Rising Dragons #9

Dragon's Melody: A Rising Dragon Novel

Rate this book
Melody Proust is in love with her boss, his inhuman good looks and irresistible sex appeal making it hard for her to do her job. Black dragon Kol Magnus has no interest in his sweet, blonde personal assistant. But Melody is too dear a bonded human to foist off on just any other dragon. He needs one who is worthy of mating a human woman as special as Melody.

Melody doesn't even know dragons exist, but she knows there's something special about the pair of men to whose "employ" her boss transfers her. The gorgeous aloof Skye intrigues her, her interest piqued after the most confoundingly erotic interview of her life. Skye's sweet, blond assistant, Garen, is every bit as enticing as his boss. He's even more inhumanly gorgeous and just as hungry for what Melody has to offer. And she's supposed to work for these two?

Within the first week, everything goes south when she finds herself falling for both elusive men and their otherworldly charms. In spite of the unconventionally intimate position she now holds, Melody never considered the possibility of love. She rejected romance for most of her life because love was her enemy. Love left her mother wanting and left Melody unwilling to risk her heart lest she be forced to endure the same pain.

The realization that she has to choose between two men she loves beyond all understanding sends her running scared. She refuses to choose, but the only other option is to lose them both and risk even worse heartbreak without ever learning what they really are. Will she follow her heart or lose it all?

Garen and Skye chase her, too consumed by love to do anything but compromise for Melody's sake. despite loving each other for centuries, the pair of dragon shifters forsake their own complicated romance in Melody's favor, because two dragons are forbidden from sharing a single human mate, but Melody is the one who is burdened with the final choice.

Once in their embrace, Melody makes her choice - the choice fate intended all along.

Ophelia Bell is the author of the super steamy Sleeping Dragons series. Ophelia loves hot alpha heroes, especially if they’re dragons, but believes the world needs more alpha heroines, so has made it her mission to make that happen. Ophelia grew up on a rural farm in North Carolina and now lives in Los Angeles with her sexy tattooed alpha husband and five-and-a-half attention-whoring cats (one of them is exceptionally large and might actually be a dragon in disguise).

This follows the rising dragons books as one of side story characters Melody (who had a 3 way with Hallie and the shadow dragon on a plane- yes that one!) is affected by the tryst and wants to continue relationship but is denied as the couple are monogamous after Hallie becomes pregnant. Apparently she’s had history with dragons as blessed by her former step father who was secretly a dragon. She is given to another dragon who is in love with another male dragon to try and break the bond- and all sorts of drama happens. The ending was good, lots of spice a bit much though but still good!

**** 4.5 HIGH FLYING STARS ****

description

I have not read any of the Sleeping Dragons or the Rising Dragons series. In fact, this was the first book by Ophelia Bell that I've read.

Wow... I was not disappointed. Move over vampires... sexy dragons are in the house!

The beginning was a little confusing for me. I was pretty much asking 'what the F are you talking about' and 'what the F does that word mean'... but I caught on quickly. It wasn't rocket science. And the story does explain things for readers that haven't read any of Ophelia's prior works.

This book really pulls at your heartstrings. Melody falls in love with both Skye and Garen, but dragon laws forbids her to be with both of them. She has to make a decision....

I instantly fell in love with both male dragons. They were so different, but they were both considerate and passionate lovers. The love making was written so well. But if you are uncomfortable with menage stories, you should probably stray away from this one.

Rating: ❤️❤️❤️.5
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Narrator Performance: Female: 🎧🎧🎧🎧 Male: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

Dragon's Melody was my first experience with Ophelia Bell's work and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed it. Which is a bit weird as I found more faults with it than positives. I think it's because those positives shown so much that they completely overshadowed the negatives. Here's my breakdown.

Negatives
• Dragon's Melody is supposed to be a standalone. It's not IMO. To me it seemed as if there was information about dragon society that was missing. That the backstory was incomplete. Especially when it comes to the sleep/hibernation thing. If you look at Bell's other work you'll see that she has a series for both sleeping and rising dragons [This book is a standalone in the Rising series if I'm reading the book list located at the back correctly]. It seems as if the author's dragon books take place in the same universe but if this book was a complete standalone some of the mythology should have been repeated.

• This may seem anal but the book title really bugs me. "Dragon's" is singular possessive so which dragon does Melody belong to? This is a M/F/M novel so singular possessive just doesn't seem right to me.

