I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

This was my first book from the Lucas Brothers series so I honestly had no idea what to expect but the blurb had me intrigued and I was excited for a fun read. Sadly it wasn't that fun for me and instead I got bored with it pretty fast and the connection was hard to find between Kage and Green. Also the names just didn't do it for me. It's nothing new to have some crazy out there names in romance but a whole family named after colors and a hero being called by his full name which is Green House takes it from crazy to just ridiculous.

Waking up with a lingering memory of a sexy redhead and them in bed together is haunting Green. Did it happen? Or is it a fantasy. That's what is lingering in Green's mind. It's so vivid it's all he's dreaming about.

With his baseball career coming to an end, Green knows some changes are coming his way. He's tired of being on the road all the time plus his shoulder injury is not getting better. He thinks maybe it's time to settle down and make the move to Mason with his son. If only he could get the images out of his head that is.

Kage hasn't had the best life, being brought up in the foster system has made her what she is today. The horror is an ever-present memory. She and her foster brother Russ are everything to each other. He's her priority. The things she's done to take care of him and ensure he has everything he needs is not something she's proud of but when it comes to Russ she doesn't think twice.

What she didn't plan was to hook-up with Green. That one night she spent with him was incredible. What wasn't was the morning after. Waking up to a stranger telling her to get up and out of the room was embarrassing and she just wants to get away and forget.

When an opportunity presents itself to get back at Green she doesn't hesitate. He screwed her over now it's payback.

Green is living a nightmare, that's all he can think after the second disaster of date his mother Ida Sue set him up with (I LOVE IDA SUE) when he thinks it can't get any worse it does. Seeing his chance to escape his date he does not looking back. But running into the woman outside the restaurant is not part of the plan. There's something about her he can't put his name on. Something familiar about her but he can't hang around he's running from a potential nutcase.

Fast forward, we find our Green, White his brother and Mother Ida Sue together at a little no name diner. He's not impressed with either of them after finding out his mother had set up a profile for him on a dating site with his brother White being blackmailed by Ida Sue, he had no choice but to be involved. (This family is hilarious) anyway it's here it all starts to take place. The diner is the same one that Kage works at. The same one she just lost her job in and the same one that Ida Sue heard everything the manager said to Kage. With one look Ida knew there was something about Kage that reminded her of herself. With her usual take charge attitude Ida offers Kage a new start, a job and a home for her and Russ.

Kage is wary because come on no one does what this woman has just offered. She's been let down so many times she's scared to hope that this could be real. But with her circumstances going nowhere she decides to take a chance on this new life.

What neither Green or Kage expected was each other or the possibility that they would meet again in the most unlikely of scenarios, but it works, and it works well. Green is going to have his work cut out for him, but it will be worth it.

Kage will have to open her heart and her mind to this new family that has opened their home to her and when she finally realizes that this is what forever feels like she'll take it.

From here it's non-stop. The laughter Jordan delivers is a non-stop ride. With characters you are invested in and a story that just seems to get better with each page turned you'll find yourself suffering a massive book hangover but one that will be worth it.

4 Kage and Green Stars

I have been waiting for this book forever & was so excited to see that it had been released. Each of the Lucas siblings has had quite the story to tell and Green Lucas was no different. A sportsman at the end of his career is about to cross paths with a much younger woman who just might be the one he's been looking for. There is some angst , lots of fun and moments that make you want to slap the Hero. And ultimately , there's a love story.

Green's Mum , Ida Sue , is one of the most endearing, funniest and entertaining secondary characters ever written in contemporary romance IMO and she absolutely knocked it out of the ball park in this book -no pun intended , Green plays professional baseball =0). The rest of the siblings contribute hugely too.

As a Hero, Green stirred some surprising feelings in me. He was quite naive about people at times despite the fact he is 35. He wasn't the man whore I was expecting him to be but he was infuriating at times with how he treated Kage. I found myself yo yo'ing with how much I liked him / wanted to knock him upside the head for his idiocy. He seemed kind of selfish too but he does have some redeeming features and there are times he is lovely.

