Sheyna Namear believes she has been left to fend for herself on the streets of the notoriously corrupt city of Symbor. She has very little memory of her life prior, and she is forced to steal what she can to survive. When her natural ability to enchant everyday items eventually catches the eye of a powerful magic wielder, Sheyna is taken into the woman’s tower as an apprentice. But something is not quite right. Sheyna constantly feels like she is being watched, her roommate hates her, and a mysterious shadow hides in the darkness outside her window.
Sheyna is a young girl about 16 whose memory was erased, so she would not know whom she truly was. Her memory was erased when she was very young and now that she is older she is considered a street rat. She steals what food she can others tend to be nice and help her when they can. Sheyna already wields some magic but she has no idea how powerful she truly is until she is forced to use it. By accident she is discovered by one of the women in the tower and is forced into a position she is not sure she really wants but when her worse enemy becomes her best friend the journey will just begin. Great read for all ages. I cannot wait to read further into this story and the woman that will one day be called by “Lady Shay”
I completely rewrote the novella Wielder: Apprentice into this novel. The old 2007 paperback is no longer available. This is the new version that ties in with the Sacred Land Saga. It's the beginning of the story of Lady Shey. The series will wrap up with the third book and the War of the Oracle (the war that created The Sacred Land) I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!