• The book was too long and dragged at some points.

• There's a continuity issue with the color of Melody's hair. Sometimes it was blond and others it was strawberry blond.

• Because of KU whispersync I was able to scan the book to highlight things and whatnot. An editing issue that jumped out at me was blond/blonde. Both are used frequently throughout the book. Stick to one spelling of the word. That type of thing irks me.

• Melody was blessed while still in utero. However it wasn't like the type of spiritual blessing that you would get from a priest. This confused me because the blessing was sometimes referred to as having some sort of value like how big the blessing was or what type it was.

• There was a bestiality scene.

Positives
• Although this was a M/F/M book there were two F/M/F scenes. They weren't graphic though which I appreciated since I'm not supper into reading/listening to that genre. I do recognize the need for the scenes though. They where a necessity of the dragon way and they helped build the story.

• I loved the reason why Melody ran away. It was very giving and showed how much she recognized the bond between her dragons. It also took strength in character.

• The sex! OMG was it fabulous. I've long been aware that I tend to disassociate myself from a book a bit when I listen to it. Things simply aren't as intense when compared with actually reading something. It was soooo not the case with this book. Bell's writing is both erotic and evocative. A lot of times authors write scenes that are erotic as far as the actions that are happening but with this author I was actually able to feel it.

• Being a dad isn't a biological thing but an emotional one. Bell made that quite obvious with her words. That recognition is sometimes denied.

• The way that dragons feed is something that any woman would appreciate 😉 And the way that it was explained to Melody as a child was pretty funny LOL!

So yeah, you can see that I found some things that I didn't like about the book but they DO NOT deter me from reading/listening to more of Bell's work. In fact, I'm excited at the prospect!

P.S. I would have given this a 4 if it weren't for the bestiality scene.

About The Narrators
Dragon's Melody is narrated by two wonderful narrators. Both had paces that worked well with the text, neither too slow nor too fast. Both gave believable performances acting wise. Out of the two however JF Harding was the one that I liked the most. His voice is super sexy. And he used an accent for Skye which is always a big plus in my book. While Ava Lucas did a great job I feel that she really needed to put more definition into the male characters.

*Contains bestiality, F/M/F, M/M, M/F and M/F/M sex scenes.

Wow! This one of the best PNR erotic menage romances I've read. It's also the first book I've read by Ophelia Bell, but it definitely won't be the last. She manages to check off so many boxes, including richly developed characters, a captivating storyline, sex that is integral to the story, an untenable but necessary solution to a problem caused by an archaic legal system, and the ever elusive emotional hook. It appears there is a rich history of this dragon culture available, but I didn't find reading it necessary to enjoy this standalone novel with its hard won HEA.
Melody remembers Alec, her mother's boyfriend, as the only Dad she ever had. But he left them suddenly after a phone call when she was five, telling her mother not to wait for him. Melody always felt there was something different about him, but it wasn't till twenty years later when she went to work for Kol Magnus that she recognized a similar energy. What Kol recognizes in Melody is that she's Blessed, she was touched in the womb by a dragon, giving her their protection. She is also fated to mate with a dragon, But Kol already has a mate, one he's not willing to share, even though Melody has bonded to him. So he begins to look at other options.
Skye, a blue dragon and aristocrat, has to mate with a human to fulfill the final requirements for his inheritance. Coming off a 500 year hibernation, he has managed to avoid emotional entanglements, with the exception of a childhood friend, Garen, a Guardian and large white dragon. By law they can't mate, but they can perform the power transfers necessary to Garen's existence since he hasn't been able to perform with any human females he's met. Then Kol approaches Skye with a offer. A contract is drawn up pending Melody's approval for an exclusive power exchange relationship between Melody and Skye. Garen, as Skye's most trusted friend, is assigned to vet and prepare her for Skye. Garen quickly recognizes she is his mate, but a mating of two males with a human female is also forbidden and severely punished, as in stripped of power and forced into servitude. And when it becomes clear each of them would withdraw to give happiness to the other two, where do they turn?

Another sensual, sexy story by Author Ophelia Bell. Unknown to Melody she is more than she knows. Thrust into a situation, due to her sexual attraction to her boss, she could never have imagined. Attracted to two magnificent men, but belonging to one, she's shown a world of unimaginable but magnificent sex. She is unable to separate her feelings for both of these men, leading her to return home. The men themselves learn to late what they've lost and look for her so she can decide which one she wants. I don't do spoilers and I've already given to much away, all that is left to say is I recommend this story (and all of the Dragon books) to all who love mind blowing multiply partner sex and love, with shifter paranormal beings and humans. The author makes you feel every lickable, thrusting moment.