Kage is a 19 year old who falls hard for Green when she meets him and ends up in his bed until she is very unceremoniously kicked out by one of his team in the morning. Ouch. That scene definitely garners the reader's sympathy for the heroine. She is very likeable and her loyalty to her foster brother Russ is admirable. She is a warrior when it comes to protecting those closest to her. I'm glad she stood up to Green and at the point of conflict I was truly cheering for our girl. I would have liked him to grovel a little more though for her forgiveness.

So, why not 5 stars? The OW drama irritated me. It was necessary for the conflict to work but the naivety of Green was annoying , plus he flat out lied. He did redeem himself eventually though.

The Lucas's are crazy but it was great fun to be back in their world and catch up with previous characters. Definitely a book to brighten up dark days.

HEA? Yes
Cheating? No
One of the loveliest covers this year? Hell, yeah.

Can be read as a standalone but best read in order for maximum enjoyment.

2.5 not sure what to really think stars.

I liked the heroine better than the Hero def. He was a clueless asshole most of the time BUT he did have quite a few redeeming qualities. Ida Sue was hilarious as always and it was nice to see quite a bit of White.

I did have an issue with how the sex was handled though. The first time (ONS) that the H/h hook up he doesn't fully remember and then we never get another sex scene! We get brief memories of that hook up but we never see or get to experience them having sex and all of the emotions behind it (there was quite a bit of build up) once they are together!! We get some foreplay but the scene is either cut short due to other reasons OR that moment fades to black. After everything that happened we deserved to see that moment between them.

I love the series, "Lucas Brothers". Can't wait to read this one but guess i will have to wait until the book comes out. Ida Sue is hysterical, i just love the things that come out of her mouth. Her family names for her children are comical along with her pet cow whom acts like a dog. Lol

I can't say I liked the romance in this book but I am a sucker for people finding homes in awesome, loving families, and the Lucas family is one of the biggest and best! This wasn't an amazing book but it was fun; I love big families so much!! I mostly kept reading for the Russ/Kage interactions, but really any interaction with the Lucas family was cool too :) (I'll definitely be looking out for Blue/Meadow's book)

You know you have read a TRULY AMAZING Author when you have read all of their books yet..... they STILL manage to shock the heck outta ya with their newest release.
Jordan Marie has that unique quality of writing that sucks you in from the very first chapter and keeps you on your toes throughout the entire story.
If you have read any of the Lucas Brothers' stories you have already met Green and know a little but of his history, but hold on for the ride because there is definitely more than meets the eye with Green Lucas!!
Kage… sigh...…. oh Kage, that girl has my heart, you can tell she has a heart of gold and nothing else matters is that she is able to help her foster brother Russ, a roof over their head and food on their table. Things aren't always easy but she manages, that is until she meets the infamous Green and things don't turn out the way she had imagined it would...
Fast forward and Ida Sue gets involved and ya KNOW you're in for a wild ride when Ida Sue is involved.
I can not say enough great things about this series, I love the banter with all of the characters.
you are certain to laugh with Ida Sue's shenanigans and we can't forget all of the brothers and sisters that never pass up a chance to hassle one another.
I can't wait to what is store next for the next Lucas sibling..... stay tuned, I know I will.

I love this story. It has fun, drama, sweetness, hotness... Honestly, I love this colorful family. And Ida Sue is one extraordinary person. Sometimes she can be too much, but I love her crazy.
And main couple, Kage and Green... They had interesting start, to put it mildly. And I really wanted to kick Greens ass more than once. Sometimes he was not the brightest bulb in the box, but Green can be... Well, it was interesting to see all sides of him. Which some of those was a nice surprise. I do feel he was misunderstood. Or at least, sometimes his heart was too soft, that brought more trouble than he deserves.
Kage... I so love, when h is young and portrayed as strong and mature. Kage was amazing. I just wished, she gave more credit to herself and didn't saw herself as less, because of things she had to do to protect someone she loved. Those things, only showed how special she is. And how Kage deserves to be pulled into Ida Sue nutty but loving arms. And yes, to be someone special in Greens life, when he pulls his head of his ass.

