Re: The Cowboy Handyman is a Billionaire!
The cowboy I thought was Mike Barr, office handyman, is none other than the new president and CEO Rex Michael Barrington! How dare he woo me with his kisses--and then not tell me he''s a billionaire in disguise.
So what if he gives me a heart stopping smile and I can't sleep without dreaming of marrying my boss? It's going to take more than a come-hither look for me to open my heart to him again. Well, at least I hope it does...
Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
How confusing. What a disappointment that Mike from the mailroom in an office in Phoenix has become Mike a handyman in an office in Texas? And Sophia from Phoenix is now in Texas too? None of the characters was the same as the other 5 books in the series except the big boss’s secretary? Why her? ... I skimmed out of boredom so I have no idea why she was in a key role in Phoenix but now suddenly in the same role but in Texas. I’ve never seen a continuity series disconnect like this, but I’m extremely disappointed on many levels.
The story itself is great. The characters overcome their hang ups and get their HEA. The Kindle version has a lot of formatting errors and there were a couple of other errors that better proofreading should have caught. And the elevator incident was a little strange. Sophia takes her purse to go to Mike’s office to look for a tool or something to use to unjam the printer. Why would she need it when she would be going right back upstairs? She carries her purse, but leaves her phone behind. All in all, I love Lori’s stories and will continue reading her books.
Mike Barr is working as a handyman at his fathers company. Sophie works as Rex Barrington office assistance and can't wait for Rex to return to the US. Mike and Sophie are attracted to each other; but Sophie's mother has always told her to guard her heart and not give it to a cowboy. When 'Rex' decides to pursue Sophie under Mike the handyman because he does not want to wanted only for his money.
It seems that anything written by Lori Wilde I love. The Texas Rascals series is high on that list. Rex aka Mike and Sophia are each suffering from the past. He has had a bad relationship and her mother has instilled in Sophia that men are not to be trusted. How can these two make their way through these roadblocks? Read the book and find out. I loved every minute and look forward to the next one.
This Rascals book was more like a fun fantasy than a Texas love story. Sophia only worked for Barringtons for five months but had established herself as an employee everyone loved and didn't want to lose. There is so much emphasis on looks and the love story with Mike moves fast. It seemed a break from previous books in the series. My favorite has actually been the first in the series, Keegan.
She was raised by a bitter woman who thought you had to marry a rich man to make you happy. People only wanted to be friends with him because he was rich. So he comes into his dad's company pretending to be a handyman so he can find a thief in the company. There is humor, some heavy petting, no sex, romance, and loads of angst. Will love conquer all? Recommend.
I would give this one a 3.5 stars rating. It seems more connected to a different series. The characters have never been mentioned in the previous books. It was a cute and fun romance, but there was no connection, except for the location, making for a disjointed reading experience. Hoping the next story returns to the familiar faces.
I love that Rex learned his lesson. He went undercover as a handyman in his office because he has trust issues. Sofia also had some abandonment issues and her mother made her think she needed to marry money. So glad they were able to come together in the end.
Sweet story, but your dropped in the middle of with no start. I almost put it down. I'm glad I didn't because the ending was great. It tied the story with a red ribbon.
What happens when an efficient executive assistant works with the handyman? Sparks fly. Can they trust each other especially when one of them is keeping a big secret.
I have read all the books in this series and have found all of them an enjoyable read. Lori Wilde has not disappointed me yet in any of the books I have read of hers.
Protagonistas: Rex Michael "Mike Barr" Barrington III y Sophia Shepherd
Argumento:
