This boxset contains four full length bokos as well as three short stories and follows the main character, Ariana Yates, a nineteen year old multiple Banshay, martial arts champion. Shortly after this latest win, she becomes ill and thinks she has the flu. It keeps happening and she also gets very vivid dreams, some of them very weird as she sees herself with animal paws, or being chased down a street and another stuck in an alley with a fox and wolf. She realises that she is becoming very aware of the different moon phases, especially around the full and new moon phases. One of these nights, she turns into an animal and recognises the eyes of someone that had been watching her on the street below her flat. It turns out she is a shapeshifter and this man ends up taking her under his wing and showing her their pack and the other three main members, as well as the other three recent members. Something big seems to be forewarned, as they haven’t had any new members to the pack since it started, now they have four new ones in a really short time.

The first time she shifts, in fear of danger, she turns into a fox, like the only she had seen. But there is something very unusual about her and there is more to her than any of them might have expected. She may have been able to fight very well as a human, but whether her skills will carry over to her animal, or Agrius form as it is called, will need to be seen. One of the pack does a ritual to allow her to retain her clothing after shifting as well as letting her be able to carry her two swords with her in any form, hidden from sight at all times until needed. There are numerous other packs in the city of Caerton, but no king or queen, as there is no one of royal blood anymore. There are also witches, demons, fae elementals and shapeshifter packs outside of town, as well as feral or rogue shifters. Ariana must get used to this new life and find out whether it can mix with her former human life and friends.

She soon learns she has to distance herself from those she loves, if she wants to protect them, especially if any enemies track her scent to a certain location when she visits friends. Their enemies are out to destroy them and they find out about a secretive cult that wants to destroy the whole world. She needs to embrace her new powers, but does she really want to give up her humanity and the life she had? It is a hard choice, one that many of the pack have already had to make, to protect their families. Finding out about those who change under the new moon, in the light, versus under the new moon, in the dark, also brings differences. There are many changes and powerful foes to contend with. Ancient Greek gods, ghosts and territories to be fought over.

An interesting look into shapeshifters and the world they live in, both the human realm and the other world, Hepethia, which they must keep hidden from human eyes. The soon to come battle with this secretive cult, will split the realms apart, if they cannot be defeated. The Bone Anchor pillars stop the realms being open to all and if they fall, then demons and others will be able to cross over into their realm and world. Some have already been attacked and one destroyed. Another will need to be repaired and the realms knitted back together and the veils between them closed off to the places they shouldn’t be open to. Ariana finds out information about her real parents and that they came from different packs, but were killed after she was born. They gave her the name they did for a reason, now we will see if she lives up to her true name.

Along read, but full of action, shapeshifting, battles with enemies such as demons and their Lords, The Hunger and many more. Lots of descriptive scenarios to give you a full flavour of the hidden realm, as well as a sense of the history of shifters and the world as it changed around them, once the king was defeated. Also a lot of strong family links, especially the links between pack members, but also love such as Ariana’s love with Rhys, the stranger she first saw during her championship fight and was immediately attracted to in some way. A great series that covers so much, it is difficult to try and cover in a simple review. I’m glad I got the chance to read this whole series in this way, even if it took me a bit longer than I thought it would. I would recommend it to any who love a shifter series or even a good bit of fantasy to read! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

I'm very ambivalent about this series. The blurb was very interesting but the series didn't quite live up to my expectations. It started off well enough and interesting, a young woman who discovers she is a shapeshifter is taken into the fold of a pack, where she starts to learn about that world and the various packs. There is a lot of rivalry between packs and distrust. I found the story had too many inconsistencies, some chapters were quite enthralling but others were dragged out and the plot kept chopping and changing, so, for me, it left me ambiguous
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review

Couldn't get through this

I stopped at chapter 34 got so tired of hearing the ND whine and cry about losing her humanity and giving her pack grief about killing things when she killed the most she even killed one the pack wanted to capture. She even have the I hate you flare to her supposed friend because they were going to do something that would save the pack but she didn't like such a whiney b$%&.

Excellent!

There is every type of paranormal entity imaginable, and some I never imagined, with so much non-stop action and subplots it will make your head spin. A little like Voldemort meets Lord of the Rings meets Metaverse. I’m glad I had the whole box set to read at one time. It saved me the reading time I would have wasted getting each one separately. My only regret is that it ended. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

I really wanted more from this series after reading the description. However, I found the main character ( a female lead) to have a terrible angsty, angry attitude. She seemed to whine a lot and fight against the pack about different ideas and actions.

At times the books were extremely slow and other times I was lost as the plot didn't seem to shift so much as it seemed to change completely.