The dating setups were so obvious except to Green, his mother and brother conjured up these candidates - some were priceless. Gage’s inability to resist Green was disappointing. I would have preferred more resistance in reaction to his advances. Their significant age differences should have made him act more responsibly.

His meddling mother’s dating candidate:::
“In our past lives, you were Bob Marley and I was… the damn dog?” “Well, yes, but—”
“I was the damn dog,” I gripe, probably too loudly because everyone is looking at us now, but I can’t help it. “I was the damn dog,” I repeat. “Green, perhaps—” “What kind of dog was I?” I snap. “I’m sorry?” “What kind of dog was I?” “You were a mixed breed really.” “And what were those breeds?” I ask, needing to know, and having no idea why. “You were part Chinese crest and part chihuahua.” “What’s a Chinese crest?” “Like a Chihuahua but your hair was long in the middle, you were black but your hair was gray. I always told everyone you were the canine version of Pat Morita.” “The canine… Pat Morita…” “The guy from Karate Kid?” she supplies helpfully. “I know who Pat Morita is,” I growl, standing up. I am tempted to point out that Karate Kid didn’t even come out until after Bob Marley died. But I don’t. She’d probably tell me how she told everyone in the afterlife while she waited for her next fucking body. “You shouldn’t be upset. You were a cute little thing. And I took you to the doctor for the drooling issue, although your tongue still stayed out all the time and lolled to the side. I think that was more habit than medical issue though,” she says gently like she’s trying to make me feel better. I can’t really take any more at this point, however. I’m done. “I need to go to the restroom for a minute”.

Gage ‘Poppy’ as Ida Sue nicknamed her is a grifter not by choice but through desperation and circumstances. Needing money to gain insulin access for her physically disabled fourteen-year old foster brother, Russ, she resorts to stealing.

Ida Sue still lives up to her scandalous reputation and scheming. Weak heroine, the significant age difference mattered. He’s been with three women. His obsessive’love’ Cynthia (sociopath), Marissa the mother of his son and Gage. Implausible.

Spoiler alert!

Ok,I really loved this book it was funny, easy read, and had a different storyline. When I quit loving it and went being a good book was when she had pregnancy scare and she never once said she was on birth control til after 2 blood tests and 2 home kits. It just felt like it was a afterthought and should been left out or brought up earlier. Some how Good Reads had to entry’s for this book and the one I clicked did not show it was series. That being said I really jumped the line with this one. I will definitely be reading this series, I cannot wait to see what happens to the all the colors and flowers, lol.

I love this series but I could not connect to the h in this book at all. To me she was whiney, annoying, and really childish and boring. I just really did not like her at all, that spoiled the book for me. But more importantly, I did not believe the connection between the H and h in the book. I think it’s really important that the author of the book, regardless if you like or do not like characters, can still make you feel that ride or die feeling between the mc’s. I missed that in this book. The author normally does a better job in making me believe the chemistry.

I still loved all the side characters and can not wait to read about another brother. Hopefully it will be Blue because the author does a really good job in making me curious what is happening in his love life.

"It's clear to me now and this time, there's a difference. Kage isn't another woman. She's the woman."

This book is such a feel-good, hysterical, laugh fest full of all the emotions!!! This family is one of my absolute favorite small town romance series, once I dive in, I can't put them down, and don't even want to. Ida Sue has become an Icon, I can never wait to see what she says and does next, I love her so HARD!!! Kage and Green were rocky throughout, but their attraction held no matter the push and pull. It brought all the sweet, the heat, and the fun of this series, and then some!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

I love this series something fierce. When I saw that there was a new book and it was about Green I was ecstatic. Sadly, it fell short for me. Even though I liked Green and Kage I didn't connect with them the way I wanted. It was Ida Sue and all her craziness that stole the show for me again. That woman and her bantering seriously is some of the best things in the romance world.

