Making A Choice

On their way to Athion, Rogue and Vex have no idea what lies in wait for them and Xavier is spending the journey back to try and convince the other two Athion’s that handing over Rogue to be experimented on is wrong. When he fails to make headway with them he hatches his own plans.

This series of books are like chapters of a serial rather than full books. The story is good and the pace is excellent, along with the sex scenes, however there is little information given out about the characters, they are simply sketches. However, I can’t stop reading. This is Debbie Cassidy’s superpower, she writes great stories, you can’t help but want to know what happens next.

I think if I didn’t have Kindle Unlimited I would have walked away from the series, because I’m not sure I would think the price worth the number of pages. However, as I do have KU, I’m happy to enjoy the pure escapism of this series.

Murderer? Or Moron ?

To the question above, I say almost Classic TSTL.
Ok, in this “series “, that clearly feels like one book that was strategically cut up into three., we get tiny a tiny bit further into the story but NOT MUVH.
Their story is as strategic as it is shallow. If, if that had been done as a true story purely for entertainment value , it not onl6 would be one whole book, instead of cut into three parts but
But it woolens hav more depth and more character development.
There is little to none here. While Tide and Lore ( Tide ? Seriously ? D bag w/a stick up his derrière or not, how the heck am I supposed to take what sounds like a really sour faced guy seriously when every time I see his name I think of detergent and the colorful pods it comes in? Huh? Ok, sometimes ocean 🌊 waves but mostly colorful blue and orange pods) Tide and Lore seem pretty much true to their personalities but everything is too condensed and moving to fast to feel real.
Xavier, I want to like but his “love” for Rogue ( Dear lord, I am soo slow,I just now got it . Xavier and Rogue ? Does som eons have an X’-men fetish’s going on ? Geez, first the name that makes you think of detergent pods and now the X-men) 🙄
Feels too fast and almost convoluted since we rarely get anyone’s POV other than Rogues ( and that girl is just about willingly ignorant most of the time.) and all their supposed getting to know you time was off page
Again the only character that seems real and has common sense at times for me was Vex. I felt like he was the only one who was what you saw was what you got, but even his relationship with h Rogue was off.
All these idiots have supposedly been with around each other for over a month or soo now but that still felt like strangers not only to me but to each other . For the most part. Xavier,Tide and Lore are supposed to be “brothers” in their hearts ♥️ but honestly I didn’t feel their connection any more than I felt anyone else’s ...
Rogue doesn’t feel like she’s assembling a harem, she just feels like she’s being a teammate again ,only this time she’s actually having sex occasionally with two of the men instead of the men having sex w/each other.
She says she loves Vex and Xavier but it doesn’t feel like anything at all. I don’t feel anything special. No sweet words whispered back and forth. No intimate moments. Nothing on page that leads you to feel like there is anything special between them. Deep sigh. Other than all men willing to give up all they know to protect her ( Vex doesn’t count,he has nothing to lose in this sense) but it doesn’t ring true. There’s no depth here for it to make sense. And the ONLY time Rogue has sex with them is when her “heat” demands it. Seriously ? Your supposed to be in love with to men but your not sharing a bed or your body with them unless your “heat” demands it and even then you avoid it if you can ? How the heck is the BS a “romance” or any type of harem ?
Then you have Rogue always being up into situations where ONLY she can save the day because she’s soo “special “. Making the males look and feel almost totally and completely useless. Even after saving his life and toting him up and down a mountainside Tide is still wanting to put his duty first and hand her over as a lab rat 🐀. WTH?!?!?
Only once out numbered by the others does he acquiesces to their wishes.. shakes head. And that’s at least half way thru the story.
Rogue. I just can’t like her, she’s almost willingly naïve at times knowing the guts are keeping secrets and things aren’t adding up but no matter the situation and not matter what’s happened to her she still blithely goes along and LETS things willingly blindside her. She doesn’t take The initiative to find out what’s going on around her what is always willing to put her life in danger for others. Seriously,WTF ?!?!!
Then near the end in an insanely classic and completely TSTL move, she’s been captured by the insane B that raped her and took malicious delight in torturing her on Vesper ,is laying unconscious, where the only intelligent thing a true “survivor “ would do its KILL HIM,coz if you don’t he WILL make you wish you had. This insanely moronic classic TSTL says,”No ,I’m not a murderer.” WTH ?!?! This insane monster has raped you and killed your friends for fun and you KNOW he will only do more and you think leaving him alive is the moral high ground ? Like I said TSTL.
PS. if out “h” is soo infertile how the Hades is she going into a “heat” cycle ? Her body can make her faster and stringer etc. but it can’t see she’s “ infertile” ?
I don’t know what this is . But. It’s . Not. A . Romance.
Even as a KU , I can’t recommend. If you like RH try Amy Sumida first Book n most series are free and she’s KU.

