Christie Watson, private investigator extraordinaire, has only just gotten used to the small-town life in Sleepy Creek. After all, she’s barely had time to relax since she’s solved her mother's cold case.
When Christie heads out to visit Griselda, her bestie, hankering for a delicious Bacon Burger, she walks into a crime scene instead. The newest restaurateur in town is dead… poisoned, and he just so happens to be Griselda’s biggest burger competition.
Chris’ best friend is the prime suspect. She has to solve the mystery or see Grizzy take the fall for a crime she didn’t commit. Not on her watch!

I hate to give this a two but…. Christie was soooooo unlikeable in this book it ruined it for me, especially after having read the previous series. Did she go through a personality transplant?? The murder mystery was good, I guessed the killer but yeah.. Christie ( SMH) 👎🏾👎🏾🚫
Love these characters! They are all quirky and fun to get to know. The small town atmosphere is just classic, with lots of busybodies. Ms. Point has a smooth writing style that makes it so enjoyable. If you like strong female protagonists, small town action and a little romance, then this book is for you.
I was very disappointed in this story and wish that I wasn't. I have read all of Ms. Point's mysteries (minus 1 in a very new series but it's already on my Kindle waiting for me to read) and I have enjoyed them. The characters are crazy and eccentric and always there for friends/family. The frequent mentions of hamburgers and donuts are a bonus. These are my issues with this book....Christie was just so unpleasant to basically everyone in the book. She isn't outwardly affectionate as we saw in the first Sleepy Creek series but this time around she was just short tempered and often rude and it was annoying. Next...how is it that Christie who is a fired police officer now private detective with lots of resources at her finger tips does absolutely NOTHING in regards to a background check on her supposed cousin Agatha. I mean she knows zero about her father but she just takes 'Agatha the ridiculous' at face value and assumes they are related allowing her into her life. There are definite editing issues especially at around 60% when she has Griselda laughing at something but she's not even in the room during this time. Finally...the word solicitor is not used in Ohio for attorney EVER. I am a born and raised Ohio girl and know this to be truth. I will continue being a reader of Ms. Point's because she is sweet and I enjoy her stories and characters but I really do hope for the best the next time around.
Christie and the gang are at it again. Christie thought the town was quiet. Not anymore. She receives a letter from a cousin Aggy that she didn’t know she had. Aggy informs Christie that she will be coming to town to learn law enforcement from her so that she can collect the money Aggy’s father left her in his will. At the same time, a new restaurateur, Colin Butler, is opening “The Burger Hangout” across from the Burger Bar run by Griselda. The very obnoxious man comes into the restaurant and bellows for Grizzy informing her that she will be out of business and bankrupt within the month.
Things go from bad to worse when tragedy strikes the Burger Bar. Colin and his wife come into the Burger Bar and have a burger. Colin begins to grasp for air gripping his throat. Someone had murdered Colin and fingers were pointing at her BFF. Follow along as Christie and Aggy solve the murder. There were so many twists and turns to keep your interest! Join the Sleepy Creek neighborhood and help solve the case. This was a fantastic read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

From ex-cop to P.I. Christy Watson's PI business is slow, her first case was a missing cat. Opening her mail to a letter from a cousin she was unaware of, did not improve her mood. She went to the Burger Bar for a chat and some comfort food, only to witness Griselda being harassed by the owner of the new restaurant soon to open.....and things went downhill faster the next day.. Her cousin showed and then, that man died...in the Burger Bar. Her cousin reason for coming was to learn to be a PI as dictated by her father's will, without any temperament for the job and all Christy wants to do is clear her friend Grizzy. A eccentric cast of characters populate the pages and some of the situations just make you want to slap somebody...mostly the cousin. Somehow they muddle through and eliminate some suspects, but are focused on the wrong one, until Christy has an aha moment and is able to access information newly available to solve the crime. I received an ARC to peruse gratis and offer my opinion freely.
Christie Watson is a private investigator in the small-town of Sleepy Creek, Ohio. An unexpected letter arrives from a woman claiming to be Christie’s cousin. Agatha Dupin, said cousin, arrives the same day. Soon after arriving the women witness the death of a customer in the restaurant of Christie’s best friend. Gossip mongers are out in force blaming Griselda (Grizzy) for the man’s demise. The police also make Grizzy their prime suspect. Christie makes it a priority to investigate the death and clear her friend’s name.
This is the first book in the Sleepy Creek Cozy series, a follow-up series to the Burger Bar Mysteries. I had not read the Burger Bar Mysteries and at times I felt like I was missing something. The characters are well-developed. I already purchased the Burger Bar Mysteries series to go back and read them because I want to know more about Christie’s past. The setting isn’t described in depth, but you still get that small town feel. I recommend this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Christie Watson is a former Boston Homicide detective and is now a Private Investigator in her Sleepy Creek hometown
Her Bestie Grizzy is at risk with mayhem around a new restaurant opening across the street from the Burger Bar. The proprietor is a mean and insulting guy not looking to build bridges in town - and way too many folks have motives for dissatisfaction with him.
Liam is being his usual unsupportive self. For a small time cop with limited homicide experience, he seems more interested in being hot and overprotective of Christie than in utilizing her skills.
Too bad with her strong affection and investigations to protect Sleepy Creek Christie hasn’t managed to make it a decently paying job yet. Lucky for Christie has good friends and cats around her!
Point's easy reads are always on point, pun intended, with no need to drag on like other mysteries. Longer than a bite sized novella but shorter than most cozies, coming in at just over 150 pages, makes this one that can be finished in a day. When Christie's best friend Grizzy finds herself the prime suspect in a murder at her burger bar, she will do whatever it takes to find the real killer even if it jeopardizes her relationship with boyfriend/cop Liam.
On a side note, even though this is a burger mystery, it ended up leaving me craving pizza instead.