Even though this wasn't my favorite, I'm still a die-hard can of this family and series.

I absolutely loved the side characters! I adored the heroine at times but she struggled between being a strong woman and a pushover when it came to the hero. Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan of his... at all. I’ve read a lot of books but this is the first time where I like and hate the book at the same time. Give this book a try , your taste might differ!

Once again, Jordan Marie brings us another hilarious and beautiful story from the crayon gang!!! I loved this story of Green and Kage so, so much!!! Kage has had a rough life and has good reasons for having trust issues. Green, to quote his mama, spends a lot of time with his “head up his a$$”.... This is a beautiful story and we get lots of Ida Sue which is always a bonus!!

I loved this book. It had everything, humor, love, redemption, and the funniest family I ever knew. Green and Kage’s beginning was a rough start but Green stepped up and became the son Ida Sue raised. Kate has spunk and the perfect woman for Green. Can’t wait for the next book

Brilliant characters, amazing stories! This is a series that will hold on to your heart for a long time! 5 stars is not enough of a rating, it deserves so much more.
These books build on an amazing women named Ida Sue and all her kids and their ultimate hea! Ida Sue is the funniest character I believe I've ever encountered! She is quirky, funny and set in her ways, she says and does whatever she wants! ( I want to be her when I grow up!) She loves hard but fights harder for her kids, their happiness ( even when they don't think they need it). Every one of her boys are Named after a color( bc she needed to have a rainbow in this hard world) her girls are named after flowers (bc again bringing beauty into the world). Ida Sue did not have an easy life but she raised respectful, hardworking kids. Each story is about one family members Hea but all characters make appearances. I suggest reading in order to fully fall in love with all these characters as I have done!
So if you love Romance, heat, hea, epilogue, crazy laugh out loud moments, a pet cow named hamburger and a kitchen table and a kids play house that sees a lot of bow chicka wow wow, then start this series! You'll thank me.
Jordan Marie has done the unthinkable in writing, she has created a WHOLE series that builds(each book can be standalone but you won't get all the feels that way) onto each other and only gets better and better! Free with k.u. But so worth buying if you don't have it. Super sad I finished this book and awaiting eagerly for her next Lucas family book!

Home Run is the 6th book in the Lucas brother Series, It's not however as good as previous books. I did love the comedy in parts of this book though and it was very entertaining. Unfortunately everything else was very slow going for me which was a little disappointing. I also found it hard to click with Kage she annoyed me so much in certain parts.

“It is. You may not like it, Mom, but Cynthia and I have a history.” “Oh please, that alley cat has history with anything that walks on two legs and has a hangy-down thingy in the middle.” “To be fair, Mom, I think she’s only interested if it’s not hanging down,” White says with a laugh.

Although I was a little disappointed with this book I will read more in this series in the future.

Ugh couldn’t finish!

The synopsis hooked me but the actual story was nothing like the synopsis! This book contained everything I hate in a book!
Virgins first time with a guy who didn’t know-check
Pregnant while on birth control -check
Not telling the dad-check
Age difference that would never work in reality-check
I could go on and on and on!!
How is this the 6th book in a series?! Who let this crap continue to be published!
And the stupid names! I have the mother of all crazy names & I couldn’t get behind the “color” names!!!
Just NO!

Je me suis fortement attachée à Kage, notre jeune héroïne d'à peine 19 ans.

When you are twisted up in so many knots and don't know how to untangle them...
Green just can't seem to get it right with the few women he's had relationships with in his life... too committed to protecting the women, even if they weren't worth the time of day. the ONE woman he meets on the worst day of his life, drunk on a combo of pain meds and booze, seems to be his Ms. Perfect... if only he could remember something about their night together... anything! Then there's Ida Sue, who will conjure up the most wicked ways to find her son the perfect wife... this mamma bear will stop at nothing! 5 Hilariously Entertaining Stars for "Home Run: Lucas Brothers Book 6".