If you are not a fan of Sci-fi, Debbie can make you one with this series. It is no secret that I think she is an amazing author. I pretty much love every single thing she writes. I am not a huge fan of Sci-fi, but if the story is good I will read it. From the get go I was loving Rogue. She is such a great character to read. She is so sure of herself, full of fire, knows what she wants, and fights to live. She is a strong female lead, but most of Debbie's characters are.

In Rebel: Planet Athion, we have Rogue, Vex, Xavier, Tide and Lore, in their ship heading to Planet Athion. They are all getting to know one another, some more than others. But is everyone getting along? Is there jealousy? Is everything as it seems? When they are forced to crash land, what will they find? Has Rogue traded one bad situation for another? Or has she found freedom. She has a fight on her hands, and not just what is on this new planet, but who is coming for her.

As always, Debbie is an excellent storybuilder. Rebel is a fast paced, thrill ride. Filled with danger, action, suspense, hot sexy times, and an engaging plot. If you havent read this series yet, give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

I gave it 3.5

I enjoyed REBEL a bit more than ROGUE. In Rogue, I felt like I was missing something as I had not read anything in the Planet Athion world and I felt like we could have used more information. REBEL felt like it was part of it's own world.

The characters are all interesting so far. They all have their issues and struggles which make them more likable to me. The harem gets some traction in REBEL. It seems this harem is moving along faster than some of Debbie's other series, so if you like a little bit of a faster burn you are in luck.

The books in the Survivor's Heart series are very short and move at a fast pace. Things happen quickly with not a whole lot of build up or detail. I didn't feel the lack of detail as much in REBEL which was nice, but I still feel like we would benefit from just a little bit more. I'm still enjoying the storyline and I will continue to read this series.

A solid 4 stars from me.

Rogue continues to be all kinds of powerful and kick ass. I love that she holds her own and even bests the guys with her powers and abilities.

This book focuses on Rogue's future and who if the guys are on their side

Why 4 star and not 5, I hear you ask? As this is part of a multi author universe and I tried the first book in the whole collection, and didn't like it, I just can't really get down with the world building as much as Debbie's normal books. But all the things that make me love her as an author are here.

After escaping the mining planet and certain death in the fights, Rogue finds her self on a ship with three Athions and a Trad but not is all as it seems. Has she given up one horror for another? I've really enjoyed the stories in the Survivors Heart series and this was certainly no exception. This series is definitely one I have found hard to put down and have so far read each story in single sittings. If you love reverse harem, sci-fi and strong female main characters, then Rebel is definitely for you. 5* read

What an amazing book! I knew it was going to be awesome just based on the first installment alone, but this was so much more! It has lots of hot moments, some alien love moments, and then some omg run for your life will they even survive moments. Be prepared to block off time to read in one sitting or you’ll be grouchy at whoever interrupted you

Jail break

This one starts off a little jump forward from book one but not too much that I’m confused.

Definitely hits the intense factors, way more steamy scenes, and revealing of a few flaws, but otherwise good.

Does leave on a cliffhanger, but the world building is good, and the characters are developing quickly.

I've just recently plunged into the sci-fi genre and Debbie Cassidy is my favorite for urban fantasy. It was a no brainer to read her Survivor Heart series. I love Rogue as she is tough and doesn't take orders from anyone. Her alien companions are handsome and protective. This series is steamy and I fell in insta-love with all the characters.

Action packed!!