A MELODY SO SWEET !!!
WOW! Like really, really Wow! I could say wow at least a hundred more times and it still wouldn't be nearly enough to convey how much I loved Ophelia Bell's spellbinding new full-length novel, Dragon's Melody. I began reading Bell's work last year when I read the first book in her Sleeping Dragons series. Now several months later, I have become a loyal fan and have read every single book in her Sleeping Dragons, Rising Dragons and Immortal Dragons Series and I still can't get enough. I have waited patiently for the release of Dragon's Melody and it was well worth the wait. It left me grasping my chest and gasping for air. It literally stole the breath from my lungs. I live in the deep south and my only comparison is walking outside in late summer into a humid 105 degree afternoon and suddenly having your entire body encompassed by a heat so intense, it makes your heart pound and your skin tingle with a feeling so overwhelming, you become dizzy with the effort to just breathe. That's exactly how this book made me feel. And yes, for me, it was truly that powerful. It spirited me away to a world filled with adventure, romance, magic and fantasy. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I sobbed, I felt empathy for the characters along with their pain, and I railed against their injustice and heartache. Once I started this novel, I became so completely engrossed in the story, I couldn't make myself stop reading; I couldn't put it down. I read through the night only knowing that I simply must continue until I discovered the fate of these characters. And what a journey it was! The story is exciting, well developed, well executed, original, imaginative, fast-paced, thrilling, riveting, heartbreaking, heartwarming, romantic, sensual and arousing. And did I mention hot? No? Well, it was sizzling hot! The dialogue is smart, powerful, passionate, well edited, exceptionally well written and flows effortlessly. Yes, the story is compelling and yes, the dialogue is powerful but the characters, well, they are my favorite part of this incredible story. They are also very well developed, captivating, fascinating, intriguing, engaging, endearing and sexy as sin. Oh my! Bell expertly combines these elements into a deliciously seductive and delightfully entertaining paranormal romance. Melody Proust has never had an easy life, far from it. Having experienced heartache and loss at the tender age of five, she has vowed never to love anyone other than her Mother who has also experienced great pain yet still chooses to experience her sorrow by holding on to hope of one day being reunited with the man who simply walked out one fateful night, left them both behind and never returned. The only man she had ever known and loved as a father had deserted them and left she and her mother to fend for themselves in a cruel, lonely world and still, twenty years later, not the first word or communication that he was even alive. Yes, Melody knows heartache only too well. She knows first hand that love only leads to pain and she will never again subject herself to that fate. She is determined to never fall in love nor have any kind of lasting relationship with a man but what Melody doesn't know is that she is Blessed and is destined for far greater things than she could ever have imagined. It only takes one chance meeting with a distressed passenger while working as a stewardess to set fate in motion and place her on the fated path to her destiny. For the past six months she has been working as executive assistant and personal flight attendant to the CEO of Magnus Securities, Kol Magnus. After only one unforgettable encounter with Kol and his wife, Hallie, while on a cross country flight, she has done the unthinkable and become too emotionally involved with her boss and now, her every waking moment is spent longing for his touch. After voicing her feelings to Kol, she's given a choice, an opportunity for a transfer within the company. She's told it is to be a simple interview and employment transfer but it's far from simple and Melody quickly suspects this position is much more than merely a job although it does require a very detailed and exclusive contract. But after meeting her new employer, Skye, and his friend, associate and umm...lover, Garen, she somehow knows her decision will change her life forever and may, very possibly, destroy it and her along with it. But fate and destiny, no matter how intertwined, can sometimes be two separate yet connecting paths. For the first time in her life, Melody suddenly finds herself wishing for a future she would never have chosen for herself and now longs for the love of not one but two enigmatic and charismatic men. And to further complicate an already impossible situation, Melody suspects these men may not even be human. What? Which path will she choose or will she make the ultimate sacrifice and choose neither? How can she follow her heart when she can't make a choice? Will the truth set her free or bind her completely and irrevocably to both men and their secret? Oh my! Her very life may depend on her choice. No spoilers from me but I will say this... Beautiful Melody, a human woman blessed by fate yet cursed by painful memories of her past, destined to love not one but two gorgeous, sexy dragons-check! Charismatic Blue dragon, Skye, trapped by his mother's dying gift, robbed of his inheritance and controlled by ancient dragon law, now faced with solving a life-changing puzzle and an unbearable choice of making the ultimate sacrifice of losing the only two people he has ever loved-check! White Guardian Dragon, Garen, having the inherent nature of putting those he serves and loves first, faces his own plight of a lonely and joyless existence by choosing to give up his only chance of happiness for the sake of Skye and Melody, the two people he loves most in the world-check! Drama, danger, secrets, painful choices and heartbreaking angst-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, forbidden love, sweet romance and exquisitely written sex scenes-you bet! And did I mention a sizzling hot and very erotic menage a trois? Uh...yeah, several as a matter of fact! Oh my glory! That and a whole lot more! If you have ever read any of my reviews, then you already know, reading is a very emotional experience for me and I express my feelings through my heartfelt reviews. If an author can bring me to tears, cause me to sob, break my heart and then miraculously soothe my pain, make me smile, and heal my weary soul with only her words, then that author has done her job exceptionally well and Bell has delivered just that - again! Extremely powerful, deeply compelling, seriously sexy and deliciously entertaining! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
This is a stand alone novel with NO cliffhanger, so enjoy folks!
My Final Rating: FIVE DELIGHTFULLY, HEART-POUNDING STARS *****

