This is a reference book for the "52 With a View" list of mountains in New Hampshire. Newsflash: they all have a view. Height and challenge rating vary. The list, itself is somewhat more subjective than many similar lists--like the 48 4,000 footers--which I like. It makes things a bit more chill as well. It is a bit funny, though, because the 52 WAV list includes a number of "delisted" peaks (which you can still count to your total for the patch) and two hikes that actually have two peak but count for one on the list. That means the count is somewhat off...in an objective sense. All good for me, though, as the hikes range from something you can get done in a morning, to peaks best bagged on your way to or from a 48 peak, to challenging 52Wav-only hikes.
The book itself is very well arranged and thought out. The descriptions are spot on. I have used it in all four seasons--the winter sections are very helpful--and will continue to do so. Even if you are not trying to do "the list" it can be a good resources for your day hikes for a long time.
