Regan Black, a USA Today bestselling author, writes award-winning, action-packed romantic novels featuring kick-butt heroines and the sexy heroes who fall in love with them. She and her husband currently enjoy the empty-nest life in the South Carolina Lowcountry where the rich blend of legend, romance, and history fuels her imagination.
Two souls lost who found love and mended together. Love the two agency working together. Romance loves will like this story. wish for more about Autumn
Coming off a tough assignment less than 24hours ago, his PTSD wanting to share with the world and exhaustion should’ve been Colin Hazard’s clue he’d get one word order advising he was desperately needed by a new client. The order did come and from there obtaining and protecting teacher, Summer Curley was different from the other assignments he’d been given.
Summer saw the Indian Reservation ‘mafia’ kidnap her sister, Autumn. She was convinced it was revenge for Autumn thwarting their attempt to force one of her students into their web and she was willing to testify! Shuttled about, Autumn’s team is killed and her new protector, Colin had a few obstacles to get to her side.
But the other side didn’t give up so easily, they seemed to have help and deep pockets as Colin and Autumn are harried on land and by air. Luckily, Hank Patterson’s Brotherhood agents were able to provide much needed help in their cameos. This reader liked but didn’t love the outing. Similarities to the previous read dampened the excitement, and the romance piece was bland to my taste leaving this reader yearning for more suspense. Rating: 3.75stars
It is still a stand alone, but 3 witnesses went missing in book 4, that book focused on the first, this book is about the second. So whilst it can be read alone it does have a few crossovers and references that tie with with book 4 as well as our favourite Brotherhood Protectors Hank, Swede and of course Six! Colin is still suffering with self doubt and trauma from his capture, he struggles to fully focus on other things until Summer. He has no trouble at all forgetting his past when he is with Summer, for the first time in months he feels, this mission just became the most important of his life, it's not just about protecting a witness.....it's about securing his future! It is unusual for two Guardian books to be connected in any way but I loved that it was, it added a little something extra, awesome!
This author is great at creating a storyline. Even an overarching one. My only additional comment is that the sensual side of her books tends to be more... workmanlike. Not bad - but it runs the edge of detracting from the romance side of things. I can see where she tones down any edginess -- and I don't mean moving beyond the typical, but the sex is never allowed to get in the way .. in ANY way, even when it would help the plot.
This has it end up somewhere between PG-13 and a little more.
Once again a witness in the Gurley trafficking trial is in danger. This time it's Summer, Autumn's sister. Here comes Colin to save her. In their flight from Denver to Eagle Rock they will face many trials, the least of which is falling in luv with each other. Can this guilt ridden woman and an equally haunted man get past their own problems to see that their salvation is right in front of them? Find all the answers in this excellent book. Highly recommended.
This book is linked to last book autumn was kidnapped two years ago, a cafe owner (see book before this one) helped her, now with a trail coming up the mob is out in full swing this book is the sister of autumn (summer) all three girls was being attacked at the same time with there own witness protection the agency and hanks step in to help.summer saw her get taken.
Although most of these stories could be read as stand alone novels, I would highly recommend reading the book prior to this one, this one, and more than likely the next book as well (at least I'm hoping!! Lol!), as they are all connected to a specific case. All of the stories in this series are absolutely fantastic, and you certainly won't be disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Colin met Summer when he was assigned as her bodyguard. She was a witness to a kidnapping and a mob was out to keep her from testifying. Colin and Summer were in a posh hotel when a drone outside their window. They immediately started to run. They went to Hank Patterson to get backup to help them. Then it was time to go to court.
So much mystery and suspense! Regan Black never disappoints me! I love that her characters are such care giving people! On to the next Regan Black adventure!
I really enjoyed this book! Colin and Summer’s story is a great addition to the Brotherhood Protectors World and Black’s own Guardian Agency series. It is full of action, suspense, mystery, danger, and romance. The characters are fun, strong, engaging and the storyline is intense, gripping and well-written.
Summer is currently in WITSEC after witnessing a crime involving her sister as the victim. On the way to give testimony her protective detail is gunned down before her eyes and she barely escapes the hitman’s grasps. Now on the run, with little money, know where to go and no one to trust she is truly in a bind. All she has to do is stay out of sight, make smart decisions, and come up with a plan that will keep her alive. No problem, right? She has a level head, does not cave under pressure, and is determined so she is got this…until Colin makes his appearance and turns what is left of her world upside down. Putting her trust in him is a huge thing for her, but there is something that pulls her towards him and once she is hooked, the last thing she wants to do is escape. If only they can survive long enough for her to testify.
