This book is currently in my daughter's library. It contains color pictures of different types of fish as well as list the type of each. My daughter likes the pictures (she's a month and a half). I like the fact that it is educational. And my cats wish that the fish were real so that they could eat them. Sorry, kitties.
I've owned What Is a Fish?, by David Eastman, author and Lynn Sweat, illustrator since the early 1990s when I owned and directed a large preschool. This was a favorite with the children because many of them had gone fishing with their parents. We were on the Oregon Coast and fishing was a big activity in the area.
Used it through out my career with many of the classes that I taught until I retired. It was always a favorite for me because of the colorful pictures, the names of fish next each picture and the information about both fresh and salt water fish. Great educational presentation and eye catching for young children in a tope that caught their interest; in other words a winner to further their reading skills at an early age.