Dragon's Melody blew me away. Having never read any of Ophelia Bell's work before I tried to keep an open mind about the book. The first few chapters I thought okay, the usual formula, a woman with hyper sensuality on the look out for someone to scratch her itch. Mediocre, but tolerable, then Skye and Garon meet Melody and wow, I could not make myself put the book down. I began to resent anything that tore me away from the book.

I personally live by the old adage of what goes on behind closed doors is between consenting adults is their business. I do not normally enjoy reading about same sex partner's sexual scenes, but after the first scene I did not care. The open emotions of the three major were raw and real. When the time comes to choose who will be the one to leave and who will stay with Melody will make you cry.

My only warning is that there are numerous graphic and intense. This book is not for the faint of heart.

I'm starting this review at 88% because I'm like "GAHH.. Is is over yet? I can't take anymore!!"
The smut factor in the book is 100000+. I could dig it the majority of this book but the last 8% or so has gone from sexy, to awkward, to strange ummm.. beastiality? (Not even sure if that is spelled right.)

And lets not forget that while I understand that they are super charged dragons, geeze the girl should be dead after that "one day".

When I ran across this book I immediately snatched it up because.. I mean erotica plus dragonmen.. HECK to the YEAH!
But hold the phone. This book was not listed as LGBTQIA I think this is a bit more that "M/M shenanigans" my dear publisher.

As for the characters... Melody comes across like a blonde bimbo and Skye a selfish jerk. How their relationship "develops" the way it does is beyond me, nor is it realistic.
Garen was by far my favorite character in this book. I would have liked this book sooo much better if the author had just let Garen be the choice.

So how did I feel about this book? Meh, this book was ok. Even once I got past the "shenanigans" and speed read through the last 10% , I still don't feel the "oh my gosh, what a great read". I like to get a little more out of a story than I got from this one.

Received a copy from NetGalley for a honest review.

Ok if you want sex and very little storyline this book is for you. There is LOTS of sex in every shape and form: m/m, f/m, m/f/m, oral, anal, and voyeurism. Many, many pages of it. In the first two parts it felt to me that the dragons just used woman. Hey I can't have her I will trade out to you kinda thing. Heck Skye used everyone even his friend. I almost couldn't go on with the book. The premiss that she would sign a contract for sex and get paid for it being warmed up by one guy and screwed by another; just reeks of a high paid whore to be used at a whim. They state they need her essence to survive, but it felt like she was only a means to the end. This concept just repulsed me and I actually wanted to smack Melody. I think women should get all the good sex they want, that is not why I didn't like her. Skye was very unlikable, but I like Garen. Parts one and two were difficult to finish. The third part was the best out of the three. The story started to redeem itself some, but I still could not get on board with it.

WOW! Must read story.,
Awesome to the max. This is a wonderful creations of a story with love and heartbreak happening all at the same time. Melody was given a dragon blessing while still in her mother's womb. But is it a blessing or curse when it makes her want a dragon-man who is already taken. Sent to another of his kind to break the hold only complicates the matter when it's now two men she wants. But the dragon laws forbids two dragon-men to take one human as a mate. Melody refuses to choose between the two of them. Well written and very original story that is extremely entertaining to read.