Colin is a bodyguard with the Guardian Agency and kind of new to the fold. He is just coming off a case and hits send on his report when a new assignment comes in. Though tired and wanting some R&R, he kicks into high gear and heads out to find his new charge. Once apprised of the situation, he knows he is in for a challenge since she is off the map but he is good at what he does and with the aid of his assistant and some familiar faces from the Brotherhood Protectors he will get the job done. However, when he finds Summer he realizes he is in way over his head. Protecting a charge from danger – no problem, but when tangled emotions and his heart gets involved all bets are off. No one will hurt this woman on his watch.
This is a fun, fast-paced, action-filled read with charming characters and a fabulous tie-in to the other stories in both series. Must read!
*I received an ARC of this book from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

5*****Stars Novella: Colin Series: Brotherhood Protectors World (Guardian Agency) Author: Regan Black Publisher: Kindle Unlimited Pages: 134 Genre: Romantic Suspense] Rated: Mature Release: October 8, 2019
Ahhh Regan Black….You always have a wonderful story for me to read! Today a fulfilling Novella in the wonderful protector’s world you have created for your readers.
Yes I am a junkie for stories of hard troubled ex military men…..continuing helping others after they leave and try to settle into civilian lives. Their fit into a protector agency seems suited to their needs to fight their past and help others.
There is no way any of your stories disappoint and now we get to meet Colin.
Summer Curley is a teacher on the reservation. She is in witness protection when she is punished by the gang trying to traffick one of her students. She saved the student; they took her sister as payback. When deciding to be a witness in court to testify about the men who grabbed her sister , the safe house is found and she is now on the run.
Colin Hazard's Army career ended after weeks as a prisoner of war. Now he finds purpose as a bodyguard and is called to find Summer and keep her safe to testify.
This novella both satisfies all my senses. Regan Blacks writing and descriptions keep me needing Not to put my kindle down!!! She even offers a possibility that we might see more of these two in the future….
Colin has just finished an assignment when his "handler" sends him the protect message. It's unusual to get another job so fast so Colin realises it must be urgent.
Summer was set to give evidence against the human trafficking ring that abducted her sister right in front of her. She never thought that going against a local gang on the Reservation would lead to those kind of consequences. Her sister was missing for some time and Summer has an awful lot of guilt around her shoulders. But now her WitSec protectors have been gunned down and they told her to run. Can she trust this handsome guy who found her out of the blue? Admittedly he helped her out of a sticky situation. But is it case of out of the frying pan and into the fire?
Summer was a great heroine. She was determined to show her students the right path, even though the consequences were not what she thought they would be. She had the courage of her convctions. Colin himself has some baggage to carry and is able to help himself process his own guilt and insecurities by helping Summer. Tony is a memorable character, if for all the wrong reasons!
Colin Hazard is working with the Guardian agency to keep himself busy and help him exorcise his demons. He is given a job as a bodyguard for a woman who has lost her WitSec guards and, is on the run. Summer saw her guard gunned down in the Federal Courthouse as Summer was waiting to testify against the Native Mob. She has already lost her sister, who has disappeared before testifying and, Colin is concerned that he just may not be able to keep Summer safe is she is going to fight him every step of the way. Summer is concerned that she will get Colin killed, just like she has lost her sister, father and, her previous bodyguards. She's grown to care for Colin and, she can't tolerate losing him, too. Colin has grown to care for Summer and, he's not about to lose her like he's lost some Military friends!! Non-stop action with this story!!!
Colin: Brotherhood Protectors World is by Regan Black. This book is noted as one which deals with desertion in a firm and also private cleaning and being a nurse too. The book is good and ends too soon. Colin is an ex-SEAL who is working for The Guardian Agency to find Summer Curley and keep her safe and accompany her through the trial she is testifying at. First, he has to find her. She had run when her previous bodyguard was killed. She didn’t trust easily. Colin knew he had to gain her trust and get her to follow his orders. He gets her out of town and they head for a safe place, if they can find one. Where ever they are, the bad guys seem to find them. He had to get her to Denver to the trial, regardless of danger to himself. Can he get her there? Will her testimony help? Will she see her family again?
