
🌸 The story is narrated flawlessly keeping in mind the need to be realistic but still hilarious. The language is pretty simple with some Indian jargon in between. Adequate medical terms were used.
🌸 The writing style is lucid, keeping the story pretty smooth. Overall, an amusing read.

Name of the book - Lights ! Scalpel ! Romance !
Author's name - Jas Kohli
Rating - 5✨/5
.
💉Doctors - Medical profession is often looked upon as a very respectable one, and why not? It takes a lot of efforts to reach that position where you are the only hope between a life and a death situation.
💉Review - The story starts with the introduction of the newly joined doctors Dr. Nipun and Dr. Nistha for a MS course under seniour doctor Ujjwal of Nirog Hospital, who is believed to be one of the finest doctor of the hospital.
💉This story talks about the hardships in a doctors life, their journey of struggle working as interns in the hospital and also the little personal space for serving the love life of these doctors.
💉Doctors life is always seen as a struggle, perfused with seriousness and lame schedules but this story presents a complete different insight of the doctors life which gives this story a breezy vibes, this story is pervaded with elements of humour and funmaking the story a light read and not a stressed one.
💉The cover and the title of the book is quite suitable for the plot.
💉The language used in the story is lucid with a streamlined writing style.
💉Characterisation of the main characters are done very provocatively which provides a great depth to the story.
💉I just enjoyed reading the book thoroughly with an utmost level of excitement, and also recommend you all to read this book, as it presents the infusion of humour with seriousness at its best level.

It’s difficult at which point I should start the review. As we can guess from the title, the book is based on hospital or especially we can say doctor’s romance. Dr. Nipun joined as surgery resident in Nirog hospital under Dr. Ujjwal. The story starts from the joining day of resident doctors, when someone called Nipun from his nickname and he found his batchmate Shishir. From that the perfect medical especially residency life has been described. My brother is doing MS surgery and I myself belong to medical profession. So I can say that everything are more or less exact. The toughest thing to write novel about medical field is the description of medical terminologies as it’s different from routine English and it’s tough for normal people. So every time I read the book based on doctors, I have same complaints but this is different. Terminologies are explained in such a way that everyone can understand and still book is interesting. The book is definitely a light read but I want to convey an important message through this that everything described are more or less same like duty hours, stress, expenses etc. so nowadays the violence towards the medical professional has been a huge issue. So read this book and know what all things they go through to become a doctor. That will help you to understand that value. Overall I liked the plot, it’s a light read, written in a language that everyone can enjoy reading it. Overall good one.

My Take:

Humor and medical background is something I haven't read or thought of. Many sitcoms are made using the doctors, interns which starts off as a light take and then turn into something else.  Here the authors attempt to keep the book light and breezy read is commendable.

Nipun an intern joins the MS course under Dr Ujjwal who is almost perfect surgeon who is looked upon always. I loved his introduction scene where he falls on a patient. The character is developed nicely with humor in his personality. Nishita is beauty with brains and ambitious. A story that talks about the journey of interns and transformation into Doctors.  The book is a fun take on the lives of the doctors and hospitals. The anecdotes the author shares are believable. Also a take on the famous doctors unreadable handwriting makes a connect with readers.

The writing is smooth and goes with the flow. The lives of the doctors are highlighted nicely with a lace of humor which helps the readers easily relate to the characters and situations. The medical terms used do sound Greek but that doesn't stop from enjoying the read. The fact that doctors too are humans and have their own challenges and feelings to deal with cuts the deal.

I would rate this 4/5 . A great stress buster read.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance! is a sweet example of a love story which supports the in general, belief that doctors only love/marry doctors; since most of their time is spent in company of, well, other doctors. ⁣

The plot is about Nipun, a young doctor studying to become a surgeon and an avid bird watcher. It starts with his first day in a new hospital as a doctor and the storyline follows his love life, work environment and other aspects of being a doctor as well as a nature lover.⁣

The writing style was good, perfectly flowing and without any grammatical errors. In some of the places, few hindi sayings have been translated quite literally - word to word, in English. In one or two places, I found that the literal translations provided a perspective about how exactly our culture works but otherwise I didn't find that fun at all, since I feel that it's the feelings that should be translated, too, not just the exact words. ⁣

An attempt at humor has been made in this book which didn't really workout for me every time but that might be just me. ⁣

The characters were nice and fun to read about. Especially, Candy, a junior surgeon who dreams to replace the current Head of department, Dr. Ujjwal and causes blunders on the way.⁣

Overall, it was a fun one time read.

The one word I'm gonna give this book for its review is "Amusing"
Readers let me tell you that this book makes you feel so light-hearted that you cannot complain about anything else which the book is not covering.
It is a romance story at its core but still, I feel the lack of that Love story part (This is not a complain or down point at all).
And I liked the way the author has developed this genre in such a wonderful way.
After reading this I am searching for more books like this one.
Our protagonist Dr. Nipun and Dr. Nistha are both significant characters and give a balance and focus on the story.
The overall book serves a short contemporary read which though belongs to that "Hospital plot" but revolves around the well-developed scenes.
Well, the story deals very less with reality in terms of core, yes, of course, the plot build is real but the story not that much.
Apart from the main focus of the story it also represents the relationship from a different perspective as well as the reflection of a Doctor's thought. (Though not too real and serious)
I like the way the whole story is built but, hardly thinks of the impact.
It is a good one time read but not something which "I" will re-read or think.
It is quite a distinctive book and I still want to read more like these.