I really cannot remember when I read this. I know it was sometime in September but for the life of me, I can't remember when. I recieved this in a book subscription I was asked to try when I was blogging as One Curvy Blogger but never got around to reading it.

DRAGON'S MELODY is a yummy full length M/M/F about dragon shifters. It seems to be set in Bell's Rising Dragons world, but not apart of the series. This is my first book by Ophelia Bell, but I will definitely be reading more!

Dragon’s Melody – Ophelia Bell
I love Ophelia Bell’s writing. It’s always fluid and the stories are always so complete. World building, character building and the love that comes in the fantasy worlds she creates. This beautifully crafted story finds our FMC with a choice between tow dragons. How can choose? How can they let her choose… 18+ for steaminess that always wafts off the pages in Ophelia’s books! Loved it! Another five star read.

Dragons will always be your guardians, forever and ever.

Come, Melody. We need you. You are ours. Yes, I am yours, but that means you are mine. I’m afraid to love you because you might leave. Losing you will break me. WOW!! What a ROARSOME Dragon story!! I am completely and utterly in love with Ophelia's Dragons!! I am always amazed when I read an erotic book that has a good storyline to it, but Ophelia's put the others to shame. I am so titillated & fascinated with just how erotic this book is, but it's so much more than 'just' that. (Like that isn't enough! snicker) It has humor - sarcastic, naughty, ironic, etc. – frustration – of the naughty kind as well as what two stubborn male Dragons can bring, intrigue, mystery, heartbreak, happiness, magic, shocking moments, hot moments and more, oh so much more, that are all intertwined into this rich, deep, overpowering, breathtaking storyline that drew me in from the start much the same way that Melody was drawn in! Of course, part of the frustration was on my end! With those two very stubborn Dragons and one equally stubborn Blessed and their constant “sacrifice” and whatnot almost drove me nuts waiting to see if they would break, who would break first and how it was all going to end! So when this was exclaimed it became my next favorite phrase “You found your dragons!” I love that the erotic flavor is a “crazy game of erotic ping pong” classy, sexy, HOT & loving, and even though the "job" that Melody is "interviewing" for is well…different, to say the least, it is never demeaning nor anything she doesn't want to do. Melody was someone that I immediately liked. I admired her for doing everything she felt was necessary to achieve her goals & dreams, including the sacrifices she had made & was willing to make. I loved the characters, how strong & masculine the Dragon men all are, but at the same time able to be these sweet, gentle friends and/or lovers when the need is called for. Add in how amazingly awesome Ophelia's Dragons are with their different histories, laws, rules, magical powers & abilities and you have one exceptionally mind-blowing race of Dragons that you cannot get enough of!! Now this is a tad embarrassing for me to admit, but this is the first full length novel of Ophelia's that I have read, so far, but now that I know what I am missing, the ENTIRE Dragon Library of hers is being slotted into my reading 'schedule' ASAP! I find myself going deeper & deeper into the Dragon Cave (I can't very well call it a rabbit hole, now can I?) with every story of Ophelia's I read, immersing me into a world that I wish with all of my very being was real, well real beyond the pages, of course! proving just how phenomenally talented Ophelia truly is!!

This story is unbelievably fabulous. The story focuses on two absolutely gorgeous, powerful, wealthy, sexy dragon shifters; a sexy, audacious beauty; and how they're lives are forever changed.

Ophelia has pushed the boundaries of imagination with this epic heart-pounding story. With vivid detail she describes every scene leaving you breathless and wanting more.

The characters are impressive and engaging; they have to overcome, fear, anguish, and inner self struggles. The banter between the characters is superb, and the sinful heart-throbbing pulsating romance will leave the reader awe-struck.

I loved this story; it is well written, I shed a few tears, laughed and cheered while enjoying this THRILLING read. {I received a romance arc for an honest review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book, and the author.

Oh, what a delicious dilemma! This book is almost too hot for my tablet! Two strong, virile men and a curvy, delightful armful, what more could you ask for? Let me see, dragons, maybe? I have to admit to having a soft spot in my heart for dragons of all types. This was an absolute delight to read!

I've read some of this series prior to this and would recommend that the first couple be read before this one. It will give a better understanding of some of the background info on dragons.

