Once upon a time, a scorned Queen opened a box, unleashing horrible evil on the world's heroes.
Instead of gallantry and chivalry, they now possessed much more perverse traits. They’ve fallen victim to their darkest and most deviant desires.
This is one of their stories...
A regular at my club racked up a large debt that he couldn’t afford, so I sent my men to collect. Instead of delivering the money I was owed, they brought me her. Unable to fulfill her father’s debt, I told her he would pay for it with his life. When she begged to trade her father’s life for her own, I was intrigued. But she couldn’t hide the shiver of fear cloaked beneath the façade of strength and bravery she tried to portray.
Silly girl, you don't know what you've gotten yourself into. I'm going to snuff out your pride and stomp on your courage.
My father was a good man with strong values, who put his family above everything else. We weren’t perfect, but we were happy. Then, Mom died and took our happiness with her. Dad quickly got caught in a downward spiral that spun our world into chaos. The warm, caring man that I knew from my childhood was replaced with a complete stranger.
It sucked the light from my world. Now, I feel I will pay greatly for his transgressions.
This was a pleasant and fairly quick read that held my attention from start to finish. This is a great book for those who love a darker tale but do not enjoy dub-con and non-con in their story. It is a very lose retelling of Beauty and the Beast, though the Beast seemed to start of all evil and threatening but very quickly morphed into a pussy cat.
My personal preference would have been for a little more conflict between Master B and his little lamb. Rosabelle took to the whole submissive life too easily, quickly embracing and accepting the new experiences thrown her way. That said they were very tame and we didn't get much detail. Don't expect highly detailed or boundary pushing BDSM play - a light flogging and an outdoor adventure with a rose was as audacious as it got. At the very end we get the heroine reminiscing on a punishment scene - had the author included this in 'real time' in the book it would have added some needed depth and emotion. There were a lot of great plot idea's but they didn't feed into the story and help drive the plot or develop character depth. They could have been cut out of the story without altering it's feel or flow.
The writing, pace and flow are very good and create a very easy to read insta-love story. In terms of La Tour itself, this book very much stayed in "Le Cote Debutant" side of the club, along with the other newbies and tourists, never straying into the "Avace" side.
Plot: Rosabelle's father hasn't been the same since her mother died. He's been hanging out in bars and degenerate clubs, and one day Rosabelle goes to Beast's club to find him. He's not there, and the Beast chases her out. But then he finds that her father has been cheating him and he collects Rosabelle as payment, who (of course) offers herself to save his life. He then teaches her all about bdsm. The end.
Character development: The story lacked some background context. We don't really learn about either character outside of the club confines. Nothing about where they came from or where they're going. It almost felt like they were in this sort of living stasis inside the club. The first part was a lot of moral stuff - her father getting into trouble, shoo-ing off the pure girl from the club corridors, being the beast who kills thieves. Then it transitioned (but abruptly) and it was all bdsm club stuff, but nothing voluntary (except for her betraying body!). I just felt like the story wasn't fleshed out enough. It had potential and maybe the club itself could be fertile ground for more books (maybe it already is - I haven't looked - I read this one as a rec for books with heroines taken as debt payment).
Murphy has brought to life a new retelling of Beauty and The Beast one that I want more of. Its down right sexy and keeps you turning the pages. This Story has characters that you will like from the very beginning. I would love to see more of this story.
Bound in Sacrifice is the fourth book in The Dirty Heroes Collectionand I enjoyed reading this. It has the Dark elements (but not so), & BDSM. but since the author did a great job and this was well written I did not cringe whilst I'm reading this. It's fast paced and satisfying. Highly recommend✔
I felt like this could have been a really really good story and it just fell short. I enjoyed it but it wasn't well developed. I realize this was more a novella but I felt like I heard about the development of the relationship second hand instead of experiencing it. It's a story that was heavy on the BDSM element but all the sex scenes were of the fade out variety. I felt like the set up was done well. Rosabella's sarfice for her dad. Adam's lost love. Yet past the set up there was no development. I've been loving this series and I just found this story to be a disappointment.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
From the first moment, this series of standalone books was introduced, I was hooked on the idea. I mean, why wouldn't I be considering that they were being written by several of my automatic must-read authors. This book was much different than I was expecting. That is not to say that in a bad way, it just was different. I was expecting more darkness if that makes sense or depravity from a man known as "Beast."
Beast was a terror to those around him if they went against what he deemed was wrong. He was brutal in that sense. However, with his little lamb, Rosabelle, he does show that he has a softer side. Which makes sense because even a monster needs to find love. It was interesting to see how her coming into being here turned out in this story. The BDSM was a nice way to introduce that into the story and make their connection stronger.