To start with a person dead afraid of hospitals and doctors has read this book and enjoyed it too the fullest.

This story mainly is about the doctors of Nirog Hospital. It mainly narrates the take of two new intern doctors Dr Nipun and Dr Nishtha joining in the Neurology department under the guidance of eminent surgeon Dr Ujjwal.

Dr Ujjwal - an leading doctor as stated but a failure when it comes to family and relationships. A divorcee father of two sons who have estranged relationship with him and yes a popular womaniser.

Dr Nishtha - a sweet and obedient doctor from a well to do family. She is passionate about her study and work. Friendly will all but slow in deciding about relationships.

Dr Nipun - another what doctor from a middle-class family. He is in search of success, fame and love. He's very frenemy and fast at giving people nicknames. 'Lecherous' this is his nickname back in medical college.

Grab the book to understand the life of doctors and enjoy the stupid fun in it.

One of my friend forced to read this book but loved the style of the story narrated. Interesting title and cover page.

LIGHTS!SCALPEL!ROMANCE
BY- JAS KOHLI
Story revolves mainly around Nipun the prankster and Nishtha the strong headed girl and Dr Ujjwal who is the chief surgeon of Nirog Hospital . there are spicy incidents when all of them meet and many more joining the story .

⭐️Starting from the cover it was distinctive and captivative to the eyes and push to read the blurb of the book.
⭐️With the start of my reading it gradually reminded me of the famous tv shows once back in time which was revolved on the doctor life.
⭐️Being Non doctors i found some terms alien but i still got to learn some too ❤️
⭐️It also much explains about the story of doctor how he can be named up as devil or god just by his/her one deed.
⭐️The plot is well developed and naration is readers friendly.
⭐️It is the humour fiction.Overall all i would say a different story approach and a good read.
⭐️Towards the end i found Nipun character would hve been better .
⭐️The title is quite innovative.
Go for It if you are looking for light read.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance! is a humor packed tale, which basically throws light on the lives of medicos, their ups and downs including various setups made in the surgical units of a hospital. The tale embarks with the protagonist Nipun and Nishtha, who were appended to Nirog Hospital under the guidance of Mr Ujjwal for the completion of their MS.

What I liked -

1. Addition of realistic contents by not compromising with the storyline.

2. There were few terms, though difficult, yet were more than a treat because being a non-medico I may not have come across them.

3. Decently good characterization representing the smart and witty Nipun and the strong headed Nishtha.

4. Sometimes fast paced, at times slow narration with perfectly etched humour.

What I didn't like -

1. The cover - It seemed more like a comic. Addition of something thought provoking could have made it lit.

Conclusion : It's not a vague sketch of life in hospitals but realistic representation. Giving a read, for once at least, isn't a move bad.

Lights! Scalpel! Romance is a light hearten humor book by Jis Kohil.  It brings the up and down faced by medicos. The story is about the lead Nipun and Nishtha placed under the guidance of Dr. Ujjwal of Nirog Hospital for the completion of their MS.

The author has done a great work in character representation.  Nipun is portrayed as a smart and witty guy managing to earn hearts wherever he goes, while Nishta is strong headed new age girl.

The narration of the book is mixed with fast and slow pace, with humor when and where required. This perfect mixture makes the book a roller-coaster ride into doctors’ lives. The story is kept real and at no points feels like dramatised.

The writing style is simple other than a few medical terms here and there (requirement of the story). The part where the doctors are considered next to god and the portions when patients cruse them during failure are penned down well.

The cover is ok but something better could catch more attention. The title is catchy enough for the readers to have a look at it for once.

The book title is funny and the cover of the book is animated which puts the reader a little off. The cover should've been better. The theme of the book is something I liked because the amalgamation of humour in medical profession is difficult to write on. The author has written the book in a good manner. The level of the language of the book is moderate. Almost each line had one word as a substitute for a simple word which put me off. It makes understanding the sentence difficult. I kept looking for a storyline for romance but it was not to be found. The blurb suggests development of romance in the resident doctors life but the book covers the romance of the chief in depth. At the end it felt like the author wanted to finish the book so the end is quite haphazard and quick. Since I'm from the same profession, I loved reading the book. This book throws light on the humourous aspect of the life of the residents which isn't explored by a lot of others. The humour is on point and you will flow through the book.

‘Light! Scalpel! Romance!’ is a fast, funny and really satisfying story about surgeons at Nirog Hospital. The story revolves around Nipun, a mischievous and witty guy and Dr. Ujjwal, the handsome chief and senior surgeon at the hospital.
The author has established the past story of the characters in a precise and entrancing manner. The author is humorous in his attitude towards the hospital theme. He has even mentioned various medical terms and experiences of the doctors.
I couldn’t stop reading it. This is a fascinating and jocular story. The author has presented even the serious situations in a comical way. The writing style is intelligible. Even the cover of the book is itself very intriguing and chucklesome. The language used by the author is uncomplicated.