Must have gotten these free somehow, no way would have gotten them if paying attention. Ophelia Bell wrote this crappy wish they'd let me give a 0 or even - star rating drivel. Evidently her real goal was to have written for the cheesy porn industry back in the 70's, but they wouldn't take her because even for them she had too little actual plot. Animus (Sleeping Dragons Book 1) is neck and neck with the dreck. No plot, no point, waste of time, offense to those who deserve the title writer. The name of the other {probably of many other throw out books that should be considered dog throw up} is Dragon's Melody. Monkey's pounding away on a typewriter would do better, heck monkeys marking on clay tablets would have better results.

I want to gouge my eyes out or wash them with bleach...the end, it couldn't have come soon enough thank gawd for speed reading, I've seen soap operas with less b.s. going on and didn't read 50 Shades for a reason. Want to be able to rate 0 stars and Read but Wished I hadn't. Got the book for free, and it was still too much, considering the huge waste of time. I write better, descriptive reviews than the 'writer' does books.

Book 9 in Rising Dragons series by Ophelia Bell
So many dragons are running and hiding from dragon council because of the old laws but especially with new council and the changes they want to make.
Melody was attracted to Cole straight away but couldn’t figure out why so on a flight Cole offers her a job and she accepts straight away.
Cole knows there something special about melody but can’t offer her more then what they’ve had together.
Melody accepts a job offer from Skye another wealthy business man but this isn’t like a normal job or interview.
The narrator does a fantastic job and I absolutely loved Garen and skye especially with the fact there completely deferent personality.
Love this author and her dragon series but definitely recommend reading from very beginning and ending with my absolute favourite fate’s fools series

I originally put this book down and decided not to finish it. Then I caught a cold and couldn't sleep and picked up right where I left off. Did I find it any better? NO. Somethings changed from my original opinion, but not enough for me to recommend this story.

This story started off with me falling in love with Melody and her "daddy" who at the point I quit, I am not sure what he really was or who (I finished and you find out). They are playing a game of hide and seek with Daddy playing at being a dragon. Melody wants to play the part of the dragon and Daddy has to find a way to tell her about dragons, but not have her inadvertently reveal that knowledge. He gives her a "tattoo" in her two favorite colors, blue and silver. The story is kind of vague about this tattoo and the power it has. Since there isn't a tattoo later, I don't know what to think. All we know is Melody was blessed by a dragon while still in her mother's womb. What does blessed mean? Heck if I know.

Fast forward and Melody is all grown up. She's living in what I assumed is a crappy apartment saving up all her money to take her mother (her favorite person) on a trip around the world. Melody flashes back to a memory of meeting someone on a plane where she is the flight attendant. The woman was visibly nervous and uncomfortable on the plane and Melody comforted her. Afterwards, the woman recommend she apply for a position at Magnus, a security firm. This memory then flows into Melody being a private flight attendant for the company jet. During that flight she is seduced into allowing Kol, the company president and his wife, Hallie, into a three way. Kol only gives her oral pleasure with an amazing tongue. Now Melody can't get Kol or his tongue out of her mind, going as far as to throw herself in a way at him or offer to leave the position.

Flash to Skye who is flying above in his dragon form . He is in need of energy that is mostly plentiful when a woman orgasms. He finds a pair of beauties and fills up his empty well that allows him to hide his dragon form. He doesn't actually do more than oral with them since that seems to fill the well best. Having intercourse shares nectar and binds the human to them, which he doesn't want. When done he calls Garen to him to share the wealth of energy. Garen and Skye are two different breeds of dragon. I never really quite understood this part or what the caste system seemed to be. Anyway, Garen is subservient to Skye, but they have been best friends all of their lives. Skye shares his nectar with Garen. Both men are looking for their mates, which usually is a human female because dragon females are rare and have more complicated pregnancies. Oh, and Garen hasn't been able to share his nectar with human female. He tries, but can never reach orgasm.

So basically Skye needs to find a mate to open a puzzle box his mother left him as his inheritance. It needs to be what his mother would want, which I am not sure how the box would know. Kol is faced with a problem of Melody, who has bonded with him and is blessed. Kol's wife is pregnant and he wants only her. There is another underlying issue going on so Kol suggests Skye take Melody as retribution for the slight.

I don't want to give much more of the story away, just wanted to show just how much detail goes into this story. I haven't even covered half of all the crap you have to know and the crap the author never tells you. I swear this is a series, but it isn't listed that way on Goodreads or Amazon. It had a feel like you should already know a lot before getting here.