I would have liked to have seen the story a little more fleshed out in regards to the exploration of this lifestyle. It seemed pretty in fast and that bummed me a little because the potential was there for so much more. Especially, as the set up for the whole club and world was integral in the story. As I mentioned, the story was good, however, I wanted more from it. More of Rosabelle fighting the idea of being a natural submissive and her "captivity" to finally blooming like the rose she could be. This was a novella so my guess is that there was too much of a time constraint to make that happen in this short amount of space. I also was curious about Luca and Paige. I am hoping that if she continues this series that maybe I will get more of the things I wanted in those books.
Steamy. Coerced relationship via a debt (be still, my dirty little heart). A reluctant heroine held captive and (initially) thrown into a cell. Oh, but I could read a book with these elements every day and never get enough!
As a (connected) standalone this book is admittedly a little more insta-love than I'm used to, but it is still a great read. I have yet to read anything from this author that didn't work for me.
A solid read for fans of dark romance with BDSM elements and some insta-love!
3.5 ⭐⭐⭐ Bound In Sacrifice is the first book I have read by this author. It has an interesting story line, but it felt a bit rushed to me. I love the whole dark fairy tale idea that this book was based off of. It just fell a little short for me. With a hero with the name The Beast you would think there would be a little more darkness about him. With the way the author describes him he is dark, delicious, and all kinds of twisted. Rosabelle our heroine is a whole lot naïve where her father and or life in general are concerned. Their relationship begins in an unconventional way, but the best ones usually do.
Now as I stated in the beginning I felt like this story was rushed. It seemed like once the characters get to point B everything goes at warp speed. I loved the build up that gets us to point B. It was intriguing and kept my interest, it was a page turner. These are the only reasons for the lower star rating. Other than this the story is really enjoyable.
Bound in Sacrifice by Murphy Wallace is book 4 in The Dirty Heroes Collection Series. This is the story of Rosabelle and Beast. I have read the previous book, but this is a standalone book. This series are ones taking from fairy tales but mad dark...and hot. Rosabelle's mother died sometime back and with her mother's death is seem to have changed her father for the worst. Which is how Rosabelle came to be in front of the Beast as a sacrifice to help her father who has gather a large debt owed to Beast. Beast is a dark and powerful man never weaken to any one but there is something about Rosabelle that makes him feeling something more. Enjoyed this book.
I enjoyed reading Bound in Sacrifice, it is fast past and doesn't take any prisoners ( in a matter of speaking). There is a great flow and you do not want really for anything. However, sometimes I feel like we are moving to fast.
Rosabelle and the Beast are meant for each other. But with how fast somethings happen it seems we miss the love these two could have. I enjoyed the chemistry and the main story Murphy writes. But I think there could be a deeper story if it had been longer and taken a little deeper.
Bound In Sacrifice is a page turner that will captivate you from the beginning.
Rosabelle's journey into the introduction of the bdsm lifestyle.
Beast is someone you should fear and never cross. Your life will depend on it. After the death of his sub Beast never thought he would meet another woman who would intrigue him like Viv Much to his surprise little lamb brought the Beast to his knees.
Bound in Sacrifice is a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast," the most-adapted fairy tale in this genre (see, for example, Beauty's Beast, Beauty's Daddy, Beast, and Beauty of the Beast). While I realize that this series is based on extant stories, because so many iterations of "Beauty and the Beast" already exist, it's that much harder for authors to do something fresh. While I appreciated some aspects of the book (see below), nothing particularly grabbed me. I also agree with what other reviewers say about the speed at which events unfold and the book's lack of detail and description (I have no idea at all what either main character looks like). While I realize that this is a novella, since it's erotica, well-described kink scenes are de rigueur (how's that for French?); and since it's romance, we do need to see the relationship between the two lovers progress. Instead, we get serious insta insta-love.
Finally (in terms of what didn't work for me), a sheltered young woman who has barely heard of BDSM goes from 0 to 120 in less than an hour; I didn't appreciate the gendered slurs ("mindless whore"); no experienced dominant would leave his submissive alone for such a lengthy time after a punishment; and the ending was very, very abrupt.
I did, however, like Rosabelle's spirit: she was a very appealing h who was not as much of a doormat as many are in this genre. I appreciated her sense of adventure, openness to new experiences, and that she stood up for herself when needed. I also appreciated that Adam apologized when he was wrong (rare in this genre), genuinely wanted what was best for his h, and was not the monster that Henrik was in Finding His Strength (unless you enjoy reading about brutal rape and murder, I'd skip that one). While I know that some readers enjoy reading about rape, I'm not one of them and those who like "dark" will be disappointed here. Finally (in terms of what worked for me): the club's secondary characters were likeable.
3 stars. The prose is competent, but the author's word choice is sometimes odd: neither "intrigue" nor "disparaging" are used correctly, for example. This is a new author to me, and while I wouldn't be opposed to reading other books (I believe this may be the first in a series), I would hope that this one is not their best work.