Spice: 3/5

This sequel was insane. Just full of action in such a short period of time. The guys coming to realize what was right and falling in love. Honestly, a few times i was tempted to throw this book at my wall because I was so on edge. Luckily it was a short book, so i could finish it in one sitting with no lingering anxiety.

Love Debbie Cassidy and all that she writes. The Planet Athion collaboration just isnt my favorite and I've read a few authors that have contributed. That being said, Debbie's were definitely the ones I enjoyed most.

Part of the Planet Athion multi-author series, Rebel is the second installment of Debbie Cassidy’s Survivor’s Heart series. In her first book, Rogue, the background is set on Vesper V, characters are identified, and we get introduced to Rogue and her fight for survival, as well as allies whom will aid her. This second book, Rebel, picks up where the first leaves off as Rogue and her rescuers are on their ship traveling to their home planet, Athion. We get a better understanding of the developing relationships between her and the men that accompany her as well as the revelation of hidden agendas, shocking surprises, and more horrors that await them on an unknown planet when a ship malfunction delays their trip home. As Rogue begins to learn the truth behind her rescue will she have traded one nightmare for another? Or will she find the freedom she seeks? One thing is for certain, her fight is far from over. If she and her men have any chance at all they will have to band together and give it their all.

Rebel is an attention-grabber from the first page as we are pulled into the developing relationships between Rogue and the men. We get to read multiple viewpoints so there is a better grasp of the overall situation and emotional development/turmoil of the characters. The sexual tension also ramps up with them all being in close quarters for an extended duration and there are some yummy scenes to enjoy. The story is fast-paced, full of action, suspense, danger, engaging characters, and a well-written storyline. Rebel ends on a cliffhanger that will be concluded in Survivor, the final book of Cassidy’s Survivor’s Heart series.

If you enjoy Sci-Fi, reverse harem, and just awesome books in general, you definitely want to grab this series and the others in the universe. Starting the series from the very beginning will give you a better understanding of the entire Planet Athion series and each individual author’s series contribution.

The reading order is as follows:

1) Marissa Farrar – Darkest Skies - start of the invasion and sets up the overall plot of the series
2) Lily Harlem – Equinox – takes place on one of the spaceships
3) Angel Lawson – Pioneer – takes place on Planet Athion
4) Debbie Cassidy – Survivor’s Heart series – Rogue (book 1) – takes place on an asteroid – Vesper V and Rebel (book 2) – takes place on a ship and foreign outpost

* Marissa Farrar also has a spin-off series connected to this world – The Tradrych Strain – takes place on Planet Tradrych

This is Planet Athion Sci Fi Cassidy style and its freakin awsom. Like the first book this one grabs you and holds on so that you absolutely cannot put this book down until its finished. Luckily being a novella its not a long book but unluckily it means that once you finish it you are left completely desperate for the next instament.

Rouge has been abducted from her home planet and after an unusual reaction to a fertility drug she is sent to a planet where she has to fight to survive literally - In the first book she had to escape this planet but in the second book she has to fight for survival and the right to exist rather than being sent to a lab to be experimented on. Not quite as fast paced as the first book because there are less fight scenes but its still faster paced than most authors books plus as this one builds on the relationships and because of that the heat level is increased which provides a different kind of action for your enjoyment.

I wont give you any spoilers so you will need to read the book to see what happens next.

Planet Athion is a world/universe where several writers have collections of books and this is the fastest paced book so far to date and one of my absolute favourites.

Rogue's crazy adventure does not stop at her escape. After learning the plans of the Athions, a little rebellion from Xavier leads them to land forcefully on a satellite planet, inhabited by predatory creatures. And they are not the only ones who hunt them.
These fast paced novelettes do not have the usual quality of world building the other series by this author have - simply not enough space for that, and I think many details are also covered in other books from Planet Athion series, written by other authors. Nevertheless, the books keep enough tension and intensity to really engage the reader, and the whole setup combined with the characters is definitely worth a shot. Yes, I would love to know the characters more than I do now, but I enjoy their interactions and development of their relationships nevertheless. The slowly increasing heat level is also present, and I would love to see what solution will Rogue and her companions find to escape the Athion government and its plans.