I think I like each book a little better. This book has suspense, romance, steam and to me this book had integrity and laughter. Several parts really made an impact, besides being an awesome read, one part that really stuck was Summer encouraging a student to do the right thing, and then when Summer is threatened she stands up and does the right thing. You have to read this story to understand that so many of us would bow down under this. Integrity. Colin aw, Colin, ex army who had been captured and still has a soul. They make a great team as they fight the Native Mob. I will say that Tony was like the frigging energizer bunny, or maybe Michael in Halloween. Thank you Regan for the arc and the wonderful read. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
If you discount the little typing errors, she leaves gaps in the story. For example. After Colin finds and rescues her at the convenience store they are picked up by a white car and driver curtesy of Tyler, taken to a high end hotel, tyler tells them to stay a. Couple days - when they run after the shootout his car is at the hotel and they get in. Sooooo 1) how or when did his car get there? 2) since he was in the room how did he know where his car was parked? Who was feeding the mob the information? You would think now the trial is over they would get to that as well? How were Colin/ summer tracked? “ Tony” was on their tail the entire time....
An over all typical short BP story. Too many holes or gaps to get a higher rating
Colin is in the Brotherhood guardian agency... he's out of the army... has gone to the agency in the witness protection he's on a Case protecting summer curly after a crime , catching up to her was a bit difficult following her through town... after the police was called to the pawn shop to break up an incident summer makes a break for it. But colin has eyes out he knows where she's gone.. not long before he picks up where she is and is able to get her to safety.. I have read all of these books except for the first one and Regan does a wonderful job with the guardian agency series I love these books I recommend them to everyone thank you Regan for letting me read and review for you..
Summer and Colin both have secret issues they are struggling with, but together they help each other face those matters and mend what’s broken in their lives. Their struggles while trying to stay ahead of the mob makes this an exciting and engaging tale, full of drama and suspense, with the inevitable build to romantic passion. The characters are well drawn, and the story is packed with fast-paced action for a quick, exciting read that you will find hard to put down. There’s a part of the storyline which I hope leaves an opening for the telling of Autumn’s story. I recommend this very appealing and highly entertaining romantic suspense!
The story was intriguing from page 1. A new assignment has come in but it's complicated. He doesn't get the details over email, he has to go in person to find out. A witness has been left on her own when her protection has been killed. Colin is tasked with finding her. I like Colin's virtual assistant, he adds quite a bit to the story. The book was an enjoyable read, especially with The Brotherhood protectors in the mix. I had some unanswered questions, but I'm hoping that they will be answered in the next chapter. I do recommend this book.
I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was excited to get into another one from this world. We get to get up close and personal with Colin which was thrilling as just one of the things I got from his story. You get other emotions but also a great run on suspense as Summer and him give us all the spots on this one. The bit of being a bodyguard I do believe he finds comes with other aspects in this case. The mystery and danger is the fuel on why this author can keep us coming back with the kick of romance that is the match keeps us in it all the way to the end.
I loved Colin and Summer as they are both strong and vulnerable at the same time, they are both trying to work through past events that have scared them in different ways. While working through their own issues Colin needs to keep Summer safe and make sure she attends court but easier said than done with dogged baddies hunting them, drones, constant moving and Summer not knowing if her sister is even still alive. Getting settled in for a satisfying read about love, determination and making it through to the other side!
This book was another Guardian Agency books that is one that you start and you can't put down. Guardians are well trained Protectors. I thought this one was very well written and on what happened to someone one reservation. It was what was terrible about what happened at such a young age.It made me cry in some parts and angry as well. I was intrigued by front the beginning and I love Regan writing. She has a way with her writing that pulls you right in and doesn't let you go until the last page.

4.5 Star. I have to say, I really enjoyed this story. They story had a steady pace and balanced the action with the romance. The main characters were likable. The plot was action filled without taking it over top. Colin’s battle scars were visual and Autumn saw the real man under the horror he experienced. Colin connected with Autumn on so many levels that I wasn’t even bothered by how quickly they fell in love. It was cool to have a red-haired hero with freckles. The only thing missing was a Epilogue.
Colin works for Guardian Agency and he's to protect Summer who is to testify against the Native Mob. She has seen her bodyguards killed in front of her so she runs. Colin finally catches up to her and we see them struggling to stay ahead of the mob. This book is fast paced and lots of action! We get to see Hank Patterson again which is always great. This book also has suspense. We get to see a little of her sister Autumn maybe we'll get to see her later in a book. Another great read by Regan!
The Guardian Agency Colin Brotherhood Protectors Regan Black
Filled with twists and turns that keeps you wondering what can happen next. Another excellent read in the Guardian Agency/ Brotherhood Protectors that keeps you reading until the end. The pairing of Colin and Summer is the perfect match as they work through their guilt of past happenings in order to survive the endless pursuit by the Native Mob. Can this end in a happy ever after for them? Definitely a book you don’t want to miss.