Oh, and, authors, it's "rein in" NOT "reign in." I will never understand why few get this right.
FANTASTIC!!! This is the first book I've read by Murphy Wallace and I absolutely loved it. It's a fantastic, quick read based in the BDSM world. I'm not going to tell you what happens. You'll need to read this one yourself. You'll be glad you did. Murphy Wallace has a great way of telling a story. With remarkable characters and a storyline that will have you quickly turning the pages, you don't want to miss this one.
This is my second book in “The Dirty Heroes Collection”. I like how each of the novellas have a fairytale retelling vibe; this one is for Beauty and the Beast. I must say that Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time favorites! I didn’t remember that fact when I started reading, so it was a nice surprise!
The Beast is the owner of La Tour, France’s most exclusive BDSM club. He’s fully emerged into the lifestyle, however, he doesn’t enjoy it anymore. He lost his submissive a couple of years ago and since then he became closed off. Imagine his surprise when he’s attracted to a woman after all this time. Rosabelle comes into the club in search of her father. After losing her mother, her father became depressed and all he’s doing is getting drunk and having sex. Because of his reckless behavior, he’s now indebted to the Beast and he’s ready to collect. That’s how Rosabell finds herself at Le Chateau as Beast’s new submissive.
The concept of the story is really interesting. The BDSM lifestyle merged flawlessly with the Beast’s personality. My complain is that the book was really small for the story to fully evolve. I wanted to see more of how Rosabelle grown into a submissive. I felt like it was too easy the way she accepted the role. I did feel the connection and chemistry between them. I’m hoping that the author will give us more books in the “La Tour” universe. I would like to find out the rest of the characters’ stories!!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This is my first book in this series and I must say that I enjoyed it. It is the retelling of a fairy tale in a most delicious way. Beast is well a beast to those who went against him. Since this is an erotic novella with BDSM he is certainly a Dom to be wary of. Again, he's called beast for a reason people! Yet to Rosabelle he isn't. With her he shows a softer side and of course is the Dom when needed. She balances him in a way he didn't know he needed. Beast shows Rosabelle just how much of a natural submissive she really is. All in all this was a great read. I would have loved for it to be longer but since it is a novella it's short. It did intrigue me enough to want to check out the other stories in the series.
Master B and Rosabelle’s story is a twisted, sexy and sweet version of Beauty and the Beast. I really hope we get more from La Tour by Murphy Wallace!!
I loved this story! The Beast as he is known, is a Dom who while he is perceived as evil, definitely will work his way into your heart. When he first sees Rosabelle, he is intrigued. Who is she? When he discovers whose daughter she is, he makes her make a choice, but will it be the right one? Rosabelle is new to this lifestyle, can she adjust or will she hate him forever? These two characters are perfect for each other. They both need love in their lives, but are unsure how to obtain it. When he shows her about submission, even though she fights against it, she knows maybe this is the life for her. I found this story to be quite enjoyable and recommend it.
Meh. No character development, little story, too rushed.
This was barely a book. The whole story was unfinished. The characters has very little development, the relationship between the MCs was basically a second long. And I couldn't bring myself to care about any of them. Two stars because there were few typos and it started off as if it were something. It could have been something fairly good with about 100 more pages. It just seems as if the author ran out of time and rushed through half of the book. Is there another part missing or something?
I was So honored & lucky to receive an arc of this book.. I don’t know if I can truly say much without spoilers... but I sooo Loved i!!! I cant think of a more exciting way of rediscovering our favorite “fairy tales” & this one was so well interpreted as an “adult” version, including an opulent sex club & bdsm (very hot!) but ultimately, a fantastic love story with an HEA. 5 stars all the way. Thank you for this really fun read 😍
Wow a very intense dark read that can be read in one setting and was very good and with twists and turns for a dark hot male and a witty women. This will take you on a steamy dark read of ups and downs and have you feeling like you are right in the story.