Al this being said - I have read other things by this author and really liked them. So....maybe it's just me at this particular time reading this series. And, maybe, considering that I have liked other things by this author I need to re-visit this in the future. And if my opinion changes at that time I will amend the review.

Book One
Fate of the Blue Moon

Your name is Ariana.
You are a Banshay instructor and have won another competition and in the process meet Rhys, an instructor of another form of martial arts. Ariana likes Rhys and wishes to pursue a friendship with him.
Fortune does not favor this relationship as Ariana finds she is a shape shifter. She has much to learn in this new life and has little time for relationships. She is two weeks into her new life when everything falls apart.
This is a very good story that will continue in book two.
Ghosts of Winter
Book Two
The home of Blue Moon has been destroyed and four newly turned members are left to continue on. Their loss is terrible.

As a new pack they try to make sense of what happened and discover who is responsible. Things happen during the cold dark winter such as the funeral of the Blue Moon members and the addition of a patron, an elemental with the power of electricity named Unchained Lightning.
On the suggestion of others they change the name of the pack to The Lightning Lords.
There is also A problem with a demon known as the Plague Doctor and his minions - the rats.
A new pack member joins the group, Claws-of-Lead.

From the Ashes
A short story

This story gives an interesting background for Father Ash.

Demons of the Past
Book Three

Never a dull moment.
There are witches, demons, families broken apart, missing bodies, the packs starting to work together and unfortunately war is on the horizon.

The Storm Riders' Vigil
A short story

The very moving
story behind the death of Ariana's friend and fellow Beserker, Fire Talon, and his pack the Storm Riders.

Rise of the Furies
Book 4

This book is the best of the series. There is so much action. Really great and dreadful events take place. The end of this book is not what you would expect.

Dark Echoes
Short story.

This short story comes at the conclusion of the series. It is well written.
I personally could have done without it. I don't think it fits in this position.

Sadly, this book has come to an end.
I have read it twice and totally enjoyed it.
I would love to see a continuation of this story.
I received it as an advance reader's copy.

Shifters Prime Caerton: A Dark Urban Fantasy

The town of Caerton has many changes Goodreads GROW through!
There will be wars, secrets, love, and the loss of loved ones!
One shifter will finally find out where she came from!
She will meet her mate only for him taken by another tribe!
Blue Moon will change so much including their name many times!
Outcasts do find their way back in and some of them are not what they seem to be!
Will these characters continue on?
I sure do hope so!
If you could create characters and worlds such as these you would be enjoying the scenes, people, and creatures.
The battles are numerous and basically applied to gain revenge.
There is a secret world with a thin veil that separates the world of humans and creatures, the humans do not know about the world of creatures or the war that continues.
Who is at the head of the war's just try the Gods of Atlantis, Asguard, and a few things thrown In between the gods and the humans.
They try to hold onto their humanity and try to save the world of the humans while the gods fight amongst themselves.
I highly recommend this box set to anyone who enjoys great creations of war, characters, creatures, magic, and just a tad bit of fantasy and mythology all thrown together.
This series is a 2 X's read/listen for me!

This is a great series with plenty of action, adventure, danger, suspense, mystery, and romance to whet the appetite. I loved the storyline and the author did a phenomenal job building this world and all of the gifted characters. I like strong women characters and the author really delivered. Ariana Yates aka Stalker-of-Night’s-Shadow was great, a real bad ass with the fighting skills to back it up.
This was a truly amazing read where a new upcoming pack, the Lightning Lords, find themselves in many dangerous situations, most of which is due to their predecessors, that they continuously manage to get through accomplishing feats that many of the established packs were unable to achieve. Each book comes together for a grand finale, the big showdown that you do not won’t to miss. You should definitely read this series you won’t regret it.

This series is phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised ms must say I did cry during this series for happiness as well as sadness. I felt the emotion Stalker was feeling, which I’m sure that was goal! Great job by the way! I enjoyed the box set better that just reading one here and there. I had already read the first book, but I reread it so get familiarized with it again. I love it when a book can surprise me and my predictions for what’s to happen next is NOT what was expected. Thia is a great series to read.

I've been a fan of this series ever since the first book was originally released, so jumped at the chance to obtain a copy of the whole series, including previously uncollected short stories.

Over the years I've reread the whole series multiple times, and it never fails to drag me on an emotional roller-coaster to match the most intense theme park ride, bringing a normally stoic man to tears at the lowest points, but feeling invincible when our heroes are winning.

A must-read series, and I hope there's more to come some day.

This series is fantastic, I had a difficult time putting the book down to sleep it was so captivating, really well written and the different types of characters were well developed and had strong chemistry. Packed with action, adventure, mystery, intrigue, betrayal and many twists and turns it is sometimes impossible to know which way is up. Really liked the way the author brought their vision and the characters to life and I look forward to reading more of her stories.