As Green is contemplating what the future for him and his son Mason will look like after baseball, he wasn’t expecting his interfering mother to start setting him up with women she deems appropriate. It was during one of these blind dates that he meets Kage although she wasn’t date.

Life for Kage has been a struggle but she wouldn’t change a thing because her brother Russ means everything to her. When she finds herself unemployed it is Ida Sue that comes to her rescue and offers her a fresh start that she can’t turn down.

Kage and Green have a past, even if it is a little fuzzy for Green, which has left her determined to not get involved with him. They are both looking for the same thing which is love and a family, but their journey is far from easy. It is always fun to catch up with the Lucas family and this story filled with heat, humor and heart was no exception.

If anything to go by in the series this book was going to be epic, and it didn’t disappoint! These Lucas boys don’t disappoint and it’s time for Green’s story. Green is boiling over the female his family has taken in. But once he meets her she knocks his socks off. Kage has literally been through hell and back in her short stay. She looks after her handicap foster brother sacrificing herself so that he is happy and healthy. Green has his head up his butt and really hurts Kage, I was breathing fire over that one! Kage it’s such a likable character I couldn’t understand how Green would hurt her. He finally pulls it out even though it’s almost too late and I can’t help swooning for him. Bring on more of the crayon brigade with their witty banter and family antics I was laughing so hard I was crying throughout this book.

I am so in love with this series!

I devour every word this author writes and she never ceases to amaze me with the humor and depth of feelings she writes. I laughed so many times during this book. Ida Sue cracks me up constantly! And the crap she puts Green through is hilarious!

Kage is one of my favorite characters to date by this author (though I think I say that a lot, because she just keeps amazing me). She has been through a lot in her short life but she is strong and loyal, and she is definitely tenacious!

There were a few times I really wanted to smack Green upside his head. But I think that has been a recurring theme in this series with the Lucas boys!

If you are looking for a book with a great story and lots of laughter and tears this is the book for you!!!

Oh boy oh boy, I just can't get enough of this Lucas family. In this book we meet Kage, she's a young woman, determined to survive and care for the young boy she's claimed as a little brother. I loved Green, how he handles his momma, Ida Sue and the rocky relationship with Kage. The back and forth between Green and Kage will keep you on your toes and you'll enjoy the ride. The story is fun, touching, spicy and full of family. I always love digging back in to these characters and what things will be going on with them. It's a must read in this absolutely wonderful series.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I loved this book. I Adore Ida Sue.
Now Gage was a young woman with a lot on her shoulders. Thinking her dreams were coming true to only have them thrown back in her face. So she went back to what she know.
Now I was very upset with Green to begin with. He was a jerk. Though we know why so oh well.
Now here comes Ida Sue to take things in hand and boy does she ever. You can’t pull the wool over Ms Ida Sue’s eyes. So watch Ida Sue work her magic and find out what happens next. Gage and Green will never know what hit them.

The girl really hates being told what to do, "I’m such an idiot. I only agreed to go on this date because Green told me I couldn’t..." Green, jealous, no not him, “hello,” I comply. “Now, who’s shirt are you wearing?" Leave it to Ida Sue to put it all out there, “Green, good Lord, I only asked her why she was so happy, not if she had bagged my son and finally tamed his pet snake,” Mom chastises." I liked this book, I loved Green, even if his head was up his arse over half the time.

This read was a surprise for me. I’m not normally into rom com type stories but there was something about Kage that I really loved. She didn’t just roll over. She stood up for her self and protected her brother. And oh Russ, he stole my heart. I’m a sucker for a kid and even more so one with some extra needs. And he was perfect. I enjoyed ida and her crazy! Basically this was a fun read. I think I’m gonna have to go back and read the rest in the series