There seems to be a LOT of dirty retelling of The Beauty and the Beast stories. I like every single one that I’ve read. Including this one, during most of it. In fact, I absolutely LOVED this retelling until the end. It is deliciously dark and dirty. One thing I did not like at all was Rosabelle using the F word. It's too crass and vulgar for her sweet innocence to be using. It tarnished her. Something else that bothered me was that there was such a build up to the very first time that Rosabelle and Mr. B were first intimate with each other, when they first had intercourse, that I expected so much more from the act itself. But all that was said was, “You knew I would beg you for it. This is me, begging you, to touch me, Sir.” I don’t know what I anticipated would happen when I finally said the words, but the last thing I thought this evil beast would do would be to sweep me into his arms, carry me to the bed, and make love to me like he never wants to lose me.” That’s it. No description, no taking us along for the ride, just a quick narrated statement and we’re done. BOO! Also, I like it when a man pulls his belt from his pants, when he unbuttons his pants. Describing that is tantalizing but instead, in this book, we get “Eventually, I break the kiss and stand, telling her to stay put, as I quickly undress.” 🤦♀️ I feel cheated. Also, much as I enjoyed this version of the story, I felt like some things were left unresolved such as how Rosabelle and her father might reconcile, like in the original story, and how The Beast (Mr. B or Adam) dealt with Gavin. I expected her father to go to him for help since he swore that's what he would do. I then expected that Gavin would go to the club, become indignant for Rosabelle and try to wrestle her away from Mr. B but find himself outmatched. I'd hoped that Mr. B would somehow destroy Gavin's life so he couldn't force himself on another woman or at least never hurt Rosabelle ever again. I also expected that Mr. B would call Rosabelle "Belle" instead of Rose like Gavin had done. What I really didn't like was that it seemed like Rosabelle's entire existence changed in that she would continue to call Mr. B (Adam was his actual name) "Sir" as if there was no real intimacy or closeness between them but that all day every day they were a Dom and a Sub. Don't most BDSM officionados only play those roles in the bedroom? IDK. In the original story, Belle broke the curse so that everyone's life had changed for the better, but in this retelling, it was Belle's life that changed and not necessarily for the better. It could have been so much better.
I went into this book fully expecting to cringe — lately I’ve had a real aversion to sex club/BDSM club settings because they tend to devolve into every side character touching everyone and the MMC sleeping around. But this one? This one completely blindsided me in the best way.
The Beast didn’t have any other women. None. He was entirely focused on Rosabelle from the second she stepped into his world, and that alone made me settle in and actually enjoy the club setting for once.
The setup had me hooked immediately — Rosabelle trading herself for her father’s debt, walking straight into the Beast’s lair, and instead of being reduced to a background prop in a parade of club scenes, she became the focus. I especially loved that she didn’t put up some exhausting, overblown fight. I’m so over FMCs who dig in their heels at every turn just to prove a point; Rosabelle’s mix of bravery and calculated compliance made her feel real, smart, and even more satisfying to watch when the dynamic started to shift.
The side characters added just the right amount of flavor without stealing the spotlight. Luka (Lumière) with his wax kink and Paige (Fifi) as his sub? Delicious. Cohen (Cogsworth) and his kink-tech gadget obsession? Perfect. It gave the world texture without diluting the main couple.
And then… the Beast himself. The way he softened for Belle so quickly but never lost that dangerous, possessive edge — it was exactly what I crave in a dark romance hero. The wine and roses scene? Holy hell. I will never look at that combination the same again. That was pure, filthy artistry.
✅Likes✅ ✔ MMC was 100% loyal and laser-focused on the FMC — no pointless side flings or jealousy bait. ✔Rosabelle’s strength wasn’t in constant rebellion, but in knowing when to hold her ground and when to bend — made the power dynamics work. ✔Side characters had personality and kinks of their own without becoming distractions (special love for Luka & Paige). ✔The Beast’s emotional shift was believable and hit at just the right pace. ✔That wine and roses scene — I’m ruined. ✔Pacing kept the story hot and addictive without dragging.
❌Dislikes❌ ✘Rosabelle’s father — useless. ✘Gavin (Gaston) — irritating but thankfully barely mentioned. ✘Too short. I would’ve happily devoured 300+ pages of this world and these characters.
This was exactly the kind of dark, sexy, Beauty-and-the-Beast retelling I didn’t know I needed. It had the bite, the heat, and the obsession I crave, without drowning in the usual club-scene clichés. Murphy Wallace made me eat my own skepticism — and I’d happily go back for seconds.

Goodness gracious, where is my tall glass of iced water when I need it? I am so lucky with all these Beauty and the Beast inspired stories that I am reading at the moment, and Bound in Sacrifice absolutely is at the top of my list of interpretations that I thoroughly enjoyed!Rosabelle is relatable as she struggles with what she has been told is right and what she feels is right, that difficulty of accepting what you feel, what you believe inside can eat you up. She starts out afraid to actually go after what she wants, what she desires, something I could keenly relate to. And our Beast, well, he hasn't had the best of times either. He is a tortured soul, yet, as we get to know him better, it makes him all the more endearing, once some of those layers are peeled back, of course! With a cast of interesting secondary characters that I'd definitely like to know more about, our Beauty and her Beast have a tough road ahead of them, an emotional rollercoaster of a journey that might not end the way that they hope it might. They both need to learn how to trust, how to live, and the enemies to lovers vibe they have going on is a difficult barrier to overcome.Bound in Sacrifice shows us the power of trust, honesty, desire, and the usefulness of meting out some punishment every once in a while, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it! Murphy Wallace has written an awesome addition to the Dirty Heroes series, and I can't wait to read some more of her work!