If you want sex all the time, then this will do it for you. Garen's job is to "fluff" up Melody for Skye, keeping her horny without release the entire time. Garen desires her. Skye desires her. Dragon males cannot share a mate, instead they need to spread their seed. At this point I can't tell you what actually happens because I just couldn't take all the secrecy that seemed to surround the dragons, but mostly I couldn't take the stupidity of Melody.

Melody...well dragons can breath on you and compel you to do something. I don't the women to do something they don't, but they push them in the direction they want. So Melody is compelled then bonded to a dragon. She seemed to blindly accepts that sex was her job, that being a flight attendant really isn't her thing. The job interview with Skye is him giving her oral and then her signing a contract to be his sex slave even though they deny that. Basically they are grooming her for being Skye's mate and the contract is the probationary period.

So I don't want to harp on what happens. Mostly I felt the story was forced and unnatural in the progression of how I would see it going. Melody was willing to give up her trip with her mom to have sex all the time. There was the problem with sharing dragons, but by now I am just over that problem. Skye is arrogant and egotistical, Melody is a sexual being with very little more to her, Garen was redeemable in he actually is a nice guy in a bad situation.

So I stopped (then came back and finished it). I just couldn't go on any more and I didn't care enough to find out if there was more to this book like a series. It just wasn't working for me and I have other things to read. (Even finishing it I didn't feel any better about it.)

I started this audio book and was not interested but I was busy and couldn’t change the book.
And then… wow… hot. So hot and sexy. I couldn’t stop listening.

Our girl Melody starts our story straddling her boss’s face while his wife mounts him and the 2 women kiss. Like a Triangle of love.
Then the boss decides, this isn’t gonna work out and trades her to another guy, Skye.
Skye is in a relationship with a guy, Garen. But, it is complicated.
This leads to…
…a lot of edging by one guy and then getting done by another. Lots of hot sexy times. Different combinations. I really liked it.
Spices up the over 4000 “virgin hero” books I have. Sometimes you need to read about some guys who know what they are doing.

I especially enjoyed this book. I give it a five star rating. This is a love story that the participants are not allowed to love. Love is always right and must be followed to no matter what the cost. I look forward to more in the series. I highly recommend it to all who love dragon stories. Laws must be changed to accommodate love in all situations. Definitely, a must read. Political manuverings should not stop love. Love must always triumph. Only as love is acknowledged can it's power spread. This is most definitely a series to be followed closely.

Imaginatively delightful!

Bell has created a wondrous world of miraculous dragons and the host of spectacular characters to people it. She has written compelling plots from the very beginning to this book.
You may read this book as a stand a lone book, and have an entertaining and amazing read. But to truly appreciate the depth and Majesty of it, you need to read them all. This is accomplished easier by buying the omnibus editions Sleeping Dragons & Awakening Dragons.

Beautifully Written

A sweet, tender story of a woman's love for 2 dragons. And, of their love for her and each other. Their problem is with the laws of Dragonkind that prohibit such an arrangement. Will the new Council acknowledge their love it will they be in hiding for the rest of their lives?
A beautifully written story by one of the best in the business. From start to finish, you are fully engaged in the story of Molly, Garen, and Skye.

From playing dragons as a child with her father figure to sensing more about people as an adult which got her a job with Kol Magnus.

She had the most awakening flight as his and his wife's flight attendant to Boston that which ruined her for all others.

Kol then transferred her to Skye and his Guardian which ended beautifully.

Melody was marked and mated to both Skye and his lover/Guardian ending with her pregnant.

I can't wait to learn more about this trio

I read this book awhile back, and couldn’t believe I didn’t review it. This was my first introduction to this author. What a fabulous intro. I became a fan instantly. This book held me totally captivated from the cover to the end, and I immediately started looking for more of her books. This book was that fabulous!!

I have read this book off and in for a while and although it’s a good book it seriously just feels like it won’t end. I could go in how I love the characters and how much I enjoyed the sex and their actually was a gel rear story but I can’t because I feel like I’ve been just pulled along on the ride.

Dragon’s Melody

This is the first book I have read from both this series and author. I have to say that I am glad to have found a new author for me to read many books from since I enjoyed this one so much. The turmoil of a love triangle is so present here that you feel everything from all three. Luckily they are able to find a perfect ending for themselves.
