My Review:

Cherished was the next novella in the series that I needed to read so I can get to the next full length novel. These novellas are either a hit or a miss and unfortunately this one was a huge miss. I am not sure exactly what it was or if it was just a combination of different things but it just didn't work for me all that much. First off does EVERY heroine in this series have to be curvy? lol its kinda getting annoying honestly. Especially since the covers don't showcase this at all. So to me they are fit and healthy. And another issue I am having is so many heroines having the WORST self esteem. Its starting to just rub me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong I adore these books and will continue to read them because they are like the best catnip however, can we not have healthy heroines inside and out? It just seems like we are only getting one type of heroine in this series. Hopefully the heroines will get a bit better or I probably just need to ignore the things that drive me nuts. And the angsty moments between these two was just super annoying. I just didn't feel their connection in any way and was hoping for more. I know its a novella so it can be hard sometimes but probably my least favorite of the series so far.

Bridget Slaten needs a date to her sister’s wedding. On top of that a fake fiancé would come in handy as well. She tries to convince Serena to give her Adam because she lost a spleen but her luck has run out.

Will Daley wants to get closer to Bridget he just doesn’t know how. When he eavesdrops on a conversation he knows that he needs to be sneaky he convinces all other Doms not to take Bridget up on her offer.

Both are at the moment in a difficult time in their lives but timing might always be bad. After Will talks to the resident psychologist that it might not be a good idea but in the end Bridget says yes. The decision is made.

“I take it that was an argument between your conscience and your penis, and your penis seems to have won.”

So they are off to Hawaii for her sister’s wedding. Bridget’s father is a self-righteous prat and he deserves everything he got.

Compared to the other books this is very demure and I enjoyed the beginning of the book but Will’s behaviour just got on my nerves too much. Love teamwork it is all the same. No Will it isn’t the same.

I'm not sure if my expectations had been a tad too high or this didn't compare to the previous books in the series. I HATE giving less than 3 stars to my favorite authors... But this really didn't work out for me. I think it was too sweet, too smooth, even for a novella. It was more vanilla than I anticipated; the BDSM scenes didn't come into the story until nearly the end of the book.

Dr. Will Daley is a brilliant neurosurgeon who got a perfect score on his SATs despite an unstable home life (including an absent father and a drug addicted mother). Bridget Slaten is a successful writer of erotic romance novels who has been disowned by her family for her scandalous profession and criticized by her family for her plus size shape. When Bridget's sister gets married, Bridget needs a date to the wedding -- especially since her sister has told everyone that Bridget is engaged. Will agrees to be Bridget's date and help her explore her sexual fantasies, but when things get serious Bridget will have to convince the man who doesn't believe in love that it really exists.

Poor Bridget. Aside from her sister, her family is hideous. Thankfully she finds Will, who seems like the perfect guy (except for his aversion to the words "I love you"). The whole book is entertaining and enjoyable, even though it's basically a giant romance novel cliche with a BDSM twist.

3.5* Because it is Lexi Blake's M&M

I'm still going thru & loving my Masters & Mercenaries series. This was the Doc Dom Will Daley. We haven't seen much of him. This little Novella was OK for what it was. I liked seeing Serena but other than her, we didn't get any of our regulars. Oh Ian & crew showed up for her sisters wedding. This book would have been much better if it would have taken place more at Sanctum & just wasn't all in Hawaii & her their apartments. Other than missing my crew, it was good. LOVED Bridget & once Will pulled his head outta his ass, he was good too.

Bridget from The Men with the Golden Cuffs (Masters and Mercenaries, #2) and Will from Dungeon Games (Masters and Mercenaries, #6.5) get their very own romance.

The Good, The Bad and Everything in Between

-I do like this ‘verse: full disclosure, I am a Lexi Blake fan and I’ve enjoyed her Masters & Mercenaries series for a good long while. When this pre-order showed up on my kindle, I rushed to finish up what I was reading to get to this one. I love the glimpse of previous couples living their own HEAs and this one is no exception.

-Great chemistry and hot sex: something Ms. Blake does well is steamy sex scenes and considering this is a novella, there was a good balance between sex and story development and I never felt as if there was too much or too little.

-Likeable characters: I haven’t loved all the novellas, but the last couple have been fun to read, with slightly different takes on the Alpha Dom. Will has a need for control, but he’s a stealth Top, helping Bridget without being so domineering that she completely ignores him. Bridget is only submissive in the bedroom, and is pretty bratty, which I enjoyed. Bridget is a funny heroine and I loved the way her brain would take off and start plotting different scenarios for her characters.

-Well paced novella: It’s not a full length novel, but the plot progresses at a good pace, and I learned much more about these two than I had ever glimpsed of them before in earlier books.