This story having been written by a doctor takes the reader along with the protagonist, Nipun, on a tour of three years of the MS Surgery programme that Nipun undertakes. He has beautifully highlighted the troubles endured by the postgraduate students to attain the degree and how hard they have to work for it. The characters and the incidents are realistic and being a doctor myself, there were places in the story where I felt, Yes this has happened to many of my friends.
Though the language is simple and the story moves at a steady pace throughout, the author has used some medical terms, but has also explained them. He has used humour and also satire.
In an age when the doctors are abused for no fault of theirs, books like this one may be of help to make the readers aware.
A must read for all doctors.

Written from the pen of a cosmetic surgeon this book comes as a very enjoyable read on the lives of resident doctors on their journey to become Surgeons.

The cover is cute. The blurb is written in a crisp way.

The story is about the journey of Nipun, Nishtha and Rishi through their residency years. As the title suggests the book takes us through their journey in the surgical department, operation theatre and their romantic lives.

The pace of the story is very steady with not much highs and lows. The end of the story comes as a good surprise. The characters are very relatable and relevant with not many extraneous characters.

The things I would have loved to see is a bit more drama and pace in the story. Also the editing could have been tighter.

It's definitely an enjoyable one time read. It gives a glimpse into the lives and struggles of resident doctor in a humorous way.

Doctors save lives, they often forget what life is like so that they can let others have a taste of it.
I have read and watched several books and movies based on Doctors and their day to day life. What a lot of them end up doing is, they try turning it into a fairytale or a tragic tale. There is no in-between.
The author though has done a brilliant job at describing the lifestyle of a doctor, they are active, they are hands-on, they are humans and yet they know how to keep their emotions under control throughout the constant pressure.
Between all this, the hope of Doctor Nipun lies on finding love, will he be successful through it all?
Thank you so much for the review copy!
My take- Its a lovely light read with sugar, spice and scalpels.

Nostalgia. If you are a medical post-graduate, this book will take you back to your residency days and remind you of many similar experiences you went through. If you are about to do PG in medical fields, this book will show you how it's going to be like. And if you are non-medical person, this book will allow to have a glimpse of the world of doctors and the all that goes with it.
Bought this book on a friend's recommendation and really enjoyed it. Jas Kohli has a knack for it. Each chapter has a thought-provoking sentence in italics pertaining to what is in it before the chapter begins. I liked that concept. And there is some wisdom thrown in as well which helps.
It's an easy read with good pace.

Spilling the beans of the world of Surgery in a very informative way hidden behind the fictional story is what kept my mind and heart in the book right from the starting.

The storyline is based on the life of two doctors ( understood easily by cover and title). Dr. Nipun and Dr. Nishtha join Nirog Hospital for their MS course under Dr. Ujjwal. The story is sewed around them. The characters are fun to read.

The flow of the story is very smooth with medium pace and good narrative. The language is lucid and the story has its share of good humor. All of the author's experience in the field, both- good and bad, is put in making this one an amazing piece.

I am a big fan of the show Grey's Anatomy, that was the prime reason why I picked up this book.
Lights! Scalpel! Romance is a story of surgeons from Nirog Hospital and their personal lives.
There are four main characters Nipun and Nithisha who join as interns under the guidance of Dr. Ujjwal and Dr. Anuroop.
The everyday life of a hospital really spikes up the reading experience. Also we get to see the different personalities of the people behind those doctor masks.
There are lotof messages through the story.
The narratives are good, but I wish the plot line could have been better.
The cover and title are impressive and eyecatchy.

Almost felt like reading an Indian version of Grey's Anatomy. Book is about two young doctors who join a prestigious institution for further studies under a famous mentor and how their life intersect and they fight, prank each other and learn to be a doctor, have compassion and be there for each other in the course of their journey.
I wish the author had kept the story more crisp as at places the humour felt forced and the story didn't move forward at all. And I'm not very comfortable reading hinglish slangs in English stories so that didn't work out for me either.
Can be picked up for a quick read!

Light scalpel romance

The cover looks good. And story is quite interesting. It's a story in hospital to be specific surgical unit.

The story is about our Protagonist nipun and nishtha. Both join course of MS and practicing under dr. Ujjwals. He is really good surgeon. (God of surgeon) Anuroop wants to take position of dr. Ujjwals.

On other side nipun wants little bit of love life how he go through all this phases.

The characters are well developed and described. The language is very simple and easy. The storyline is quite good. Book is all about how to balance profession and personal life.

The best thing is humor. Alot of humor make this book interesting.

The cover of the book is very fun and quirky. The book is about two young doctors Nipun and Nishtha. The story revolves around their personal and professional lives. The characters are well developed and describe. The writing style of the author is good. The plot is very unique and interesting. The book is different and very compelling, an awesome combination of romance and doctor's life. While an easy read, the story had some weight to it. If you're looking for something very easy and enjoyable to read check this book out.
