Rate this book
Rachel wants to find her birth mother. Who wants to stop her?

Rachel Harris was abandoned as a baby on the steps of a church-run children’s home, fostered and later adopted. Who was her birth mother and what were the circumstances which led her to give up her baby?

Searching for someone who doesn’t want to be found seems a hopeless task until Rachel meets Matthew Williams, a Church of England clergyman.

Then the anonymous and increasingly frightening attempts to end their relationship begin. Are these actions connected to the mysterious events surrounding Rachel’s birth?

I hung in there for a while, but even with decapitated goat heads being staked out in yards, buckets of guts being thrown at doors, poisoning of small furry animals and sexually awake clergyman, this book was like watching grass grown. If I had to read about microwavable dinners and cups of coffee one more time, I was going to throw the freaking book. I don't even care about the mystery or finding out who Rachel's parents were.

BRILLIANT

This is the first book I have read of Lorna Peel, and I loved it. It is one of those books that you don't want it to end. All characters are well place, and the storyline takes you through a maze of twists and turns, in the life of Rachel, who only wants to find out the truth. But getting it turns everything she believed in, to a nightmare, until the truth is revealed through a twist of nature.
I definitely will be reading more of Lorna Peel's books. Frances.
A highly recommend read.

Best Book I Have read in years!

I cannot remember being so engrossed in a story. I felt that I knew Rachel and Matthew. Romantic, funny, witty. Just sad I have finished it.

I had such high hopes for this book, sadly I did not connect with the main characters and felt the book was very disjointed.