It’s beating up in the second installment of Survivors Heart series 🔥

Rogue has escaped the gladiator ring and landed herself, Vex and Xavier on a ship headed to Athion. But is freedom truly the only thing awaiting them at end of this journey? Tide, Lore and Xavier are harboring a secret from Rogue that could tear the ship into upheaval and as the emotions rise so does the danger.

Steamy scenes, back-to-back action and a heroine that doesn’t take no for an answer, is Rebel wrapped into a pretty gut punching package. I firmly believe that Murphy’s Law applies to poor Rogue, honestly it should probably be her motto. The chick just can’t catch a break however it does lessen her burdens to know that Vex and Xavier have her back. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for our little spit fire next.

FYI: If you are not a fan for Reverse Harem this book is NOT for you.

im doing joint reviews because this trilogy should have just been one book....

yer
middle of the story kind of a book but understandable, i can follow the plot enough. i read the VERY first book which helped me get a grasp on things, i understood most of the references and back story just from that. the MC is a altered human female who has been stolen from earth to be a breeder however the bad alien drug made her an infertile warrior instead of a lush breeder but she still gets " heat" cycles instead of periods where she is all about the D.. the books are ridiculously short but do have steam and sizzle, i wouldn't say no to these guys. its worth a read but on the whole probs read the other books, they are probably pretty good as well.

i will add that this MC is no wilting damsel, she kicks butt where she can.

This is such a great series. This is the second book in Debbie Cassidy’s Planet Athion contribution. Debbie has definitely re-kindled my interest in sci-fi! This book picks up where we left off with Rouge and the men . When circumstances take a surprising turn and they all find themselves on a not so friendly planet, bonds are tested, secrets are revealed and the adventure continues with a perfect amount of steam, action and drama and intrigue that is true Debbie Cassidy style. I was absolutely engrossed in this book from the very first page. This author has such a talent at describing people and landscapes in the perfect amount detail that makes it feel like you are right there in the book!

The second novella in Debbie Cassidy’s contribution to the Planet Athion world of books continues Rogue’s story from where she was at the end of part one. It was a quick read and I’m impressed by just how much story the author can pack into the relatively short length of these installments. It doesn’t allow for a ton of character information or relationship building, and as usual the emotional connection is too fast for me, but I definitely enjoy what is there for all of those things, including the steam. It definitely has Ms. Cassidy’s signature fast-pace and well-balanced blend of action and romance. I liked how this second one ended, not on a cliffhanger but still setting up the next part of the story in a way that has you wanting to find out what happens next.

This is an intense continuation to this series by the talented Debbie Cassidy! I love that this is s different type of story to everything else coming out...yes it is part of other stories by different authors, however I am only reading Debbie’s books and even though I would benefit from reading them it is not required to understand and love this series! I just love that the FMC is independent, highly capable and powerful above the guys! She knows what she wants and she fights for it! This book was action packed, intense, emotional and captivating..I am excited to read more!! Highly recommended

Fantastic read. This book takes off from Rebel escaping with two teammates and meeting two new guys. The story focuses on building the knowledge and relationship of rebel and the guys. They travel, crash land, survive on a planet full of dangers and finally battle yet again the guard Trads.

Definitely a great second book, this series has to be one of my favorite in the Athion world. Can't wait to read the third one and find out if Rebel is gonna accept the Lore and Tide (and if Tide is redeemable for being a jerk).

10/10 highly recommend

One awesome nonstop ride! Love this series!

There’s sci-fi and space travel, and Rogue has her hands full just trying to survive, but the men in her life make it worth it. The planet they met on, where the prison was located is sending out her abusive guard Marrick to retrieve her. They end up running and fighting for their lives. I cannot wait to find out what happens next. Read this is one sitting!! Debbie Cassidy writes gold when it comes to any genre with RH.

Sci-fi awesomeness

Rebel is book 2 in Debbie Cassidy’s arc in the Planet Athion multi author series. Book 1 set the scene for Survivors Heart world, book 2 actually selves into the characters and starts building their relationship. There’s so much action happening in this book and it ends so 😱 I can’t wait for the last book I’m ready for Rogue and her guys to get a hea.