-Not quite a Standalone HEA: I think you could read this without the earlier books, BUT there are alot of characters and it could be overwhelming. That said, it’s a HEA with enough of a tease (no cliffhanger) for future story that kept me interested.

-Smart, but emotionally stupid characters: Will and Bridget are likeable, flawed characters who have been unlucky in love. While at times frustrating, I enjoyed the fact that they weren’t just dummies who I’ve been told are smart, but they do some smart maneuvering - of each other and other characters, when the situation calls for it. It’s only emotionally that they’re stunted and dense, yet somehow Ms. Blake managed to make me not want to smack them upside the head...well, not too much.

My main issue with the romance was Bridget’s need to lock down a relationship and a HEA within a week of being with Will. I understand condensed timelines are something that happens in a romance novel, but I side-eyed her intense need to be forever, when they barely knew each other.

The Bottom Line (3.5 Stars)
The M&M formula felt fresher this time around and even when frustrated, I still liked the story. If you haven’t read this series and you’re into , I’d encourage you to start from the beginning, then dive into these novellas.

I can't help but to continuously be in a state of shock and awe over this amazing series by Lexi Blake. Her Masters & Mercenaries Series constantly gives us characters that we can relate to, characters that we can laugh and cry with, and characters that run away with our hearts. The characters that we know and adore collide with new characters that seem to fit right in. Together they bring us a love story so explosive, so intensely erotic, and unbelievably captivating, that all you want to do is stay attached to this world and these characters for as long as possible.

Will Daley and Bridget Slaten's love story gives us the feeling of a love so intense, so raw that you just feel it in your gut; the kind of love, the kind of support, and the kind of connection we all dream of having with another person. CHERISHED by Lexi Blake poses the question of, "What does the word love mean to you?" Pretty loaded question, am I right? Some of us say it and mean it. Some just toss the word around like the meaning doesn't even matter. Sometimes it's the simplest question that can be the most difficult to answer. Do you want to know what the word love means to me? Well, too bad you are gonna get it! Love means finding someone who brings out the absolute best version of you. That's it, plain and simple. Will and Bridget have this amazing, intense connection between them, but something is preventing them from moving forward. Will has not had the best luck with LOVE. When he hears the word he cringes, and it brings back awful memories. Bridget has been waiting for this kind of love forever. Will not hearing the 3 little words that every woman craves to hear from a man, tear apart a future that will heal them both?

Once again, Ms. Blake gives us an absolutely amazing addition to one of my all time favorite series. This novella will pull at your heartstrings, keep you on the edge of your seat, and warm your lady parts all in one fell swoop.

A quick, sexy read that fans of this series will adore.

Bridget Slaten is in a pickle. Her sister told her asshole family Bridget would be at her Hawaiian wedding…with a fiancé in tow…never mind that she doesn't even have a Mr. Right Now on the horizon! Will Daley isn't a stalker, but he kind of turns into one to get Bridget to give him the time of day. Now, he's got 2 weeks in Hawaii to show her how good they could be together. He never intended to lose his heart along the way.

CHERISHED is book 7.5 in the Masters and Mercenaries series and can easily be finished in an evening. Bridget is the requisite BDSM romance novel's bratty sub, a curvy author with attitude. Will's character is a bit more imaginative, since he's not a security expert, former military or billionaire businessman. Will's a doctor with a sketchy past who's just embracing his Dom role at Sanctum. The two have decent chemistry; it's not explosive but it is simmering. Will is just such a chill guy that he comes off as kind of dull, but Bridget's attitude makes up for it. They make a good couple, though I'm glad they got a novella instead of a full length read.

Bottom Line: Not my favorite in the Masters and Mercenaries series, but it was good nonetheless. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

This is the 7.5 book in the Master and Mercenaries series. These should be read in order.

This book is short, I believe it is supposed to be a novella but didn’t read like one. It had a good beginning, great middle and a twist for an end. I felt complete when I finished. When I read Unconditional, 5.5 in the Master and Mercenaries series, I had the opposite feeling, I felt the book was lacking.

I liked the character development. The characters seemed relate-able and people I would want to hang out with. I think I met a new character, Chris. I don’t remember him from any of the previous books, so I don’t know where he came from. Maybe a glimpse in The Men with the Golden Cuffs just like the glimpse of Bridget. Hopefully there will be a book for him and his boyfriend.

Even though the characters had their issues it was nice to have them come together quickly rather than wait until the middle or the end of the book. Again, the author taught me another lesson: What does LOVE mean to you? It doesn’t have to be said, it can be shown and mean different things for different people. I really enjoyed reading the journey of Will and his discovery of what love means to him.

You know sometimes the word "love" hold a different meaning for everyone and our vision of that word stems from our past. Well Will and Bridget had to fight for an agreeable meaning of that word to not only save a relationship that was solid but a future that held promise and partnership.