Christy's private investigator business is rather slow, then she gets a letter from a cousin she never heard of wanting to learn some law enforcement so she can collect from her father's will. Then there is the new burger place opening in town that causes problems for Griselda and the Burger Barn. The biggest problem is when Colin, the new owner of Griselda's competition comes in the Burger Barn has a burger and dies!!! Can Christy and Aggy ( her cousin) and the gang prove that Griselda is innocent? Who did kill Colin? That is for you to read to find out who.

I am very happy that the gang from the Burger Bar Mysteries are back in this new series. This series starts out with Christie finding out that she has a long lost relative that she knew nothing about. After meeting this relative, nothing will be the same for her again. She is now a private investigator who helps out the police department when they are in need of some additional help. This time she is left out & is not happy. Pick up a copy to see what happens. I look forward to reading the next book!
The Bacon Burger Murder is the first book in the "A Sleepy Creek Cozy Mystery" series and is a fantastic start to this new series.
I love that Christie is back in this new series as a private investigator. She did not expect her first case to involve her friend Griselda. With unknown relatives, quirky characters, mystery and mayhem, can Christie and the gang keep Grizzy out of jail?
This is a terrific follow-up to the Burger Bar series and I am looking forward to reading more. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
Christie is contacted unexpectedly by her cousin, Aggy, who wants Christie to mentor her. At the restaurant, the obnoxious owner of a new cafe in town argues with Christie’s best friend, Grizzy. When he drops dead in The Burger Bar, Christie must use her PI skills to find the truth, even if it places her relationship with Liam in jeopardy. I enjoyed The Burger Bar Mysteries, and I’m looking forward to more Sleepy Creek Mysteries.

Christie Watson leaps into action when Griselda, her bestie, becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a rival. The police, including her boyfriend Liam, don't want her involved this time but she's going to make sure the right person gets arrested. It doesn't help that a long-lost cousin shows up to complicate everything.
This is a good start to a series. The people in Christie's small town are pretty typical of the variety of personalities you will find in towns that size. They add humor to the story. I especially like Poirot and Curly Fries.
I only read cozy mysteries that have at least several books in a series. I got this one that only had two books available because I knew there would be more in the series. I have not been disappointed with the first one and look forward to the second book and all that follow! Anything I would say to give readers a hint about how good this first offering was would have a spoiler. You'll have to read it and see!!!
It should be 20 gold stars for this amazing series. Follow Christie as she navigates through the clue to help her bestie girl friend out of a murder wrap. She has to step carefully so she don't become the next victim and not lose her Detective Boyfriend in the process because this case hit a little to close to home and too lose her bestie forever. I recommend this fun series for anyone who likes a fast and funny at times series.
The author has given us some of our favorite characters and introduced us to some new ones. The story flows smoothly as Christie and her "crew" try to find the person responsible for the murder of Colin since all fingers point to her best friend Grizzy.

Well I found another New Author in this Sleepy Creek place. Christie has her hands full trying to find clue as to who killed the new compaction across from her friends bar and grill. After a public outburst the day before and then eating the next day at Christies friend place only to wind up dead well it really looks bad for her friend.
Christi witnesses a man dying suddenly in her friend Grizzies Cafe and her boyfriend cop Liam does not want her help on the which only inspires Christi to investigate. But she has her cousin, Agatha, show up expecting to be Christi's new trainee. Love reading this Start to Christi's spin off series
Another great mystery story from Rosie. The right amount of suspense, great characters and a well written cozy mystery story line. A great series to add to your reading list.

I love your books.Ive read the burger murder collection and am enjoying the bacon 🍔mystery. I love the characters, they are priceless.I'm positive that the next books I read will be amazing. Please keep them coming.
Another new author for me and a cute story. The characters were believable, the plot easily followed and the end surprising. What more could you ask. I recommend this book and feel its worth your time and effort.
I'm enjoying the storyline and characters, but the editing "misses" are driving me crazy! The wrong their/they're/there, missing words, added words... all of those things take my mind out of the story.
This was a fun short read, I laughed out loud a few times. I did struggle with some of the characters names & the mystery was extremely predictable, but I still enjoyed it!
Christie is back in action with her cousin Aggy shadowing her in hopes of gaining an inheritance. But Christie's skills (and patience) will be tested as Griselda is suspected of murdering a rival restaurant owner.
The author has revisited the setting of her burger bar mysteries. Christie is now a P.I. and when her best friend is a suspect in the murder she fells the need to investigate.
