She was his first everything…including his first heartbreak.
Fletcher Crawford has been on the run from his past. His job takes him around the world to exotic locales, and he enjoys the female hospitality wherever he lands. Until this playboy scorns the wrong woman. Grounded back in Oak Creek, Fletcher arrives just in time to step up for a Crawford family crisis.
Thistle McMurray never wanted to take care of anyone else. She spent years building her career, avoiding her hometown like the plague. But one phone call changes everything, and plunges her back into the heart of her darkest memories. Even worse, she runs into Fletcher at every turn.
Can the two former lovers bury the past and find forgiveness? Will they get to know one another after all this time and find connection once more? Plunge is the fourth and final stand-alone in the Oak Creek small-town series.
If you love second-chance romance, sizzling passion, and heartwarming characters, you’ll devour Plunge.
This took me forever to slog through. I found Fletcher annoying. And there was opportunity here for Thistle to show the strong successful woman she is to her her father. BUT, I wanted more about her job and there was a whole story point regarding her father that is completely missed here. Why is he gone so much and expecting her to pick up the slack?? Why is the mom so accepting of it?
Out of the all the stories in this series, this was my favourite. I liked that the background characters remained mostly in the background and the focal point of the story were Thistle and Fletcher. Reading the whole series at once, I got a taste of the small-town life, and I must say, it's not for me. Busybodies constantly in your business? No, thank you! I like my solitary, urban life.
Many angles were left unexplored in this book. Thistle is forced back home to care for her Mother who has had a stroke. Her Father and Brother are both in her Mother's life, yet both men are unable to help with her Mother's care. WHY?!? Thistle is a strong CPA - brilliant and successful enough to own a gullwing Mercedes is not strong enough to ask some questions?
Fletcher has every reason to have trust issues - and I am glad that he worked through that.
The supporting characters of Oak Creek are entertaining - but the huge gaping holes in the central plot were a major issue.
Fletcher and Thistle have such amazing chemistry physically but their jobs and the travel for them put them at odds for a sustainable relationship. Misunderstandings and miscommunication between them creates more havoc. Fortunately there is something worth fighting for and even their fights are productive. A great read and a wonderful conclusion to a series that is hard to forget.
This series was a well written easy read, the characters are likable, people of values, and a strong family connection make for a stress free fun read.
Thistle, an international corporate CPA, goes back to her hometown to take care of her mother and runs into Fletcher, owner of an international sports media production company, who was her high school boyfriend. As the story progresses things get complicated, history repeats itself, and breaking old patterns will be the key to their future. Lainey Davis’ Plunge is another winner for her Oak creek series. Learning about Fetcher and Thistle while catching up with the other couples is a great ride through the small town.
AMAZING! This was another well crafted story that blends in perfectly with the rest of this series. Exciting with endless intrigue and amazing edgy chemistry. I enjoyed this read and would absolutely recommend it to others.