Being the provider for so many years and being tricked when he thought he found the one, Will Daley took life in as a now situation. The future was never promised and neither was his heart. That was until Bratty Bridget made him yearn to protect, cherish, and not be abke to live without her. Not one to be open with his past and feelings Will learned pretty quickly with the help of his sister and Frankie that those walls doesn't mean anything when what is on the line is your soulmate. Versions of a word as a child transform when you are an adult. Even the person who should use it properly fail but the ones you protect and look after look at you with love and appreciation. Kai was right but he was also wrong because in the end Will was able to give Bridget what she needed as well as free her from the demons that was her family and her inner monologue.

Lexi has once again quenched my thirst for a wonderful novel. My Masters at Sanctum know how to treat their women even if it takes them a while to get their baring. Bridget got her menage in the form of one guy. That analogy was epic but didn't top Ian fight club and bullet proof baby gear.

I love reading this series. Bridget Slaten from The Men with the Golden Cuffs book two and Will Daley from Dungeon Games book six hook up. Bridget needs a date for her sisters wedding and all of the Dom's at Sanctum have been warned by Will to say no. This was a really good book Bridget is a bratty sub and she didn't think that Will would want to put up with her. Will has been trying to get next to Bridget he knows wants to have sex with her. Both of these character's have had pretty mess up childhoods. Bridget who grew up with rich parents never got love and acceptance from them and was cut out of the will because she writes smut. Will grew up with a drug addict mother he was the one who took care of his three little sister's he didn't believe in saying I love you because his mother said it when she wanted something. As these two heat up they have great chemistry each one of them begin to fall in love but only Bridget realizes that Will is unable to say how he feels. This was a really good book and I liked how Will was able to step up and take care of Bridget like she needed to be. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I love reading this series and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I absolutely adored this one. Cute, sweet, and short without being dissatisfying. A smidgen of BDSM, a dollop of funny, and a whopping truckload of sexy. Good times! I was already looking forward to the next Masters and Mercenaries book next year, but now I'm craving it hardcore!

.... and this is a go for me! Woohoo! We got to know about Dr. Will from another book in the earlier series and I am so glad that he has a book of his own. It's a novella but it packed full of punch. His previous experience thwarted his look on love, you either want to punch him or give him a hug. I want to do both, he can be so bloody stubborn was a bit of an arse to Bridget but redeemed himself so beautifully in the end.

This was a quick read for me.

I'm a big fan of Blake's "Masters and Mercenaries" series, and I've enjoyed the novellas about some of the secondary characters.

I must admit it took me a few minutes to figure out just who Bridget was... a friend of Serena, the heroine in "The Men with the Golden Cuffs." There's some backstory, but I still wasn't entirely sure why/how she ended up at Sanctum, or why she was so hesitant to have scenes with Will. But Will is determined, and uses Bridget's need for a date at her sister's wedding (which I thought was rather contrived anyway) as an excuse to become involved.

There's some...actually a lot...of angst and hand-wringing from Bridget, who's very, very, very hung up on having to hear the "L" word from Will. I don't have a lot of patience with heroines like that....so I wasn't a huge fan of Bridget's. She seems extremely needy, and I'm not sure why Will was so attracted.

But it's a fun story, and it's great to catch up with other characters from the series.

I had a hard time buying into Will and Bridget as a couple, they just didn't seem to fit together. Both of them had walls and were a bit cold. What did work in this book for me was how Will and Bridget were with their friends and family. While Bridget's family left a lot to be desired, with the exception of her sister, Will's sisters were funny! I did love Amy's coup at the wedding, it makes me wish that we could see the next one too.

A good story in the series, on par with the rest.

I like Will, but his turnaround on saying "I love you" was a bit too simplistic. Getting rid of his 'phobia' overnight just didn't do it for me.

Bridget is sweet and ascerbic (when needed) but she did come over a little too sweet sometimes.

Oh my gosh just love Bridget. Will can be my doctor any time. Bridget is best friends with Serena Dean Miles. Bridget and Chris just started going to Sanctum. While at the club Bridget, Chris & Serena are talking about Bridget's sisters wedding and how Amy ( Bridget's sister ) had told their cousins that Bridget was engaged. So Bridget needs to find a date for the wedding. The good doctor oh my.. Will Daley!! Will wants to be with Bridget but he goes about it in kinda the wrong way. Will had a hard life he grow up poor and had to take care of his 3 sister's. His mother is in jail because of drugs. Not alone is / was addicted to drugs, but she got caught trying to deal them. Enough about Will's past. Let's talk about how he came to live in Bridget's condo building. Not only that he lives right across the hall from her. When Will lived in Fort Worth. He had started going to BDSM clubs in that area. That's were he meet Starr. her and her CRAZY boyfriend went around to the different clubs in that area killing subs. They tried to pend it all on him. But his friend Derek had a different plan ( if your remember correctly Karina's ex-brother in law kidnaps her from the club that they all were at.) Derek caught Starr in the act of trying to stuff an unconscious Will in the truck of his car. Derek saves Karina as well. When Will was moving into his condo Bridget was watching and thought the 3 women that was helping him were his sub's but it turns out that where his sisters. Will over heard Bridget , Serena , & Chris talking about her needing a for her sisters wedding . So, Will and his best friend Mitch put together a plan to put Bridget in a corner so that she doesn't have any other option but Will. He had thought is was going to work until Mitch kept calling.

This is a really good book. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I would actually give this book 3.5 stars because I find Will's attitude about love to be so frustrating in that he doesn't believe in love. He has been mistreated in ONE relationship, and granted it was pretty spectacularly bad, but how is that influencing his entire outlook on romantic love? He has a bad relationship with his mother but he also has loved and cared for all of his sisters throughout their lives. I just don't understand how he can completely discount the love he has for his sisters and if I were them I would be a little insulted. Bridget is the one who has been completely screwed and taken advantage of in all of her past relationships and by her family. But she is once again willing to put aside her own needs in order to be with a man who is not willing to give her everything she deserves.

Sure, Will begins to realize the error of his ways, but once again it is the woman who is hopelessly in love first and who is willing to accept whatever crumbs of affection the man is willing to offer. I don't mind if one person has trouble expressing their emotions as long as they are shown to have them. Will does have a lot of feeling toward Bridget, but he is so unwilling to bend or compromise for so long it is ridiculous. This is one book that I would only reread the ending (or maybe the last 20%) because I can do without the doormat heroine.

Since I read the second book in the Masters and Mercenaries Series - The Men With the Golden Cuffs - I was waiting for Bridget´s story. And here it is . Yay!

Bridget Slaten is best friends with her author buddies Serena Dean-Miles and Christopher. She´s a chaotic mess, sarcastic and feisty. She recently started her sub training at Sanctum and is considered difficult. She has some issues, was cheated on repeatedly and doesn´t trust anymore. She isn´t good at relationships, but needs to connect with somebody. She loves easily and deeply.

Will Daley is a successful neurosurgeon. He´s head of the Daley family and cares deeply for his three sisters Lila, Laurel and Lisa. He was burned in the pat and doesn´t believe in love. He´s a player, a sarcastic man.
When those two so different people start a D/s relationship, disaster is programmed. They hurt each other, Will breaks her heart with his non-commitment and she hurts him with her mistrust.

I love the imagination of Bridget´s character so much, her evil mind is brilliant "... where her heroine was the only woman left on earth made up entirely of Channing Tatums."
I can´t express how much I love the characters and Lexi Blake´s writing. Only so much, this is a must read! 5 stars.

Cherished is the 4th book in the Sanctum Nights novella series and tells the story of Dr. Will Daley and Bridget Slaten.
Bridget was first introduced in The Men With the Golden Cuffs, book 2 of the Masters and Mecenaries series and was a standout character for me.
She's snarky, sarcastic, fun and loves fiercely and is fiercely protective of those she loves.
Dr. Will Daley is exactly the man that Bridget needs in her life.
He's a sneaky Dom.
Their story is fun, angsty and emotional with a splash of drama and plenty of loads of laughter and love thrown in.
Highly recommended.

Will Daley who we have met in previous M&M books is headlining in this story. Still smarting from his recent negative experience with the BDSM lifestyle he has sworn off commitment. Brigid has recently joined Sanctum. She can write a good tale of menage, but isn't so good when it comes to finding love herself, and her relationships haven't set her alight.
Of course when these two get together there are sparks.
This is a fairly straightforward romance. The BDSM is mostly background noise and very little is front and centre. However the story is a quick read, fun and engaging. There are moments that are all too real (the answerphone message at just the wrong time for instance) and the usual misunderstandings and miscommunications to overcome.
This is not the best book in the series but it is ok and as a quickie side-line to the more mainstream characters in the series was good enough in my mind to warrant the cost and time.
I advise this series is read in order to avoid spoilers and to keep the timeline straight.

I've been hooked on Lexi Blake's Masters & Mercenaries series for a couple years now. I've read all the 'main' books and needed more, so I bought as many of the novellas as I could.

This book had me needing a cold shower after reading. I read it in a couple hours because I just couldn't put it down. The connection between Bridget and Will is electric. I saw parts of my own relationship with my husband in this book.

You can almost feel their passion, and you also know that they're not going make their relationship super easy, because when has a novel or novella had a journey to their true affections? In this book, you will love to hate some characters and the damage done by them to our protagonists. There are others you'll want to read their story next because you just want more!

I do recommend that you read the novellas in order, because all of Lexi's M & M world is so intertwined, you don't want to miss a detail!
